The Possession of Nash, The Devil's Cave and More Demonic Stories

The Possession of Nash, The Devil's Cave and More Demonic Stories

One of the creepiest phone calls received during the Mexican radio show, La Mano Peluda was received from a man who went by Nash. Nash made a pact with an entity and since that moment, feels there are evil beings inside of him.

On this episode, Cristina tells MJ about el Caso Nash, a devils cave and MJ shares two stories involving demons. First, they share a listener story.

[00:00:00] Oh, strong clap. Wow. It's all the frustration. David, you're all... I gotta release stress somehow. Yes. Okay. Well, this is Espooky Tales and that was MJ's aggressive clap. I'm Cristina. This is MJ. And yes, did I already say this was Espooky Tales? I don't remember.

[00:00:31] Well, let them know again. Well, yes, this is Espooky Tales. The podcast for all things espooky. Today, I was in a satanas mood, in a Satan mood. So I wanted to look for Satan stories.

[00:00:48] I believe we like talked about this in September because I was like, oh, I'm feeling like a satanic September, but like it's October. It's fine though. It's fine. It's fine. It crosses over. Yes, it does. Yeah, it's all fine.

[00:01:02] And not because I love Satan, but because I love stories involving the devil and I like saying satanas. Yeah, and then like your recommendation, right? For the last podcast, I binged the whole thing. It was so good. Oh my God, what's it called?

[00:01:21] Yeah, I'm drawing up a blank. Wow. Wow. I said I remember. The Exorcist Files? Oh my God, good job. Was it that one? Yeah. Okay. Yeah, it was. I was like unsure. I was like, do I have it wrong? But it was so good.

[00:01:35] And then like I was binging stuff and then I went on to like all like the Spanish podcast I listened to. And I was like, you know what? We're going to listen to more satanas. More Satan. More. More possessions. More of this shit. Perfect.

[00:01:52] But before we get to that and our listener story, there is a comment that I want to address on Spotify. If you don't listen on Spotify, then you might not know but you can leave like comments on every episode. And somebody left a comment on episode.

[00:02:08] I want to say the number is 135, Ghost Boy, Black Eyed Kids, and more. And then I'm just going to read the comment and then we'll talk about it. I didn't publish it, but I do want to address it.

[00:02:18] So, Itzel wrote, I've never cringed so hard during an episode. The constant stereotyping and allegations of drug trafficking was uncalled for. It is beyond disrespectful to the friends and family of the victims. And yeah, Itzel, you're right. And I'm sorry. You are. I should have cut all that.

[00:02:37] But like this guest had like the same jokes again and again, right? And I was like, man, if I cut this, then I'm going to have to cut it later.

[00:02:46] And then it was a lot of cutting and then it felt mean, but I should have just done it. And that was my bad. And we, I mean, we should have said something at the time, but I wanted to hear the story.

[00:02:57] And but I should have just yeah, I should have just said something. And it's also very hard when you're in that situation because like, I feel like sometimes you're just so like, what the hell is going on? That the brain doesn't catch up with it.

[00:03:11] And you just like awkwardly chuckle along. Okay, and then I was like, okay, no, like it really wasn't. It was a car. It was a crash. Like it wasn't that and he just kept going.

[00:03:24] So yeah, yeah, I should have been more firm with my like, no, it wasn't that. Stop making those jokes. Those are not funny. Because we don't know how those people like everybody's going to react.

[00:03:35] Like if we tell them something, we don't know if they're going to fly off the handle or not. And yeah, I'm gonna make sure I'm safe and Christina's safe. And I'm not going to like act out if it was in person be different story.

[00:03:48] But like it can go from zero to 100 real quick. Yeah. Yeah, and I don't want to be doxxed and I don't want all this stuff to happen to me or Christina and it's a very tricky situation regardless. We do apologize. We do we do.

[00:04:06] I will be vetting our guests much better and like, you know, putting an end to jokes like that because yeah, they're not funny. And if we were laughing, I think it's because we were nervous and like what the fuck it was very much a what the fuck situation.

[00:04:21] Yeah, but yeah, I did want to talk about it and to that listener. I'm sorry and I took a few days to so we took like I don't know three weeks to record because I was sick.

[00:04:32] But we did we did want to yeah talk about it and I mean, hopefully you're still a listener. But it's okay if you're not I get it. It's it's fine. And yeah, I mean, you know, we're people we make mistakes.

[00:04:45] So, you know, feel free to message us or leave us comments stuff like that. Don't don't leave us comments on how we talk or yeah, but like if we're out of pocket like let us know I don't mind. Yeah, I did and I don't mind being educated.

[00:05:01] But yeah, exactly. Don't make fun of us for stuff. We cannot control. Yeah, yeah. Accent or or that I can't read that we can't read. We can't be honest like just literally my brain. I can't I can't help that. Yeah.

[00:05:13] Yeah, but other things like that and yeah, totally reach out and yeah, we will do better now. Are you ready for the listener story? Are you ready to hit play? Yes. Hello ladies.

[00:05:27] My name is Max and I found your podcast like a month ago while I was doing research for mine.

[00:05:35] I think it was the episode of La Mano Peluda and I've loved it ever since I've been hooked just see all know y'all do fantastic job and I'm fangirling over here leaving you guys a voicemail.

[00:05:46] I work for Amazon and I have like 10 hours to kill while I'm at work. So I binged all your episodes in like three weeks. I believe them once I finished binging all the episodes.

[00:05:57] I promised myself that I would leave you guys a voicemail because I know how excited Christina gets this is true. So the spooky tale that I have for you today.

[00:06:07] It was when I was in high school and my dad just started truck driving and we weren't used to him being gone like four days out of the week. So we really miss them a lot and in the house.

[00:06:17] We lived in my room was at the end of the hallway. He walked down the hallway and you hit my room. You open the door.

[00:06:22] That was my room and my family had a habit of leaving the hallway light on which I hate it because all the light will come in from under the door and keep me awake at night.

[00:06:33] I'm that kind of person needs to have all the lights turned off in order to be able to sleep. So I would just wait for my family to go to sleep and then I'd turn the light off and then I'd go to sleep myself.

[00:06:43] Well shortly after he started truck driving. I started hearing footsteps, but it was it sounded like the men were wearing like or not men.

[00:06:55] But whoever was walking up and down my hallway was wearing like fancy shoes or tap dancing shoes and I heard it going towards my door and then away from a door like if they were pacing the hallway just slowly.

[00:07:10] The creepy thing was that the closer the footsteps got to my door.

[00:07:16] I would see like a shadow come closer and closer from underneath the door and then it's like if they would turn around and walk away from my door and the shadow will get smaller and smaller like if somebody was actually walking towards my door and away from my door and just pacing my hallway and I would get creeped out.

[00:07:34] So I open I would open the door and there would be nobody there. I'd go back to my bed and a few minutes later it would start again up and down up and down and I told my mom about it and typical Mexican mom. Oh, it's not real.

[00:07:49] You're making things up in your head, you know, so eventually I would just try to go to sleep before everybody else. I wouldn't have to hear that fast for years later.

[00:07:59] We got on the topic my brothers and I about how that house was haunted and we heard stuff and I heard a lot of paranormal things in that house, which my mom would constantly tell me that I was just making things up in my head.

[00:08:14] And we got to that topic on those footsteps and my mom admitted to me that she too would hear things in the house, but she didn't want to scare me and that's why she never said or acknowledged that what I was hearing. She was hearing as well.

[00:08:28] She's a Christian woman. So she's like very skeptical of things like that, but she did tell me that she had a dream shortly after my dad started truck driving and like I said, she's a Christian woman.

[00:08:41] She prayed to God and we were in our house and there was these two men dressed real nicely with fancy suits and fancy shoes and you couldn't really see their face, but she was really scared of them and they were telling her to get back in the house.

[00:08:57] In our house, that house we had before and she got there and she kind of felt like a safety come over her like if they were angels protecting us since my dad was gone.

[00:09:09] And to her, that dream was a dream from God telling her that he had sent angels to protect us while he was gone.

[00:09:17] When she told me that, I was kind of like, well, that was around the time I would hear those footsteps and I like to think that the men that she saw in her dreams, I like to think that whether they were angels or protectors or whatever they were, I want to believe that they were the ones pacing up and down the hallway protecting us.

[00:09:39] Because like I said, it just sounded like somebody was just like not in a hurry, but just pacing the hallway, just up and down the hallway all night long. It was kind of creepy. It's chilling because I would open my door. There was nobody there.

[00:09:55] And then I'd close that in a few minutes later. I'd see that shadow come towards my room and back away from my room. But that is my spooky tale.

[00:10:04] It leaves a lot to interpretation to whatever you want to believe that if the two men from her dream were the men walking up and down the hallway or it could have been something else, whatever. But thank you guys for letting me submit this voicemail.

[00:10:19] And I love your podcast and y'all keep it up. I'm kind of sad that I finished binging all your episodes because now I don't really have anything much to listen to. And it was a lot of fun. You guys made my days go by faster.

[00:10:31] But thank you so much for all your content. And you guys did inspire me to create my own podcast. So y'all have a great day. Well, I wish they would have said the name of their podcast. We could have given them a shout out. Let us know.

[00:10:44] Yes, please let us know. That's interesting. Like some people think like like the shadows are either watchers or angels. So it's like she said, it's all open to interpretation. But I've also heard that like some people think that they're angels. The shadow people? Yeah, like the shadows.

[00:11:03] Yeah. And it's like interesting because whoever you ask, some people say they're demonic. Yeah. Or that or that demons themselves disguise as angels to like trick people. So, you know, I'm going to choose to believe they were angels because that sounds better. It does.

[00:11:26] And they didn't harm anybody. They just kind of freaked you out. So. Yeah, yeah, exactly. So, yeah, hopefully they're good. I think is what I will believe. Also, I forgot to say, but if you have a listener story, you can email us at spookytales.gmail.com

[00:11:42] Call our spooky hotline. That number is in the show notes because again, I don't know it. And you can also attach a voice note to your email and email to us and DM to our socials. That works too. There's a lot of options.

[00:11:59] Oh, you can submit it on Discord. That's another one. One of our lovely listeners, I think her Discord handles like Dinosaurus, but she all the time just submits new stories on Discord and I love it. So that's an option. And yeah.

[00:12:13] Yeah. Thank you so much for sending that in. OK, and yes, on to Satan. So it's funny that our listener story mentioned La Mano Peluda because I have a Mano Peluda story today and we've talked to them. Talked to them, I wish.

[00:12:40] No, we've talked about them a bunch of times now. But in case you're listening for the first time and you're starting like on this episode for some reason instead of the beginning, which is fine. I do that. Carmen does that too. No, wait, my bad. I do that.

[00:12:56] I do that. What am I saying? What is wrong with me? Carmen Carmen starts at the beginning and I called her weird for it.

[00:13:04] I can't like I can't do that because some podcasts, a lot of well, depending on what the topic is, but a lot of what they talk about is from like stuff that doesn't even matter anymore. And I'm like, whatever. I started because it's more recent.

[00:13:18] And then a lot of the podcasts, obviously, because, you know, you upgrade as you go. So you sound like trash in the beginning. Yeah. So, yeah. Anyway, how did I start talking about this? I don't know.

[00:13:28] Yes. If you're listening to this episode for the first time and you don't know what La Mano Peluda is, it's a Mexican radio show. People call in and tell their paranormal stories. And it was La Mano Pachona at one point.

[00:13:43] Then it became La Mano Peluda with host Juan Ramon Sanz. And then he died. And that's a whole thing which we also talked about on our episode covering El Caso de Josue. And what else? What else is still going on?

[00:13:56] There's new episodes under like Radio Formula, I think is what the thing is called. So it's iconic. It's iconic. So, yeah, we're talking about another case. This is El Caso Nash. So have you heard this one, MJ? No. Oh, OK.

[00:14:10] So a caller who went by Nash when he calls into the show, he calls in and he tells Juan Ramon Sanz that he needs help. There's beings inside of him. And then Juan Ramon obviously is like, what?

[00:14:24] What do you mean? Please explain, because that's a weird thing to hear. So then Nash goes on to say that he made a pact with Santa Muerte. He wanted to get back with his girlfriend.

[00:14:35] And instead of being normal or accepting that it was over, he made a deal with a demon. And I know that Santa Muerte is not a demon. I just wanted to say that specific sentence. So I like how it sounds like the word deal and then demon.

[00:14:51] It's like what is that? An alliteration? Is that what that's called? I don't know. You're asking the wrong person. I'm asking the wrong person, like with myself, too. Not just you. We're both the wrong people to ask.

[00:15:05] You know when something starts with the same letter, like two words. There's some... I think I'm right. Whatever. We're going to go with you because my brain is like, poop. Everything I learned the moment you start asking me questions, everything I know just

[00:15:23] like goes delete or it goes like, no, that's top secret knowledge. You can't give it away. Yeah. I'll know the answer to something. And it's like the dumbest thing. It will come to me later, though. Right?

[00:15:35] Like once I'm not on the spot, I'm like, oh, yeah, I'll text you and be like, hey, what's this? It's always the dumbest thing. Like someone I was talking with some company for like editing a podcast a while back and

[00:15:50] they were like, oh, so where do you live now? And my answer is California. And I haven't lived in California in like eight years or longer. Or people will ask how old I am and I would add a year or two and I'm like, what the fuck is

[00:16:04] wrong with me? And it's not that I'm lying. It's that I blurt out something and it's not true. And it's like, why did I... I forgot my age. That happens to me all the time. I forget my age.

[00:16:14] I'm like, I have to ask my family how old am I? Yeah, it's terrible. I panic. Like when you ask me, I panic and everything. Same. Same. We have these when I when I am at work, I got the health care clinic.

[00:16:31] We have codes to get in the door. Sometimes there's doctors that cover a new site that they haven't been there before. And I'm like already behind the desk, behind the door. And when a PA, he's like, oh, what's the code? And I'm like, I forgot.

[00:16:45] And then he was like, you're sitting back there. That means you got inside. And I'm like, I don't remember. You're asking too much pressure. I need to type it in. And if I type it in, I know it. But I'm like, I don't know.

[00:17:00] And I literally used it like 20, like 10 seconds before him. No, I feel like the same thing. Like once I'm put on the spot, everything goes. Like everything. Yeah. Don't ask me a question and like it has to be explained. Like let me...

[00:17:15] That's why I like texting, you know? I could take like 15 minutes. Same. Yeah. I can look it up. I can. Yeah. Yeah. But once I panic, it's game over. Yes. Same. I love this for us. Just kidding. I kind of hate it. But, um, but yes.

[00:17:33] So he made a deal with the demon. Not really. But like I said, I like how that sounds. And then this whole thing happened. Anyway, he told Juan Ramon Sáenz that he gave La Santa Muerte blood and then he got what he wanted. His girlfriend was back.

[00:17:51] But it was only brief because very soon after that, she passed away in some sort of tragic accident. Oh.

[00:17:58] And, you know, obviously, like I said earlier, La Santa Muerte is not a demon and she's also not like this evil thing that like they try to make her be. But they do say you have to be very careful when you're working with La Santa Muerte because like...

[00:18:11] Or I don't... She don't play around. Is it just Santa Muerte or is it La Santa Muerte? I should just say Santa Muerte, right? Both. OK. I don't want to sound dumb like I'm like saying the blah, blah, blah all this whole time.

[00:18:23] So, yeah, I've heard that if you're working with her, you have to be very careful because like you'll... If you are not like, I don't know, a devoted person that like practices with her, then or you're not careful.

[00:18:36] Like you get what you want, but there's always something like bad to it, you know, like him. He did get back with his girlfriend, but then she died. Like that kind of stuff. So that's what happened to Nash.

[00:18:50] Ever since he did this, since he did this blood offering, then things have been very different for him. He started feeling like there was something evil inside of him.

[00:19:01] And then when he says that, Cuauhtemoc asks Nash, is it something you felt yourself or are people telling you there's something evil inside you? Have other people noticed? And it's both. Nash says that he can feel it and sometimes he can see it too.

[00:19:16] So he said that his stomach moves. Oh, like the like the thing inside him is kicking around. You know what that reminds me of? Remember in the what's it called? The movie The Old Ways when that lizard gets pulled out or was it a lizard or snake?

[00:19:31] Either or. It was a snake. Like some reptile got pulled out of the stomach. Yes, it was a snake. Yeah, so his stomach is like moving and he can see it happening.

[00:19:45] And then when he says that, he starts he said when he says this in the phone call, he starts getting a little panicky and his voice almost are sounding like a growl. But he's still coherent during this part of the phone call.

[00:19:57] And then Cuauhtemoc tells him, like, we're going to help you. We're going to get help. And then he brings on that priestess usually on phone calls like this. We've heard him. I just don't know his name. We always forget. Or if it's a priest. Yeah. Yeah.

[00:20:10] We always forget his name. The priest starts telling Nash, you have to renounce this evil. You have to give yourself to God. Do this. Like open this passage of the Bible and read this or repeat after me.

[00:20:23] And when he starts doing this, then Nash is not like making sense anymore. And now his voice is completely different. It's so deep. Like none of what he's saying makes any sense at all. Juan Ramon asks the priest, like, is he speaking backwards?

[00:20:39] Because that's what it sounds like, that he's speaking backwards and like somehow backwards. And then the priest starts speaking louder. And he's like telling Nash, like, hey, you need to you need to tell this thing to leave. This is your body. This is your temple.

[00:20:54] Tell them that they're not allowed to be here. But Nash doesn't himself, like doesn't reply. It's whatever is possessing him at the moment. And there's like three different voices almost.

[00:21:06] And so then at some point, Juan Ramon signs is like, oh, my God, is there like three inside of him? Like three demons or something? And then the priest keeps like telling Nash or they're both telling Nash at this point, like you can beat this.

[00:21:21] You need to come back to us. Listen to us. And then this then Nash, Nash slash not Nash starts laughing, like laughs and laughs. And it's like a creepy laugh. It's gross.

[00:21:34] Then Juan Ramon signs tells the priest like this isn't working because Nash isn't his real name, because he gave them a fake name when he called in.

[00:21:43] And so when they're trying to repeatedly like tell him to come back to them, he can't because they're not calling his name. But they don't have his real name anyway. So they keep trying with the name Nash, but it's not working.

[00:21:55] And he's just yeah, he's just speaking in this weird, I don't know, not language. Then the priest like starts getting a little bit louder and he's like, leave the phone call. He's like, yeah, the demons, which always makes me laugh just when anyone says,

[00:22:11] But no, this one was scary. So he was like, why is he like, leave? Shut up. You're not allowed to be here. But this thing keeps laughing or talking and it's nonsense. Then the call just drops and we don't know what happened to Nash.

[00:22:29] And on another episode, Juan Ramon signs tells the audience like we tried getting a hold of Nash again. We called the phone number he called us with and there was no answer at all. We just kept getting the voice machine.

[00:22:43] And then finally, the brother answers and he tells Juan Ramon Sanz that Nash was institutionalized in a mental health facility. But then we know nothing. That is crazy. Yeah. And I'm actually going to send you this clip.

[00:23:00] Let me I forgot to have it ready to send because I was going to send you the part where his voice changes because and, you know, people say like, hola, mano peluda is like all like fake anyway.

[00:23:13] But it's still when you're hearing this for the first time, it's just it's creepy. Yeah. And even I mean, not even the first time just listening to it's like, oh, my God. Let's see. Nash. Oh, I forgot to say only because I just opened it in this part.

[00:23:29] But there is like, you know, when the priest was telling him like repeat after me or whatever. And he's like, I love Jesus or he's like starts repeating it. But then he's like, yo amo la sangre. I was like, oh, he's yeah.

[00:23:43] So he says like, I love blood instead of repeating what the priest is telling him to repeat. And I almost threw up. No, no. But it was like, oh, my God, that's terrifying.

[00:23:54] So let me send this link here and then you can just start playing it from here. And I'll include this clip into the. All right. Awesome.

[00:24:02] Oh, you know what? Sorry. Let me redo that and make a start at the right place so that you're not playing the whole thing. OK. OK, now I'm resending it and then play it from there. OK. All right. Awesome. Then. Oh, it's great.

[00:25:37] Come back. Shut up. Come back, Nash. Come back. Come back, Nash. Take a deep breath, Nash. Take a deep breath and come back. Nash. Nash. Come back. That's it. That's it. That's it, Nash. You can do it. You have the power. It's your will. It's your body.

[00:26:01] Oh, no. I'm going to cry. Nash has already made a prayer and renounced all the forces of evil. Nash has already declared that he accepts Jesus in his heart and soul. And Nash has declared that he is the property of the Holy Spirit.

[00:26:22] You can't be there anymore. You have to leave him. You shouldn't torment him. Your power is limited. It's tied up. You have to leave him. You have to hold on. You have to submit to the power of the Holy Spirit. I don't know if there's anyone with him.

[00:27:00] Yeah. If you've been around pigs and you start chasing them, they make this, like, a sound, like a desperate pig sound. I don't know. But that's what he was sounding like. And I was like, oh, that's disturbing. Yeah, it was horrifying. Very disturbing. Welcome to our haunted break.

[00:28:46] Okay, so I'm going to read actually my second story because the first story I kind of want to leave it for last because it's kind of like a perspective thing, like depending on your perspective. It is what it is.

[00:28:59] Okay, so this next story is from Relatos de la Noche on YouTube and it's narrated by Uriel Reyes. And I love his voice. Okay, so one listener wrote in she says in 2020 during the pandemic that she had a mental health decline.

[00:29:18] So I'm going to read it in the first person. In 2020, during the pandemic, I had a mental health decline. I was in a deep depression and lasted months, days without wanting to work, without wanting to live, without wanting to eat. I was diagnosed with clinical depression.

[00:29:34] With that came access to mental health, which thankfully resulted in me getting better. Each day, little by little, I was seeing the light at the end of the tunnel until one day on September 30th, I came home from work and started getting ready for bed.

[00:29:46] I went to my bedroom. I closed my door. Unable to sleep after a while, on my right hand side, I saw a scene appear before me. It was lit by a yellow light. Before me, I saw grass, plants, giant houses, cars, jewels, gold, and a throne.

[00:30:01] The scenery gave me a sense of power. At the same time, on my left hand side, in the penumbra, I felt a presence. I didn't turn to look, not because I was scared, but because the scenery in front of me took over.

[00:30:15] From the peripheral vision, I could make out some detail. It was humanoid, about 185 centimeters or 6 feet for us non-metric people. The skin was wet and had scales that looked to be grayish blue-green. It had horns and solid black eyes. I would have died.

[00:30:38] I'm supposed to be sleeping and this is the shit I see? Me cago y me muero. I then remembered of my favorite horror movies where if you had an entity's name, you held some kind of power over it.

[00:30:54] I asked it in my mind what its name was and it replied. It projected the spelling of its name in my mind. It gave me an understanding that everything I saw on my right hand side could be mine. I could live it.

[00:31:06] But something in my head kept telling me to go to sleep. To just sleep. And I did. The next morning, I didn't remember anything and went to work. I took my break and went to use the bathroom.

[00:31:16] While scrolling on social media, I came across a meme of a devil. And seeing it, the memory of the night before flooded back. I tried to remember the name but couldn't until it finally came back. I googled its name.

[00:31:28] It was a very uncommon name that I couldn't have made up. Upon googling, I realized it was a name that existed for a demon. He was the demon that recruited and gave power to humans in return for favors and at a great cost.

[00:31:42] He was one of the oldest and during October, he got more powerful that day. During October? Yeah, and that day was October 1st. So she's saying like the day she's working to remember everything is October 1st. Wow. And she had everything happen like September 30th.

[00:31:59] But from what I'm thinking is maybe it happened like at 12 o'clock on October 1st. Yeah, and then the next day she's like remembering it. Yes. During October, he gets more powerful.

[00:32:09] And I found information on him on YouTube and in the comments, other people were commenting about seeing him in their dreams. I texted my psychologist and he booked me an appointment that day. To my surprise, she didn't tell me my experience wasn't real.

[00:32:23] My psychologist went on to say that they believe when we are at our lowest points, we literally vibrate at a lower frequency. And this entity was feeding off of me.

[00:32:33] And when I was finally feeling better, he started losing his food and tried to bribe me with things, material things. That's how valuable I was to him during my depression.

[00:32:43] I will not share the name of this demon because this demon likes it when people know of his existence. If someone has a similar experience, let me know. Tell me his name and I'll tell you if that is his name.

[00:32:55] Damn, I was going to ask what was the name just to see. Yeah. I think it's better not to know. Yeah, I think it is because he would have been like, what's up? Yeah, one of us would have had the same dream. I would have fucking died.

[00:33:08] Oh my God, that's terrifying. I've heard stories of that, that people like do packs in their sleep and their dreams. And I'm like, yeah, no. Well, they say that if you like are having a dream and you're like about to die that...

[00:33:25] I've had dreams where I'm like falling off a cliff, but I always wake up before you hit the bottom. I've had dreams when I smack the bottom. Oh, I have never heard of that. And I also had a dream one time that we...

[00:33:40] I was in a car with my dad and we crashed and hit a mountain. And then I felt myself like... You know when a roller coaster or like when you're in a roller coaster and you get pulled... No, but you get pulled up really fast.

[00:33:55] Instead of dropping, you get pulled up really fast. That's what it felt like. And then I woke up and then I was like, man, I wonder if other universe me is okay. Like, did she die? Is she okay? Like blank, blank other universe me.

[00:34:10] The other you that is somewhere else died. Died, yeah. So that's what I always say whenever I have these dreams. I'm like, man, other universe me is having a rough time. She's over there like dying and crashing and shit. Yeah, and you're over here dreaming about it.

[00:34:28] Yeah, because I was going to say, Nisenke, if you like die for real in your dream that you're like... You died for real, but not you, not me. This happened to me a few times. I'm like, man, just my parallel universe is just...

[00:34:41] Me is just having a fucking rough time. Well, we're sorry other MJ. RIP you. Damn, that's so weird. Wow. But the sensation was weird because like I literally hit in that dream and I still remember vividly because I remember the sensation. That sounds terrible.

[00:35:01] We hit the side of a mountain. And then I felt the moment I hit the mountain, I felt like I was being pulled up. It was fucking weird. Oh my God, that sounds horrifying. So I always say that other universe me like just KO'd somewhere. Yeah, I agree.

[00:35:18] Splat on a side of a mountain. Oh, wow. Child. OK, I have another story. The lovely Dawn found this for us. This is the Devil's Cave. And you know me, I love Devil's Caves. And there's an infinite amount of them.

[00:35:37] So we'll never run out of Devil's Cave stories. So the Devil's Cave is said to be located in Itzapalapa, Mexico. The cave is one of approximately 200 caves that extend from Itzapalapa. This is a hard word for me. Itzapalapa. I need to stop. Itzapalapa.

[00:36:01] Oh my God, I'm saying this place wrong. I'm so sorry. Itzapalapa. Whatever. To Sierra de Guadalupe. OK. The region is known as the Cerro de la Estrella. It was once considered sacred land for the Mexica, who used the cave to worship the fire god.

[00:36:25] The gate to the underworld was also in the cave. Yeah, the entrance to what's it called? Actually, I don't know if where's Mixtlan. What's part of that? Is that Maya folklore? Is that Mexica folklore? Maya is Xibalba, I think. OK, so Mixtlan must be Mexica then.

[00:36:45] OK, yeah, I think I'm pretty sure I've heard that the entrance to both are through a cave. Yes, a lot of underworlds are. Even the Greek ones were through a cave. Actually, yeah, that's very true.

[00:36:57] There are several legends attached to this cave, but one of the most popular tells the story of an old man who was not who he appeared to be. He would stand in front of the cave waiting on his next victim.

[00:37:09] When the old man spotted a naive person, he would ask if they would accompany him inside the cave. I'm sorry, you have to be like a fucking weirdo to go inside a cave with someone that you don't know.

[00:37:21] Not to victim blame. I'm so sorry, but like, come on. Some self-preservation. Yeah. Some decorum people. If someone says hi to me and I don't know them, I'm questioning whether I should smile back or not.

[00:37:36] No, like no, I rarely smile back and I just look at them like deadpan and be like, why are you talking to me? Yeah. What is it?

[00:37:44] This past weekend I went fishing with my brother and his family and we had to hike up to the fishing spot and we passed by so many. And you know how like all white people when you're hiking, they always you can't pass by anyone without someone saying like.

[00:38:00] It's a beautiful day out here. Oh, it's so sunny. Watch out for the waterfall. It's it's muddy today. Like they always have to say something when you're passing by. Yeah, they're always saying hi. It's insane. Yeah, yeah. And I'm like walking and huffing like and they're like, hi.

[00:38:19] And I'm like, I can't breathe right now. You're like, must make no sound right now. Yes. Yeah. You just hold your breath for a few seconds. Like keep it walking people. I'm trying to die in peace.

[00:38:33] Yeah. And I'm like, sometimes I'm like, I don't even feel like talking to these people. But obviously they're like being friendly, whatever. But now imagine you're hiking and then there's like a man in front of a cave. I'm like, no, I'm not even looking in that direction.

[00:38:45] I'm not even like acknowledging this. I'm a blind hiker. OK. Yeah. Yeah. I'm like, please don't please don't say anything to me. I don't start talking about this. I'm so sorry for everyone who hates tangents. Whatever. Because like you went hiking and you would never.

[00:39:02] Oh, yeah. Because I went and say hi to this old man trying to lure me into his cave. So he asked someone if they would accompany him to the cave. And once inside the cave, then this old man's appearance changes.

[00:39:14] And whoever went inside with him, like sees that this is no longer an old man. It's now Satan as himself. The devil. Whoa. I went like zero to one hundred real quick. Yeah. Yeah. Just did the like reverse Uno. Like I'm not a nice old man.

[00:39:30] I'm actually evil. I'm not a nice old man. Oh, my God. Why would a nice old man be in front of a cave like that's always a devil. It's not. It's not an old man. It's a dead giveaway. Yeah. It's never old.

[00:39:43] Old nice men don't stand in front of caves and ask you to go inside. And then the cave like no longer looks like a cave. It looks like a paradise. And rather than being a cave, it's like a cave in the middle of the desert.

[00:39:58] And rather than fire and brimstone, people see a crystal clear pond. Birds are chirping and there's a large pot of gold. Eventually, people get either blinded by the money or they choose to leave everything they see in the cave and also leave the cave itself.

[00:40:13] And whoever leaves the cave is escorted by Satan himself. Why can't he stay in the cave? I'm sorry. I can wait. I can wait. I can wait. I can wait. I can wait. He can't stay in the cave. I'm sorry. I can walk myself out.

[00:40:30] I'll see myself out like no. But those who don't and choose to stay with the pot of gold sell their souls to the devil, but they remain trapped in the cave never to be seen again. Oh. But people have other theories that could explain what happened to the

[00:40:49] travelers that enter the cave and go missing. So the cave is complex. It's L-shaped and it confuses people who are exploring it. So people go missing whenever they enter the cave. Either way, locals report hearing strange noises coming from the cave and even see goblins

[00:41:06] dancing in front of it. Oh, ew. Yeah, don't like that. It's also believed that the cave is haunted because people travel to the cave to perform satanic rituals. Of course. Yeah. So people have apparently entered the cave and they see objects that are used for spells

[00:41:28] or like scattered around the cave. There's a YouTuber named Jose Flores Terror who explored the cave and he posted a video to his YouTube page and it was about a month ago. And he said that he witnessed similar things.

[00:41:42] He stumbled upon several lit candles inside of the cave, which had recently been lit. And I'm sorry, but can you picture just like someone's like, oh my God, someone's coming and they just like blow out the candles and like run? It's too much work. Yeah, right.

[00:42:00] He also finds what appears to be a goat surrounded by the candles. Oh, a goat's head surrounded by candles. And he asked if anyone was in a cave or if they wanted him to leave. He didn't receive a respond, but instead he had objects thrown at him.

[00:42:19] So then he decided to leave. That's a response. Yeah, that is a response. These are the people that blew out the candle and ran and then now they're like behind a rock throwing shit at him. Oh man.

[00:42:32] The caves are close to the public and it's advised to not go inside of them, not explore them because they're prone to landslides. And that sounds like a good idea. Also because you might find the devil there. Yeah. But yeah, that is the Devil's Cave. Okay.

[00:42:48] We have one last story and this is from the podcast Extra Anormal episode 114 for reference for our Spanish listeners, but for our Spanish challenge friends, I will get into the story. So Dr. Carla is Paco's guest on this episode and she has amazing stories about scary encounters

[00:43:11] at her work. So so much more than this like encounter a whole lot more. So she was doing a residency in like an intensive care and she cared for patients that were obviously very sick, renal failure, people who had to do inpatient cancer treatments, you know, etc.

[00:43:28] Like stuff like that. And the way it works in Mexico, I'm not sure if it's the same way it works here. Like I don't know med students let me know. In Mexico, if you're graduating to become a doctor, they send you where you are needed

[00:43:40] to do your to get your residency. So like sometimes I heard stories that people get sent into like the middle of nowhere towns where they have like this little clinic and stuff and that's where you have to go. So they send you where you are needed.

[00:43:54] I don't know if that's the same thing here where it's like, hey, well, there's an opening on the other side. I don't know. I think it's like super competitive here and you just have to go where you can like residencies I hear are very competitive. Yeah.

[00:44:07] So I heard some, you know, I've heard stories of doctors getting sent to really small town clinics to help people in Ranchitos. So she gets assigned to this one particular hospital and it's a smallish hospital with several sections to it.

[00:44:21] You have pediatrics, contagious diseases section and all the subdivisions of a hospital and she's working insane hours as doctors do. And this particular night a patient comes in and he seems relatively fine. But the family is saying he's having these contortions and they admit him to the hospital

[00:44:39] and he starts arching like his back in a very unnatural way. So he's like the way that it was described, it was he was like bending backwards where his head would touch his feet almost. Wow.

[00:44:53] So yeah, they do all kinds of tests to see if he has an infection in the brain and negative nothing epilepsy, nothing autoimmune disease, nothing tetanus, nothing. And you know, all the tests that they do comes back negative. On paper, he's healthy.

[00:45:11] And one of the days Dr. Carla is out in night shift, this patient is there and she describes it as being anywhere from 12 to 3 o'clock in the morning. And this patient starts howling and she was scared out of her mind.

[00:45:27] She says that the sound of this man made was animalistic. It didn't sound like a man. It sounded horrifying. And she starts praying on her night shifts with this patient. And in a few days, all his symptoms disappeared and he gets discharged like nothing ever happened.

[00:45:43] Oh, nothing, you know, medically was wrong with him. They did all kinds of tests. They also describe him as having a Rhesus Sarsonica. Oh, Erectus Grin. Oh yeah, Erectus Grin. So that like when the muscles of the face contract and you get like patients with certain afflictions

[00:46:01] get like this smile that's not a smile. It's just their facial muscles contracting involuntarily. Oh, so he had that on top of him like randomly contorting his body and spine in ways that he should not be able to.

[00:46:18] Okay, so they didn't you know, they didn't come up with anything. Many tests were done from the neurological to infectious diseases and all came back negative. And Dr. Carla thinks this man was possessed. However, she does say it may not be possession, but Nahualismo gone bad.

[00:46:35] In Mexico, people believe both, but the symptoms this man showed could be either or so I ask a spooky listeners. Was it Satanas or was it Nahual transformation gone bad? And the reason why I wanted to bring this up is because like, like depending on your

[00:46:51] perspective of this case, it's either or like on you know, yeah, what you think it is. And that also made me think for like the next time I read stories from these areas that it might just be Nahualismo and not Satanas.

[00:47:10] Yeah, either one but to some people that's like demonic itself too. That's true. That is true. I don't know. I don't know. I would have been grossed out like even as a doctor. I'm like, you shouldn't be bending that way. That's not natural. Yeah. Yeah.

[00:47:27] I would have quit that day. I would have gone home. I don't know like the howling to like, no. And then the poor other patients they're having to deal with this. Like the doctors get paid. The right thing and that's what they have to deal with for people.

[00:47:46] But yeah, that's my story. Wow. Wow. Wow. These are some good satanic stories that we brought for our not satanic September. It's October now. Episode. Yeah. Do you have any spooky recommendations? I'm still working on the book, guys. A little bit slow.

[00:48:11] I got myself the physical book because I was like this time I'm gonna try the book and then I was not reading and then I got the audio book and now I'm on chapter five. Oh, nice. So yeah, I guess I just can't read.

[00:48:24] For spooky recommendations, I got the book An Indigenous Dark Fiction Anthology Never Whistle at Night. Oh, that sounds cool. So yeah, I saw it on Instagram and I was like, I have to get this. Nice. Yeah. Let me know how it is. I gotta. It sounds cool.

[00:48:46] The lovely Dawn here added a spooky recommendation into the story of La Cueva del Diablo. So it's a 2012 horror film about a man trying to find his friends that went missing after they went inside La Cueva del Diablo. And it's apparently like a found footage type movie.

[00:49:04] And I don't know that a lot of movies that are like made in Spanish are hard to find. The trailer is on YouTube, but after that, I don't know where it's streaming. Let me look here. Let's see. Cine Latino.

[00:49:17] So yeah, I'll try to see where that is streaming. My spooky recommendation. I still have to get it. But did you see Jordan Peele has a book out? No. What? Yes. Yes. Here, let me bring up the Jordan Peele book.

[00:49:42] So Out There Screaming is the name of it. Oh, my bad. Let me rephrase. I need to say that it's not written by him. It's edited by him. Oh, yeah. Edited by Jordan Peele and John Joseph Adams. And there's contributions by N.K. Jemisin. I love her.

[00:50:03] Tana Niv-Reeve Du, also excellent author. I almost couldn't say the word author. And it's an anthology. Oh, today with the anthologies. OK. Yeah. Yeah. So I definitely want to check that out because I love an anthology and I love those authors and I love Jordan Peele also.

[00:50:24] So yeah, this is going to be I mean, I don't think it'll disappoint at all. So I feel safe recommending it. Oh, the cover. I have seen this Never Whistle at Night. I just saw the picture you sent me. Oh, you said on the chat.

[00:50:39] I have seen this. Wow. I love that cover. It's so pretty. So colorful. Yeah. Which is not what you often see in spooky books. I was like, that's nice. That's cute. Yeah. I don't know. Silvia Moreno Garcia, her covers. She brings it every time. They're always fire.

[00:50:59] Every time. Yeah. Always. Amazing. Like I'm like, girl, you need to sell these as posters or like. Cards that I can frame. Seriously, I agree. My children are out there fighting. So this is a good time to end the episode. All right. Awesome.

[00:51:17] And I don't know if you're out on a hike, especially somewhere in Latin America and there's an old man standing in front of a cave and he's like, hey, come inside my cave. Don't just don't. Yeah. Just keep walking. Not a good idea. Yeah.

[00:51:31] Because he's probably the devil. Devil's busy. He's out there traveling from cave to cave waiting to lure you in. And yes, stay spooky. We'll catch everyone next time. Bye. Bye. Spooky Tales is hosted by Christina and MJ, produced and edited by Christina.
