Hi, This is Christina and this is another episode of Spooky Tales podcast for all things spooky, hunted, places, miss legends in Latin America. Today, there is no carming with me and I have a special guest. Her name is. April or Weird Spooky story Time on TikTok, which is how I found her. She started a pop up horror shop in December and started telling local weird spooky stories on TikTok in January, and you have to follow her. She's great. I also love when we have another Californian person on here because that's where we're from. So do you want to say hi to everyone? Right? Yeah? I actually used to listen to spooky stories a lot last year, so it was pretty exciting when you guys hit me up. I'm like, you noticed me. That's funny. No, yeah, I forget which video of dairs I came across first, but then I was like, oh, let me watch all of these, and yeah, it's always all all California, but you also do other things like I saw Wend's there at some point. Yeah, I went down a Duendez rabbit hole. You know. There was that story that women posted from Utah and I saw it when she only had like a few hundred views, and I told her, I said, girl, that's a Dlende and she's like, what's a Dlenday? And then I just took off from there and ended up with a whole Dunde series. Nice. Yeah, that's It's always funny how that happens. Yeah, it's also very fun telling someone for the first time, like, oh girl, that's Alenday. Ye. No. It is always exciting when you're able to like tell somebody what the weird spooky thing is that they're encountering, especially when they're like I don't know what this is, what's going on? Yeah? Yeah. And then before we get into your paranormal stories, I do have a couple of listener stories that we're going to read. So this first one, I unfortunately did not write down who sent it to me, but I know someone from TikTok that then emailed it to me, because that's another thing I love. And anytime I share a story from the two nine, especially Stockton, people just like flooded me with stories from Stockton, and it's like they're the only people. He's like, oh my god, you have a stocks and story. Let me said, my stocks and story and I love it. That's what happens to me with Santa Cruz because people are like, oh, my gosh, you're putting us on the map. I'm like, oh, we're a surf cawn. We're on the map. But I guess not for the spooky stuff. Right right, that's funny. So these are both from that area Stockton. So here's the first one. We always heard of the spooky stories that happened on eight Mile Road from the adults, but never experienced it until then. The drive itself to get to the other side is not really long, but at the time it was the only way to get home where my uncle lived. My uncle was driving down the road at night. It was a pretty foggy night and he had his lights on. He turned his head to the side of the road and sees a man walking at night. It was a little strange, but he shook it off. He didn't think anything, and so he turned his head to the side again. Somehow that person walking was ahead of his car, and this time every time he passed, the man kept passing my uncle's car. The next part was shocking. He told us he looked again and this time he didn't see the man. However, he looked at his rear view mirror. The man was in his back seat smiling. Oh hello, My uncle kept calm and prayed. After he passed eight mile Road, the man disappeared. Oh my gosh. And I wonder if that story is known for having like a hitchhiker. Like it is eight Mile Road allegedly except to be haunted. But I always heard this story of like a woman. It's always like a woman in a red I don't remember. It's like a red sweater, a red dress, or a little girl. But I've never heard of a man. So interesting. Yeah, we have a similar story out here in the eight three to one they call Old Stage Road, and it's a very similar story. But it's a woman that ends up in your car or you see her walking down the road and then you turn back and you don't see her anymore. So super creepy, somehow worse it's a man. No, I'm just kidding. I'm not no, No, we're kidding. We're kidding, okay, but that is different. You don't typically hear of a man hitchhiker. So, yeah, that disappears like gets in your car like it's always. Is, you know, yeah, and what made his energy stay there? Yeah? Like, why is he there? I don't like it. I don't like it. All right, No, thanks, all right. This next one is from Lannie's on TikTok. Hey. Hey, So I lived in Western Ranch right behind the high school. I have many spooky stories when I lives over there, but this one always gets to me. So this story involves three homes. My home, my neighbor's home, and my neighbor's neighbor's home, so two houses down. So this specific night, it's pretty late. Everyone was asleep besides me. I was downstairs watching TV We're out of Nowhere. I hear babies crying, but it sounded like it was coming from my mom's room. I kept looking at the staircase because it leads straight to my mom's room, and it was extra dark. The back of my neck was standing up, but I ignored it because at the time I had a little brother and I thought maybe he was crying. I continued to watch TV, and I ended up sleeping downstairs. The next morning, I asked my mom what was wrong with my brother last night? Because he was crying so much. I heard it all night, and she just looked at me weird and said that he sled through the whole night and no one was crying, so I let it be. Later that morning, I was outside and my neighbor came up to me and asked if my mom was babysitting babies last night, because she heard them crying from her house. I let her know she wasn't babysitting, and that I heard the christ too. Right when we were talking about this, my neighbor's daughter came home from work and started to tell us that that same night we heard babies crying. That outside there sliding door, there was footprints, and the daughter thought maybe her parents went outside to sitd next to their pool. And that was when my neighbor told her daughter that I wasn't her or her husband. While we're talking outside, my neighbor's neighbor came to see what we're talking about. We told them our stories, and when I tell you, this man turned white like a ghost. He said, the night before he came home super late, and when he was walking in his house, himself and his wife saw a lady hanging from their staircase. When they turned on the lights, it was gone. Let me tell you that I didn't sleep for months. Also, Gray Valley Park is super hunted. I've seen those swings swinging on their own when there was no wind or anyone near them. Oh my gosh, that's so creepy and how weird that, like they all experience something that same night. It makes you wonder if it's like the anniversary of something or right happened in that neighborhood. At some point, I'd be interested in knowing the history of that neighborhood, right, Yeah, I shouldn't, you know what, I should have looked it up. And then what's more interesting to me is like everybody heard these babies crying, but the other neighbor saw a woman swinging, so it's like was she a mother of a baby that lost babies or something? Right, and then they heard the crying of maybe that baby that like she wasn't able to care for that baby that was left like crying. Yeah, like some kind of like residual energy that's like not moved on or something. That's so scary. Yeah. Also where's that? Yeah, all of them, Like it's like, then you can't you can explain it away with logic because you're not the only one who heard it. Yeah, exactly, and it's like, you know, if you're not typically hearing babies and all your neighbors are hearing it, and they're all like, well, we don't have babies crying in our house, so where's this coming from. That's so wild horrifying. I don't like it. I know that's super scary. Oh and I forgot to say, but if anyone wants to send their stories, you can do that at at Spakitto's at gmail dot com or on any of our socials. I should have said that before the stories, and I forgot, so, but yeah, those are the stories that I have. Now, let's hear your stories. My So, I have a really freaky one. I don't typically tell it because I feel like people just think I'm crazy because it sounds crazy. So when I was like thirteen years old, I was in seventh grade, my friend and I we decided we're gonna play with the Ouiji bird because we were crazy. I think it was real, like I'm just like, okay, whatever, you know, we like played with it, and you know, we just kind of accused each other of pushing the planchet and we were just kind of like, whatever, this is stupid, You're doing it, No, you're doing it. Didn't say goodbye or anything, because we didn't think of a free Yeah, I no one knows that their first time exactly. So as like weeks and months went on, I kept hearing weird things in my house. But it was an old home, Like I lived in a really old home. I grew up in Watsonville, California, like a couple of blocks from the high school, which is a really old neighborhood. But it's an old rundown neighborhood, like like there was a history in that neighborhood and it being a poorer neighborhood. You know, things happened, said things happen, right, So I just thought like, oh, old house making sounds because that's what my mom would always sell me. Like I didn't come from a family that really believed in paranormal things, like you get laughed at if you said things like that, you know, So I was just like, oh whatever, And even when I would bring it up tell my mom, She's like, it's your imagination. You're just you're just scaring yourself kind of thing. So I start telling myself that, and then as the weeks and months went on, it just kept getting worse to the point where like there was one time where I was on like like a school break or something, and I kept hearing it sounded like people talking in our dining room, but I was home alone, and I remember I called my mom crying, and I'm like, I can hear people talking in the dining room, but when I go in there, there's nothing there. And she's like, oh, there just sounds carrying in the neighborhood. I'm like, why don't these sounds ever carry before, like plants, you know, and you know, being twelve thirteen years old, nobody believes you. You know. Well, I remember I would like go run to my friend's house because my friend that I played the game with she only lived like a block away, so sometimes I would just go to her house or I would tell her to come over because I was scared to be alone. So this kind of just kept happening for weeks and weeks, and then there was like another time I was on like a break because we didn't go we didn't My school wasn't like traditional Oh was it year round? Yes, it was round. We had that breaks. Yeah, So we had these weird little breaks all the time. So there was a. We were on another weird little break and of course I was home alone again. My mom used to give me chores, you know what I mean, like, oh, do the dishes, clean the floors, like do the line. You know mom's doing that. Yeah. Well one time she told me like help her clean up her room or something like that. And I was home alone and my friend, the one who I played Luigi board with because we lived so close, she would just like come in my house like it was. That was just how it was. She was my best friend. And one time I was cleaning a room and I could hear somebody walking around in the living room and I said, I said, I'm just going to make up a fake name for it. I said, Ashley, No, that's you, and she didn't say anything. So I was like, girl, I know you're just trying to scare me, Like I know you came in the house, I can hear you. And but I had my back to my mom's room because I was cleaning, So I was like back like this, I'm like I can hear you, you know. But she didn't respond. So then I was like, oh my god, you're so dumb, like you're trying to scare me. So then I turned around, Oh god, I'm getting goosel sinking about it. My heart's beating. I turned around and there was a girl standing there and she went and she ran into my kitchen, but the door didn't move, like she just went on. She went through the door. She went through the door, and I had her little swinging doors and like nothing happened, and I was just I just wose like like you know when you're so scared, like fight or flight or or freeze. I froze like I didn't know what was going on and I and I was just so freaked out because it definitely not my friend, like didn't look anything like my friend. And I will never forget that gasp it had like it was horrible weir. It just went and I was like, oh god, I got goose. I was just thinking about it, like it was so creepy. And I was like that was like the straw for me. I was like, this is so scary, Like I remember, I was like was it that the same day? I don't know. I just remember after that, things escalated like it just got crazy, like I just could hear things all the time. It was like there was whispering everywhere and voices everywhere and like running around everywhere, and I would be home alone and i'd call my mom crying and she'd be like, this is ridiculous, Like can't interrupt me at work. And then it just it just kept being bad. And then one time, so my friend, when I played Luigi board with her parents were like really religious, and so they went to church every single Sunday, and sometimes I would just go with them because I had spent the night that night or whatever. So it was one of those nights I spent the night and they were going to church, and they went to like one of those churches where they were like really intense and would like speak in. Tongues and it's okay, not a Catholic church, no, I think they were Presbyterian or something. Yeah, but they were like really a really intense church. And for some reason, we had my little sister with me. I was the oldest of five and I was a lot older than my siblings. So my sister that we brought with me was like a baby. So my friend like loved having babies around, so it's okay, yeah, so I'm like fine. For some reason, it was me and my sister at the church, and so we put her in the little daycare or whatever, and then somebody came and got me and they were like, hey, like, your sister's fussy, can you like come and be with her. So I'm like okay, fine, So I leave the church like the main sermon area and I'm like in like a lobby area playing with her. And then like after about maybe like five minutes, my friend's dad comes out and he goes the the pastor wants to talk to you. And I'm like, why middle church, Like they're in the middle of service. Oh not even after okay, the middle of service. So I'm like my heart's pounding. I'm scared. I'm like what if I did something to offend them? Like did I wrong? Like, oh my gosh, what did I do? Like I'm thinking I'm in trouble. So he was like, I'll stay with your sister. You go in, and I'm like okay, And I walked through like they're like the open doors. Yeah, how churches are the two big open doors through And I'm like it's like a movie walking down the center of this thing towards the pastor who's still up on stage the hold. Like everyone turns to look at you watching me as I'm walking through the pews, and I'm like, this is like, oh my gosh, Like I'm scared, Like I'm just genuinely scared of what's going on. And then I get to the front and he's like, when you came in, there was an evil there was an evil spirit attached to you. He's like, there's a demonic spirit attached to you. You're not possessed or anything like that, but they're like it's trying, like oh oh no, yeah, And I'm like, what the heck? And he was like, we need to pray over you, like we need to detach this thing from you. And I'm twelve, thirteen years old. I'm scared. I'm like, okay, so I know, like the entire chirch is surrounding me, like I like, I can't see nothing, but if I look up, I can see the roof. But everyone's just crowded around me. They all have their hands over me. They're praying, like a couple of old women were praying so hard they started speaking in tongues over my God, and I'm like, what the heck is going on? And then they gave me something I don't know if it was like holy water or like you know how they have the wine for the blood of Christ. Yeah, it was something like that. And he was like, okay, like when you get home, you need to put this on your door, your front door, and you need to say this prayer or whatever. And he said this is going to keep it from re entering your home. It's going to keep it from coming back to you or whatever. After that, I never heard voices. I never saw anything. I never saw that girl again, like, oh my gosh. And when I started thinking about it, I was like I was not singing ghosts. This was a demonic spirit trying to make me think this was a ghost girl so I wouldn't be scared curious. And you know, so many people say that, like like there's a lot of people that don't believe kid, ghosts can exist, and that's always something more nefarious pretending. To be a child to like you. And it was like it was like a girl like within my age, like she was a teen to know, to make it more like enticing. So it's trying to make me think like oh, it's just it's just this ghost girl that wants to be a friend or like wants help or whatever. It was like it kind of scared me, but it kind of didn't. So that's what made me freaked out when I when they told me there's a demonic spirit trying to attach itself to you. And yeah, it just after they said that, like it all like came together and I was like, oh my gosh. And then it wasn't until like much much later that I really connected the dots. I'm like, it was that damn ouigee board right late, with that damn weegee board, thinking it was something dumb. Then over months and weeks and you know, all this stuff slow, slow, slow, You're not gonna make the connection to one little tiny moment, you know. It was just such a slow progression until it was like really freaking me out. And then this church was like there's a demon man. Well, like you know how in the movies where they say like when they show you like the demon like attached to you, I imagined it like it was like attached to me, like just hanging there. It was just so freaky, Like it was just like the freakiest thing. And like, what's what scares me the most about it is like you know how they say that sometimes uh, like you can like something demonic that tries to attach yourself, it can lay dormant for like decades, and yeah, so I always have that fear in the back of my head that like, what if this thing is dormant and it comes back, do you still have the thing that you put in front of your house. No, I'm gonna get a new one, all right. Like I'm like every once in a while, like I'll get like holy water and stuff, you know, like just because I'm like I feel like maybe I need to brush it up onst right. And you know something my mom always tells me ever since I started this podcast and then like the TikTok page and all that, But she's like, if you're like talking about this stuff, you're inviting it in and you have to. She's been trying to get me to buy like this necklace of like I forgot what Saint to wear because it's supposed to protect you from that kind of stuff, and I still haven't done it. But she's like, I. Don't know, my forthing's in your house and you're talking about these things and it's like you're inviting them, and I'm like, I'm not. I'm not inviting them. No, And I've heard that too, and I think that's part of the reason why I don't typically talk about it a lot, because I'm like scared that it's gonna like remind it or something, or it's gonna be like, oh you remember me. Hey, you know, like, hey, this is not an invitation, okay, like no bad energy. No, it's really scary and like, I don't know, I don't know if it's like psychological or what, but sometimes I think that like when I do try to do things to like cleanse the air, a lot of the times I'll have upticks of things happening. Oh yeah. I don't know if it's because there's something in the house I live in now, because I never really had anything like that. Well well JK, I take it back when my daughters there's a weird thing. Oh no ever since then. So I always wonder, like, are these separate things happening because of the homes I live in or the energy that's around me, or am I some kind of like you know, some people are just like magnets for like yeah, no, And I'm like, or is it that you know what I mean? Or all the things? Yeah, it's really creepy because over the years in my adulthood, I've had like three separate people tell me that that there's a curse on me, and I've always wanted, God, what if they're sensing that thing in their sense they think it's a curse. Yeah. Like, my family has like a really close family friend that migrated from Mexico when he was like maybe like twenty, and like he's basically just been part of our family for like thirty years. She told me it. And then there was this woman who used to come into a bar that I worked in. She used to like come in there and like try to sell things. She's just like a little old woman. She was from She was like a you know, like the black people that are from like the Latin America area. Yeah. Yeah. He was like I can't remember what part she was from, but she was like very intuitive and she was like, honey, there's a curse on you. And I'm like, man, yeah, no. I was like so freaked out. I've never known how to like myself of it. And I've like tried to find like like healers, yeah, Kurndero type person because I'm like I feel like they're the only ones that like could really do something, because I don't want to find I don't know what it like. I don't like, you don't want to find someone that like doesn't do it right and then makes it worse. Yeah, And I don't want to find like one of those white women that calls themselves a witch because I know, no, no, I just don't think they know what they're doing. No, Like, I just I'm like, like it's all good and granted that's what you believe in, but I don't, like I need somebody whose family lineage knows how this shit works. Yeah. Yeah, and you were born in that stuff, you know what I mean. But I've never known how to like find anything like that. And so if anybody in here wants to pop in and tell me, you know what it is. We have a previous listener or what listener. And she has been a guest on the show a few a few episodes ago. She used to live in California, but now she's somewhere in the Midwest. Think but she does sort of that type of work. But yeah, medium shit, But I'm sure there's someone listening that can for sure help. Yeah, I know, like this is what you need to do or this is where they know somebody who can like do some kind of cleanse yes negativity because I don't know, you know, two people if two people said it, oh yeah, I separately said it, you know, so I don't know, Like I've had other people suggest it when I tell them, like weird things that happen, like especially after I sage then like things yeah, and I'm like, did I make something mad? Because this is supposed to make things. Better, like you know what, you know what's funny? Though, We had another gwennof Carmen my Twins coworkers. She came out and told us a story very similar where she saged her parents' house and she was after she saged it then like things start happening, but she does it like I think I think she stopped doing it finally, but every time she did it, something would happen. But one time she was like in the living room or something, and then they have like a chimney and then it was like peaking, like she saw something peaking like this like a wall or something. But it happened after she says and she's like, I'm not doing this anymore. Up orbs some kind of energy or something, you know. Yeah, So that's why I'm like, I need to get someone who like really knows what they're doing. And you know, my mom's boyfriend, he's he's he's Native American. He's part of the Chumash tribe. But they live kind of far, you know what I mean. They look near Yosemite. So I'm like, okay, yeah, well and I don't really come. He doesn't come up. He's such a homebody. He doesn't like you know what I mean, Like they've got a big piece of property and he's like, I'm staying here. Yeah. Yeah, one of these days I'm be like, dude, you gotta come help me. Like yeah, yeah. He's like the only person I know who would like know anything about how to address that kind of stuff. But it's crazy. Yeah, but it's so weird saying this whole story out loud again. I haven't so long. Oh man. Yeah. Well, let's hope that like it didn't stir anything up, because that would be terrible. I would feel so bad. I came on here voluntarily. You know, you're right, actually me get you to sign this? Not all right? You're like, you can't sue me if you have a Democrat presence come in. I'm going to write that up right now the draft. But yeah, no, it's it's a it's a wild story though, it's definitely one of the craziest things I've ever experienced. And had somebody told me this story and I'd never experienced anything like that, i'd be like, you want attention stop? Yeah, right, because I come from a family who's like, don't that's silly, you know, So yeah, it's really. So it's like I still have that kind of like self consciousness about it a little bit where I'm like, oh, people are gonna think I'm crazy. You know, this is a safe space. Believe your cursed, not mean, Oh my gosh, another episode, so I could tell you crazy things that happen. Sometimes it's like, oh my gosh, yes, where Carmen can my twin can join? And I had to tell her the correct time. Yeah no really because yeah no. My boyfriend he's like one of those very logical people, like he works in finance, Like he's just like. I need to know if this is just something I've noticed. But I feel like all of the like spooky gals, they them's everyone that has like into the spooky things, right, the paranormal ends up with someone that's very like logical and where because yeah, we balance each other out. You can't you can't have two people into the same things. And yeah, spral otherwise because yeah, my boyfriend is very logical, like very much like everything has an explanation. And when I first met him, I would like tell him weird things that would happen to me. He would always say, oh, well, you know, it's just because you're thinking those bad things happen. It's because you know, bad things happen because of the choices you make and blah blah blah, and you know. Now we're going together like for two years, and he's like, what the hell or something going on. I'm like, thank you, I told you, I told you, and nance I told you. I'm like, I'm not crazy. Yeah, yeah, well you're not crazy. I'm like, thank you for that validation. It was necessary, right, especially with somebody really really logical. It's like, I can't explain this, this is I've never seen this happen. And I'm like, that's when you know it's serious, really though, Yeah, because he's just like so logical, like he entertains my my spooky stories where I'm like, oh my gosh, you know this story I got in and then he's like, oh, yeah, that's crazy. But I can see his face where he's like, girls, like please, that's not real. Yeah, really, Like he tries not to say it to me, but he entertains me, so I'm like, but I'll see it in his face. I'm like, I don't even believe me. I do. Like, I'm like, I love you anyways, thank you. Yeah that's so funny. But yeah, I think that happens a lot. Yeah, definitely, we just have to bounce each other out. I guess. Yeah, well, I feel like this is an okay, please to wrap up to go eat. So before we go though, like I was telling you earlier, we always do spooky recommendations anything either like that you've watched lately or that you just absolutely love it's your favorite Hordy thing, like whatever you want to recommend. There's actually quite a few podcasts that I like to listen to. There's one podcast I like to listen to this it's funny enough. They're called Two Girls, One Ghost and Oh my god, I used to I used to edit that podcast. Okay, I love their podcast. Yeah, it's fun it's very fun stories that really do Yeah, I haven't really had time to watch any TV lately unfortunately, so I haven't really watched anything really spooky. But the things that I do typically like to watch I think everyone likes to watch is like Black from Your type of stuff. Yeah. Yeah, like things that get you questioning, like, oh my gosh, that's crazy, that seems like something that could actually happen in real life. I have to say, I watched the first episode of Black Mirror and it freaked me out and I have never continued that first episode is insane, and I was like, I can't keep this. Because it's like, oh my gosh, this seems like this stuff could really happen in our society type of stuff. Yeah, no, it's really crazy. But yeah, I haven't really had time to watch TV for a while, so unfortunately I can't give any TV recommendations, no worries I have. Yeah, I haven't been watching anything except when I went to go watch Sinners, which I already talked about. That was my last week's Spooker recommendation. And again it's so good. I just I just want to go watch it again, and I keep like anytime I'm like scrolling TikTok. I'll get it's like things about the movie Sinners. And then other than that, I have been watching. Er I don't know why really into that lately too, I watched The Pig don't go to things like I don't haven't watched anything new, but like I will binge old xbles. Oh yeah, I love expells, like I watched x fells. Like when I was a really small child, like I was a weird kid, and like I didn't get spooked out by things like I would watch Chucky and Freddy Kruegerles and then I would just go sleep in the dark in my room by myself. Like A right, yeah, She's like we are the same. Actually we're friends now. Now everything spooks me, I swear, that's funny. That reminds me. I need to start watching X files again. I was watching it and then I like forgot I was watching it. Then I wanted to watchs do that all the time because I'm falling asleep to it or something. Yeah, and then before we go things to plug where people can find you. So my TikTok is you can find me at Spooky Girl eight three one or just Weird spooky story time. I think either way, I'll pop up on TikTok and every Friday I post like a researched like legend or in the eight three one. I do a little bit of Bay Area too. Sometimes people will like say, hey, research this and it'll be outside of you know, the eight three one and four oh eight, But typically I stick to this area, and then throughout the week I just read people's weird spooky stories that they send in, and then on Instagram it's kind of more like horror movie focus. I do a lot of horror memes and stuff just because my pop up shop is typically like spooky horror movie items, you know. I do like key chains, I make press on nails, Okay, all kinds of like little tiny things like that, and just do random little pop up markets around the Bay Area and the central coast. So yeah, Instagram for the horror garb and TikTok for the spooky stories. Awesome. We'll put both of those links in the show notes. Yeah, but yeah, other than that, thank you so much for coming on.
