Hello, Hello. Before the episode starts, we did want to share that we have linked some resources for anyone affected by the LA fires in our show notes and that our hearts go out to everyone affected. The linked sources also include gofundmes for Latino families affected by the fires, as well as other resources. And I also wanted to add that you can find me on PNW Hunts and Homicides episode this week. There are podcasts about true crime and haunted things in the Pacific Northwest aka Washington, Oregon. Whatever else makes part of the PNW I don't know anyway. Fun fact, Guadalajara is sister cities with Portland, Oregon, and that is why I am on their latest episode, so you can check that out at PNW Hunts and Homicides. The link is also in the show notes. And one more thing, if you recall all an episode we did last year, we had Aiden from Susto and Lany from its Haunted What Now guests on an episode with us because we announced we were starting a podcast called Concitos Anonymous where we give people advice, and that is still happening. So if you have advice, send it to us. I have information in the show notes on how you can get that to us. But yeah, all that information is in the show notes and yeah, let's get onto the episode. Hello. Hello, this is Christina and Carmen and this is another episode of spookyto as a podcast for all things as boogie true crime in in America today just spoogie. This is a little bit of a different episode because one I didn't get a true crime story ready because we wanted it to be our mom's story by itself. Yeah, because that's what we're sharing today. We shared it last week where she shared it. We recorded an episode with her in Spanish and we translated it for or Spanish Challenge friends so that everyone can hear it. We want to include everyone in this because the story was traumatizing. It really was. It was scary. Yeah, yeah, honestly, up there top five scary stories I've heard like people sharing, you know, yeah, I would put it up that high. Yeah. So before we do that, though, we do have a very short listener story. And if you want to share your story with us, you can email a spookyo do at gmail dot com. You can DM it on Instagram, you can use the little contact us form on our website. You can call the Spooky Hotline. All of that is in the show notes or in the description if you're on YouTube. So yeah, all right, let's get into it. So this is from Selene. Selene says, I have a few years following you on Instagram and listening to your podcast. I listen when I'm cleaning or driving. Well, here's my story about a few weeks ago. I was on my way to pick up my son from basketball practice. My dad called me and told me that he couldn't find my daughter. I told him, what do you mean, I have her with me. He said that when he was getting out of the shower, my daughter knocked on the door and was yelling Pappy Cruse. I told him he was hearing stuff, So you rushed out of the bathroom, went to his room and finished getting dressed. But when he was doing that, he heard her again and told her hold on. He heard her again, Pippy Cruse, and heard when she ran away. That's when he opened the door. It didn't see anyone, and that's when he called me. But by this time I was in line picking up my son, so it couldn't have been my daughter. My mom sprayed holy water all over the house as she should, Oh my god, as she should, and Selene, you had to let us know. Is at the end of it, like did you not see or did no one see anything or hear anything weird? After that? Well, hopefully for her sake, for everyone's sake, it was like a one time thing. Yeah, because this isn't even like a normal It's like a little maintain, like a little ghost. This is yeah, this is a minute scarier, right, this is the worst kind. I agree. Oh that's creepy. All right, well let's get started with our mom's story again. It's horrifying. So I forgot to say this in the Spanish episode, but she does mention suicide. So I was listening to it this morning and I'm like, maybe we should have said asid about that. My bad, Oh my god, I can't. Sorry, you need to stop. First of all, Okay, it's also if you're not on video, this will make any sense. But Christina is making the hand motions of Ashley Trebino. They keep popping up on my for you page. People keep making this a filter and they're like, yeah, oh sorry, if anyone is on as talk, you know, you know, yeah, okay, sorry, sorry, all right, So yes, content warning for suicide mention of suicide. So let's yeah, let's just start again. Very traumatizing story. Truly has scared us all of our childhood, and we finally heard it all for the first time. Yeah, so it all started with our Tia, our mom's oldest sister, when she was Tia Ludez. Yeah it's because you know, yeah, sorry, I know the name. The other episode we said our THEA and then later on we say Tia Ludez and we didn't specify who it was, although I feel like it was clear because then Yeah, but still, you know, it's in the beginning. Yes, so, yeah, it all started with Artia Ludez, our mom's older sister. Our mom was around eleven, she thinks, but it's all like a blurnow. Yeah, I think everyone was older because she said shortly after Artia left the house, and I think she left already, not as a teen like under age teen. Oh, so you know what, she was very older. I think our mom said first she said she's eleven, and then she was like wait, wait, I'm getting like everything mixed up. I think I was like a little bit older, like fourteen or fifteen. This would make more sense. Yeah, this will make way more sense, because then I would put at eighteen or nineteen. Yeah, and they all used to live and I think we've said this many times, but in Guadalajara, Jalisco, and in Guadalajara they lived in this place. We all learned to be Lapencion. They call it lapcion. I don't know why. Yes, I'm not sure why. I forgot to ask car when we were sitting there. You asked me before. She's like, I don't know, we just called it that. Yeah, I think you're right. But it was pretty much a parking lot with a room with a small building and that building was a single room, and then right outside of that room was like the kitchen area, but it was all outside, and then there was an outhouse like a bathroom outside and a big, big tree, and it was a pretty big parking lot. There was also a like a mechanic shop in the back. Yeah, it had a car mechanics shop in it. And then it also fit forty cars to be parked there. And they got to live there for super cheap, if not free, because they took care of the cars and all of that, or watched over them. There was always someone there to watch over the cars. Yeah, and so basically that was their job, Sash. They got to live there to do that. But this was like ten people in this room. So yeah, because it was just a single room. All the kids had bunk beds that they all like shared, except the oldest kid got to have like the single bottom bunk by themselves, and everyone else shared in his ass. As someone left, someone else took over that bunk. Is how it worked. Like they got the privilege of having room to sleep alone. Right, So Arthia had the bottom bunk and her mom had the top one. What she shared with someone I don't know which, sister. I want to say it is your Dana Avevan, but I'm not sure. And there had always been stories about this place Lapenzion, like little small things that didn't really bug anyone, like oh there's a shadow during the night. Yeah, it was always outside, never inside the room, and usually only the people who were out super late saw anything. So our Alito, our grandpa, and then like two of her uncles, and that's how everything was for a very long time, the ones that were out there in La Pista, yes piano, and so yeah, this is how things were for a long time until one night it all changed. Sadly. Everyone was asleep and around two thirty three in the morning, our Tea lures So, who was alone in the bottom bunk, felt like someone sat in her bed and then like something was climbing on top of her, which we would say celesubmerto or you know, sleep paralysis, and she kept trying to scream, and like at first she was paralyzed, she couldn't scream. Finally, when she was able to scream, everyone woke up, and that was really it. Everyone just moved on. They were like, oh, no, something scared her at night and okay, and that was that. Yeah, and that was that. Things were normal again for a little bit, except you know, that was one single strange incident that happened inside for the first time. But then she left, you know, everyone moved on. She left to go live with her boyfriend. And when she left, our mom took that bottom bunk. It was like the oldest privilege, so she got to sleep in that same spot. And she's not sure how much time passed since she took over Artia Ludus's bed, her older sister's bed, but after some time, the same thing happened to her too, so it was two three in the morning. She was asleep. She felt someone sit on the bed next to her legs and then she felt numb, frozen in place, and it was like the numbness went like from her toes to her head, like it traveled, and then she was like frozen. She couldn't move. She heard whispers in her ear that she couldn't understand. Yes, thank you Carmen for that reenactment. As far as she as we all know, Artia didn't hear the whispers, just our mom. But everything else was pretty much the same. And this happened a few times for a while, and then she decided like she was going to do something for some reason about this the wrong thing. Well, and she talked about something that everyone always heard and I don't know if they talked about it in church or where, but she said it was like common to pray for like the lost souls that were in the purgatory and stuff like that. So it was like a normal belief, I guess. But nobody told her to do what she did next though, no, right, so you know, with that information she went okay, And so like what Karen was saying, there is a specific prayer that like you pray to help spirits like move on that are stuck in this like realm and you know, this world. And she was like, nah, nah, I'll do one better. So yeah, she went to the church. She kneeled and she said, God, I know there are a lot of spirits out there that need help. Send one to me, and I will help. Wild behavior, very very wild behavior. And this was like mistake number two. Yeah, And I mean like, I don't I don't think God would have like actually sent someone to her. I think this like this thing overheard this somehow or like this was like oh yeah I needed this. Oh finally someone. Yes. Yeah. Around the same time that all this is taking place, somehow the family got they got a Wigi board. She doesn't remember how it ended up with them. Maybe someone gifted it to our and everyone used to sit around and use it together like a family activity. And it even became like an extended family like literally everyone. Yeah. Yeah, like board game night, but with the Wiji board game night. Yes, yeah. Weirdly enough, the punch it only moves when our mom was touching it or ar theia that had moved out. Yeah, the only two people that slept in that bottom Bunk, the only two people that had really prouds this incident. Yes, so already like not the signs are pointing to something not good. Yes. Eventually the board told them its name was Danny, and it also revealed that it was in love with Arthia at some point, the one that didn't live there anymore. And they all thought if they kept using the board Luigi board, it would help them get rid of this entity that was coming at night and hunting her mom, so then she could finally rest. And by this point it was happening every night, the sleep paralysis, her waking up screaming and like nobody was sleeping. So they kept bringing the board back out and Danny the board would tell them. It would give them like instructions, like how to get rid of it, and so it said, like to be at rest, I need you our mom to walk out to the mango tree that's in the property and dig. And our grandpa had to be standing in the doorway and watching her, but he couldn't go with her. She had to go by herself. And then she had to go dig until she found the spirit's bones. And then once this entity was in a proper resting place, like a cemetery instead of under this tree, it could finally be at rest. And also that's where it was coming from every night. Yeah, yeah, that's where you lived. Basically. Yes, our mom would hear the footsteps coming from the tree into the room. Then next to her bed is where they stopped. And it wasn't just footsteps. She would hear crying moans all all the way from the tree to her bed. And the crying wasn't it wasn't normal crying. It was like, what is the word ethereal? I don't know if that's the right word. I feel like ethereal means like heavenly to me all least, I don't know that's the opposite of ethereal. Yeah, so like like a voice or sound that's out of this world, not a human voice, but not not ethereal, because that's again that's keaviline like hell like hell, I guess yeah, yes, yeah, I don't know if you're gonna mention this later. But when they at first, they didn't know what this spirit wanted, and it couldn't really communicate at first, right, it would just like like one word here or there, like help aluyah Oh, I didn't even say words at this point. Okay, so then it was the Wiji when they were using the Wiji board that they already knew what they needed to do. It told them on the Wiji board. Yes, the Wii board was timing them, yeah, but not Yeah, that's how they were getting all this information that I remember that. Yeah, all of that was coming from the board when they used it. So can you imagine sitting there just waiting for all of that to spell out? I know that's why I'm like, that doesn't sound right, that's so long. But I mean there was plenty of people to take notes. Yeah, that's true, you know. So she heard this every night and they would stay there crying into her ear until like five in the morning, like all night. Yeah, so she wasn't sleeping, Yeah, she wasn't sleeping. Some nights, instead of standing next to her and crying, Celesubia got on top of her, and this is when the sleeper loss has happened, and then it was just like crying, making like ghostly creepy ass sounds there. Other times she would hear steps and then it would stop in front of her and then she could just feel it staring at her all night. And that's it, and just that sensation like when it did whisper, cry and moan. She knew it was next to her, but she could hear it like inside of her ear, like like even better than ear wearing earbuds the way like I pictured it, like bat is that a word? Yes, not saying that word right, but you know what I'm saying, right, I know the word you're trying to say for ptating, but that sounds like there's too many letters in the riverb reverbating. No, you know what we're trying to say. Yeah, yeah, but yeah, that's what I pictured too. So worse, Just every little bit of this was worse, but yeah, like an echo in her ear. And a neighbor of theirs, who was very spiritual, told her mom that she had to ask the entity what do you want? Because once she could ask it, what do you want, it's the entity itself when it came to her, then maybe they could get a better insight of how to get rid of it. But the problem was that she couldn't ask because you couldn't move when it was there. She was frozen. She couldn't open her mouth to say any words. Nothing. The neighbor told her to do it in her mind and then she could find out what it wanted and get rid of it. But she was sure if she wanted to do that, because then I wouldn't I don't know like I would, I wouldn't want to do it. Yeah, no, meither. So she went to her grandma Mibela and told her what the neighbor had said. And Mibella asked her, like, do you have some boyfriend that killed himself or something, because he might be trying to force you to join them. But our mom didn't like this, couldn't be anyone that she knew hunting her. Mabella also told her, like, you can do what the neighbor said about asking what it wants, but if you do that, there's no going back. You're no longer going to hear into un intelligible whispers. You're going to hear every word that it's seeing. Clearly, from that point on, you have to be very careful if you do this, because some entities are only hunting you this much because they want you to take their place where they are so they can save themselves from being stuck, so they can move on. And this is like something that is like a Chadro negro you know. Yes. When she mentioned that part, I immediately thought of a chad On Negro. Yes, And so our mom didn't know what to do anymore. She wasn't sleeping, she was losing weight. Her dark circle dark circles, like her under eye, it was permanently dark. She was desperate. She didn't want to go through this anymore. She had even told me Bella that she wanted to die because she was so, so, so tired and so scared. She dreaded nighttime every day, and this night after she left me Belace was no different. She laid down to try and sleep, and at some point, like every single night, she heard the footsteps coming from the tree, eleanto, the cry. Then it this time there was chains dragging along worse like every yeah, yeah, so now yeah, there's the sound of chains dragging on the ground along with the cry, the wailing. She took the breast, waiting for it to get to her bed, and when it did, in her mind she asked, what do you want? And then she heard it clearly say for the first time, hallelujah. Disturbing, very disturbing. I almost threw up when I heard it, was like, what do you mean that's the first thing it said, horrifine, It told her Hallelujah help me, Hallelujah help me. It could only say those words. So from then on, every single night she would hear the same thing coming from the tree, footsteps chains, crying Hallelujah help me, Hallelujah help me. But it wasn't even like like the way she's she told us. It wasn't like a normal Hallelujah helped me. It was like a crying saying the words like like wal that way. Yes, yeah, so worse, worse, all of it. Yeah, our grandpa decided to go to the church to ask for help because, like again, nobody was resting at this point, everybody was worried about her. She was keeping everyone up. Yeah. Yeah. The priest he spoke to was a younger priest, and that priest told him the first thing that needed to be done was getting rid of that ouijipord, but like actually getting rid of it, not just throwing it away, like destroying it. And so our grandpa when he got back from the church, she told her mom to go and tell them what was happening to her, to like get more help, more advice, so she did, but unfortunately for her, it wasn't the same young priest when she went. It was some old geezer yeah, old prick. Yeah. And so when she told this priest what was happened to her, the only being this priest for Washa, tell me your sins. And she said everything again, like please, I don't know what to do. I'm not sleeping, no one in my family's sleeping. And he said again, tell me your sins. And she's like, oh my god, I'm being haunted. Yes, this exchange I had been warmer time where he was like, tell me your sins, and she was like, please, I need your help. I need you to come to my house and help us get rid of this, Like help us, please, I can't sleep, I can't eat, I can't do this anymore. Please, And the father was silent, and then my mom just watched us. He left the confessional. What kind of shit is that? It remind me of what is the other book by that we read? Oh my god, yes, Senda when she goes to the church for help because she's being haunted. And of course the old priest is like, if I hear you talk like that again, name bullshit. I thought of that too. Yeah, so we'll just do what that young said, We'll get rid of the board. Only he didn't do that exactly because again he was supposed to destroy it physically anyway that they could, and he just threw it away. So when he threw it away, it came back. It just appeared under our mom's bed. And by this point, the board was telling everyone that it was in love with Artha and it was also doing things to people. Yeah, the husband of our mom's aunt was over and again everyone at one point came over to look at the board and yeah, like we said, it was an extended family activity at this point, and he, you know, while they were all using it, he said to the Luigi board, you think I believe in you. You're just stupid, bored. You're not real. You're not real. And the board replied, wait until tonight. I'm gonna pull your legs. I would have shited my pants, I would have thrown up. Yeah. Yeah. So one week later, this uncle goes back to the house and tells him you need to get rid of that board because for the whole week he had not been able to sleep. Something was pulling his legs. Yep, and pulling his blanket off. So yeah, he wasn't the only one having experiences with the board either. Also didn't believe in the board back then, and the board would tell them like, I am showing you respect because you are Ludus' mom, and he the board was in love yeah, and told the board, okay, if you're real, do something to show we and the board spelled out like, look at Mono. And Mono is another nephew who was around three at the time and also happened to be the three year old son of that same uncle. Those legs were pulled. Yeah, so everyone, because again everyone came over to do this with the board. So everyone turned to look at poor Mono, and Mono was just standing there and suddenly he fell. But it wasn't a normal fall. He felt like he was flipped over like a cartoon yeap, like when the cartoons slip on a banana slip. That is how he fell, Yes, and he hit the floor and obviously started crying because yeah, he didn't deserve it, Oh my god, did no very somehow, our grandma still was like I don't know, I still don't believe. Then the board said look at the table, and so again. They all turned to look at the table and all the dishes were standing up on their own, but not because I mean some dishes do stand on their own like a bowl it can stand. No, they were like on their side stand. Yeah, so exactly like that. So finally thought was like, no, we need to get rid of this Ouiji board and oh no, this is I guess he didn't get rid of it right away. Yeah, this is when he tried to throw it away and it came back. Oh yeah, yeah, So Ablita decided to finally get rid of the board like he like he should have, but he didn't do it the way the priest said to do it, because the priest again said destroy the thing, do whatever you can to destroy it. And our Alito put it in a bag, took that bag out to the sidewalk to make sure that, you know, it was out there to hand to like the Tresh people. The next day and the next night the board was back under our mom's bed m hm. And then for some reason they decided to keep using it after they came back. I don't know why. This is the point in the movie where we started shouting at everybody. You're like, what the fuck are you doing yes, yes, And when they used it again, the board told them you dare throw me away again? And our grandpa told the board, like, you know, he was like, look, Danny, you're in love with someone you can't be in love with. You don't belong here. And Danny, the Wuiji board replied, then why did you bring me? And our Abito ended up burning the board and then burning it and burning it and burning it until like there was nothing there whatever it was left like he went to who knows how far to leave it somewhere, and it didn't return this time. So now the board was gone and had already told them what needed to be done, that our mom needed to go out during the night dig up the bones with the entity next to her, but nobody wanted to do that, like who would want to do that? So they were trying other things whatever they could at this point, and uncle gave our mom his rosary that he wore every day because he swore that it protected him from all evil, and so she, you know, would wear that other times. They tried to keep the Bible open during the night. They tried putting the open pairs and open pair of scissors under her bed, so they were trying all these things, but nothing was working, and Miblla, our mom's grandma, told her that she needed to get angry and kick the entity out, otherwise it would never leave because it knew that our mom could hear it and knew that it was getting to her and that it kept doing If it kept doing this, it would get what it wanted, which was probably for our mom to die and for her to take its place, yeah, and save itself. So these just things were getting worse. Whenever she managed to get any sleep at all, she had this dream, and this dream was always the same. She would get to this house and when she arrived, the house was always on fire, and then the door, the front door would open and there would be this like charred figure of a person standing in the doorway. And the first time she had this dream was also the first time that she saw the entity because she's walking toward the door and her dream the entity opened the door, and so they were face to face at this point, and she could see into its eyes, but everything else it was too burned to make out any facial details or anything. But she said that in its eyes she could send this deep sadness and that it probably died a horrible death. Who knows if there were others in this house that was burning that also died with this entity. And her mom just felt like this deep sadness for this thing that was haunting her. Yeah, she told it in her dream that she couldn't help it, and she was so sorry but she couldn't help. And she really felt bad that she couldn't help. Yeah, because she's a better person than I. I'd be like, buck, you, I can't help you, bet, give right off, you get the fuck out. But no, she felt so bad she couldn't help, and she felt so bad that she felt mean, getting angry at it and telling it to leave. Yeah, like Mabel I had told her to do so, and she couldn't do it. Alita would tell her, well, hey, why don't we just do what the board said and maybe we'll find some gold. They had heard of a girl back in Rancho, where he's from, who found gold like that, but she lost her mind and she was being kept tied to a bed, so they didn't really want to do that. Was it really an option? Yeah? So yeah, it's the girl's parents had the gold, but they lost their daughter. So yeah, our mom didn't want to do that, but something needed to be done because the situation was only getting worse. Maybe, I kept telling her, when you hear the spirit next to you, set up and yell at it, tell it to leave, and tell it this phrase, which means leave because I'm busy with the people who baptize my child. I had never heard this phrase before me neither. I'm curious to know if other people have heard it, Please let us know. Yeah, I had no idea it was a thing until I'm like, is this aial thing? Or is this like she said it was a thing. That's true she did. Maybe that's why we don't know. But is it like just stretch shows? Yeah? Yeah. Our mom was confused on how this would even work, since she wasn't anyone's commande de pilla or had any kids, but she was willing to do it because things were even worse. There were several nights that a different sibling would find her sleep walking toward the mango tree, and at least two or three times she could see marks on her wrist as if someone had been grabbing her very hard. And that's wild because things were like now, like there was like physical evidence of the content like it was escalating obviously, Yes, that's exactly what I was gonna say. At every point it was escalating. Yeah, yeah again worse yes, yeah. So the neighbor that the spiritual neighbor that we mentioned earlier, told them that the spirit was physically taking her to the place where it died so she could stay there and it could leave. And even her dreams were changing. Some nights, during the little sleep that she got, she dreamt that she was walking toward mountains. Behind the mountains there were gray clouds, and in her dream she knew she had to get past mountains, and the voice kept telling her to keep going. When she started having this dream, the entity started placing its hand on her head. Nah, and she could feel it. Yeah. When she felt the hand on her head, that's when she started walking. She would feel herself getting tired, but the voice urged her on, you're almost there, keep going. Go. While she walked in her dreams, she walked in real life, so this was when she was sleepwalking. That's when her siblings would have to bring her back to the room after finding her walking to the Maingu tree. There were a couple of times she woke up on her own sitting by the table outside, but the last thing she remembered was falling asleep in her bed. Another time, when one of her brothers tried to wake her up to get her back to bed, he felt like he was being pushed away by an unseen force. So something was really trying to take her yeah, yeah, and trying to stop others trying to stop her from leaving. So things like that continued to happen, and Alita finally said, let's try something else. This time, she had her mom wear the rosary from her uncle. They placed the open bible next to her and the pair of open scissors under her bed all the same time, because before this they tried all these things separately. What what did we talk about it? Before that there was about the open the putting the scissors, do you remember. Yeah, so that's what they say stops Brukas from getting because you know, like the according to legend, like we know, yeah, not all bluecas right like hashtag now all bluecass. Yeah, but the legends say that they like to suck newborns run LIKECI is an example. But it's like not just that, it's all the Ruka legends really like to take newborns, so people would place open scissors under the newborn's crib to stop the bluecass and then, like according to legend, you would find the cut tongue of brua who's trying to suck the blood, because that's what the scissors do. They would find it the next day on the crib of the baby. So they tried everything all the same time, and that night she could hear it again, the footsteps, the crying, the hallelujah helped me the chains, but it didn't come in. It stopped at the door. She heard as the entity turned around and whiled its way back to the tree. But it was a cry worse than she had ever heard before. It was horrible because it was upset this time. Yeah, so that night it went back to the tree and cried, and she felt terrible the next day, like it was all her fault and like she had caused this entity pain and that she had made a cry. And at this point she didn't realize it, but she was more gone than present, so like she was more over there in that world than here, more dead than alive. Yeah, she thought maybe the entity really did want to be friends. So that night, without telling anyone. She removed all of the prior protection, so the rosary, the Bible, the scissors, and that night the spirit was able to enter. That night, as she started to get up and sleepwalk, a A. Wulito asked her where she was going. He always stayed awake as late as he could to try and stop her from sleepwalking half asleep. She replied, it's because it's here. It's already inside. This happened just as he turned the light off. When she said that, he said, where is he? Tell me where the motherfucker is? Where is he? She told him he's next to you. But as she said that, the entity went behind within seconds. This was one of the only times she saw the full shape or outline of it. And she said, it's next to you. No, it's behind you. And he said, can you just picture that? Oh my god, that's terrible. So you know, behind you? Oh my god. So he was scared. Yeah, and he sat on the bed holding his chats and he's like, oh fuck, oh fuck, don't leave to please. Oh my god. I would be too. I would be too. Oh yeah, oh yeah, I'll be crying. I'm scared right now. And I already heard this after it more than yeah, after this happened, she finally said, no, this is too much, and she decided to do all the things they had done on the night you couldn't come inside, the rosary, the scissors, and the open Bible. And the next morning our ablitos were talking to each other wondering why it was able to come inside, and that's when our mom came clean and said that she removed all the things because she felt bad, and our alito was like, you can't feel like that with the dead. You can't feel bad for them. With these kind of spirits, there's no way of knowing if they're good or bad. So you had to stay far away. And that makes sense because like maybe this thing was putting on this show and wield all its way back because it wasn't getting its way, you know, well probably that's why. Yeah, yeah, So once they put all those things back, the entity was not able to enter the room. But now it stood outside at the wall where arm that's terrifying, well, where our mom's yeah, bed was, and it would call her by her name, so now it could say more things, Yeah, you do ned her name, yeah, And she could hear it all the way from the tree to the wall, crying out, Acelli, clemency, help do just that? Get it again? And it's I don't know, it's scarier in Spanish, Clementia, are you that it really is? It really is scarier in Spanish, like even when she first told us, like, adelujah, are you? I think it's the alliteration. I think so alujah. It's so oh my god, can you imagine fucking hearing that? I would have killed myself? Yeah, I'm going to survive this long. Yeah. So her parents are grandparents, decided to send her mom to Mama Juanita, her paternal grandmother, for a week or two, all of a sudden, thinking that maybe this is in her head sudden even though there was as yeah, no, of course, everyone was desperate. Yeah, And once she was there, she was able to get the best sleep of her life, well since the last past nine months, however long this thing had been going on for and nothing happened to her while she was at Mama Juanita's. While she was gone, her oldest brother Artio said, Heio came back home super late, you know, and them a na pista as he did. This was normal, typical, yes, and he usually slept outside with the blanket in the kitchen when it was really late, like he woudn't even come inside, and that night he thought it would be oh my god, I can't so he thought it would be funny to use our mom's blanket to try and trick the entity, and he heard the same sounds that she heard every night, but he didn't stick around to see what would happen. He left to sleep at a friend's house. He said fuck this, and as he was running out of the house, the dishes the chairs at the table were all moved around. For a while, the entity was pissed when she finally went back home after that week a week and a half, the entity came coming to her during the night, but it never went back inside. Then it must have realized he wasn't gonna be able to haunt her anymore, because slowly, over time he stopped coming. But because she was so used to living like this, she wasn't fully happy it was over. She was sad, and she felt terrible about forcing the entity away. Even though the haunting seemed over, her sleep and health didn't recover. Now. She laid awake at night feeling lonely because as terrifying as it was the entity had been her company during those sleepless nights. At this point, she was feeling suicidal, like she didn't want to live anymore, and she even tried to die by suicide twice, but both attempts failed. Man Finally, after some time, she reacted and realized this had to stop, and she said aloud, I don't know where you are anymore, but I can't help you. I'm sorry. I can't be the one to help you move on. Maybe somedays someone else will be able to do that, to do what I couldn't, but it isn't me. I hope you find peace. And with that she was able to start living again. More time passed, things were almost normal again. Our mom didn't sleep in that bottom bunk anymore. She was in the top bunk with another sister, Artiana Ben, who for some strange reason, really wanted to go out and see the morning star, which is planet Venus, and you can see it just before dawn. Best one night's leaving, but it's not quite dawn like dusk, and our mom told her don't go out there, it's still dark. It's still out there. It finally left me alone, but if you go out there where it lives in the tree, it might latch onto you next It's still there. And she knew this because once in a while she still had dreams about the tree. She was no longer walking toward it or toward mountains, and the entity wasn't visibly there. It was just a tree. But she took that as a sign that was still there. But Urthiana Ben didn't listen. And as soon as she went out out there to look at the morning Star, she came back inside screaming, screaming, crying, throwing it up, fell to her knees in lapentune truly because she was passing out, just on a breadge of passing out. Yeah, she did actually fall to her knees. We meant that quite literally. And so everyone woke up when our came back and throwing up, screaming, crying, and our abaity to turn the light on. And when our Da finally calmed down, she told them that while she was out there trying to find the morning Star, the shadow of the entity was standing by the mango tree and it might have said something to her in this, you know instance, And so she ran back inside screaming and our wady to told her, like, don't go back out there again, not during the night, unless you have to go to the bathroom, like nobody go out there. Yeah, and even if you go to the bathroom, it needs to be quick as quickly as possible, like they had finally gotten rid of this entity, and I were going back out there, like no one wants it back. Yeah. And even though our Tiana didn't see it again, she was traumatized. She would wake up screaming, or she would she would try to literally sleep on top of her mom, like using her as a pillow. Yeah, Or she would run to our grandparents bed, and then from there she would yellow Araceli, which terrified her mom because it reminded her of when the entity would say her name. Yeah, yeah, yes, So she was just out here making everything worse. And then like our mom couldn't sleep because of how Artia was like sleeping on her or calling to her, and our mom needed her sleep, like after so much time of not sleeping. She would tell Aralitos her parents, like, please make her stop. It's reminded me too much of the entity when she's calling out for me at night, And yeah, understandably, so Luckily for Artiana Belle, she didn't seem to have seen it again. It was just a one time thing, and really no one saw it again, not that much years past. They all left this nightmare behind. At this point, our mom left Mexico for the US. Well, was she twenty one, twenty two something like that, something like that, and you know that's where we were born, like a year after or something like that. I Will eat That came to visit when we were four years old, so like late nineteen nineties at this point. Yeah, and this is like years years, years after this whole or deal that or Mom went through when she was visiting. Or I Will Eat That told her mom that they heard the entity. Her and A Willita heard it at night. They were asleep when they just heard. So, Yo, why do you like that to scare you? You scare me? I know that was my goal? Damn wow, got me? Got me there, You got me. And neither one of them could move when this was happening, and in her dreams, or I Will eat That could finally see what our mom was talking about all those years ago, the charred figure of what was once a person. It also told them in that same dream that they were both having it at the same time that it had been burned. Yeah, insane. That's how you know, like it's real and it's not just you when someone else is experiencing the same thing. And it said to them that it had been burned. But then it just left and that was that. It's like it just wanted to say, hey, I'm still here. I did. I guess that's literally almost word for word. Yeah. Time passed. With money pulled together from siblings. Now in the US, they were able to get a house built for Lios and so finally they left what we called Lapenzion, that little room in a parking lot, but they lived there for years, literal years into a very I mean, like I think it's a very nice house. Yeah, I think so too. Yeah, and yeah, everyone left Lapentzion ten to fifteen years after all this. Now we're around two thousand and seven. In between two thousand and seven and twenty eleven, our Abulo ran into the brother of one of the owners of Lapenzion, that little room, and the brother had just moved in there momentarily and he had been hearing the entity, so it was still there. Yeah, But then he left the building is. I want to say, it's probably still there. We saw it in the mid two thousands. Probably our mom saw it again around two thousand and sixteen fifteen around there, yeah, one of those two years, because when she went back to Mexico for the first time, she went to go see this little room for the first time where you know, she grew up, and she didn't see or hear the entity, but she could sense that it was still there, like she had this feeling that it had not gone. But again they didn't see it again. So honestly, it probably is still there, and who knows how long it has been there, because then our mom also told us that this part of Guadalajara way back when used to be this sassienda owned by some person named El Major that's what they called him. And this is all like a past orally. I don't think there's any documentation of this, but this is just what they had all been told that El Mayord owned this huge scienda that covered where they lived in a pension all the way to this other neighborhood. What's it called. Do you remember? I don't remember all the top of my head in front of maybe I don't remember the neighborhood. But this huge part of this around there, it's around the stadium, right, yes, because that's what they call it. I can't even say that infna inferna be yeah. Yeah, And so el Mayor used to, you know, as most owners did, mistreat you know, the workers and you know, kill them and then bury them in that same land. And like nobody knows how many people were killed during this time and then just buried there. And everyone that lives in this neighborhood has you know, weird paranormal experiences like things turning off on and off on their own footsteps, sounds, and at some point there was a fire in this ascienda and so she thinks it could all be related to this. And if that is the case, this thing has been there for a long long time. Yes. The wild thing is that her mom still feels sad about how long the entity has been there and that she couldn't help it. Yeah, but yeah, that is the hunting of Maria. What a ride that was, right, What a journey. I I was very glad to hear the whole full story because there was so many parts to it that we hadn't heard. But also like just hearing it. It's I get scared. It's like this should be a movie, and knowing I have copywriter The Hunting of Maria and I'm just kidding, no, but it really is such an impactful, scary story, like I ImpACTA I have has affected me emotionally, and we've heard like bits and pieces all of our lives of this. And yeah, you know, our mom is a spooky lady and our dad is a spooky spooky guy. That's where we got our spookiness from. So that, yeah, that is why we need to leave. He's actually all three of them will actually they see things, and thankfully we don't. Don't skip us. I'm grateful, grateful for that. Yeah, and was it? I think it was Stephanie. When we're chatting with her, she was like, it might just be blogged, and I don't want to keep it blocked, keep it blocked. I'm not trying to more that chakra. No, thank you, no, thank you. But yeah, that brings us to the end of this episode. And before we go, we're just gonna take a little out of break and then come back with spooky recommendations. And we're back. Carmen, do you have spooky recommendations? I don't think so. I think since the last time we recorded, I mentioned that I started listening to The Reformatory by Nana Reeve Do Yes, But I feel like we talked about it because I was your speaker re comminiation last time, because you had finished it. Anyway, I now finished it, and I also loved it five out of five truly amazing, so good. And I think we both listened to the audiobook and the another narrator was so good at all the different accents. I'm like, how is she doing this right? So good? And you know, I feel like our mom reminds us, reminds me a lot about Robert, the main character, because he feels also bad for the Haints or the spirits at one point, like there was one reason I don't like listening to audio, or one thing I don't like about audiobooks is that I can like highlight a quote, you know, and so true. Yeah, And I kind of remember, just at the top of my head, like there was like something in the book that he's like thinking. He's like, maybe maybe they just wanted someone to witness them or witness their death or acknowledge their death something like that. And I feel like as our mom was telling us, like the full story of her haunting, that was like one thing that I kind of like stood out, Like I feel like because of her deep and it's the thing I feel like, I've heard a lot of people that are very in tune to the spiritual side that they have. Like not to say we're not empathetic people, because I do feel like I am, but anyway, that's what they're like on another level. Yeah, like people with this ability are deeply empathetic. And as our mom was telling us this story, like even now to this day, like you can feel the empathy she has still has for that spirit because they're stuck. If you know Spanish, please that is the way to hear this story, because yeah, you can hear her always crying in some parts. Yeah, just how bad you about it? I'm like, man, this is crazy. This thing is terrorizing you. Yeah, but yeah, it reminded me of the main character. I can't believe I don't even make that connection because you were so you were so right for making that kind of so spot on. And yeah, it was like a thing that stood out for me stood out to me from the book too, like the way that the ghosts are represented and things like that. Yeah, yeah, it really was such a good book. Yeah for my spooky recommendation, it's not spooky. It's more true crime, but like fictional true crime. It's a show. It's called The Killing. I talked a little bit about it, but I finally finished all four seasons. I don't know if you remember me saying this show depicted Seattle is sat in Seattle, and I'm like, man, Seattle looks so depressing. And then I'm like I looked out the window. I'm like, oh wait, it is. It's like that, this is what this guy looks. Like, what are we talking about? Literally, but the first two seasons follows the murder of a teenage girl and it's just them unraveling twist because let me tell you, the twists are twisting. There's just twists. I love a like Red Harrying and like they're following this case and just you could see how badly their fuck ups fuck everyone up, Like what is it? Some lives up? Hulu? Hulu, Okay, and you don't want it. It's on Hulu. It's an AMC show. It was on AMC first and then it was cut and then Netflix. Boughty and finished out the last two seasons. I know, and it actually has a conclusion. It concludes it wasn't like canceled without a final, like actual end to the story. So that's always nice when there's an actual end to a story to me, because so many shows just get cut and you never get to see an ending. Hate Clarita Diet. So yeah, the first two seasons follow that story. Some people feel that, like I've seen mixed reviews where the two seasons drag. They feel like it dragged out for too long for the same crime to be the span of those two seasons. I love a slow burn, you need too, and I also the relationship between the two detectives is just so funny. To me, I don't mind it, so I don't. I love a slow burn, so it didn't bother me, But that bothers some people. Season three is a completely different case that's just wild. And then season four is a completely different case that I just wasn't expecting. But it was also not bad, although I would say out of the four seasons, that's probably the weakest season. The one as tends to happen. Yeah, but no, it was like, if you like a detective drama. It's honestly enjoyable. It wasn't Je love drama me too. I've been wanting to watch true know what's it called True Detective, but one that has it seems like it's set somewhere else that's like snowing. I don't know at night night. I don't remember the name of the show, so scratch all that. So yeah, anything else? No, okay, okay, oh wait, wait, we finished, which is of lass. That's what I was about to say. Oh yeah, yes, we did finish, which is doing the ash Travino hands when you see videos of someone doing that. The search part is Ashtravino hands. Anyway, Yes, we finished, which is a bit best. So by the time you're hearing this, I will have sent out discussion questions to give every one time to answer them if you want to answer them, and we will read the results and maybe we'll live stream the book discussion on I don't know how to set it up. Still, okay, well maybe not. Then. I'm also excited to talk about the book because I feel like most of the time we have absolutely loved the book, and I liked it. I don't want to make it seem like I didn't like it. I liked it. I had a good time reading it. Yeah, but I feel like with other books, I haven't had a thing like where there's things I didn't really like or like. No I ha critiques. I guess this time I do. So I'm with you on that, different with you on that. Yeah, it'll be a little different. So yeah, I will be sending that out. We'll set up a day to record, hopefully live stream it, maybe with just the patron members because I have to figure out how to do it. I think though with Riverside you can live stream to YouTube. So yeah, we'll do that. We'll figure out. We'll figure Oh my god, we will figure it out, is what I was trying to say. Also in the description, I will put mutual aid funds for LA for the fires. I mean I've, as we've said many times, we grew up going not to La La, but like San Pedro Long Beach area because that's where we have family, but like we have love for LA honestly, so you know we're gonna do what we can. So I mean, I'll be using probably some Petroon funds instead of to help with the podcast to help with the fires. So if you're interested in donating, I will put some mutual aid organizations to donate directly too. There's also I've been showing it on our stories, but there's places that you can drop off of physical like items that they're needing like and then if I masks for people cleaning up the streets right now and then like items. So I'll be sharing all that in our social media, but in our show notes I will add some places to donate as well that we will also be donating to. And for everyone that has been affected, I hope everyone is okay. And I mean losing a home and having to rebuild and not even the home but everything that was inside. What a difficult, difficult situation to be to be in, yeh. And so our thoughts and hearts are with you and that doesn't do much, but we will be trying to help where we can financially too. So yeah, other than that, stay a spooky We'll catch arow and next time, Bye bye.
