Hi, this is Christina, and this is as Spooky Tales, the podcast for all Things as Spooky. Today we are taking in an actual break for once because it was just Christmas and we were just together. I flew to Sea Carmen and we had posole when we went to see Christmas lights, we opened presents, we listened to a lot of music, and like always, we did not record together even though we said we were going to, because we were just too busy enjoying each other's company. So instead, here is a Patreon episode, and you know this way, you get a little sink peak and if you like what you listen, then you can check out Patreon officially and Patreon members don't worry, we will have bonus episodes to make up for not having an episode today. This episode we shared our top favorite zombie medias. But usually over on Patreon we read creepy readit stories to each other. Sometimes we share a order case, a shorter true crime case, or urban legends. Most of the time we just read creepy stories to each other and react to them. But this time we did our favorite zombie medias. We're also going to be doing vampire media, religious horror, supernatural, horror. This is just where we share our favorite books, movies, shows related to that topic and it was a lot of fun. So yeah, thanks for your support as always, and yeah, here is this Patreon episode just for this week because we didn't have anything to share. And yeah, we'll be back next week with a regular episode. Stay as spooky. Hi. This is Christina and Carmen and this is a Patreon episode. Finally, you might hear my children in the background or the TV. Sorry, okay, And I don't know if anyone remembers, but a couple was it a couple episodes ago? Probably? I think so. But we said we were going to go through We're gonna go through our favorite horror so genre media, so like zombie vampire, what was a zombie vampire? Religious horror not just possession, but religious horror was the other one? Is there another? I guess supernatural kind of it's a separate yeah, like like the normal Yeah yeah, yeah, And it's like everything movies, shows, books, and we're just gonna go through our top like media of each of those categories. And today is zombies because I've been obsessed of course as zombies. Yes, yes, did you make a list or anything? Or no, No, I did not. I'm just going off the top of your noggin there. Yeah, okay, well that's what I'll saying. I don't know you. I don't know how you're gonna start off with this, but mm hmm, I feel like we're gonna have the same answer. But what was the thing that got you like hooked on zombies? Like, what wasn't Oh, Donna the Dead? Okay, then yeah, it's the same of course, because we watched it multiple times for I mean, we watched it together multiple times. Yeah we first did we go watch it in the theater? We did? No, I don't remember. I think we did. When did it come out with Donna the Dead? We're talking about the remakes? We were in high school? Yeah, the remake don the two thousand and four. Wait, so the like middle school still we're I was gonna say, we're still in middle school. I don't think we want to see it in the theater. Didn't know. We watched it probably on TV. But yeah, that was the movie that kicked off for obsession. I've never seen the og I feel like I seen it once, but I don't remember if that was Down of the Dead or the other one that has a similar Night of the Living Dead, right, I think that's the one I've seen. Okay, I think we watched that one together too. Okay, So what did you want to talk more about Donna the Dead or like, did you want to go to your favorite? Okay, yeah, just a little bit about That of the Dead and why it was like I don't think a movie. I don't even think it was in the original. I could be wrong, though, because I've only like listened to things about the original. I haven't seen it. But I don't think we have seen like a Little Girl Go a Little Girl zombie before this. I mean I don't think we had to watch watched much zombie things before this, at least I don't remember. No, I don't think we had. But even just in general, before this movie came out, I feel like it was one of the first movies to show this much like uh like at least zombie wise, like Gore and just like like a pregnant Yeah that was like wild, insane, yeah, super creepy. Yeah all right, next, but that's still that's not my that's like the movie that's my favorite. Oh it's not my favorite? Which is your favorite? Trained to Busan. I haven't seen ith o. My god, you must, you must watch it. It's so good. My favorite one's unseerious. It's Sean of the Dead. I love Shanna the Dead, but no, it's the one where the guy makes the rules or whatever for oh my gosh, zombie Land. Yeah. Yeah, that one's my favorite. It's a fun one. Yeah, it is a fun one. Yeah. Yeah, that one in Shanta the Dead are my favorite horror comedy ones, although I love a horror comedy. Actually, you know what A new favorite is the one I watched at your house that had us dying laughing. I can't believe I missed it back after Beth. Yeah, yeah, I gotta say I think that's my favorite. Yeah, Life after Beth. That was that was fun. Yeah, we hadn't seen it before because it's not even winter to come out. It's like from I want to say. Yeah, it had very twenty ten humor, and that's why I feel like it did then fourteen Oh okay, yeah, yeah, like I completely missed it that year and all the twenty ten Yeah that one. It was Aubrey Plaza as a zombie. Yeah, I mean I love her, honestly, and everything that she's in so yeah, I'll watch any tea she's in you. But this was hilarious and also our favorite from Criminal Minds. Oh read, it was hilarious and he's honestly so funny, like yeah, he has good like comedic timing whatever they call it. Yeah, yeah, that's a good one. I just can't believe we hadn't seen it before, and since we're on horror comedy right now. Another one that I also really liked that I wasn't there to watch it sometimes last year. But Little Monsters, Oh, that one is good. I just didn't like all the Taylor Swift song singing, you know, oh like a lot. It's just one song that the hater one, what does it shake my shake it off? Shake it off? Yeah yeah, that's a lot of being like at the end, and then the one They're scared. Yeah that's right. Yeah, I really didn't like that movie though. Yes, Little Monster is also very fun. And then that one. Honestly I didn't care for the guy actor, but neither I honestly feel like he was not up to part to Lupita Jongo's acting. Chops exactly, she was amazing. He was whatever. Yeah, very many it was Barbie, he was Ken Yeah, yeah, but Alexander England is his name. I don't even know whover seen him anything. This a guy hold on the guy because the movie for you know those that I guess we haven't really been describing movie plots what gone through? God, we haven't. No. I just figure I thought everyone knew them. I know everyone knows Zombiellance, I know that and and that. Yeah, but little monsters they get It's like the zombie outbreak starts and she's she's a school teacher, Lupita Young, and she's on a field trip with her kindergarteners. Is that what they are? I believe their kindergarten? Yes, Okay, when it all happens, and the deadbeat uncle of a kindergartener volunteers as a chaperone because he sees her when he's picking up the nephew, and he's like, all right, I want to be with her, but he doesn't deserve her. No, no, And of course he gets her. Yeah. I don't honestly wish they wouldn't have if they just would have let her, I don't know, yeah, not be with him. But so they goes down this field trip and in the Field Trip, there's like a kid character like think Blippy, but that's not what he is. Oh that was so funny. I feel like he was on the funniest part of the movie. He is, And I don't know his Name's why I love him. He's the guy that's Bear and New Girl. Yes, he's bar a you girl. His name is Josh Gadd But he's also Olaf and Frozen. Oh I don't know he was Olof. Yeah I didn't know that either, but yeah again New Girl. And like any funny show, he'll randomly pop up as like some random funny character. Yeah, funny, but he's like a Blippy and this universe. But he's also like the worst. Yeah, he's like mean and like he hates his job. Yes, and kids, I think. Yeah. Also, that's like the worst place you want to be during the start of a zombie apocalypse. Yeah, with a bunch of kids. Yeah. Historically, they just don't do well. I wouldn't do well either. I mean, they don't have surrovel instincts the way that adults do. They don't have common sense thinking or like rational thinking decision making skills, and that's why they need protection from adults. But sometimes you got to look out for number one, but you can't because you have to protect the whole class of kids. Yeah. Really, truly, it shows what a good teacher she is because her classroom medic. I still love her. I love what save them through. She's like, they all listen to her. They all, yeah, she has a little game to calm them down. They immediately do it because if that was like if I was the teacher and my dad, we would die so fast. Yeah. And then it's like, uh, you get to see them all live, So that's also like a happy that too. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, some people don't like that none of the kids died. Other people die, but not other none of the kids. Yeah. And it's so funny just watching them go through, Like she's like trying to calm them down when they're because at some point they're on this little cart and they're trying to get to like where the army's at to go be safe. Yeah, and so she's like look over here, look over here, because you can see like the zombies running back and fard on those sites. It's so funny, you know what. Help. I liked that the military was able to contain the outbreak and I obviously spoilers. It's too late to sayna, all of us, all of us don't have spoilers on every single thing we talk about there. The outpak was contained by the military, which never happens in zombie movies. So like it happened. It was like your typical zombie movie, right, and that they're trying to survive. But the rest of the world also like the band. Yeah, I love a happy ending. I do. I want to say, No, I can't remember if Trained Toubusan has like a ending where the military does end up containing everything or if they get overrun. Oh but back to that movie, since we moved from it very oh yeah, we didn't even why am I who like it so much? They like, none of them were ready against spoilers, and none of them were ready for the zombie because you know, in sir on the zombieland they're very aware and it's the whole Oh, I see the point of it. It already happened in yeah Land when the movie we got in the beginning of it. Yeah, I think we see like little flashbacks that he had, Yeah yeah, when it happens the his hot neighbor who is Yeah, is it Blake Lively. I can't remember. I want to say the neighbor is Blake Live. It's someone that I was surprised at. It's either Blake Lively or Amberhard I one of America's most hated women of the week. You know how that goes. It's everheard. Okay, it's Everhard. I just looked it up. Oh, I forgot about that. Bill Murray also hilariously. Yeah. Yeah, Also I like that one better than the second one. Oh. I don't even remember the second one, honestly. Yeah, Kyle just said the second one sucks. And so what are the few day nights we got we went to go watch it? Wow, you wasted date night? We wasted? Yeah, date night on Wow? Wow. Yeah it was not the first one's way better, way better. I don't recommend the second one at all. But what was the trained Tubustan? Yeah, so they're not like aware it's the beginning of it, and so they're on a train and they're in Korea, so there's no they're not like, you know, it's not the United States where every other person has like ten twenty guns, so nobody nobody has like weapons, and you know, every like zombie movie, everyone everyone's like armed, but here they have nothing. They barely even I don't even think they have knives. There they have nothing, and they're on the train. They have to try and like give themselves. Yeah, it's insane. And there's parts that are so creepy because they go through it's like the zombies can't see in the dark or something, so they stop moving and so they plan like they're moving through the train as it's going through a tunnel. It's completely dark. It's just it's it's so suspenseful, these parts where they're trying to get through the little bit of darkness that they have. Again, nobody has weapons. They're trying to like actually use whatever they have to uh what's it called, like protect themselves, so like putting like cardboarder around their arms or something like that, which another movies people some people just don't do. It took them way too long and then walking there to figure that out to protect there, Yeah, extremities or whatever. Yeah, and then the end is so sad. I could not stop crying at the ending of it. Yeah, I'm not gonna spoil it, damn it to anyone else. Yes, yes, okay, yeah, skip like ten seconds if you don't want to hear the the spoilers. So it's we're following, like it's a dad and he's a super shitty dad, Like he's just all about his job. He at some point like he's just not there for the daughter. He's also divorced, and the daughter is gonna is with him. I think he's picking her up to be with him for like I don't know, the weekend or the summer or something, because he doesn't have like the primary custody and so they're traveling together. He's never been there for her. He's been all about his job. Also, his job has something to do with the outbreak. The cause for the outbreak has to do with his job. After some while in the movie, it's basically his journey from becoming a super shitty person to like a good person, and it took like the outbreak for him to do that. But by the end, his whole point is trying to protect his daughter. Obviously dies at the end, doesn't he does? This reminds me what which one is it? The show that we watched also on Zombies where they're looking for her dad the whole time and then they find her parents or something. The other the Koreans B show all of us are dead. I guess yeah, we have a similar yeah scene like that, Yeah, yeah, and yeah he dies and it's just it's so sad. But yeah, that's it's just it's an amazing movie. And okay, so that was trained Tubisan. We already talked about Donna the Dead Shot of the Dead. We a little bit. It's just so funny that then, Yeah, it's so good. I feel like it came out almost. I don't remember when I came remember. I mean, it's old now too, but I think honestly it holds up pretty well too. Donna the Dead has this moments where it's like, oh, really, someone says the N word in it, like a white person. Yeah, obviously because it's one of the guys that ends up in the mall. Is like I remember that. Yeah, I feel like he has a handlebar mustache. But that could be wrong. I could see it. Yeah, trying it right now, I'm pretty sure. I just want to Done of the Dead. Let me look at the cast really quick. Cast, let's see. No, there's too many people. I don't remember who was who? Yeah, but I feel like that happens. But Shot of the Dead, I mean they're in England and the two main guys are complete, like, I don't know, irresponsible, yeah, trash and yeah it takes the zombie apocalypse for them to also grow into responsible people, especially the main guy, not the chubbier Yeah. Yeah, sometimes the best thing for self growth is a zombie apocalypse. Apparently that might be what it takes for some. But yeah, no, that movie is. It's just so funny and I feel like at some point they also are singing together. I don't know if the zombies join in, maybe not, but I feel like that happens. I don't remember, but like that sounds familiar. Yeah, yeah, it's just it's super funny, I think. Yeah, out of a zombie horror comedies, it's probably the funniest. I like it better than Zombie Land. Shut of the Dead, you like better, Yeah, I do. I feel like I have to rewatch Shana the Daddy. I recently rewatch Zombie Land. That's why it's fresh in my head. I have to rewatch Shan of the Dead to see. Yeah, it has been a while since I rewatched it. I used to rewatch it a lot. The roommates I lived with after Germany and Fort Lewis, she would rewatch Shot of the Dead, and then another Simon Peg movie. I don't remember. Hmm, there's the one where he's a cop. Another comedy, but it's not a horror comedy Simon Peg movies. Let's see, Oh there's there's too much hot fuzz. Oh yeah, I've seen that that. She would rewatch that a lot, but still I like Shot out of the Dead better. Okay, And then let's see another one that I haven't. I saw it one time and I never rewatched it after that. But I just the whole fast zombie thing is like the freakingever. I can't handle that. That's actual days later. I think I've seen that one like twice, and man, no, it's just spious to be. I don't think it's out yet, but I think there's supposed to be a remake twenty eight years later, and I'm twenty eight month Is it a remake or like a sequel type thing? Sequel? Yeah, I've heard of that, that it's coming. Oh it is years a time. I was kidding when I said them, twenty eight years later. Maybe I'll I spent ye like I watched twenty eight days later when it was like almost new and I don't even remember much about it except the beginning of it. It's almost And you know, it's funny because I think it came out almost at the same time as Walking Dead and oh no, the Walking Dead came out a little bit after, and people were saying that the Walking Dead copied twenty eight days later because he gets out of a hospital. Oh that live so the streets. But the show came out after the movie the comic, because the Walking Dead is oh, okay, okay, Well the comic didn't start much after, so they're saying that the comic copied. Yeah, but he had been he started writing it like like way before the movie came out. That there's just no way. But I mean it's I feel like it's a thing to make sense, Like it makes sense to write it like that, Like I don't think, like, yeah, it's like if somebody does like a common thing and then you try to say, oh, they copyed me, but it's like anybody could think of that, Like it's yeah, because like if you want to make a zombie outbreak type thing and you don't want to show it, you're gonna just show someone coming out of the hospital computes yeah, and that's what both movies did or both shows whatever, But they both like start out the same way, and he's like walking through the streets and they're so empty and he's in like, you know, his hospital gown. But I kind of I want to watch it again before the twenty eight years later thing comes out, And yeah, it's supposed to have I can never said. I feel like I always say his name wrong. Killian. I think it's Killing Okay Murphy. Yeah, it's supposed to be in it again twhen he I forgot who else. I saw a picture of it. I heard who, and I can't remember anymore, Like, oh, that guy that's with who, the guy from kick Ass, the guy from kick Ass, a guy from kick Ass, Aaron Taylor Johnson. Oh, I didn't realize when it was him, the guy with that old lady. Yeah, who grooms him? Poor guy, poor guy. Yeah, I have like kids and everything together. Yeah, he likes he like defends her, fends it and yeah, she's a friend that he sees the light one day one day. Who knows. But yeah, I saw a picture of Killing Murphy and Aaron Taylor Johnson still from the movie. Oh yeah, yeah, that's what it was that I saw, but yeah, him, the guy that's Boltimore Ralph Yeah, yeah, Fiens. I don't know if I'm saying that wrong. Yeah, but it looks like it's good. So, because you know, sequels are sometimes and this is like so many years later. Yeah, and sometimes they can be disappointing, like Zombielan that came out Zombielan and Zambulan two were like very part two. They weren't they I don't remember. I thought, maybe not that far apart. But we'll see. I feel like this for just and you can't judge it from just pictures, but it looks like it's gonna be good. Yeah, we'll see, okay. And then another one that's on my list that I actually haven't watched, but I heard it's good. It's called Virus thirty two and it's since it's set in Chile, I think why sorry. One of the three, it's on Shutter Plus if you have a MC plus because you get shuttered with it. But that looks good. I don't know what it's about. I know that Weko Road has an episode on it or really yeah, so I want to watch it and then listen to their episode. But that's just in case anyone is looking for zombies and Fanish, that would be probably the one to watch. I watched one that's set in Mexico. It's like Las Armas something, but I was not it was it was not good to me. It was was it too slow? Way too slow? Why do the newer Mexican horn movies? Why are they so fucking slow? Like yeah, this one though, it was like, I'm a dumb bitch. You have to have cat my attention, like I'm not gonna you know, like because there's some that are like slow, but still not as terrible as this one. Like to me, was not that bad. She went me, fuck up. Oh it really was like a line you're freaking line. I'm not, she's freaking line stopping. She is. This movie was way slower. Oh my god, I'm not paying that one. I was dying. I was like, oh my god. Yeah, well we can talk about what that another time. Yeah it's not time be related, but yeah, so and I don't even remember the movie the name of the movie, so I but I don't because it's not Netflix. If someone comes across it, like, it's not which one the Mexican zombie one? Like The premise sounded really cool. It was said during I want to say the Mexican Revolution, Oh you talked about this, yes, yeah, this group of men stumbles upon ancienda and uh, in this ascienda, there's only these sisters left and they're trying to raid it because you know, they're just they left their group they were with, like the army, and they are just going around raiding estenda's basically. And so this the reason this estenda is still standing is because they have zombies. They have they're like Broucaster or something they did to bring back zombies and that's what's protecting them. And so slowly they're picking off each man that like invaded their home with a zombie and they are then turned into zombies. But it's like one of the sisters are both I don't know, can control them, so they're not in danger. And the premise was it sounded cool, but yeah, it's just it was way too slow together and even like once things started, it's like, oh all right, it's not that it was not that fun. Damn. Yeah. But I mean if anyone like is the desp person to watched that, I remember it was like Last Man as something, but another one that was in Spanish, also set in the war, but in Spain. That was good. I thought it's called Valley of the Dead. It's set during I want to say it was like during World War Two that it's set, because you know, during World War two, Spain was going through also its own like war where people the fastest particular over and then there's like the people that are trying to stand up to all that, and so then the zombie outbreak happens and now they have to work together. Basically that's too much to handle, it is because now it's it was like a war and now it's like now you have a new enemy and it's like damn, and it's it's like starting this, I think it was like this young soldier is like he's bad, he's not a good soldier, and they're trying to get rid of him by giving him like a shitt assignment. But his like someone related to him is in the unit as well, and so he gets stuck with him to go to another base to give them something and they start, you know, they set out on their own and they come across uh like leftists and while they're like trying to take them hostages the outbreak happens something like that. This one was for now they have to work to gather the enemies. Yes, yeah, and also the Nazis are somehow related. They like created the zombie Oh yeah, yeah, so that was fun. Valley of the Dead. And then let's see one more I wanted to talk about because it's also fun. It's kind of like Warm Bodies but better. Do you remember Warm Bodies? Oh? I like that one too. Yeah. Warm Bodies is kind because I love him? Yeah, me too, from Skins. Yes, yeah, that's when my love for him started. Same Warm Body Nicholas Holt. Yes, yeah, I know his name because I love him. Yeah, that's rare. You don't know anyone I know, don't. That's how much I love him. Yeah, yeah, that's that's a fun one too. But me for sale is oh god, when I'm pretty sure it's Korean. Hold on the problem with me watching movies and I just I if I force myself, I will read the subtitles. But it's not for it. I can't have food because then the yes, look I watch I only like to watch movies with snacks. A little shark herd, you born in front of me? Popcorn? Yeah, yeah. Yeah, I have to be in the right like brain space to watch movies that need subtitles, and this one does. But yeah, it is a Korean movie. I guess. The full official name is The Odd Family Zombie on Sale, although Zombie first while is also like both our names free or something. But it came out in twenty nineteen. It's a horror comedy. But this pharmaceutical company has like experiments on drugs and it goes wrong and he creates a zombie and he escapes and wow. Then this family runs across this first zombie and the girl in the family wants to like keep him as like I don't know if it's a pair or boyfriend right away, but like like she's like trying to hide him and protect him. And then like slowly, more and more zombies you know, began like start being created. Wow. But like there's like the actual outbreak. But it's it's it's cute and it's funny. Yeah, it's it's like the premise of it. Yeah, it just has it has a lot of funny moments too, So I definitely recommend that one. I'm trying to remember where I watched it. At some point it was on Netflix. I don't think it's on Netflix anymore. I watched it on Shutter probably back when I had Shutter. I had Shutter, then I canceled it, and then I got it with AMC because I wanted to watch all the walking disk spin. But no, that's a fun one. I definitely recommend it. Okay, And that's it for movies. Do you have any other movies? I don't think so, Okay. Do you want to do books or shows? Let's do books. I feel like that's gonna be shorter because I feel like the only zombie book I remember that I read is World War Z. Oh, and I loved World War Z. I loved it way better than well, that's on my list too. Yeah, it is way better than the movie because I loved the morning interview style. Yes, and if anyone hasn't read it, it's it's just it's so good. It's so fun. But it's basically goes through different people, like I think it's like thirteen or fourteen different like point of views and yeah, were there from different countries? Yeah? Yeah, And it's just it's so fun because I don't think anything else does it like like that? Yeah, and a lot of places you don't even get to see or a lot of like movies, you don't even get to see the beginning of that break, or like, yeah, how different countries handle it as it was, uh spreading, I can't remember the word for spreading. Yeah. Yeah, so yeah, that was that was a lot of fun. And I hear I've heard the audiobook is super good. I really see it. Yeah, it has like a full cast, like different people doing each voice, including hold on. I'm gonna check my library has it, but I don't think they do. Maybe Spotify they don't have anything due they don't, they don't, But I have like two hundred TVR Taggon Booby. Uh so the author does someone Max Brooks, Simon Pegg from Really sh the Dead, Mark hamil hammil M from Star Wars. I mean, I'd be surprised, but no one knows who that is. But uh, Nathan Fillion from I mean, oh my god, he's been so many things Firefly. Uh you know that new cop show that I was watching for a while. No, the rookie, he is the rookie. You never seen the rookie. But Castle he's doing a bunch of things. But he's in the audiobook. A lot of a lot of names, Martin Scorsese. Wow, so I've been wanting to I think I still have the physical book. You probably do. I think I see your copy or is it? It probably is? And Kyle bought me one that came with the Zombie Survival Guide. Oh, yeah it was. It was a I don't remember. It was like Birthday. There was a lot of those type of books, like how does about zombie Zion? But no, one doesn't like Max Brooks. No, no, no, not at all. Do you have any other books zombie books you like? Yeah? Do you remember? Well, I don't know if you read it now, The Girl with all the Gifts? No, you have even read it? No? Oh, my Girl with all the Gifts. Yes, it's also a movie. I have not seen the movie, but I've heard a whole it's pretty good compared to the book too. But The Girl with all the Gifts not film book. There we go. I just want to find, like the synopsis to read it to you. You would like it. It's really good. So The Girl with all the Gifts it came out in twenty thirteen, I want to say, oh, twenty fourteen. It's written by M. R. Carrey here's this is the plot. This is just from Wikipedia. Twenty years ago, humanity was infected by a variants of the fungus native to South America called oh Yo corse deeps. You know. Okay, enough of that. Okay, sorry, I can't, I can't say it. I feel like this is the same fungus that's used in the Last of Us. Let me see if it's on the thrift book. But it's a zombie and fungus. I don't for a fungus on the Last of Us. Oh my god, did you? Oh wait, anyone wants it? I'm going to that all of us are dead? Okay, no, weather, Yes, it's the whole thing that started it in the Last of Us anyway, So it led to the breakdown, the end of civilization as it was before. The infected refers to as hungries, referred to as hungary is quickly lose their mental powers and feed on the flesh of healthy humans. The disease spreads through blood and saliva, but can also spread airborne through spores created by the fungus, so that anything with fungus, I'm like, ah, no, fuck that. It's so much worse than like, say, the Walking Dead where it's done and The Dead and then so in English, wait, what is in the Walking Dead? So it's never been explained? Are you serious with all the fucking series? Oh my god, gotta be shitting me. I'm not okay. So there's a sequel, The Boy on the Brinch. Yeah, and I actually have not read that, and I've been meaning too. I don't know if it's like if it holds ups, but the girl with all the gifts is amazing. But it's different because it's also set. It's not set right as the outbreak happened. It's way later, and it's like a school and they have a group of kids who are child hungryes so zombies and they're basically like prisoners in this uh school, but they're being studied and slowly, like you know, one goes missing because you have to kill it, just like study it. And there's a ten year old who's a zombie and she is a genius level IQ. She is so aware. There's the teacher, so that girl is Melanie. And then the teacher her name is Helen justin just to know, just to know, I don't know how to say her name. She's the only one who sees them as children. Everyone else the military runs the school, and you know, to them, they're they're just zombies. Melanie, the super smart zombie girl, sees the teacher as like her mom, like a surian mom. I mean, these kids don't have parents, they're zombies. She doesn't understand that the teacher is the only one who've used that differently than the doctor at the school to try and find a cure for the funk is. He wants to dissect the girl, Melanie. The teacher tries to save her, and because of that, the base is attacked. Oh wow, by Hungary's and by people. Teachers hurt, and Melanie to try and save the teacher eats flesh for the first time. Because these kids are not they're fed something else. And so yeah, it's basically then after that, just like their journey to try and get somewhere else. I don't remember where they're trying to go. And I want to say that the ending, I'm ordering it right now. Oh no, you should, it's so good. And the sequel. I need to get the And then as I was looking through it and said, you might like and Station eleven, and I've heard really good things about by Station eleve and it's an post up apocalyptic book, but it's not zombies. It's like dystopian. Oh my god. See, well it's the same thing as post yeah. Yeah, but yeah that one has to say. Sometimes it's dystopian, but there wasn't an apocalypse, you know what I mean? That's true, that's true, or like a specific event that like we're gonna have to do dystopian also as a time that's actually, let's do a separate dystopian because I also I've actually read more dystopian books than zombies specific books. But this is a this is a really good one. I do highly recommend The Girl with All the Gifts and so aside from that and then World Wars E. The only other zombie book that I remember, I know, I've read a couple more, but the only one other one I remember is Survival Song by Paul Tremplay. Oh. I like his books. It's good and very sad. What is it called Survival Song? It follows, I want to say, at the beginning of the outbreak, a doctor and her pregnant friend, and it's basically their journey trying to get her to a hospital that hasn't been overrun they run into misfit youth is too teen called yeah survival song by Paul Tremblay not coming up at all. That's not possible. Maybe I'm getting the name wrong. I know that's what I'm saying. It is survival. Oh sorry, what did I say? Survival or survivor. I knew it. I knew it. I knew it Survivor Survivor song. Yeah. Some people find one of the friends annoying. I thought it was fine. I never had a problem with either one of them. But yeah, they were like, oh, she's so insufferable blah blah blah. But uh, it's really good if you don't because some people like want their characters to be perfect. Oh I don't care about that. It's so realistic. It is. It really is. So it follows Nat and Rams two friends, one of them is pregnant, I don't remember which one, and they're trying to get to the hospital. They run into these two teens who are basically on their bikes, and so these teens to get them to the hospital faster because they're they don't know what's still standing. It's literally the beginning of it. And so then they're trying to get the pregnant women on the bike, you know, like pegs, bikes that have pegs on. They're trying to get out to the hospital on these pegs. And so we start out with like getting a chapter from each one of them, and then once the two teens are introduced, we also get to our point of view. It's really good. I highly recommend it. But it's also very sad. Oh a book, but the ending is happier. Okay, I like that. Yeah, so that was a fun one. But yeah, other than that, I haven't read. There's some that on my my list to read feed by myrak grant. Oh that's not my land list. Yeah, and then there's a couple more that I'm forgetting that are on my list to read. But yeah, those are the only books that I've read, and you've only read Worldwardsy, I'm pretty sure, Like I don't remember any other zombie show book. I was gonna say movie, and then I said show, and I meant to say book all along, all along. Yeah, okay, well let's go on to shows. Now. I need to add as to one more book to get an even better deal. Oh my god, that's how they get you, I know. Wait, how do you have on there too. I have Station eleven, The Girl with all the Gifts, The Boy on the Bridge. Have you read the Road? Oh? Wait, I don't even remember having this one. I don't want this one right now. Remove Also, I am I finished this one. I have stuff in my car from before when I was book shopping. I don't Okay, I have The Survivor's Song, The Boy on the Bridge, The Girl with all the Gifts, and Station eleven. Okay, if you ware another post apocalyptic depressing ass book, not dystopian. Whatever the Road by Cormac mc cormac. The fuck is the name? Let me see how watch it is? All these are like under five dollars so Cormac McCarthy CORMACOO three ninety nine. Depressing but very Oh it's so depressing. It's what about the classic depressing books? Damn? It follows a father and his son. Oh there's a movie, says I haven't seen this now a major motion picture. Yeah, I don't think i've seen the movie. What are the readings? Oh it has good readings. Interesting, but yeah, that's a good one. I have nine safe for later items to keep it on theme. I was like, well, that's a good one to add. Wow, I'm so excited to read these. Yeah. Okay, so that was Survivor's song and not Survival my bad, not Survival Survivor. So I just said it the other way around again. Okay, So shows, shows, shows, zombie shows. Yeah, for sure, all of us are dead. That's I feel. I feel like that's my number one. Yeah, same, that is my number one. I love that show. It just from the beginning, it just it goes and it just keeps going ever stops. And I never saw like age death is so tragic. I was like, you get to love almost everybody except the evil people, you know. Yeah. I was gonna say, how many episodes is it? I think it's it's like short, like ten maybe, if not less, unless on way off twelve. Okay, so that's plenty of time to get to know them and because I'm like, some shows take too long to introduce everyone, make you care about them. Yeah, and sometimes they don't do it well enough or you just don't care if they if anything happens to them. Yeah, but no, this show, Yeah, you get to know each one. Each one is sad and you don't even you don't even know who. It's like everyone is fair game. Some people you think are going to survive, they don't. And yeah, it's just it's so sad. I could even like, like the dad of the girl that they're trying to find because he's a paramedic and he said he was gonna that be right, Oh so hard breaking all of it. And I love the girl is it her? The one of paramedic dad that she's like helps everybody like get to survival mode. She's like, Okay, my dad taught me this. Yeah, we had to establish like a bathroom corner and we have to do this that Like, yeah, she knows what to do in that instance. Yeah. Also like and then you see it throughout the show, like her grades are not the best and she's she wants to do better and that's like you don't need to know any of that. What you need to know is this. I love that and he like prepared her and it was just, Yeah, it's amazing because it's so funny because in these twelve episodes, you get to know the characters really well and their families. Yeah, which is them. It's like and you know what else I liked about the ending was that they make it like somewhere safe yeah, because that's another you know, I feel like Korean shows and movies zombie specifically, like there is somewhere safe at the end. I think that. I feel like they just know how to wrap things up more efficiently. Yeah, whereas something like The Walking Dead that went on and on and on and it sounds like there's no answers. Why don't we start talking about that, because I'm like, what the fuck? Yeah, it's okay. So The Walking Dead the and I think it's from its creation. There was never meant to be announcer the Sometimes I like that, but sometimes I hate it. Yeah. The creator of the comics has said on records he never intended anyone to see the beginning of the outbreak or what caused it, and people were demanding Yeah, But now as shows and spinoffs have gone on, there's very tiny amount of answers. Like in The Walking Dead, it's not the bite that makes you infected. It kills you because it's like so full of like you know, yeah, like infection. Yeah that it gives you like a fever and it makes you so sick you die. But everyone's already infected in The Walking Dead. Well, they alluded to that in the first season. In the first season, yeah, and then Rick keeps it from everyone. That's right, that's right, Yeah, because he's they're in a rictatorship. M hm. He literally says it, it's not a democracy. Does he say that in the first season or when Yeah, when the farm gets overrun? So season two, the end of season two or is it? Yeah, it's the end of season two, I think when the farm gets overrun and they're all trying to leave and they're looking to him for answers anyway, and he's like, if you want to survive and you and it's my leader you're trying to follow, this is not a democracy. This is not a I mean, that's what happens with Survival Mode sometimes. Yeah. Yeah, but that's that's the whole Like that was their explanation for the longest time. And now with the spinoffs, uh, specifically Darryl Dixon and then this other spinoff that actually wasn't that popular, but the world beyond mm hm. Those two kind of blame the French apparently. Rely it's elluded that the French were trying to create a super weapon and it went wrong and then they started messing with like zombies themselves and created worst zombies like uh, in the Darryl Dixon spinoffs, there's zombies that are called burners that like if they like touch you, you they start burning you. And it's like the French that did it, like the scientists, wow, and the whole spoilers, the whole like thing and there. And the reason he ends up in France is because the French are they have a boat and they go from back and forth getting American zombies to France to test on. And also they're not they're a break in France. Oh there is. They started it. Oh, but I guess they've they've been able to contain some parts where there's like a bigger military force. What is the need? Does this get American? Maybe they need fresh like not some times they haven't messed with I see. I think it is what it is. And so he's doing this job because he ran out of gas on his motorcycle and he's doing this this job to give them zombies. But while he's doing this, there's this like younger probably like early adulthood, like a twenty year old maybe who's like trying to get Daryl who work with him so he can get his oil to go back home and Daryl's like, no, I'm doing this by myself. So then the kid joins this other group of men, and then Daryl sees those group of men come back with their zombies and that kid is in the group of zombies that they have. Oh wow, so they killed him to have more zombies and he gets super mad about it. He starts fighting one of the guys and one of the rules of this place was like no fighting. So they grabbed Darryl and the other guy that we're fighting and throw them on a ship with the zombies and that's the French ship. And so he's in this like little jail cell in the ship and he ends up breaking out the ship explodes. Wow, this is things happened to get to that. Yeah, he follows off the ship onto like a smaller boat, and that's how he ends up in France. And in the series, that's where we learned that the French are doing experiments. But I forget which season or what even happened in because there's you know, so many different Walking dis shows now, but it's also at some point alluded to, like, oh no, it is in the main Walking Dead when they end up at the CDC oh. The guy at the CDC told the group that he believed the French were the last ones to hold out and that they were if anyone was going to come up with the cure would be them. I probably because they caused it. Yeah wow, yeah, but sorry, I just remember and I didn't talk about I am legend in the that's vampires. I thought there were zombies. No, the vampires. Are you serious? I'm pretty sure this whole time there were zombe. I was saving it for the vampire. Look it up. I am so sure there's zombies. No, oh wait, they can't go out in the daytime. But they're like they can't like think except for one of them. Most asked thing on Google, and I am legend vampires or zombies? Okay, what is the what is the answer? The vampires? What the fuck? Okay, wow, never mind, Okay, we'll save it for They're very they're different type of vampires. That vampire reminded me of this other vampire show I watched but I never finished. And I guess I'll save that for the vampires. But yeah, wow, I do this whole time. I thought that. You know, it's because like in most cases, vampires smart they they are smart, and I am legend I thought one of them was smart, like the leader who wants to get revenge on Will Smith. Yeah, I think because most of the time vampires have their own own turn into the apocalypse. They're not post apocalyptic. Yeah. The show people, the show that I'm talking about, it did. Yeah, Okay, I'm excited to hear what this is kind of spun a little like as one we had a good prime. Okay, whatever, we'll say, we'll save it. Okay, we'll say, do we do vampires next? We will do vampires next. Actually that was my plan. Yeah, okay, okay, so no, those are vampires so wow shocked but erry zombie like, yeah they are. I will say, yeah, yeah. The oh more on The Walking Dead because it went on forever, but it does get worse as it goes on, although by the end it's like, all right, that wasn't too bad, but the first four seasons way better. But I think there are reason because that's still my number two. All of us are Dead is still number one for me. It's just still good. But the Walking Dead for me is number two. It's just like I think I already said it when we were I was doing my speaking recommendation. But like the first two seasons just captured like this, the like him walking on the highway by himself and there's like nothing, and then you hear like the growls him inside the tank and then he's like he's I mean I had almost all of America hooked for the first few seasons. It did. It really did. I had like the most viewership of yeah for sure in the Zombie show, but even just shows, and like it was doing numbers for a long time until it really went downhill. Yeah, especially after Gladden. Yeah. But another thing, I think it's like one of the first shows that and they like worked hard to improve because in the beginning, you're like it really falls into those stereotypes, like the only black guy in the show, his name is tea Dog, Like really you can remember that, and then he dies when a new black character is and then when another black character, his name is Noah, but everybody loves Chris. You know abbat Elementary, that's Noah. Really, what's his name? Yeah, I forgot I forgot his name, but he's everybody loves the main character, right, Yeah, that's him. That's Noah. He's he's not there for long, but when he's in tire to remember him, actually Tyrese dies and it's like only one black character is allowed obviously aside from me shown. Yeah, like only one black man is eat at some point there's two. But like by the end of the show, this gets way better. It's normal, you know, like the cast is way more diverse, and it's not weird about it, like naming the only black guy tea dog, and then he has so little lines then he disappears, so so they get better in that aspect because then you know, later on we have way more people I don't know. I don't think you know who they are because they're already like a season eleven. But like, uh, there's just a bunch of like diverse characters that actually have like arcs and they have more lines and they're full blown characters, because that doesn't happen a lot. But like obviously you know Rosita, but like Father Gabriel, I think you might remember him, the priest, Yeah, yeah, but there's this guy named Jerry who's super funny, and his wife I don't remember her name, and then like the guy that runs the kingdom, his name is Ezekiel. He has a terrible, but like also majestic looking wig, but you can tell it's a wig obviously. Me shown is like, you know, for her time, one of the strongest like black leads ever and just you know, it gets it gets a lot more diverse as the show goes on, but in the beginning to kind of just struggle there because like, but also I think it's like the point you know people are racist because also there's like an N word, the N word, and yeah, like the first episode, Uh, Darryl and his brother right, yeah Merle Meryl, I can't remember his name, Merle. Yeah, but they even they improve as time goes on. But it's like, you know, you can't lie about what people really are, like yeah, at the same time, so yeah, it's very like, you know, focused on the human aspect of it. I think other shows are more focused on like the zombies. So a lot of people didn't like that it gets more soap opera ish, you know what, because I feel like people are still going to be people wherever they are, you know what I mean. So it doesn't make sense to just focus on the zombies because how much running from zombies can there be? Yeah, like people are still gonna live their lives. No matter what is going on in the world, people are still living their lives, you know. Yeah, it's like so people are like, oh, how come like Glead and Maggie got together so fast, and it's like because they're desperate. There's desperate for human connection and this dystopiing apocalyptic world. Yeah, four weeks in the zombie world, it's like two years in normal world, like please. So yeah, I mean that's you know, part of the reason I like it's so much. But then by the like season eight, it gets really like too drawn out and yeah, yeah that should have ended. It's still going. I will say, though, the Recognition spin off is really fun. Really I want to expressing that because you will like fun in the sense that it was fun for me, but you get to see them just you know. It's also infuriating on some parts. He gets what do you want to know about it? Or oh no, I guess you get to me a little bit about you. Okay, So spoilers. So in when Brick leaves, there's like a bridge I think I told you. Yeah, when he leaves the show, Yeah, so the bridge exposed and he isn't actually hurt, but he gets taken in a helicopter by some people. Those people are the CRM, the Civic Civic Republic Military or something like that, and they have like a whole big ass like city that is thriving. But the reason is thriving, it's because they the military is running everything. The people inside are what they call bees, so they are not the type of people to question anything. They just follow orders, do what they're told. But yeah, they're not going to question anything. If they run into what they call an alpha like Rick, they kill them and the experiment experiments on them. No, yeah, not good. But he ends up there because the prison that takes him lies and says he's a bee. But you can say right away, he's not, like what do you want? Want to be there? There's nothing wrong with being to b No, there's nothing wrong, like if you're trying to survive. Hell yeah, you want to be there. I'm not gonna I'm not gonna be like, oh I'm gonna do anyone to do like I'll do you. Yeah. Yeah, that's similar to the vampire show. It's talking about. Oh very interesting, Okay, I want to hear about it. I mean they have ice cream, you know, like imagine not eating ice cream for years and then you finally see it. But you know, the a's don't even get a chance to be there or get taken there, as don't get a chance to even see the city. They get killed right away. Wow, because that's how the they supposed to maintain their powers. They maintain order because in order for safety, you need some kind of order. Yeah. Yeah, so they're doing that, but they're also like any survivor that like goes near them, they bomb like their area. So they're like killing other people to maintain their secrecy. But also they're doing like in the beginning, they had other cities that were part of their alliance that were smaller, when in Portland and then one they called Omaha, so and I think it was in Nebraska. They killed everyone there, Wow, and they like nobody else knows this is happening. It's like top secret. But then like Rick and Michell and find out and they basically are like, we're going to take them down because they can't do this. But also Rick is trapped there. He tries to escape and then they can't escape. Oh he cut his own arm off trying to escape and he can't escape, so then he like is deepn't want him. No one can leave. Oh oh yeah, he wants to leave, he's not allowed to leave. And then the captain in charge of like him, believes in him and he's like, you need to be part of this organization and he doesn't want to be there. Then miche won't finds them, and then right away they can tell she's an a because she's just this badass. Oh yeah, okay, but if they take them down, won't they be putting a bunch of people at risk? Yeah, but they do it in like a smart way if you'd work, well, yeah, there's do it in a way where And it's also it's very rushed because it's only six episodes, so like really this could have used in at least another season to like see how everything turns around when they take down the CRM, you know, because then at the end it's like you hear a guy in the rado he's like explaining what happened. So at the end he's like, during this meeting, blah blah blah and they destrayed omaha. But now it's like it's not really good. No, wow, that's about they explain him what happened. So now at the end, it's under better hands that are gonna like let people leave, or they want to leave because some people, you know, wanted to find their families and bring them there and now they can't, but now they can. After Rick and Me shown and then Rick and michall go back to their house in Elexandria and they meet up with their kids and Rick didn't know who had a son. But it's also so dumb because at the end, the son is like, are you the brave man? Instead of saying something normal like are you my dad? Wow? And cheesy, He's like I knew you were alive and he's like, how did you know? He's like, because I believe thenn't. It's like, what you no, it's gonna say that. M So that part was kind of dumb, but getting to there was fun, I will say just seeing them too interesting how they find each other. So yeah, but for me, The Walking Dead is like number two. But then if I had to say, like she just went through five, probably very close to number one. But I think still all of us are dead? Is I feel like I've only like the only zombie shows I've actually seen our all of us are dead and The Walking Den I don't think I see. Okay, what about Santa Clarita diet Oh my god, I forgot about that. I forget my number one. That's my number one. That is so fun. Yes, I love that sh I wish I had more seasons. I forget that she's a zombie because you know, she like stays talking and stuff. Yeah, it's it's funny because it's like not like other zombie shows at all, and there's no outbreak. There's just like slowly they're like there's these serious illness happening. No one can explain it. And then suddenly people that like we're supposed to die don't because yeah, there's zombies. It's super fun. They probably just couldn't afford to keep it going because of the cast, Like that's yeah, I know they were like, yeah, Drew Barrymore and what's his name? Oh my god, I can remember his name. He's in the office. I like him, but I don't remember his name. Uh. I feel like there's an O and there's somewhere is it Joel? No, Joel's his name in the show. That's his name in the office. That's I see. I told you there's an O. Yeah, oh no, that is his show? His name in the show in Santa Clara, Yeah, yeah, and in the office I remember his name, No me neither. I just remember that weird ass thing where Jim and Pam I hate him that day with Pam. Yeah, I hate it. I hate sometimes You're so fucking cringey. Also, you know what, also, I fucking hate it. I almost want to skip it every time. What is the thing when they come back from their honeymoon and then there's like the nickname, Oh my god, so stupid. I'm like, are you is she a fucking toddler? Like, what the fuck is this? I hated it. I hate that, But then at the same time, I love that episode because of what Michael does. No, but the cast in Santa Clear Cleariad Die is yeah, way they couldn't keep going because okay, and then Barrymore alone. Yeah. But also Nathan Fillion his head is a zombie. Yeah. Who else isn't There's so many there's so many people in this what's his name? The guy used to do the soup? Isn't he the other realtor that they can't stand? Joel McHale, Yeah, yeah, Michale Michale. What's her name? It was always said everything and she's also a new girl. But Mary Elizabeth l Oh yes, yeah, yeah, yeah, like big names, big names. The guy Eric, the friend of the daughter. Yeah, he was one of my favorites. He's just, I don't know, hilarious and just so adorable. Yeah. But yeah, that show is so funny, and it just it ended too soon, I know, like it they should have wrapped things up. What was gonna happen. He was about to die and she was gonna throw them into a zombie yeah, yeah, and then they would have been zombies together and it would have been so funny. Yeah. I'm sad that that ended like too, Like it was so good. I actually should rewatch I hate I I want to rewatch it, but I don't want to because I know it there's no conclusion. Yeah, and I like watching rewatching shows that do have an ending. Yeah, So that's that was just depressing. And it's like, what would have been one more season, you know, I know, right, they could have wrapped it up in one more season. Yeah, seriously, So that was very upsetting, but it's also so good and so funny. So yeah, that's like I don't think there's another like horror comedy zombie show that does it that well at all. I don't think so. No, I don't think so. Another one I was going to talk about is Black Summer. I've mentioned it a little bit, but Black Summer and Z Nation. Have you heard of those? I feel like I've heard of z Nation, but not Black Summer. He's definitely more low budget than The Walking Dead or Z Nation, and it's more cheesy, but it's meant to be cheesy at times. It's like a horror comedy, yeah, but also a little more serious than like sena career dia B. Z Nation is like this guy is in prison and he is possibly immune and they're trying he's their last chance at getting a vaccine all of this, and the prison is being overrun and they need to get him out. And then I think after that, I've only watched a little bit of it, so after that, I think it's just like them trying to get him where he needs to go, protecting him. And in Z Nation they refer to because the Nation is not the beginning of the outbreak, it's already happened. Uh. And in Z Nation they keep referring to when the outbreak happened as Black Summer, and Black Summer is the like essentially the prequel to Z Nation, but it's way more serious. It's not funny at all, and it's very depressing. And to me, what are these on Netflix? Netflix? Or Black Summer is on Netflix. I don't know about Z Nation. I know it's on AMC now. It used to be on Netflix. Maybe because they added a bunch of AMC shows on Netflix they did. It might be back on there then, but I know Black Summer is there. But Black Summer I found it hard to like the characters they I think that's the thing about the walking there too. It's like they're still trying to be good the main group. You know, they get more dark as the time goes on, but they're still trying to hold onto their humanity. Black Summer right away, I'm like all these people saw oh no, it's hard to like to find them in daring or like them because they're all doing terrible things from the beginning, and also, I mean, and things that make more sense because you know, like you're gonna do something dumb, like you're not gonna be perfect and be safe right away, Like there's a part in Black summer where one of the characters they're in a high school and he starts like playing with a drum set attracting all the zombies and it's like wow. And then there's another part where some one of the characters like there's a little girl, and she like runs after the little girl or they hear I don't even think she sees the little girl. They just hear like a kid laughing, and they run. She runs to save them, and the other guy doesn't want to. He wants to keep going to look out for himself. And then it was a trap. It's basically these feral kids that have gone surt evil and they're hold up in a school, that same school where that guy is playing with the drums. They're hold up in the school and basically they kill like they these kids kill adults to survive. They take their things. And so I mean, how quick would people act like that? I feel like right away, honestly, like I would like to think it would taking time for people there knows. But then I remember the flies. If if this month showed you anything, you know, exactly if this month, and then thinking back to twenty twenty showed us anything, then yeah, a lot of people would be shitty right away. It's like they were waiting for this to become so shitty. And that's why I don't like Black Summer, because it does that right away. It's dark. There's no like even the walking down something yeah, where it's funny, like you know, in the end of the first episode, when Rick is stuck in the tank, the last thing it ends on, you hear Glenn on the walkie talkie say hey, dumbass, and then and then it's like a fun song that plays and it's over, and that's supposed to be a little funny. Yeah, Black Summer, no mom, it's like that, all dark, all depressing. I don't like that because I feel like people are not always all dark either exactly. And that's I think that's one of the reasons that I liked Even all of us are dead, does it too, I have their funny moments and funny moments because in these times, people are still going to hold on to things, you know, yeah, well, like people are still gonna be people exactly, And Black Summer is just dark right away. So that's the reason why I didn't like Get as much. But if you're in it for the zombie action alone. I think it is better than The Walking Dead. It's more realistic and like the sense that you guys just sit around having conversations around zombies and they're not gonna like write anything, right, Yeah, So in that sense it is better if that's what you're looking for in like a zombie show. The other one I wanted to mention really quick was Kingdom. Did you ever watch Kingdom? Oh? I started it and I never finished it. Did you think it was boring? Yeah? What's it the subtitles or no? Yeah? Yeah, no, I don't even think it was. Sometimes because alves are dead, sometimes it matter to me because like I feel like actions started it goes. Yeah, Kingdom is like if Game of Thrones and zombies. Yeah, meg in like pre I don't know, modern times, times whatever, I don't know. Yeah, it's set in Yeah, so it's South Korean. Someone said it's it was set in like ancient Japan times, but that doesn't make sense. But medieval inspired Medieval times, okay, And so it's very like they do do like the political like sneaky things like uh, like Game of Thrones. I think it was very much like I feel like I watched like three episodes maybe, but it does take a little bit. Yeah, it really does. But it's it's so creepy because again it's like there's not a lot of things to protect yourself in these times, like there is in like I don't know, the Walking Dead. But it's also so creepy because the zombies come out when it's cold. It has to be like below not below freezing, but very cold, and they start coming so it doesn't even matter, like nighttime is worse. But then there's like the winter and they're like just overrunning like the cities. Oh wow. But I think it's only like, uh, there's two seasons. I don't think the third season ever happened, but there was a movie that takes place somewhere between the two. I want to say so to some people like that, like the political part of the show is like also interesting because it's not just I couldn't see that. And I do like that kind of stuff sometimes, but sometimes it's just too slow. It's funny because I know it was like that Showgun, Showgun. Oh, I never I wanted to watch that. I watched it only because Paul was watching it. Oh, but it was good. It was yeah, Okay, and sometimes yeah, subtitles, but not always. Oh oh, I see, I can't remember where where the movie takes place, and be it Diggs in between the seasons. But it's a it's a fun watch if yeah, if you don't mind subtitles. But the zombies are very different like that alone makes them a love unique zombie. Yeah yeah, and I guess also, I didn't even put it on my list, but the Loss of Us, I forgot the Lost of Us. Oh, I'm only the you not again. I never watched it. I never played the game because we're not like you. I only play Starry Valley. So right, that's why we don't have a game category of zombies because I played this one game of Jesus sounds no, it's this like cartoony, very cute, oh like indie game where your Jesus and zombies you just punched the interesting. I used to play that too much. It was embarrassing when we were young game younger like PlayStation one days. Our cousin Bolon had Resident Evil and yeah, and I never played it because it scared me too much. It scared me meat so much. But I used to watch him play it, and I think maybe our brother played it sometimes, but I don't think so he was younger. Back to the Never Scared. Also, yeah, I think it was just our cousin. We just watch our cousin play it, and oh my god, it was so scary. It really was. And I've actually never even seen the movies neither, Like there are must if we're like talking about zombies, but that maybe you never watched them. I don't know. Maybe I feel like it's one of those things where at this point I'm like, I don't know, Yeah, that's how I feel about what is it? Game of Thrones? Yeah, and I don't blame you on. And also an eight terrible eight the last season I don't know, I don't remember with the number of it, but yeah, the last season terrible. Also that has zombies, sort of what does the dead the Game of Thrones? Oh really? The White Walkers Yeah, oh I forgot about that, but they're very like I kind of wish they would have been a bigger threat than they become. And then the way the Maiden like White Woker dies is so dumb. So oh wow, oh last of us I forgot because you haven't watched it, because a lot of these you all have also seen and that's why I put them on the list, not all of them, but Last of Us also really good. Some people debate if they're zombies or not. But if the Girl with all the Gifts is on here, then so is the Last of Us because it's the same fungus both things, but it has like very unique type of zombies. Why do they think it's not zombies because it was caused by the funks or because they like they're Yeah, it's differently and they're the undead, right, Yeah, they're dead and they bite people or no do they do? Yeah? They attack people and it's breads it. Oh yeah, the spores. But I'm wondering why how is it? Oh? So some people say, no, the creatures are not the Last of Us are not zombies. They are people who have been taken over by a fungal infection. But it's like at the end of the day, Okay, I see, I see. Oh you know what is like that? What moves the dead? Or what be said night? And forget which one? Did you read that? Yeah? I remember, you don't remember when they talked about it, even recommendations. It was because I forgot about it. I listened to the audiobook and it's by T Kingfisher. I want to say yes, I don't remember which one is the first one because it follows the sworn Soldier with the name that I remember right now, hm Alex something. Anyway, and in the first one, it's like a retelling of the House of Usher with zombies. Yeah, but it's not really zombies. It's like fungus and they take over the body, so it's similar to like sounds like it's similar to the Last of Us, right, yeah, and like the people are there, they would just take it over by the zombie, by the fungus, but there's no cure and they eat other people. Okay to me, I'll take it zombie. Yeah, and the the fungus is a real fungus called the zombie and fungus oh, which is the same as the girl with all the gifts. But so yeah, that's why to me, it's still a zombie show slash game which I tried playing, but like, I can't play games that I have to think. I'm sorry, I can't if I had to follow more than one thing, Like, I don't know, it doesn't make sense because I don't know Starty Valley just click things and collect things game. Yeah, I can only play one cozy game, Starty Valley. That's it. Sometimes I would play this other game called super Wagon Adventure where you're you're in a wagon and you're trying to jump over things to survive, and I'm not good at it, but I played that a lot. So yeah, no games that I have to follow instructions like that was too much for me. But it's supposed to be a really good game probably is. That's so good, got a lot of awards. And the show also also really good. I don't know I can compare the two because I didn't play the game, but the show was really good. I had that wet episode with the guy from Parkston rec oh Ron Yeah Ron, Yeah, episode ever, saddest episode ever I've heard of the episode, Yeah, iconic. I don't like I want to watch this in too, But at the same time, I hate the that I now know the inspiration of The Last of Us May One. I want to watch the second season, but at the same time, I hate oh that I know the inspiration of the game and the show. Yeah, it's very like off putting, so but like I love better Pascal, you know. Yeah, Well, I feel like you guys, don't watch it, honestly, Yeah, it's already made hard for me. But yeah, yeah, what's whatever gonna do? Nothing? No, right exactly, but that's off putting. So but but yeah, that's another really good one, probably number three for me, because again I still put The Walking Dead above it, even though that probably does not make a lot of sense to a lot of people. They're just they're different, they're not just like you know. Yeah, so yeah, I think we can end it here. It was this went on longer than I meant too. This is like a full episode of zombies. Oh my god. Next one, vampires. I feel like I've consumed a lot more vampire things, so I think I've consumed less vampire things. I think, Yeah, I think. I think for me, we're gonna like, I'm gonna have to actually make a list so I remember though, Yeah, I'm gonna make a list too, but it's gonna be way shorter than my zombie Okay, so movies show them books, yeah, okay, okay, okay, okay, because we don't play games, yeah no, but yeah, all right, thanks everyone for listening. This was a lot of fun. I love talking about shows and movies, so yeah, all right, and stay spooky. We'll catch everyone next time by
