Hi everyone. This is Christina and this is MJ and Carmen and this is another episode of a Spooky Tells, the podcast for all things spoogee and also true crime. That's right, we're a true crime and paranormal podcast now because we want to make the episodes longer. By we I mean me so yeah, because Casina does what she wants, because this is her podcast. We're just living in it. No, no, I'm not. This is a democracy, okay, it's not a dictatorship our face. O. Wow, I'm being exposed and I don't like it anyway. Today MJ has some psychoticas stories for us, yes, some more, and then she's get a balance because she has a migraine. Now they suck. She needs to rest. I did tell MJ she didn't have to be here and Carmen could read it, because Carmen has contractual obligation, right right, I'm gonna stick it out, like as long as it's not too bad. Yeah, yeah, as long as it's not too bad, but of course, yeah, and if you need to leave halfway after sentence, that's fine. I'm out. White flag. We're gonna miss you though, Okay, Well, before we get started, a listener story which Kerman has for us. And if you have a story that you want to send into the podcast, you can email a Spooky emails dot com. You can DM us on any of the socials you get submitted on Discord. You can call it a Spooky hotline. That number is in the show notes. There's a lot of options, a lot of ways. So yeah, we love receiving them. Kermen. Are you Are you ready? I am all right? Okay, Ola, ghoulish ladies. My name is Jessica. Hello, Jessica. I have a crazy experience that I recently started to remember. I try to keep it short. When I was around the age of nine or eleven, my family and die I had to temporarily move into a house. This house was straight out of the late seventies era, yellow and dark brown interior, from the mustard yellow walls to the dark brown carpet. Yuck, we live. Actually, I love mustard yellow, but I don't know about walls. That color mustard yellow is beautiful during autumn. Yes, I love wearing it. Yeah, a dark brown carpet, though I don't know about that. Yeah, I'm okay with mustard yellow furniture. Me too, Like I would like a couch like a yellow accent chair. Yeah, pillows. So anyway, Josica goes on. We lived in this house for no more than a few months, and in this time I could remember always feeling uneasy around this one closet with double doors in the living room area. One evening, me and my siblings were just watching TV after dinner when this heavy feeling was coming from behind me. I turned around and to my surprise, there was nothing there. So I returned to watching TV when all of a sudden, I see one of the closest doors open shut and open again to see two white eyes hovering in mid air. Oh, I screamed, No, no, she scrumped. I screamed and asked my sister if she saw the closet and she said no. When I look back to the closet door, it was closed like nothing was there. After this experience, nothing happened like that ever again. Those eyes were never seen again. Well that's good, I know. After that, we eventually moved away to a new home. Thank you for letting me share my ghost experience. If I have any more stories, I'd be sure to pass them along. And yes, hopefully you get hunted again. I'm like, hopefully not, but if you do, let us know. We'll be here next time you're haunted. Keep up the great work on the pod. I'll be listening to all the spookytails. Wow, that's so creepy. Yeah, it is creepy. It's like it's like whatever this ghost is trying to be Like GE's mosa It's like it was like, I'm going to get one more scared and then I'm gonna go, and then they're going to retire, like I can move on to my eternal rest until I scare this one. Jessica, you know what it reminds me. It reminds me of the emojis with the eyes looking sideways, just like going there. And that's the way that the ghost was side eyeing her, like you did not make that man, mind you, she's eleven, I don't know right right, that's true. The ghost was like, I know Lisa from class, copied your Lisa Frank style, and you let her get away with it. Side that's what it was thinking. No, but it's so funny, like elementary Beef is hilarious. If you have kids, you know, mine are too young. They're not there yet. My kids are like, mom, here's the drama. Okay, so so said this, and I was like, and I'd be like, really, tell me more, tell let's get some peak, gets out of her mug. No, But kids take it so seriously. Everything is like, you know, so serious. They copied me, mom. I don't understand. I've been watching the Grassy and some of the I mean, they kind of take it a little too far. But like it'll be like wearing the same dress too, like prom or the ugly pink dress thing. It's like a huge thing with like little kids. It's like they're trying to be like themselves and then here's like someone else in their little space, you know, like copying them, copying them, and it's like the worst thing ever. And I'm like, you, guys, it's fine, it's fine. No, it's not, MG, it's not. But then it's like if your kid has beef, you have beef right with the parents. Secretly. Yeah. If if she doesn't like, then I don't like. I don't like, and I don't like Bolina's mom either, or the granny, none of them. Oh my god. Okay, So I have like four legends one, two, three, four, So yes, they're they're pretty short though, so that's why it like I covered four because they're pretty short. So the first legend is La Lenda, and this is a sort of a horror story. Legend goes that in the heart of the mountain it is filled with metals and precious stone, and there is a cave that glitters where the walls are made of pure gold and the floor is made of pure silver. It's adorned with precious stones that shine brilliantly in the cave and during the days of celebration and festivals, when the night falls on top of there is a woman who appears who is said to be indescribably beautiful. Of course, she is seductive. She bewitches men and she puts them in a trance. She promises to take them to the cave that's full of riches and magic, but there's one condition. Never leave. She must carry them in her arms to the city's basilica so they can get married. She's going to carry them. They are also told not to look back during the journey to the basilica. As the journey takes place and they get closer to their destination, horrifying screams begin. Sounds that are described to be coming from the underworld are heard. The men, unable to keep their promises about not looking back, give in in fear. This is where the Enchanting Woman's real form appears, and she appears to the men as a horrifying snake, and she ends the life of the men she carries it look back exactly. Should never look back. I'm gonna say it. Whenever there's a legend where someone's specifically a man, it's always a man. I don't know why. They're not supposed to look back, Like ten out of ten they're going to look back. They're going to look back. Yeah, it's like pushing the red button. You know, you told someone don't push the red button and they're like, I'm going to do it. Not to do it, I would be so dead. Yeah, it's the same. I'd be like, like a split second, I'll be like, what's what's behind us? Yeah? No, immediately I would turn back, Like that's what I'm saying. Actually, it's not even a man, because I know I would do it. I'd be in her arms, Like, but but would it have a nice to be carried in the last moment life like yeah, you know, be taken care of, like this the first time. We aren't let down deadly woman, snake a sneakly woman. Yeah, I mean checks out. Out of all things, the only person or a thing that won't let us down until they kill us until Yeah, what she said, don't look bad? I mean, I mean technically, I mean, well, I guess it depends she might not put us down on the floor, so technically she might not even let us down. You're right, true, You're right. Okay. So the next legend is legend of the Evan Mine. And another popular legend is that of the Van Mind. And this legend is back from the mining boom in Mexico, which happened between fifteen eighty six and nineteen sixties. Yeah, it's the They were mining this mine for like three hundred years, damn. So this mine was exploited for its deposits and it was one of the most important minds in all of the Americas. Legend says that there was a miner named Roke, and one day, while he was preparing for his day in the mine, he found something interesting, a large silver rock. Excited for what this discovery could mean, he hid the rock from his companion. He didn't want to share what belonged to him. It was his. He found it. Why should he share something that he found? He hid it in a place only he knew. However, by the end of the day he went back to the hiding place, the large silver rock was gone. He became enraged, and he began screaming and shouting curses inside the mine, as though the ed and mine could hear him talking. Smack, it returned that the mind began to shake, and then a landslide claim him forever buried in the mine. It is said that his face is engraved on a rock in the mine, Oh my God, which can be seen through a guided tour, and they will take you to the place where the incident happened. There are many warnings to anyone who visits the mind. If you find gold or silver in the mind, do not hide it, but sure so you don't find yourself also buried. And this mine is from the images I found online. It's like a museum and you can go there and can see all the fossils and stuff found there and explore it. But I don't know if like you can act. I tried looking for the face in the rocks, and I couldn't find any So, I don't know if this is like a little just legend. Clearly we need to go and find it ourselves. How creepy if there's like someone that carved just the face. I mean, even if it's like someone who carved it exactly, that's that's so weird. Yeah, yeah, it's very and I mean it has to be there because they show it during tours mm hmm. Or it could be like one of those things like like you know how human brains just look for shapes and it just so happened to look like a face, which either way it's no weard. Yeah. So the next legend is the legend of Tres Cruses. And in seventeen sixty three, there was a man of high respect that lived in Zacatecas. His name was Don Diegove Gaina. He agreed to welcome his niece into his home when she was orphaned Biatrice Monada. His niece was a beautiful woman, and she quickly became the talk of Lacaye Lastress Cruses. She had many suitors, However, her heart belonged to a young indigenous man named Gabriel. She had met him at a town festival and Gabriel serenaded Beatrice every night. She would appear on her balcony when he serenaded her. That's just so cute. Yeah, her uncle Don Diego didn't think love or romance was anything more than a story or wishful thinking. He decided who she married, and he decided that she would marry none other than his own son, Beatrice fucking uncle Biax's cousin, Antonio de Gaynard. It's sweet Home Alabama anyways, Antonio was in love with her and he wanted to make her his wife. Grows the cousin, right, yeah, the cousin. During one of the serenades, Don Diego finds out that Gabriel and Beatrice loved each other, and he was angry this indigenous man was after his niece. In a fit of rage, she decides to end the love affair and orders Gabriel to leave. Gabriel out of respect obeys, however, not before letting Don Diego know that he is leaving not because he's afraid, but out of honor. Don Diego snaps. He takes Gabriel's words as a slight to him, and Don Diego draws his sword and tries to attack Gabriel. The two fight, Don Diego is killed with his own weapon. Yes, okay, so Gabriel one. Gabriel in shock over what transpired, he becomes distracted, right like, so he's like freaking out and a servant stabs Gabriel, killing him. Uh why does the servan get involved? I don't know. Paycheck. Maybe he was like, oh, I'm not gonna get paid, but the sun's still alive. I don't know. Stabbed yeah, exact line, yes, yes, And Patrice is watching everything from her balcony. She faints from the horror and falls off the balcony and the blow kills her. Oh my god, this is terrible. Yes, this is like keeps on escalating. Her body ends on top of both Don Diego and Gabriel. Since then, the street has been named Tres Cruces or three crosses, like the three tombstone process. And that's the legend of Lacaye. So what a legend? Like it was a legend. It had it all. It really did. Love, betrayal, stacked bodies, bodies and bodies and bodies. Wow. No, it was a plot twist though it was. I did not expect her to land on top of him. That was crazy. The last legend is and Mathilde Cabrera was a beautiful young woman who came from a very conservative religious family. She lived in a big house. She played the piano and people who would pass by the home could see through the window of the living room you could see her playing the piano. During one of her visits to the church, Matilde met the love of her life, a young man who attended the same church. He soon fell in love with her, and he would pass by her home every day. She placed a mirror in the window of the study so she could see him walk on the street in front of her house. That's cute. They would converse through signs from a distance, and every day she would dress in her best outfits, play piano for him and checked. One day, the man disappeared and Matilde didn't know that he had joined the army. She never saw him again. Oh, she never gave up hope that she would one day see him again, and she became the crazy woman with the mirror. She would wait for him every afternoon. However, he never returned. He had died without seeing her face again. From then on the street was called like kayevel Espejo or elk and yes it's a home you could actually visit. Wow, and like the entire street was named after her peculiar behavior that's so sad blasts but yeah, and a piano. What's her name again? Matilda? Poor Mati I was gonna say poor Batries and I was like that name. That was the last one. Oh no, wonder it was in your head? Wait? Why oh that was the last one? Yeah, okay, okay, yeah, someone that that fell off the balcony and okay, that's why I was singing bad threes then okay, and this is Mattile. Your stories all had a theme. That first two were like mine women silver gold, and these two were tragic love stories. Yes, there's like a lot of tragic love stories in Saktas because like, in a way, I guess the one that I covered last week was was cute, but I find it kind of sad that they chopped down the tree. I don't know. I'm one of those people that when I see a tree chop I like, I feel this sadness. You have mentioned that, Yeah, it makes me so sad and angry when I see people pudumb a tree. I don't know why. It's irrational. I understand I'm just like, that's so sad. You're just one with nature, that's all. Yeah. Yeah, what do they say, like a like a green witch or something? I wish I cannot keep plants alive to Oh never mind, that doesn't sound right now I have a black thumb. Wow whoa Okay, I take it back. I was not expecting that. Okay, okay, wow, Well I loved all of those. I loved all of those. Okay, is this where you leave us? I'm dry? Do you want? My headache hasn't gotten worse, It's still there, like it's building. But I don't know. It's up to you guys, Like, well, how you feel? Are It's up to you? How do you feel? I'm okay, I think I could like push on. Okay, okay, perfect, Okay, So I have a case for you guys that I had no idea about because it takes place in Mexico, and I'm sorry, I've been watching the grasscene. I feel like I accidentally keep saying about like a Canadian about a boat, a boat. Oh my god, I'm stuck in my head. Now you're speaking of Canadian. It's like there's a sound on TikTok going around that's like, what does it say? B b L drizzy bbl? Oh my god? And then there was was it the braids And it's just been stuck in my head. I wasn't in my head having a little party for beating the same rights. Oh man, yeah, I keep hearing that, and then just like a minor Oh, that's been stuck in my head. And then I randomly just the word crody, like how he says, Oh my god. Anyway, all that's been very stuck in my head. And I just passed the episode where Jimmy slash Drake gets shot into grassy. So wow, did you think to yourself bb la, like all of this was unfolding, and I had no idea because I had been bench in the grassy and that's all I had been doing in my free time. I had not been doing anything else. And then I finally opened like Twitter and I started seeing things about what's Lamar's, like, what's happening? And then I listened to Kendrick Lamar songs first, because that's like, I don't I think the last time I listened to Drake was like two thousand and eleven. I've never listened. I don't know. There was something about Drake I can't. I guess it's his voice. Maybe I don't know. He just I liked some songs, like the one he had with Rihanna. Mm hmmm. Yeah. Some of it's like his first CD's all. I really listened to the first and second ones. But Kendrick Lamars was the weekend. I just love him. Yeah yeah, but yeah, I had no idea what was happening, what was unfolding, and then I listened to everything and I just made a thing. Ever its second hand right now. Yeah, I've been having a great time. Yeah, No, it was a wild weekend. M Jay sent me and then I sent it to Carmen. But a Mettinget version oh bbl bb and Drake bb bbl Drake bb yeah, and it's it's meddingan. I'm like, what is happening? And then they start that oh v ho. Yeah. So that's what going on. And so yeah, and sure if I accidentally say about like a canadianist because I've been watching the Grassi anyway, Okay, So yeah, I have a case for you guys, and it's from Mexico. I've never heard of them. So it's the case of Victoria Pamela and Mario Science. And I think if it involves a woman and a man, I think we know where this is going. Content warning for femicide. So Victoria Pamela Salas turned twenty three on August thirteen, twenty seventeen. She was born Augustary first, nineteen ninety four, in Mexico City. She was the middle child. When she was young, her mother married Sarador Salas, adopted her, her older sister and her younger brother, and she had a loving family, a good upbringing, even though that they didn't have a lot of money in the family. They were lower income. Her friends and family called her Pame. She loved trying on new clothes, getting dolled up, putting makeup on. That was like her favorite pastime. And taking selfies. I love it. In the room she shared with her grandmother, she had like twenty pairs of shoes. Oh, she loves shoes and clothes, and she did have to drop out of high school to make ends meet, to help her parents make ends meet, and she figured she could go back to school just whenever the times were better. In twenty fifteen, she started working as a salesperson and she sold credit cards, which I know, there's like a better term to say that, because you don't like sell a credit card. She got people to sign up for credit cards, so this brought in a lot more money than before. And so this was enough to help her parents and for her to pay for all her shoes and her clothes, and for her to have fun. She must love that. Yeah, yeah, so she was out in the clubs. But you know, she's twenty three, she's young, so well, I think I guess when she got this job, she was twenty one, maybe twenty twenty one. So during one of her outings, her nighttime outings, she met Mario Science and he was twenty seven, so six years older than herself. Victoria didn't know who he was, but most of Mexico did, at least skateboarding fans, because yeah, and I don't know who he was either. So he had like a bunch of social media followers on Twitter and Instagram. He was a pro skater. He was one of the first, actually, he was the first to receive sponsorships for skating in Mexico. So a big deal, A big deal for skaters, and I don't know people who follow skating. I guess I still wouldn't know who. I saw his fiction. I'm like, I don't know who. I don't know Tony Hawk. Yeah, I was like, what's his last name? Yeah? Same? And then the other guy that wasn't also in the games, Bam Margera. That's not his name. He was a skater, wasn't he the one from the show, the reality show or whatever, the little pranking one. So I don't know, maybe this guy won the X Games or something, but because he I mean he he was a pro skater. He received sponsorships for his skating. He even opened several skate stores in Mexico City. So yeah, Mario Science and Victoria had met and they fell in love. But it was a tumultuous relationship from the beginning. They argued, they fought, they broke up, they got back together, and a lot of the fighting and the relationship came from Mario telling Victoria that he didn't have time for her because he had a young son and he had to spend time with him. But that was what he was telling her, and like, I mean, come on, I don't buy it. And yeah, this this upset her, and so she would go home crying to her mom, telling her that the relationship was too chaotic, there was too much fighting, like she was done. And so two years after they met, she decided to start planning her future without Mario. She was looking for better jobs so she could help her parents buy a house. And then on her twenty third birthday twenty seventeen, she told her mom, oh, he called, he called, and she was talking about Mario. She told her mom, Gonzuelo, that Mario was going to stop by her work pick her up and they were going to go to a party together to celebrate. And Gonzoelo knew that this wasn't the original plans that they had for Victoria's birthday, but she didn't tell her anything because she just wanted Victoria to be happy, and I mean, she's an adult and whatever. She just yeah, she just wants to support her. Later, she saw Victoria upload her a picture of herself in a pink dress, her lips are done, the makeup is on point, she's smiling, she's looking great. Mario is in the background, like looking down or something. Yeah, yeah, Like you can even be bothered to like look up for the picture. I guess it's my impression of it, you know what. But I'll just send it to you guys. You could be reading into it. I could be reading into it because maybe she just took it without telling it that I'm looking. Yeah, but I will continue to read into it. All right. I've sent the picture. I've seen her picture before, you have, yeah, and that's him, and I'm like, I had never seen him before, So I don't know. I can't never paint my cupid's bow that good or like line it that could maybe it doesn't. I just don't have a sharp like lip line in general. So I think it's he has a really sharp one. Yeah, she has a really sharp one. Hers dips Prettyana doesn't like that too. I guess that's just a shape of their lips. But yeah, so he is the pro skater. And whenever I do upload video, finally I have to edit them. I don't know. It's just like I've put it out for so long and now and I know it's not hard to do, but it's just like I've put her off for so long that I'm like daunting and editing all these videos that I'm behind. Damn. But when I upload the video, I will put these pictures up of them so that you know what they look like. We'll also post them to Instagram when we upload the that we have this episode out. So yeah, that's Mario and that that's Victoria, and so yeah, on her twenty third birthday, they were going to go out to a party together. Oh yeah, right, that's not where it was. She uploaded a picture of herself and he looks distracted and she's smiling. So yeah, anyway, she looked happy. Everything seemed fine until the next day. Victoria wasn't back, even though you know, she told her family she was going to be back. Gonzuelo, her mom sent her a message asking where she was, and Victoria replied telling her that she would be back the next day. But the next day came and she still wasn't back. Gonzuelo sent her another message, and then Victoria replied that her job had given her a day off and Mario was going to take her to Koyokok, which is like a tourist area in Morelos. And now it was getting suspicious because this wasn't like her to one not like call them, to not be home, then to like not go to work, and to randomly have a day off, like none of this sounded normal. But her message is still they sounded like her. So her family they still even though they were like, this is weird, they let it slide another day Salad. Her dad sent another message that afternoon and Victoria told them again she would be back tomorrow. But then it was September two and she was still not back. With how much day that had passed though four oh okay o three my bad, no, my god, count three, So she was still not back, and she was not answering messages anymore. She wasn't even replying, and now they were even more concerned. Then the morning of the third there was a knock on the door. Gonzuelo opened the door and thinking that it was Victoria, but instead it was two officers at the door, and they informed Gonsuela that she needed to go to the office in tel Pan and they wouldn't tell her why. So she was gonna go get a pencil to write down the address. While she was doing that, officers asked her if she knew Mario's science and she was like, yeah, that's my daughter's boyfriend. And then they were like, all right, tell us everything you know about him because we need to locate him. And this said Gonzola off. She was like, what do you mean you need to locate him? Oh my god. She's like, just tell me what's going on? Yeah, And I feel like if they just would have explained right away, baby, they wouldn't. But like this just makes him more scary. I mean, you you never know, like it's really hard to give people bad news. It's horrible. Yeah, and you know it's hard to know what to say and yeah, so FTP. But I don't blame them now, you're right, you're right. So they set her off. She was like, where's my daughter? Why do you need to know everything about Mario? Where are they? Why isn't she here? She just kept asking a question after question. That is better to be up front right away, So yeah, that's always I would think. So yeah. So then officers were like, all right, well we need to talk to like Salvador because she's not listening anymore. She's just freaking out, understandably. So so then they finally talked to Salvadora and they tell him the terrible news that Victoria Pamela, that she had been murdered in Hotel Novo and Traalpan, which was kind of nearby but now super close to them. Salolos struggled to keep himself together, but he had to go identify her, and so when he went over there, officers told him what had happened. Based on the hotel employees testimony, on the night of September first, hotel employees saw a couple arrived together. Later the couple, the guy left this hotel room and said like, oh, she's just gonna be a little bit longer, and he went to the garage where like the cars are located, and he never came back. Hours later, they finally checked the hotel. So that's like the stage of what happened. So on the night of the September first, the hotel employees saw Mario and Victoria arrive at the hotel. They stayed in room twenty and asked for peers and food. When the worker took their food, Marieo was very upset because the WiFi wasn't working. He called three different employees and made them enter the password on three different phones different times, and he was just very rude. And then around five thirty in the morning, he left the room and told them that Victoria was going to stay a while longer. He left the garage to go get his car, and he, yeah, never came back. Hotel employees waited and waited, but then they got concerned because the checkout time came and went and she was still knock coming out of the room. So finally they went in to see what was going on. They knocked on the door and nobody answered, so then they unlocked the door, went in and the room was torn apart. It was a mess. There was blood everywhere. Oh god. But they still didn't see Victoria right away, but they heard the shower running, so they went over there to look, and of course they were horrified went what they saw because she was under the shower. The water was hot, all the way hot, so her skin was like, you know, already like getting very burned. Yeah. Uh, and it's not a pretty sis. As someone who has seen basically this exact scenario in the RV, yeah, it's terrible. It's terrible to come across this, and so the water was running still they found her. Yeah, her skin was burned. She had cuts and bruises everywhere and a deep cut across her neck. Go so like, obviously if they saw him leaving, like, who do you think? I don't think there's a question about who did this? Yeah, he's stupid as Yeah. If two people entered a room, one prison left the room, and hours later no one else went in her out, and one person who did not leave the room is dead, like, come on the case wrote itself like. So she was transferred to the forensic institution and it was determined she had been under the water for ten hours when she was found. The cause of death was the cut to her neck, and there were other fingerprints and DNA that they still needed to figure out who they belonged to. But like investigators, they didn't have the results yet, but they figured it was probably Mario who was in the room. So the funeral was very quick, very fast. It was that Sunday, the third, and everyone was shocked when Matio walked into the funeral because he was the last person to see her. They're like, what the hell are you doing here? Basically yanikes. Yeah, he walked up to Gonzuelo and gave her his condolences and then said like, oh, I can't believe she's gone. She was already suspicious of him, because you know, he was the last person to see her alive. Nobody wanted him there. But then on top of that, his ass was walking around the funeral with the piece of paper that he was saying was his alibi, like proof, like what the hell, why are you carrying that shit on you? I'm sorry, how drake of him? No, no, that's his argument. Uh no, not true basically, because then this is ridiculous. Oh my god, it kids, absolutely what was he thinking? So this piece of paper was a receipt for tires, new tires, because his alibi is that he was with his son and friend all day. That night he drove his friend home, his tires popped, all four of them. Oh, and then that paper is and it's unclear to me from the articles I read, if the paper was the receipt for the tires purchased to replace the four or if it was like the nunciak he made with the police, like a report about his tires a cantel because once some articles said it was a report, and other articles said it was a receipt. Okay, but it's something with the timestamp. Yes, but I think after pond further reading, I think he had both. I think he did go make a supposed report when this happened, and he had a receipt of new tires. Of course, that doesn't mean he bought the receipt himself, Like this man is rich, he could have sent a friend to buy the tires, like come on right. And then the hotel staff he took in at the hotel and then he told them he was leaving. Yeah. Yeah, they literally saw him doing this. And also, when the hell are you carrying this piece of paper that's your proof that you this wasn't you? Like, why are you doing that at the funeral of all places? Yeah, So this like made all of her family mad, like what the hell are you doing? They call the police. The police arrived to arrest him. Oh okay, good, but there wasn't enough evidence, no, like forensic evidence they had the hotel people say he was there circumstantial, yeah, but there was no physical evidence tying him to like her anything that like anything really, So they questioned him, but they had to let him go, but he was announced a percent of interest, and you know when they say you're a percent of interest, you can't leave. You had to stay in the area for further questioning when the occasion comes. In October. So the following month of twenty seventeen, the last reports from forensics were available, and they did find Mario's DNA in Victoria's nails. So with this now they could say, yeah, she fought her assailant and her assailant was Mario, so that's how the DNA ended up in her fingernails, so they could finally arrest him. They put out a warrant, but this mother worker was on the run already. He had left the country. Interpol put out like a you know, whatever they put out, I don't know what they're called, like a bolo. I don't know if that's what they're called. I'm not sure what they call it, but I know what you're saying. Yeah, like that, they're searching for this person. Mexican police were looking for him. He was nowhere to be found. The family continued to pray for his capture, and they believed he could be on the run because he was a rich you know, pro skater so he could afford this. They even had to tell Victoria's poor grandmother, who she shared the room with, that she had died in a car accident, because they didn't want to make her more sick, because she was already, like, I don't know what she was sick from, but she was not doing well and they didn't want to worry her more. And just when they started thinking he would never be caught, he reappeared on TV. The Audacity Yes, a TV station put out a video of him saying that the police had put on a show to make him look guilty, that he was never near Victoria on that night, and he was not a fugionative. His lawyer had been representing him this whole time, so he was not actually on the run. There was no need to keep looking for him. He would turn himself in though he was innocent. Records would show that he's innocent. That's why the was being played on TV and social media. So then on March thirty, first, he twenty nineteen, he showed up to a commercial center in Mexico City and he was arrested. He was charged with the femicide of Victoria Pamela, though her mom Consuelo just felt like this was a show. They were just doing it to like try and say, oh, look look at us solving crimes. Like she didn't really believe anything's going to happen. Then the same channel after his arrest was showing another video of Marion giving a different account of the night, and I'm like, what is happening? He shouldn't even be talking to the TV like this number one thing, like if you did do something, or even if you didn't, don't talk like, yeah, just shut the fuck up his nay for he doesn't seem like it. No, really, all the injuries from the skating falling on it, yeah you were thinking. Yeah. So he was on TV giving a different account of the night that their daughter died. So this TV channel, the same one that aired the previous video, had Matteo on saying that that night he went to pick Victoria up. They went to visit a friend whose name was Katya. Together, then Victoria went somewhere else and he doesn't know where. The next day, Victoria showed up at his job. They hung out, and so he left her with a worker of one of his stores and a friend worker slash friend. So then he didn't see her. The rest of the night. He was hanging out with his friend and his son, and there is video footage of him arriving home to a flood. His friends arrived to help him with his house, and there's footage that shows them they're cleaning. There's also footage of them going to tacos. Then at eleven PM, there's like street surveillance or something showing Mario's car. He's waiting for a grua and I don't remember the word grua and like eclutu thank you, yes, thanks, yeah, So he's waiting for the toutra and there's footage of this or pictures and so according to Mario, this meant that he was not in the same place as Victoria. And there's an employee of his last friend, Alette, who also says Victoria was with her and her boyfriend until like one or two am, and they saw her leave with the man who has a foreign accent, And there's footage of her at the bar, like talking to a guy. There is but like at a bar, you're gonna talk to different people throughout the night, and there's footage of Victoria with a man on a video that honestly kind of resembles the clothing that Mario wears, so damn. I mean, like, was never said who it was, but it could have been him. Yeah, But the friends that were there swear this was a different man because she was a party girl and she could not be trusting. So now they're trying to blame her. Yes, and this was very different than the testimony of the hotel workers. They're like, we saw him, Yeah, who saw Mario and Victoria together on the second of September. And so then another other video started popping up on social media and YouTube, claiming Victoria was a drug user and that she was violent and an alcoholic to try to defame her. Mm hmm exactly, But the autopsy like proved even if that were true, it wouldn't mean she deserved to be murdered. Now, but they're trying to pick her in a bad light to blame her for her own murder. But the autopsy showed that she had not taken any drugs and there was only a small amount of alcohol, not even enough to be drunk in her system on the night she was more And so obviously her parents are outraged because they're like, who is spreading these lives about our daughter, Like, yeah, she liked to have fun, but she was responsible and this, I mean everyone that knew her said this, except for Mario and his friends with him and his camp probably spreading all this shit. Yeah yeah, Mario and his skate fans, they rang with this. Then there were also others demanding justice for Victoria on Twitter. It was a hashtag. As a trial date came closer, the hotel owner announced he did not have footage of the two together, even though this footage previously existed, so they started to believe that Mario was paying people off to get rid of evidence, which yeah, I believe. During the trial, Mario's employee Adlette, the one who said Victoria was with her and her boyfriend, she didn't show up to testify, so it's already not looking good for Mario. His alibi was turned apart. The prosecution was like, I mean, you could have easily sent a friend for the paperwork for your new tires. Just because there's small footage of you here and there at your house, ses to me, you didn't leave to go do this, Like none of this is proof of anything. There's also like phone GPS couldn't place their phones, both of their phones in the hotel that night. But then a very strange like thing happened. Mario's phone pinged at the hotel room two days after Victoria's death. So people or persecution believes that this was him back at the hotel getting them to erase the footage. So like it just didn't look good for him. It was like everything was, everything that he tried to do to make himself look innocent was looking worse and worse. So then February fourth, twenty twenty two, there was a trial. Victoria's family was present. After several hours of the liberal, he was found guilty and on the eleventh of February there was a second trial, which is the one to like announce the sentence, and he was sentenced to forty five years for the femicide of Victoria Pamela Salas. He was also made to pay for the funeral costs of the family and to pay them four hundred and eighty five thousand pestles in damages and consolo. Her mom, you know, was is on record saying, like, you know, obviously none of this brings her back, but like it means justice was served, and that's something and even though he was found guilty, his little skater fans continue to support him. There's pictures of them like at the trial with you know science that say medio science as you sente loser behavior. Yeah, medio science libre no massino se la carce. No, we're not some people in jail. And he still made a statement saying he was like innocent and he was being targeted for this murder, that they needed a scapegoat. But there's literal evidence like pointing to himself very and yeah, that is the case of Victoria. I'm so sad. Yeah, she was so young. Did they ever find out why he did it? Like because the man, I mean yes, but like like like an actual reason. No, then there's no actual reason. But I think I mean just he seemed to have a temper just based on like the how she said, like there's so much arguing and fighting in the relationship, but she yeahd some of it could have been caused by her, But also like the employee saying that he was already in like a bad mood, being super rude to them about the Wi Fi password. So honestly, they I mean, it seems to be that they just fought and then it went too far on his end, and he like a man that murders, they have like rage problems and you know, one day it goes too far and woman hating problems. Yeah, yeah, yeah, but there was no like like, oh I caught her talking to a guy, so I reacted like this, like nothing, yeah, none of that. He's just like that is something. He's the extreme version of my cheesemo and sexism. M yeah. And I didn't write it down, but she that year that was like the fiftieth something femicide and no, it was like one hundred something, one hundred and fifty something my femicide in Mexico City alone, and then the one thousand, one hundred something femicide in Mexico at the time of her murder, which was September second. Wow, So the year hadn't even been over and it was already that high. And then we talked about how femicides are increasing or not really like solved, and I mean in a bunch of cases throughout a bunch of different episodes. And this is another femicide, yeah, but one that actually you know, he was sentenced found guilty. Yeah, so many of them are unsolved or like they get away with it. Yeah, at least they caught him. Yeah, yeah, that's very true. So yeah, that brings us to the end of the episode. I guess we'll hit a quick outbreak here and then come back with speak your recommendations. Okay, and we're back. Do you have any Speaguara recommendations? Either one of you? I do, okay to tell I don't so you guys, Okay. I started watching Under the Bridge on Hulu. I have either of you heard of it? No? So it's a show based on a book, based on a actual like it's a true crime book from a well, I don't know. Yeah what happens. I'm assuming it's a murder, but I don't know yet because I try looking for the books I could read ahead to find out what happens, because it's like a weekly thing on Hulu. It's not you can't binge it. And I didn't know them when I started watching it, and I watched all the available episodes last week when I watched it was four of them. So I tried to look for the book and it's not on Spotify and it's not a freaking Libby. So I don't know, but I do want to try to look for it, like you know, to read in the future, but it's based on a crime that happened in Canada. And sorry, every time I say Canada to fight the urge. Oh speaking of Canada, I'm like, why I has Canada come up so much this episode Canada centric? Every time I say Canada, had to fight the urge to not say Kannada, like Michael Scott when he's trying to make it sound foreign when he's gonna go traveler. Anyway, Yeah, these group of teens who they were like foster kids, kids that were going through hard times, but they like made up this gang they call themselves CNC and I forgot already. It was like crib mafia something cartel, crib mafia cartel because they were obsessed with like hip hop culture, gang culture from the United States, rap all that. And anyway, there's this girl who she's like, her family's from India, she's a child of immigrants, and so she doesn't fit in and then she becomes friends with these girls, but like they're not good girls, they're not good people. They manipulate the CMC are girls. Yes they're girls, but it's same, but it's not good. But Anyway, she becomes friends with them, but they like rob from her house. But it's like everything's like discreetly, step by step. So and she wants nothing more than to have friends. She doesn't she didn't have friends before that. She was totally I know. And so anyway, it culminates, not culminates, because it's still going on. But what happens with these friends. They're like always mean to her, like bullying her with She's like the little Black Sheep. Both a friend group, I guess, and they I forgot what exactly happens that then this girl and I forgot when the name is already, but she starts she steals the main gay girl again, it'll makes sense when you watch it. Anyway, she steals her phone book because this is from the nineties, and she starts calling up everybody in the phone book and spraying rumors about her. So then the girl gets mad and then she gets the CNC to jump her, but it goes too far. They kill her. Yeah, the last episode I just watched, they find her body. So, but it's weird. I so don't know what exactly happens because in the video footage that they law enforcement has, it shows so every she's running from the group of like ten or more kids and it's girls and boys that jump her and they're chasing her, and she goes under a bridge and they follow her there. Then the group comes back up and I don't remember how much more time after she comes back up from the bridge, so she survives past being jumped. But then when they find her body, she has severe, severe injuries, and the corners like, there's no way she could have survived and walked up the bridge with these injuries. So something happened to her still after she's jumped, and I don't know what yet because I have to wait for the next episode. And that's why I try to looking for the book Wow and the Lily Gladstone. I don't know if because I've heard of her, I haven't actually watched. Yes, Okay, well she's the one of the officers in the show and she's amazing. Okay, well I'm sold. I'm gonna watch now, but I'm going to wait until there's no episode. Yes, I wish I had done that. I can binge. And one more thing, I am still reading Lota, which is my spooky recommendation from last week, but now I have a favorite. Another favorite story the one about the Lobby song. That one is so good. As you have been telling me about the book, Cremen, I'm like, what does what does this book not have? Because you've had all of Lobi's songs, all the legends when this like everything. Yeah, there was a comment from someone on Patroon and I also loved the book. I forgot to tell you. Oh wow, okay, well things, Yeah, I gotta read it. I got to read it. M hmm. That's why I do not Okay, Yeah, I don't have spooky recommendations because again, I have only been watching The Grassy. I fear now that I'm like obsessively watching it. I'm like, okay, I think this is a hyperfixation. I don't even think like I'm enjoying it as much as I just figure I need to finish it now. So yeah, I'm a A few days ago, I had reached the part where Jimmy gets shot Jimmy slush drink. But now I'm like, in season eight, so Jimmy's class, Drake's class, their seniors. Now, wow, that's what I'm almost done with high school? Yeah, yeah, because that's all I've been doing in my free time. I've also been drowning in a lot of work. So yeah, the little free time that I have, sometimes I'll have The Grassy on while I'm like researching or writing. So I think that's why I've been able to watch more of it. Yeah, because when you're doing that, you want to watch something you've already seen. Yeah, I don't want to watch something new that I don't know what's going on. And somehow, even though we watched Car Carman and I watched The Grassy years ago, I've noticed that the episodes come on and I'm like, I remember almost everything. So it's because it was always on. Yeah, I could write it was always on Prince, so I remember everything that happens, same fresh Prince soon. Yeah. So yeah, and it's fun. I'm still laughing at all the streaks off it's happening as as I am, like, wow, I started watching The Grass again. Honestly, it's been like one of the best weekends of my life. Yeah. The memes have been amazing. The beats from Kendrick, I mean amazing. I'm also dying at when he's like, I hate the way you walk, I hate the way you look that, I hate the yeah, I did that to my running playlist, but I wish I could just replay that part by itself. Yeah, all of them, not like us with the grams. What is the other one? Six sixteen in La, sixteen in La. There's one more that I'm missing from six sixteen Euphoria? Thank you director? Was he like a director or producer's like the of Euphoria, which is like a show that hyper sexualizes teens, And he's like, no, I'm like, there's like so much the red question. Yeah, behavior that is recorded from him? Did I see two decades? Yeah, and likes defending this No. Also how like Kendricks didn't even like name Million Millie Bobby Brown. And then yeah, Drake comes down. He's like, yeah, and it's Millie Bobby Brown. But you know what, like what he's he's like bringing it up himself. But yeah, I saw someone meme it, and it's like Drake has like miss me, dis me, diss me, now you got to kiss me? Like what? It was so funny because that's literally the energy he gives off. No, I I agree, Like I mean, like years ago, I did listen to Drake and I'm like, I wouldn't say he's like this like amazing rapper. I think he just makes like not pop. It's like Kendrick said, I like Drake with the melodies, but now when he's trying to act tough. Yeah, And I just couldn't never to take him seriously because of how much Degrassy I watched. Yeah, so when you started when his music career was taking off, I'm like, like starting from the bottom. Like, no, sir, you did not start from the bottom. You don't got a light like that. I'm a child actor on the Grassy. You started from Degrassy. You started from the Yeah, Degrassy. Now you're here, and have you've seen some of the Digrassi storylines? You just can't take Jimmy seriously. Oh there's literally getting massaged. Yes, I hate that episode. Yeah, yeah, but no, there's another episode when before he gets shot, Jimmy and his best friend Spinner, who is uh a white boy that I love back then when I was a teen because we watched the s teens and yeah, I don't know, I don't know why I like Spinner looking back, I like, what was I thinking? But let me send you Spinner day. Yeah show, I'm because she doesn't know what we're talking about. We'll post I'm lost. Oh you need to watch The Grassy. That's we need to have a digress see marathon? Wait where is it? Where is it on Max? But it's also on to be all of it for free? Okay, I have it on to be Okay. Oh yeah, it's on to be and it's on Max. But kremen, you have my Max infos Okay, I have Max Okay, perfect. Yeah, don't don't plost that up on Max. Even as a if you're watching it as an adult for the first time, it's still like it isn't It's still a fun watch, like you're like, what is happening? But there's a part where Jimmy and Spinner are wrapping together and they're like, oh, get back in the kitchen, yo, Like it's so yeah, like my god, cringch Yeah, secondhand embarrassment. We're here here, hairstyles, hold on, that's so like nineties. Yeah, And that's why that's why I could never take Drake seriously because of you know, The Grassy, And it's just insane to me that people can take them seriously as a rapper, Like I think it has hit them seriously. Yeah, yeah, yeah, but when he's trying to start these like rap beafs, I'm like, I'm sorry, no, he's Jimmy when he starts trying to act up like like Kendrick has his whole like his writing as they study it in Harvard. So isn't he like a like like a Pulitzer winner whatever, right, So I can't pronounce that? Yes, And for a rap album, do you know how hard that it? I think he's like probably one of the only ones. I don't know if he's the first or one of the only ones that have it for because those are given to like writing, like people who write like you know books or I think books. I'm pretty sure books are like yeah, like hit pieces and articles. Yeah, and people who compose symphonies. It's pretty much unheard of for like rap. But oh my god. I went down the rabbit hole for like the dissecting of his dissess and I was like, oh my god, he's like triple on top, like this means that and this end is yeah, oh my god, Like do you know the meme with the mind blower knows me the entire time, And it's so funny because like Drake fans are like oh, like if people have to look up what you're saying, like it's not good and it's like stop, it makes it more fun, like what are you talking about? Just just that make your illiterate? And then that did you see that? Like professor that? Oh my god, he's he goes in and talks about like dissecting Kendrick's lyrics and stuff, and then he's like, this is why you have to have like some kind of like, uh, I don't know what he said, media, yeah, media literacy and something else. He said something else. Oh yeah, that's analysis. God, if if I was a Drake fan, I'd be so offended right now. I got to find it and send it to you guys. It was. It was a clip on Twitter and with the outfit he has on literally why I can't take Drake seriously? And if a listener's like, what's happening, it's I showed I sent Carmen and an MJ the scene from the Grassy that I'm talking about where Jimmy and Spinner wrapped together. Oh my god, those poes they do. Oh god, it's so cringe. Yeah yeah, okay, well yeah, I mean let us know what side are you on? Tim Kendrick over here. I think we're wrong in this podcast. Yeah we are team Kendrack. Yes, so yeah, I don't know, say a spooky and okay, watch out for yellow eyes behind you. Share the diamonds or whatever it was that he found.
