Cursed Land and Bruja Stories

Cursed Land and Bruja Stories

Whenever tragic accidents happen in the same place, again and again, many start to think the land could be cursed. In Cartago, Costa Rica locals attempted to build a church, three times and each time, something caused the building to fall. We also have a couple of bruja stories from Mexico and a listener story about brujas.

Oh my god, today today's day. I'm sorry, give a second, dying you have? You have all my seconds? I'm jaane, Okay, I need a few, well, you have all of them? All right, all right, let's do this all right, Let's press play in one to three? Okay or no? I said that weird? After three? One two, three? Okay? Person play. Growing up, my parents would send me and my brother too many school for the summers with my mother Ka the family historian should look after us and tell so many stories about our community. Brujas Double, the Double, Don't Steals, Worn, the Revolution and a Molastemuchisme. I'm going to be focusing on my favorite Brujas story for the submission, just because, like I've been listening to Sailor five on YouTube. My parents are from the community one close to the border of suny Lois, in the Seatra Corta. Some of those communities where the road like aren't exactly developedpecially around the time where the stories took place, there were like no roads, just trails. So to give some context, it's about a thirty minute walk to see your closest neiper and about thirty minutes and foot to a town. There's a lot of you know, prough health being in the lights in the mountains that night, and then it's a little disturbing for me when I was seeing it growing up, but everyone's like not unusual for folks. It to be like every other day thing for folks that lived out there. So I'm going to be focusing on my cousin Basque and so he was at a party one of those three hour away towns one night and was drinking. So I feel like the validarty is a little bit questionable. But I think there's a lot of things that are questionable to the age. But let's not talk about that. But you know, the families pretty seriously because of how his body looked afterwards, And you know why I was being told to me like twenty years later. He's one of those like twenty year old cousins that are like twenty years older than me. And he left the party on a donkey. He was tired, and it was about halfway home when he saw a light in the mountain, But because it was not unusual, he didn't give it too much thought and he just kept chatting along. Sometimes had passed and he came across another one, and then another one, and fuel posts like like it was just like a chill that rushed over him. It was an airy feeling, and the donkey that he was writing felt it too ten stop and it didn't want to move either forward or backward. Then he realized that the lights were actually moving towards him. The donkey jolted and it threw him off. And this is where like things happened really fast and he doesn't feel clear about what had happened next or the only thing that he remembers about this part is just being surrounded by laughter. And it was like a laughter that he felt vibrate in his body, and his body kind of just being tossed around and thrown to the ground and like feeling blunt objects hitting him. Oh my god, and then those like the weird cart was his neck being stuck. He remembers just like fighting for his life and he couldn't tell us if he let him go or he managed to escape because he was like so disoriented by what had happened. He was just running. He wasn't going towards home or anything. He's just trying to run away from the laughter and from the lights and to the morning. And he managed to make it too a kamnitoa like ended up bleeding towards home. When he got home, like they examined him and the bruce is all over his nack like said wound, you know, the bato And like as a kid, I remember being terrified, like hearing this, I would never fall asleep with my neck exposed. Our blankets world were like my shirt around my neck, just because that was part of the stories that the Brucas stuck your neck as an adult. Now, I'm just like the sounds like the sounds like you know, it was just like a teenager and be it was like falling around with something. But that's my story. I hope can share it. Also, I just post them spooks here, so oh yeah, I'll show into doing what you're daring. That was insane. Wow, it like it grows to me out like I don't know, whenever here kill us brujas, uh, you know, whenever like like suck your blood. I feel like it's such a violating thing to do, like obviously, but like it I almost can like you how violating it is. Yeah, that's horrifying and like you know how he said like growing up and he's like, oh, it was probably just like what about the bruises. Yeah, yeah, that's a horrifying story. It was perfect for this episode because we have Brujas stories. So thank you so much for setting that in as a voice memo too. It just I think it's more fun. I mean, we're both great, but it just adds a little a little change, you know. Also, thank you for buying some spooky here. Yes, thank you so much again, and if you want to send it in, you can do it as a voice memo. Okay, so I think we have like three stories. We have so our first story is not a which story, but it is a cursed land story, which also fun. Not fun for whoever's on the land, but fun for us. Yeah. So this is Las Arenas de la Paria or the Ruins. What's up? Isn't it like a parish? I think it's a parish? Yeah, yeah, so the parish Ruins. Let's see. Yeah, I don't know. It sounds better in Spanish. I'm probably translated it wrong. We'll see if Dawn translated it better. Probably she did, she did, Okay, probably I didn't read it because you probably did. So this land is rumored to be cursed. It's in Cartago, Costa Rica, and currently it's a public garden. It's popular with tourists. But it was once home to several churches, and all these churches suffered the same terrible fate. The location these churches used to stand on is now known as Lazrenaz la Parochia or the Parish Ruins. No, I was right, it is the parish Ruins. Anyway, let me keep it going, I had to interrupt the story from Okay, So the land was first home to a church that was constructed in fifteen seventy three, and it lasted that is how long as time ago. Yeah, that is the time of the colonizers. Yeah, was this the first church? I don't even know. That's a long time ago. Yeah, Okay, this church lasted less than a hundred years, and then it was severely damaged by an earthquake in sixteen thirty and then it was fully demolished in sixteen fifty six. Then they built another church the same spot in sixteen sixty two, and the same thing happened. Earthquakes hit the area in seventeen eighteen and seventeen fifty six, and the earthquakes heavily damaged the church. So then in eighteen forty one it was completely destroyed the church that was there. And then I guess the locals didn't learn their lesson, and in eighteen seventy they began to build another church on the same spot, but this time they didn't make it far enough. They didn't finish building it. It was put on holds for thirty years and then resumed again. In nineteen o three. They don't stop. They really wanted a church. Then in nineteen ten, another another earthquake hit the same area, destroying the church again. This time they were like, no, this land is cursed, and they gave up on trying to build the church. One legend states that the land became cursed after a brutal murder occurred there. Another legend in Colonial times says that there was two brothers who fell in love with the same woman there. One of them killed the other for her. The legend goes that one was popular around town and the other was a Catholic priest preached at the church that was built on that land. The priest became enraged when the woman chose his brother. I'm sorry, was he not a priest? He couldn't even be with her anyway? Right exactly? So what damn? Okay? Well, there's some priests who probably don't give two ups. So true True. Unable to control his feelings of jealousy, he set out to ruin his brother's reputation, and when that didn't work, he used a knife to murder his brother inside the church during the night of New Year's Mass. When the priest realized he had committed a crime, inside a sacred place. He promised God he would build another church to make up for what he had done, but it said that instead God cursed the land, and that's why every church that has been built on this has been brought down by earthquakes. And other version of the legend states that it was the priest who was murdered by his brother, not him being the murderer. And this version of the legend the brother was married to the woman and the priests began a romantic affair with their brother's wife. When the priest Wow. When the priest's brother found out, he was obviously mad. He was the I guess. He was also the mayor of the town, and so he murdered his brother and got away with it because the mayor the mayor priest. No, no, no, and the other one was the mayor. Yeah. And the mayor brother killed the priest brother, and he got away with it because he's the mayor and he could do whatever he wanted. Yeah, And so he murdered his priest's brother and then buried him under the church and used his political power to hide the crime. No matter which version of the legend you believe, it's still said that the priest haunts the land as well, and he might even be headless. I don't know when he became headless or hound, but he lost it somehow. Yeah, God took it after he died. Yeah, I'm taking this mine. Yeah. You don't deserve it, you can't clearly you're not using Yeah. Others also say that the location has a different feeling at night, so it's like a sunny public guardian in the morning, and then at night it's like the sinister, eerie, dark vibe. So yeah, that was the church ruins of Cartago, Costa Rica. Oh but then I like I at the same time, I'm like not scared enough to be like I would never lose it. Yeah. My story is from the podcast Extra Normal, and this story in particular is what turned me into their show. Now it's a Spanish only show, so our Spanish challenge friends, I will be translating the story. However, they have hundreds of stories and if you speak Spanish, go check them out. They're they're pretty awesome. It's a very good podcast. I've been listening. A thirty year old woman from Lexkala wrote into the show and there's her story is pretty disturbing for various reasons, but one that many women can relate to. In particular, everything happened when her father died she was fifteen years old. A while later, her mother began to date a coworker, and he began to frequently be around, going over to their house often, until one day he moved in. She noticed that when she was fifteen and sixteen, he would look at her in a very strange way. Oh no, the kind of stairs that make people very uncomfortable. I hate it gross. She tried to avoid at him as much as possible, and as she gets older, her mother's boyfriend's becomes very caring towards her. He would go in for a hug and say, oh, my daughter, grab and hugger in a way that made her very uncomfortable. She tells Faco, one of the co hosts, in her letter, that her mom's boyfriend would repulse or his scent that he had would just churn her stomach. She would tell her mother, I don't like him living here. He looks weird. He looks at me weird. Her mother would just dismiss her claims, didn't care to hear, and just didn't care about her complaints. She turned twenty two and she started dating a guy. Her stepdad became furious. He would treat her boyfriend like shit, and she couldn't understand his behavior. Her boyfriend is a good guy, a good son, a good student. He was jealousy and he was like he had a promising future, and he was overall a good person. He checks all the boxes right. However, her stepdad would say things like cut him out of your life. I saw him doing this, that and the other. But every day her stepdad would say the same thing, cut him off, break up with him. It was daily. As time goes on, her relationship with her boyfriend becomes more and more serious. When she was twenty six, her boyfriend proposed to her. Her mother gathers the family and tells them she's engaged, and everyone is, you know, ecsthetic, except her stepdad. He must have forgotten he was around people because he was angry and was letting it show. He threw a tantrum or something like. It's it's suggested he's through like some kind of tantrum. The mother was somehow shocked, Pikachu face like you didn't see this, and she begins to spend time with her boyfriend. It's insinuated in all the ways, because apparently this is you know, it comes back in the story out of Nowhere. She begins to have dreams of her step dad, erotic dreams. She would have sexual relations with her stepdad in these dreams, and she began to notice that when she was around him, his scent didn't repulse her like it used to. She began to like his scent. It was something she began to think about a lot. It was intoxicating to her. She couldn't stop thinking about it. His hugs no longer no longer made her feel uncomfortable. They no longer disgusted her. She couldn't even tolerate being intimate with her boyfriend. She couldn't, you know, she can't stand it anymore. Everything changed. She tells her friend what is going on, and she doesn't understand. Logically, it makes no sense that the smell this man gave off for years and years, you know, it smells terrible to her, and all of a sudden it's intoxicating and she can't get intimate with her partner and her friend's like, Amita, this sounds like someone is doing witchcraft on you. Go to this woman and she will help you. And this woman that they go to was part of a Christian congregation who are known for removing curses. She goes on to say she didn't believe in any of it, but was terrified at what she was experiencing. And she goes and joins the congregation at one of their prayer sessions, and she begins to have a terrible headache, to the point she had to leave the group prayer because it was debilitating her friends. Her friend asked her why did you leave? What happened? And she tells her my head began hurting so terribly, so I had to go. So then they speak to someone from the congregation and they make a date and time to visit her. She made sure to do it when no one was home, so her mom and stepdad would be gone. A few people from the congregation came over and they sit down and tell her what we want to pray for you. And this is crucial to the story. But she lives in a two story house. They all gather in the living room and begin praying. Some of them begin speaking in tongues again the same thing as the last prayer session happened. Her head began to hurt. However, this is when the noise from the second floor could be heard, some rattling and something being like hit. Oh that's scary. Yeah. They tell her something's going on, so her and another person go to investigate the noises coming from her room. Her vanity mirror was violently moving. The person with her was like, let's take apart this mirror. They take it apart, remove the frame, and inside the mirror was a little sack. It was covered in a red liquid and it was moving. This little thing was what was making the mirror move. Everyone else comes up to see what's going on. She's sing with her own eyes this thing moved, but her brain can't compute. She's into now because what she's sing should be impossible. And they opened the sack and inside are two pictures, one of him and one of her, along with dirt and ground bones. She goes to say there was more borgia, which translates to filth, but she doesn't go into detail of what it was. Oh, I don't even probably something terrible. Yeah. The group poured alcohol on it and try to light it, but it would extinguish. They couldn't get it to burn. Then they put oil on it and prayed and prayed until they until finally it caught fire and it was consumed. They told her that the curses lifted. This guy did some work on you. She begins to feel normal. She tells her mom what happened, and her mother is distraught, so much so that both her and her mother wait for him to confront him. Here's the weird part. He never returns. Somehow he knew everyone found out what he did and that the curse is broken. She goes on to say that this happened to her four or five years ago and it was something she has had to live with and wants her story to be told so people will be careful. And you know, I can't say whether witchcraft is real or not, but what does exist is creepy as men and true that ladies be careful as the men in your life and the men you let around your children. The mother finally believing her like also makes it seem like she was in a trance as well, and it was finally broken because all of a sudden, like she was like, oh, like, I believe you. This dude was predatory af and yeah, gross and the host of the podcast also begin to have weird noises during their were telling of the story. No way, Yes, so my mom sent me a link on Facebook. Link that's where you know I heard that's what that was. Yes, that's what Okay, that's the okay, that like story is just so gross because like predatory men being it's just it's just gross being predatory, being a gross pedophile. Yeah, man is already discussing, but add in using witchcraft too for his nefarious purposes is even like worse grosser. Yeah, and like you hear this all the time that people like try to make like love spells so another person can fall in love. It's just so it's so nasty, like if they don't like you, they don't like you, move on. Yeah. Yeah, but like his case, it's like he was just fucking gross nasty. And the mom makes me mad because if a man ever made my children uncomfortable, they're gone. I don't care. I could love them, I don't give a shit. You do not make my kids uncomfortable. Yeah. Yeah, I was trying to find the episode that it was, but I also can't find. Yeah, but I linked their Facebook linked to the specific story of their retailing because sometimes they break up the episodes and just put up clips. So the clip to this story is in my notes. But yeah, it's just gross. Yeah, that's that's so much using which we have to be a put files disgusting. Yes, I've also noticed that there's like whenever people say they were cursed by a ba or brujo and later they talk about it, then like things start happening. Yeah, so like they can't even talk about it, and which is even more terrifying. But yeah, that's scary. Thankfully, whatever she had, she was like, you know, she was conscious enough to be like, listen, bitchelors, some shit going on. I gotta get help. Welcome to our little Hunted break. It's from like four years ago from It's titled and tepitos like a neighborhood in Sida, Mexico, because they're like it's broken up not I don't know if neighborhood is the right word, but zones areas of Mexico are like broken up into like yeah, like zones like like my my uli does it lomaze something? You know, like each area has like its own name inside whatever city. So this is Tepito. So I guess like from four years ago from since Spanish as well, if you want to hear it told in a better voice than mind and check that out. Also, I'm gonna run a poll because I was telling Carmen that the guy from has a hot voice and she was like, I don't know, and then she listened again and she was like, no, you're right, but I have to run a poll to see if anyone else agrees with me and Carmen now who also agrees with me? Okay, So let me go on, let me go on, Let me start the story. I haven't me the story of it. Okay. So when Sadko was a young teen and his younger sister was around eight, and this was like the early nineties, his family went through some rough times. His dad lost his job, they lost their house, so they moved to a vesting dad. I don't want to say they're like projects because I don't know if that's right, but it's lower cost living and they're like looked down upon. Yeah, yeah, like section eight. But but I don't know if that's how they work. I just know that and novellas as were all the poor people. That's true. So yeah, he had other family in the vesting dad, so they were all going to move there, and they were sad. Obviously they're like losing their house that I'd lost his job, But he said he remembers his mom saying what at least whatever like entity was haunting them in their house was they were going to leave it there, right, So it was not all bad because for years since they were living in the house, said HER's mom and his sister claimed to have and la casa the ghost of a man. Yeah, it sounds scarier in Spanish that when people say, yeah, it just sounds grosser. Yeah. Yeah, then like a ghost and it's not the same thing. There's a dead guy, there's a dead yea. Because it literally feels like when it's described in Spanish, it's like there's no there's like really a dead guy. It's like the same thing as sleep paralysis, the same. Yeah, it's worse, it's so much worse. So yeah, they would say that there was a ghost. They would see him in the shadows looking at them while they tried to sleep. Sometimes I could see it walk in front of an open room, like an open door. Said he never saw himself, just his sister and his mom. His dad didn't see it either, at least not in that house. So yeah, the foreshadowing obvious for shadowing or whatever. So the family moved to Levising that in Tepitosa, Mexico. Said he always heard bad things about these neighborhoods, these areas, but he was very happy. He was close to his cousins. Everyone in the area was nice to them. There were so many kids to play with. But they did notice that while they were playing outside, there was a woman always watching them. She was elderly, she had an amputated leg. She lived alone. Maybe her late seventies is like what said. He was guessing, and he was like, life looks like it's been rough for her, like hard seventies is what he said. When her I'd be offended I'm excuse him. Although to be fair, like seventy five, I'm like, yeah, you should look old. I think at that age it'd still be a fan. I was like, I don't care, don't call it rough, okay, like every other seventy year old, it looked better than every other seventy year old sassy hair web So said he watched his cousin's like greet the woman that was staring at them from afar. Nobody got close to her and she only grunted back. She didn't really say hi back, and at that moment said he's oldest cousin. She told everyone to go back inside, like when when his cousin saw the women. So they all went inside, and when they got in, his aunt his tana was like, why are you guys back so early? And his cousin was like, oh, the witch came out earlier than usual, is what she said. And So said he was like what a witch in a way, and he would ask his cousins for stories why they thought that. He was like, this is kind of cool, like I'm gonna have a witch story to tell until until that wasn't cool anymore. It's so chaotic. Yeah, he was at his cousin's until ten pm, and then it was like he was like, oh, it's getting late, I should start heading out. So when he was about to head out, his DA was like, oh, wait, I'm gonna give you some hot chocolate. Just wait by the door. So because they lived like right by each other, so she's like, here, let me give you this thing to take home. And so while he was standing there waiting for her, his DA to bring over the hot chocolate, another woman walked up to the door like she was gonna say something, but she didn't. She just was standing there and he was like, can I help you? Are you looking for yeah? And she she was like no, Miko, I just want to tell you, like, take good care of your sister. And then she pointed to another house, and so I said, yo, looked at where she was pointing, and that's when he saw his sister helping the quote unquote bruka into her house, like she was pushing her wheelchair in, and so he ran over there as fast as he could because he was like, oh no, if she's a witch, like something's going to happen, right, So he ran over there and he was ready to scold his sister like, don't go into strangers homes. What are you doing? When he ran into like the Brujas open door to stop, his sister La Bruca said to him like, oh, she did nothing wrong. She's just helping an old lady into her house. And he was like, you know what, you're right, like she she's just helping you. There's nothing wrong here. And then she was like all right, well, don't go telling your parents because you know she did nothing wrong and said here. For some reason, felt compelled to listen to her, and he just walked away with his sister and they got back to his at Thea's house and the same woman was there waiting for them, and she told him so in English because of that which the devil shows up here every night, horrible, I'd be so scared. And then she said they're going to take her too. Oh yeah. So immediately Sakio was like, what's excuse me? Because Sakio his cousins had told him stories of like oh people hear things here, or oh like things move on their own, but nothing about a missing child, so he was like, what's going on. He and his sister went home immediately after that, but they didn't say anything about what happened to their thea, their cousins or their parents. But after that night, Sadko's sister started acting strange. He would wake up in the middle of the night and see her staring at the women's house their window. Yeah. Gross. While they were playing outside, he would see his sister go near the women's window and just stand there and stare. Oh. Sometimes at night he could swear there was strange like chanting, like a chanting song coming from La Bruca's house, and his sister would be staring in the middle of the night. That is so creepy. Yeah, read minds of what's it called? What is that paranormal activity? When the girl would just like stand there, yes, yes, when she's at the at the end of the bed, just standing there staring. Yeah. Yeah. But still said he didn't tell their parents anything. They had other things to worry about, other things to be scared of, because it seemed like Elmertov, the entity from their old home, had followed them there into their new house and leaves in that shortly after all they started happening with Lebruka. There was one night that said he was mom. She felt she felt that she actually paralysis. She always managed to shake it off, but that night, when she was trying to like get out of this, she actually saw a black shadow on top of her. Oh and like it was like a shadow and all she could see was like its eyes. It just grassed me out so bad. Yeah, And so I mean they all knew that, like not all visions during sleep paralysis are real, like they could be just like in your head. But Setio's dad woke up because he felt like a pressure in his chest and when he woke up and looked, he saw the shadow. Sayo's mom was screaming. His dad got up to turn the light on and then the shadow was gone. He saw it, and he was not having sleep paralysis. So I don't know, Yeah, more than one person saw that. Yeah, that's when it makes it like more real and horrible. After this, said, He's little sister also started having issues sleeping. She said that every night she felt something calling her name from the window, asking her to let it in. Oh no, horrible, and she started sleeping in her parents' room after this, and I don't blieme her. So then Sejo was alone in his room because they shared a room. Oh fuck, that shit I'd be like, listen, mom, Dad, yeah, makes him he scoot over. And though he never saw anything, he said that every night he would hear the same noise, like someone was dragging something back and forth right outside the window. What the fuck? And his cousins told him, Oh, that's La Ruka. She turns into every night a vulture, and she that's the sound she makes as she flies past the windows. Horrible girls. And one night, said he woke up sweating hot despite it being a cold night. He heard dishes in the kitchen and he was like, oh, it's my dad. I'm just gonna wake up and go talk to him because I can't sleep. And when he got to the kitchen and looked at the sink, it wasn't his dad, it was what looked like a man, but like burned burns everywhere. So he screamed, screams all the way to his parents room. They all went to look in the kitchen, but there was no one there. Then they heard a knock. It was said he steel. He was asking if everyone was okay, because said he's screamed woke everyone up in the neighborhood and everyone was like, no, we're okay. He just thought he saw something, and he still asked again, like, are you sure, because it smells like someone's hair got burned in here, Like there's a burned smell in every single room. After yeah, after this night, it got so bad neighbors were smelling it too, from when they passed by their house. What the hell? Yeah, horrible, and then said He's sister kept getting worse. She was only sleeping two hours every single night. She was just not feeling well. She was fatigued. They started noticing that she her demeanor was changing at school, so they took her to a doctor, but then they were referred to like a specialist. They couldn't afford it. Every time they returned from a doctor's visit, Labruca was there at her door with her door open, just like looking at them. Yeah. One day, Labruca asked how she's Like, OK, how's the girl all doing? She's stick and Saidco's mom was like yeah. So while Setiko's mom was answering, his sister like went inside the house, ran inside, and then Labrua said twice and this freaked out Saidko's mom. She was like, uh no, she will not be going in there with you because she also heard all the stories and it just creeped her out. And even if she didn't hear all those stories, don't let your kid go into somebody's home so you don't know. Yeah, So she grabbed her daughter ran home. When they got home and they opened the door to the house, it sounded like someone was running inside, like someone ran to Saidco's room specifically, and then they didn't hear anything else. They just heard the footsteps head into his room. But no one else was home, so they were like, what the hell, And they waited for the dad and said he had to get home after that because they're like, we're not going in here by ourselves. So when they all went inside, Saidiko's room was a mess, like a tornado went through it. He didn't do it. It wasn't like that, So he says, I don't know. He's a teen. He's a teen boys, so yeah, but he claims that it was not like that and it was only his room. So that night they all slept in the same room. They made room for seco so and this night everyone had a rough time, so Seiko didn't sleep until two. He kept hearing like someone was scratching at the window, like trying to be let in. Seiko's mom heard it too, the scratching. She thought she was dreaming, and she thought that in her dream she beckoned like like not her head, giving whatever this was permission to enter. Oh no, yes, And she thought this was a dream. She thought she did this in her dream. She didn't realize that she was she actually did it. She actually beckoned for whatever was out there to come inside. Sadiko's dad he was leaping in front of the door this night, so not on the bed. He's like, nothing's getting past me. I'm in the door, which is such a like like a dad thing to do. Didn't work. No, So around three he accidentally fell asleep and in his dream. And he still doesn't know this was in his dream or in real life, like everyone has tried to convince him that it was a dream. But he was paralyzed. He could not move, and he heard footsteps, the same footsteps they've been hearing this whole time in the kitchen, the same ones that Setko had heard when he got up and went to the kitchen and saw the burned man. Those were like they're creepy, but they're familiar. But then he heard a second pair of footsteps running after and these were different. These sounded like high heels. Almost he heard a scream. Then he could move again. He got up, he opened the door, went to the kitchen, and he saw that same burned man that Setko had seen. But he was like sitting on the ground, like you know when people put their hands up to cover them himselves, like blocking hits. So he was doing that. That's what the burned man looked like. And then in front of him there was like a woman in a black dress and he could only see the back of her, and he was like, what the fuck. He ran back to the room and closed the door, and they put a chair in front of the door and then started praying. He was like, I'm not going back out there. They kept hearing screams and no one else saw this, only him. At some point while he was praying, he fell asleep. He doesn't know like what happened. But after that night, like when everyone woke up in the morning, that smell, the burn smell, was gone. They never saw the burned man again, said her sister gone better. And then like not even shortly after that, after all this happened, his dad got his old job not his old job back, but like the similar position and what he was doing, like his profession. He was able to get a job again and that same thing. So they were able to move out of leavesting that because they were finally gonna go back to their old income or lifestyle. Right, yeah and yeah, all this happened after that night, so they were getting ready to move out. After this, Seto's mom was like walking by and the Bruca's door was open, and the La Bruca was standing there like staring at her as always, and for some reason, Setio's mom felt compelled to go and thank her. She didn't know why, she just felt like she needed to, and so she went. She asked the women La Bruca if she could come in, and she was like, to get it if you want. So she went and signed, but instantly she was horrified because it looked like there was evil things everywhere, like I don't know, I don't know, satanic looking things according to her. Right, so she was like, no, never mind, I have to go. She turned around to leave, and then La Bruca. As she turned around, La Bruca said to her, also in English, some people use evil forces to kill those that they hate, but there's always something more evil, and there are things worse than death. Don't you think that's so gross? I don't like it. So they moved away after that, but said Ko's cousins, whenever they would visit, would tell him or all of them, I guess about a They would hear a screaming man from La Bruca's house, and some people, especially like on rainy dark nights, would see the figure of a burned man in the window of La Bruca's house, and he looked like he was trying to escape. That is I think she helped them though. I think she helped them, but like it's so like, you know, because they're so like essentially, this burnt man was haunting them and I was like, oh, like curse them almost, and she like removed its weird, yeah, and now it's in her home. But she's like, I can deal with it because I'm powerful, and he's the one trying to escape. He's like, oh shit, like fucked up. He's scared. Yeah, but yeah, I heard this and I was like, oh my god, looks such a good story. Yeah. Yeah again, if you want to hear it in a much better way, listen to it's from like four years ago. I will try to remember the link everything in the show notes, including your stuff, but I always forget. I'm so bad at it. We gave what's it called the credits, so yeah, if we're really bad at linking, just just google the people we are giving credit to. If you message me and say, what was that thing that you mentioned? I will message back and send it, but I will now put it in the show notes. For some reason, I have done this for people. They'll they'll message the US and ask and I'm like, oh, yeah, here it is. Yeah, like everything goes poof you guys like, yes, don't remember forgot that. I don't remember to do it ever Sammy. Oh I also, well, did you have anything else to say about the story? You know, it was just a really good story. I really enjoyed it. Yeah, it's I really liked it. So someone sent me a message on Instagram, but I don't have my phone because I gave it to my tail unfortunately, but they mentioned that the person because you know how I think it was a couple of episodes again now, but we mentioned that there was like a serial killer in Texas and he was targeting gay. Yes, yes, he has been caught. The listener told me, yeah, oh, thank goodness. Yeah, I don't know that. I know they we're trying to catch well, I don't. I don't know if they caught the one in Chicago, but I know that the police of a few months ago or a few weeks ago, I want to say a few months ago. I can't. I'm bad with time, guys, I'm sorry, but a few now. I don't know if they were telling me about Chicago or Texas. I know the Texas one was targeting woman, so yeah, yeah, I don't. I don't know, but I remember the one on one of the two was cotton, but the I remember the one from Texas. They had the police had closed off and fenced off this whole entire section and nobody was allowed in this like section of the city of a city, like you couldn't get in, you couldn't get out. It was crazy because they were like they were on this guy's tail and they were about it or girls. I don't. I don't know what it was, who it was or whatever, like the gender of the killer, but I mean it was probably man, probably most likely. But yeah, I'm not excluding anybody because I don't know, and they were like on this killer's tail, like they were about to catch them. They were in the same like the police and the and the killer were in the same area. So they fenced off this entire section with literal fences, like oh damn, and then nobody could get in and nobody could get out. Like so if you were trapped inside, you were going to be like investigated or whatever. I don't know if they caught anybody, but I know they were the one in Texas was targeting woman. Okay, well, yeah, the yeah, the listener messaged me told me someone was caught one of the two that we talked about, and I wish I had my phone so I could say who it was, but I don't have it. It's crazy. It was like crazy. I was like, you know, like you you kind of feel like serial killers or from like the eighties maybe nineties, but you had too active at the same time in two different parts of the United States. Yeah, it's wanted to me how someone could be a serial killer now, like we were talking about in the episode, because like we're on a constant state of surveillance and like not even just by the state, but people's selfies, people's videos. Oh yeah, like and then and then like everybody has a camera now it has a ring camera. Yeah, which is also what It's also wild to me is when how someone could like pass away and not be found until like way later. Yeah, some a track runner, Olympic track runner. Just she was pregnant, like thirty something weeks pregnant and she passed away and she wasn't found until like a week later. That's insane to me. Yeah, it's wild. It's also so sad. Okay, Yeah, I guess this brings us to the end of the episode because Sammy over here keeps crying, Well, do you have any spooky recommendations? No? Actually no again, I'm just I'm still reading The Haunting. So that's the only speaker recommendation that I have going on right now. Okay, do I have? I saw that Renfield the Vampire movie with Nicholas Cage and Nicholas Holt. I don't know if that's how you say his last name. That's on Peacock now about it. I haven't seen it. It's on Peacock and I want to watch it. And I saw that it was on Peacock. I'll probably watch it. Today, Carmen said it was good anyway, That's what I've been meaning to watch.
