Hi everyone. This is Christina and this is MJ. And this is another episode of a Spooky Tells, the podcast for All Things as Spooky. We can't read, and we will laugh sometimes, and you will hear my children in the background sometimes, yes, and you might hear the humming of my ac in the background here here, it's pretty loud. Usually you can hear sometimes in the episode. Okay, I apologize. It's hot. It's one hundred and nine guy, you need it, so, yeah, normalize ac sounds because we are dying the summer melting, melting. Am I the wicked Witch of the West. No, it's just hot. It's very hot. It's excessively hot. It's disgusting. Check on your fam in Mexico, by the and I don't know if it's yeah, it's just Mexico. But there's a heat wave. It's terrible. Yeah, Like cars are like blowing up and stuff from the heat wave. And it was causing so many fires. My grandma had a heat stroke. It was terrible. Oh no, she's okay. Yeah, she's okay. But they're not used to this level of heat. Yeah. Sent a message that she just didn't feel good and she was so tired. Her body was aching. Everyone's like drink water, please, Yeah, like drink water. And then the one thing I'll tell you if you have family in Mexico or any place that's that's not used to a heat wave, because here we have a C like California except for the Bay Area, and that's screwed him over a few years ago. But where I live, I have you know, everything, every single building has AC. But if you don't have a C, wet a towel, drape it over yourself. It'll keep your cool throughout the day. You could also wet a blanket and put it over and you know, like ring it out so it'll be damp, and then put it over your windows, close your blinds and put this and put that. And you could also, I think, like wet it the outside of your house to keep it cool. Oh okay, so do you know those are little things you could do if you don't have ANYC. I also know that people do swamp coolers. Is that what it's called? Yes, it is. I was about to mention those. Yeah, it's it's sort of like putting. I don't know how they work. Do they put something like wet over the fan or something? I think they put a fan like they put an ice chest or something and then the fan gets flown through ice. I'm not entirely sure because I don't know how that works, and I have me neither central AC. I've been very lucky to have AC all my life and same my mom used to be very sindue with it growing up and in Medesto, SA we would just go to the mall all day and come back at night to the house and then turn it off. Yeah yeah, and also take naps during the day and do whatever you need to do at night, like if you like make if you're exhaust, but if you're you're off, sleep throughout the entire day and then like one the sunset, you know, do whatever chores you have to do. It's the best thing, especially if you don't have AC. And stay safe. You guys, heat strokes no like jokes, no, and if you had, if you've had one, you're prone to more. Yeah. We went to to school with the girl who I had PE and she had heat stroke damn. Yeah. I mean I was a medic in the army and that was like one of the things we saw the most, especially when we had to be out all day don't know the symptoms. I don't even know the symptoms honestly, but I think one of them is like you stopped sweating or something. I'm not sure. Yes, stay safe out there. Yes, we don't want you guys to get sick. Yes, And today we are talking about Ego, the Liberal Rojo, the Red Book Game. Have you heard of this before? No? I haven't. So when you were like, you gave me some research that, y'a was like, what where have I been? Yeah? I had not heard of it either. It reminds me. It reminded me of what about the Pencil game? Did you hear about that one? Yes? Okay, yeah, yeah I heard about that one. It started in Mexico to checks out. Yeah, I guess. Before we talk about the Red Book though, we do have a listener story. If you have a story that you want to send into the podcast, you can email at spookytos at gmail dot com. If you're a Patreon member, then you can message it through there because it's an easy way for me to see it. You can submit it on Discord. You can also just DM it on socials. Any of that works. So this listener wanted to stay anonymous. This is a continuation of the one with the well that they saw something pop out of the well, like a couple episodes ago, the episode we did with v where her family her dad grew up in Parian. So hard, but yeah, all right, let's do this. My dad and his Siblians moved to the States, specifically California. My great grandfather owned the apartment complex that the entire family lived in. I lived there until kindergarten, and the rest of my family lived there until my great grandpa passed away in two thousand and four. There was one apartment where my cousin lived and she would sleep walk. Often. She would walk down the street by herself, buy something from the corner store, and go back to bed whole while asleep. That's that's wild. Wow. When she moved out, another cousin moved in there, and he also started to sleepwalk in the middle of the night. It got to be so often that his mom had to put a bell at the front door to be able to hear if he left the apartment at night. Another cousin that lived in a different apartment would be attacked in her room by the ghost of a little girl. Oh my god. She would come out from the attic cross space above her room. That's terrifying. The entrance to the space was a small square in her closet ceiling. She said the little girl would choke her in her sleep. My cousin would scream and wake everyone up in the apartment. It happened multiple times. Each time her parents would take her to my house to get away from the apartments for the day. The very last time she was attacked by this little girl, my cousin ended up in the hospital after suffering from a panic attack. Those are terrifying, especially when you don't know what they are the first time you have one. Yes, m I thought I was going to die. Like I was having a heart attack. Yeah. I started shaking too when I have a panic attack, and like I get really cold. Yeah, like my fingers go all numb and my face. I was like, what's happening to me? Okay, back to the story. The strange thing is that my cousin suddenly stops seeing the little girl after she was hospitalized. We did some research in the area but could not find anything about a little girl. The only deaths that were closely related to the area was a creek that was directly behind the apartment complex that was very popular for suicide's okay, there is a bridge that did not have very tall barriers and a lot of people died by suicide by jumping into the dry creek. I remember seeing blood at the bottom of the creek several times as a kid when I would go visit the family. I had been moved out of there for several years, and we would always go to the apartments to visit my grandparents every Sunday. One day, my cousins and I were sitting in the living room and the adults were outside. Suddenly, the floor lamp that was in the living room lifted off from the ground about a foot high and fell over, as if someone had picked it up and then threw it with force. We all rushed outside to tell the adults what happened, and they all said it probably just fell and played it off, but we literally saw it levitating for a good three seconds before it bell After my greatgrandpa died and my family sold the complex and moved to a different town, none of us have been back ever since it was sold. Two months ago, I drove past the complex for the first time in about twenty years, and it was painted a very dark color. It gave me chills just looking at it. When I moved out of the complex and into my current home, we didn't have any issues in that house until we came back from a trip to Mexico and we brought back two handmade wooden masks. One of them was plain wood and looked happy. The other was terrifying. It was black with muted red and green details and had a frown on its face. This one scared me. I remember I was in elementary school and waiting at the kitchen table for my dad to take me to school. It was quiet and I was by myself. Suddenly, out of nowhere, I heard something jump in front of the door that leads to the kitchen from the hallway. It was quick, Oh what that message just cut off and there was nothing else. Okay, please send us the rest of that when you get a chance. I would love to hear m. I wonder what was going on in that apartment complex. Whatever was just it needed to stop, because yeah, it was just that. It was like I'm gonna get you and you and you. Everyone gets a paranormal experience like Oprah, but like a ghost, and instead of getting lucky with like money or cars, you get, you get a terrifying paranormal experience and a panic attack. Yes, that will traumatize you. So no, thanks, I don't like it, and I like how like every time it was always the adults were like, your your childish imagination and then like, you're one thousand percent sure that, like what you're experiencing is real? Yeah, and you know what now you know? Before I would be like how why would they not believe them? But now as an adult, if, like I have said many times, if my child comes to me with something like that, I'm going to be like, I don't hear anything. You're fine, both of us, you know. Yeah, we've referred to this comic so many times. But the one where the kid goes and he's like, there's a monster at the time at the window, and they're like, and you think I want to be scared? Do you think I want to see that monster? And he goes back to his room and the monster's like, I'm sorry, your parents are shit or jerks or something that would be me. So yeah, I don't. I do not blame any parent in any story when they're like, no, you just imagined it, because I do the same thing, I guess though honestly, if I heard it enough, I would I would look to see what we could do to help, you know. But but the first like ten times though, Mom's about to Mom's about to have a breakdown with you. Okay, yeah, yeah, I would be screaming. It's like like you're supposed can you see a spider or like like a mouse passing by where it's not supposed to be. You're supposed to be the one hold it together. I'm like screaming, and I'm scaring the kids because I'm screaming, and they probably would have been fine just looking at the spider, and I'm like, oh my god. Ah and then like it happened. Still times, yeah, Kyle, my husband will come up running and he's like, oh my god, what happened? And it's just because I saw something. He's like, I thought something happened to you, something happened to me. Yeah, He's like, I thought, what more serious happened? I'm like, just what serious? So yeah, I get it, I get it, but I'm gonna try and validate instead of denying and screaming. Yeah, I would scream and validate anyway. Yeah, today we're gonna be talking about Rojo or the Red Book. But MJ, you have how the rules of this game for us, right, because I'm sure a lot of us don't know. Yeah, I didn't know about it either, and I got the thing from the link el Portal del dott and I translated it because it was in Spanish. It is said that there are seven games prohibited by the church. One of them happens to be the Red Book. It may seem like a joke. There will be those who laugh at the subject, but the truth is that this game is actually very dark, and if you don't play it with all due respect, you could get into serious problems. Many describe it as the game of the living and the dead. How dangerous could a simple book be? A book that anyone can have at home? But the dangerous thing is not the book, but the game itself. The rules are simple, but first it is necessary to say that it is recommended to play uncompanied at least one or two more people, and if you're too susceptible, you better not try. Rules of the Red Book game Rule one, an old, red hardcover book is needed. The less information there is on the cover, the better. Rule two. You need at least one candle of the same color as well. Rule three. Put the Red Book on the table and only by candle light. No light should be on. Rule four. One of the players must put his left hand on the closed book. Then he must pronounce Red Book and then ask a question. It is important to have your eyes closed so that it works correctly. Rule five. With his left hand and his eyes still closed, the player must run his fingers between the pages randomly until he stops at one of the pages. Then he will leave his fingers somewhere on the sheet. On the page, open your eyes and read from where your finger is to the first point or to the first you know, like end of the sentence, which is a period that appears. That will be your answer. Sometimes the answers may not make any sense, but that is because perhaps the question was poorly formulated, or because there is no spirit present in the book. If the answer is coherent, it is because the game has begun. Rule six, last rule and most important rule, Say goodbye to the spirit before you finish playing respectfully, ask him to leave and read book warnings. Although it seems like a simple and innocent teen game, playing the Red Book is very similar to the Luigi perhaps in both questions things in spirits, the advice of specialist in the subject is to never play the Red Book, and if you do, be prudent when playing, because we must not forget that the Book is not what answers your questions, but some entity that waits impatiently to be invoked. And when an entity is invoked, a portal opens. That is why the last rule is so important. So those are the rules. That is, I've never heard of this. It sounds very simple and to our listeners warning, would you try it? No, me neither. Well maybe I don't know. Not in my house, someone else's house. I'd try it, and if someone else was leading it, I'd sit during the game. I just wouldn't be the person I just want to be. Yeah, I just want to be like a like an observer, you know, like you could like, you know, have somebody playing it, but I'll be through the through the watching through like a two way mirror. Yeah, just in case, surrounded by salt through. Yeah. I'd be fine with being in the group, but I wouldn't want to be leading the guiding the thing to find the answers. Yeah, same thing with like a waji board. I've never tried it, but I would sit in when I just wouldn't want to be the person holding it or I wouldn't want to. I would I would watch people playing it in the same room, but I wouldn't be like right there asking questions at all or touching it. Yeah, no, not me. I'm just an observer. Yeah, same, because you know what, I'm a weenie, like I've said, Yeah, I belong in Winnie Junior with SpongeBob and Patrick. It's just like some like depending on the day I do believe and you know I don't. So you know, depending on the day you asked me, my answer switches. But even on the days that I don't, I'm not trying it, like you know what I mean, Yeah, I risk it. Yeah, just in case. Welcome to our little Hunted break. So thank you for doing that. So my first story is from our favorite of spooky tales, Lauda and as if you're a long time listener, you know we've talked about La Manoa many times, not just the actual legend, but like the radio show. That's what I'm talking about right now. It was hosted by Quadramon Science after someone else. I forgot the other guy's name, Tuben Castillo. I don't remember. I don't remember. That could be completely wrong, and I'm just made that up, like out of my ass. Literally, it was someone else before Juandramon Science for like a year. That's when it was La, and then it became LA and he did it for a very long time, and now it's still going with different hosts. I think it's like a man and a woman. I haven't listened to any new episodes, though, I don't know what it sounds like now, Probably still good. I should check it out. I didn't even know they had a new one. I'm pretty sure I've seen a new one, and did I imagine it happy my brain. It cannot be trusted, but I think there's a new one. I think it is still going. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it is. It's it's it's like a well known company that's like doing it okay, so yes, So unfortunately, was like all the replays of old episodes. Sometimes I just don't know when the calls happened or who's calling. Sometimes they started and the person doesn't even say their name. So this phone call, I don't know who's calling. It's the video that I found it on is four years old. I don't know when the call took place though. But a man calls Quandramne sins, and he tells him he lives near the forest near a creek or lake in Talpa, and I think it's Talpa Halisco. It could be wrong if there's another Talpa that I just don't know where that is. So he says he has a friend that lives near this body of water, and she tells has told him, like tells him repeatedly that she has heard like Erona. And it's like a thing people say in her neighborhood where she lives, that La Orona is heard there. And so he's like, nobody, none of their friend group, like they didn't believe her. So they one day they were like, let's all go and try and hear La Rona. So they go, they go. They're just it's nighttime. They're hanging out her house and they start drinking a little bit, not a lot, and they decided to start playing a game called a Liberal Rojo and the Red Book, And so they're sitting in a group. One of them is in front of the book to guide the answers. The rest of them are holding hands around the book and they're asking questions. And so the first questions that they're asking, they're not really getting answers. They're incoherent. But as they go on and play to play, or as they continue the game, some of the answers make sense. Still, they're a little like off. Then suddenly the lights went out and they all got scared. But then they decided it was because of the rain, because they had been raining heavily, and you know, the power just sometimes goes out. But then the friend that says, oh, I hear La Yona all the time here, she was like, no, it's not because of the rain. This is always how it starts. The light goes off, and then we all hear Laurona. But then the light came back on and they were like, whatever, she's full of shit. But then they didn't see her anywhere. They were like, where'd she go? They thought she was playing a joke on them, So they walk around the house looking for her. She's nowhere to be seen. They check out the rooms like nothing, so they're like, what is happening? They thought maybe she was playing a joke on them. One of the friends in the group said they should go outside to look for her, and the rest of them were too scared. But then eventually they agree to go outside and look for her. They stopped being wheenies, oh my god, because they can't find her. So they go outside and this friend she happens to be like the closest house to this blake, and so there's like a big rock first, and then the lake, and this area by the big rock is where La Rona's usually heard. So they started walking toward that rock and the lake. Because they're looking around, they don't see her anywhere. They're like, maybe she went that way. I don't know why, but whatever, So they start going that way. They're all together. I imagine they're holding hands together. I would be yeah, So they're all they're all together, they don't want to split up, and they're walking towards that and so maybe five minutes passed, and suddenly within those five minutes there was a drastic temperature drop, not normal for the time of night either, like that. The temperature should have been steady by the time they got out there, you know, it shouldn't be that cold. Suddenly it was. It was too cold all of a sudden. They were even more scared. So then they all started yelling talking at the same time. I imagine they're all like, no, Ma, myths a laberga, just screaming and scared. And so once they're all done arguing about whether they should stay there being scared whatever, and they're all quiet, they heard a scream in their distance, the scream of a woman, and they're like, fuck this, it's like urona. They heard dogs barking right almost like with the scream. Dogs were barking, And then there was like a movement in the water, like if someone you know, the sound of like walking in water, like if someone was getting out of a leak. I hate it, I hate im. I'm scaring myself. Anyway, so they started getting out, they started hearing that sound, and they were like fuck this. They ran back to the house and as fast as they could, and they forgot they were looking for their food. As soon as they got yeah, right as soon as they got back inside the house, the light came back on and they're like, okay, that's weird. And then they heard sound from one of the rooms, so they're all scared in One of the friends in the group agreed to go look in the room, and there she was sleeping. But it didn't make any sense because before going outside, they searched the house. They searched every room and she wasn't in there. Before they left, they tried to wake her up to be like what the fuck, Like you just scared the shit out of us, Like are you are you trying to pull a bass one on us? Are you trying to pull a prank? Like this isn't funny. She wouldn't wake up. For whatever reason, she didn't wake up, and then like morning time came and she's like, I swear that I wasn't trying to prank you guys. I don't remember anything. I don't remember going outside. All she remembers is laying down because she was very tired after the blights went out. That's all she remembers. To this day. None of them understand what the fuck happened. Whoever. The guy that was calling, he's like, I don't know if it was the game, the Red Book game. It was like yourna, I don't know why she disappeared and then suddenly appeared in her room. What the hell those screams were? But they never played the game again, and they never is it their friend again. They're like, you have to come to us. Now, we're not going to your house anymore. Yeah, And now I was like, that's terrifying. That is so scary. I know I was. I got a little scared. I'm like, my dog lived a little bit, and I was like, oh my god, what was that? Okay, my second story I found on Reddit. Suddenly I forgot to see what subreddit I got it from, and I didn't save the link. That's wrong with me. But it was submitted by a user lovely killer Bunny four years ago. This story is a true event that happened. Then they put this in like all capital letters do not play the game read Book. Okay, So we were all in eighth grade and we were all obsessed with abandoned places, traveling ghosts, etc. That's natural, yes, And since we knew that we were all departing to different high schools. We wanted to have one last fun time together as a friend group while we still could. My friend group consisted of six people, including myself. For the sake of their privacy, I will not use their real names. My closest friend at the time was Mike. He lived in the house where all of this took place. He was very funny and cool, but his parents were extremely religious, so I'm still surprised he was down to let us play these games at his house. Then there was Jenna, who I have known since elementary and she had a weird love connection with Mike. Strange detail, but okay. Joey and Caroline were cool too. Joey was best friends with Mike since they were kids. Caroline was very loud and outgoing, and she claimed that she could feel spirits. I still think it's a bunch of bullshit. Lastly, it was Alan and I. He had this disturbing, obsessive crush on me. What the fuck? Okay, So, of course during the whole sleepover, I was a little uncomfortable. Why is he in your friend groups? My question? Anyways, we had been planning the sleepover for a couple of weeks and it finally started to approach us. We planned to play childish games like Bloody Mary Baby Blue. Side note, what is baby Blue? I don't know. I've never heard of that one either, and maybe we're too old. I gotta look that one up. If any of our listeners know what that is, let us know. During this whole sleepover and the planet of it, we all promised one thing, do not mess with the ghosts if we do encounter them. The day finally came and we all showed up to school with our regular backpacks and a bag with Pj's toothbrushes and so on. The school there was exciting thinking about all the fun stuff we were going to do after school. At the end of the day, we walked to Mike's house. He lived pretty close to school. It was about a seven minute walk. All of my friends were loud and funny, which was nice considering I was sort of quiet. This made the walk pretty fun. We made it to Mike's place and we set all our stuff down. Mike's family had a good amount of money, so he had a really nice house. The weirdest details all right. We spent the first few hours messing around. They went swimming, for a little I couldn't because I was on that time of the month. We walked to seven eleven to get slushies and candy. We went to a little playground in the middle of his neighborhood, took a couple pictures for the social media. So far, the day was going completely as planned and it was one of the best days of my life. We got back to us house and suddenly it was pretty dark, so we played hide and Seek for a while. It was around nine it was finally time to start playing the games. We started off with the game Concentrate, which is a game where you close your eyes and the person behind you states a ritual about several ways you could die. What the hell, I've never heard of this? All right. At the end, you're supposedly on an edge of a building in your mind, and the person behind you pretends to push you. Whatever color flushes in your mind while you're being pushed corresponds with how you die. Most of us colors like blue, white, or green, which means drowning, passing away and going to heaven, and falling off a building. Wow, okay, why would you do that. It wasn't until we got to Alan that we all started to get a little creeped out. It was his turn. We all sat on Mike's bed while Joey stood behind. Alan entered the ritual. When Alan was pushed off the building in his mind, he was silent. We asked what color he got and he said the color black. Oh. I had to copy and paste all of the games and rules we were going to play into my notes on my phone. I turned on my phone and went straight to notes, scrolling to see what the color black means black. They will dive old age and go to hell. Oh wow, Okay, Sorry Alan, No, sorry, Joey, Who was it Alan? Sorry? Allen. Most of us aren't religious. So we brushed it off and tried it again, and he kept getting the color black. Clearly being disturbed by this, Caroline suggested to play another game. We all agreed. We moved on to a game called Red Book. You play Red Book by getting into a circle around the red book that you have. Everyone playing puts their hand on the cover of the book when it's their turn, closing their eyes and asking red Book, can I enter your game. You keep your eyes closed and flip through the book, randomly, stopping at any stop in the book that you want, and you point your finger anywhere on the page. When you open your eyes and see where your finger landed, that is the answer to your question. If you got a positive answer something related to accepting you in the book, then you can start playing. If it says no or something random, you move on to the next person and wait until it's your turn to ask again. I decided not to play because I had a gut feeling and I had to read the rules if anyone had questions. It took a while to get everyone into the game, but once everyone got accepted by the book, I remindered everyone that we will not disturb the ghosts if we do encounter them, to which they all agreed. Caroline also decided not to play because she was afraid, so she stayed on her phone while blasting Lady Gaga in her earphone. The game started and it was boring. Every question we had ended with an unrelated answer, and we all started to give up hope until the answers started to become weirdly coincidental. How old are you? He was thirteen years young. We all looked at each other, Some were freaked out, some were excited that we were finally getting somewhere. The game continued and the answers were very accurate. Is anyone else with you? They are frightening. I asked Jenna where she got to Spook, and she says she just found it on a bookshelf in her house. It didn't even have a title. It was Alan's turn. How did you die? We all started yelling at him to stop, since we agreed we wouldn't ask this question, but he wouldn't stop. He kept flipping through the pages and he was silent. He wasn't moving other than his fingers flipping through the pages. We kept yelling, but he still kept going, almost like he was paralyzed. What scared us was when he got to the end of the book. He started flipping backwards and he wouldn't stop. Finally, he dragged his fingers up and down the page, stopping towards the middle. We kept yelling at him, asking why he would do that, but he still didn't say anything. Joey grabbed a book to where his fingers stopped. It read we shouldn't speak of this. We all looked up at Allan and he was shaking. Jenna asked him, asked him, what's wrong? But he just kept shaking. Suddenly he started crying. He put his face in his hands, and he fell into Mike's arms. Alan has had panic attacks before, so we thought it was another panic attack. By the time Mike calmed him down, we asked what happened. Alan said he doesn't remember anything. He blacked out. Everyone agreed we should end the game, but Alan said no. We tried convincing him to leave the game, but he kept saying no. So they continued, which I thought was so fucking dumb, but it was majority rule, and I knew that none of them were going to listen to me. The more they asked questions, the creepier it got. Where are you The door handle was cold. We all looked up at the bedroom door. It was locked. Everyone was scared, so we all agreed to end the game. But suddenly Alan talked, for the first time since his last turn, I have one more question. We all looked at him like he was crazy. We kept telling him no, but when I got back to him, we were expecting him to ask the book if he could leave, what do you want with me? He closed his eyes and flipped through the pages. He stopped at the end of the book on a blank page. He started scratching at his legs and he threw the book. The room was dead, silent. He looked like he couldn't breathe. His veins started popping out of his neck and he started breathing hard. Alan, are you okay? Joey was the first one to talk to him. For what seemed like hours, Alan looked up at us finally, and he looked very mad. He lunged at Joey and he just started scratching his bag while breathing heavily. Jenna jumped onto the bed with Caroline and I I'm not gonna lie. I was crying because of how much was going on. Mike yanked Alan off Joy and he pulled him back against the wall. Joy was able to stand up and stand on the other side of the room. It took a while for Allan to calm down, but when he did, Joey looked like he was attacked by a wild animal. There were scratches all over his back and sides, some so deep that his blood stained the rim of his shorts. Mike calmed Alan down again, and none of us spoke for about twenty minutes. We just stared at the book and at Alan. Joey spoke first. Okay, everyone calmed down. Allan was probably just messing around, right Allan. By Alan didn't speak, we all knew that he would never do this. He was one of the nicest people I had ever met, and he wouldn't even hurt a fly. We spent the rest of the night calming down and making jokes, trying to forget what just happened. But none of us could ever forget about this. Words can't even describe every detail how inhuman Alan looked. Everyone agreed not to play any other games and just watch movies and go to bed. Even then, no one fell asleep until three or four in the morning. That morning, Mike's mom found out at her being the quirky, hippie religious I feel like those don't go together, but okay, that she is. She had this group hug and she suggested we burned the book. I was a little hesitant because joe and Alan hadn't left the game yet. I was about to ask that, but everyone else agreed, so we went outside and gathered around the book. We don't tell anyone about this, okay, Mike said. We all agreed, but I told my dad anyway, because I'm really close to him and I was already planted on telling them. She said, bitch, you're not. I'm telling whoever I want. I'm pretty sure we all told our parents. We let Allan do the honors of burning the book. After that, we just went on with our day. We watched movies and eight Cereal. No one talked about it. Everyone got picked up one by one, and when I got picked up, we took Caroline home because she lived a block away from me. I told my dad and he suggested that he could have been faking it. I agreed, and we stopped talking about it. It's been almost two years now, and I go to a completely different high school. They all go to the city's most well known high school. These aren't necessarily Oh now it makes sense that I was written by a high schooler. Yes, I talked to Mike maybe once or twice. I've talked to Jenna once. Other than that, I don't talk to any of the others. We haven't brought up the experience at all. I still have videos of us messing around on Snapchat and you can see the aftermath on Joey's back. Alan asked me if I wanted to go out sometime after the sleepover, but I said fuck no, No, she didn't write that. I added that, but she said no. I have an amazing boyfriend now and I haven't had a paranormal experience since. I still wonder if Alan was actually joking, or if it was a prank gone wrong, or if we did contact spirits that night. All I have to say is, don't play red book. A lot of the comments were like this fucker gotta possessed. Also, I would have kicked his ass out. Yeah, after scratching me up like that, I'd be like, get out of get out, get what is happening? Like, no, go be possessed by yourself somewhere else. I don't care how good of a friend you are. I would have like going straight up like, I'm sorry, you're scratching me, you're about to get you're ship rocked, you're about to get got, you're about asleep, sir, seriously, to keep playing games with this with this food after he scratched you up like that, No, I would have left. If I was to scratch the guy. First of all, I would have gone to the doctor because I don't know if this fool washes his hands. What if his nails are dirty and he was scratching you like that. It's infection waiting to happen. No thanks, even at even at that age, whenever it say eighth grade, I've been like, no, I'm out. I'm not staying here. Sammy agrees. If you could hear them laughing. I have one more, but I feel like it's not as good as the other one. This is from the three Kings subreddits. This next one, but I accidentally didn't write the user name. There's always going to be something messing with me. I'm sorry. So this person whoever the user name was, my bad. I haven't saved. I'll put it in the show notes. I'll put the links if I remember. I'm so sorry. I'm the worst. I remember in show notes for this podcast. Phrase study asn't known. I always put them. I don't know why. I don't want to understand anyway. So my friends and I did the Red Book ritual game on Friday night. We used Eldest by Christopher Paoloni because it was the thickest red hardcover book we could find in the library. Some of the answers we got were pretty cryptic, but some were extremely straightforward. For example, one of my friends asked if he would ever be cheated on, and the answer was a young man came a seduce her with words of love. The book said yes. The weirdest thing about the experience was that it took an hour before the spirit let everyone into the game. Oh my god, this sounds like the other story where they said it took a while to get let into the game. Oh okay, that's strange. I don't like it that these are similar. Wow. The weirdest thing about the experience was that it took an hour before the spirit let everyone into the game except for me. We ended it after ninety minutes and I hadn't been accepted into the game at all. It also seemed to have strong emotions toward one of my friends who got accepted around the sixteen minute mark. When he was asking to play the game, all his responses were quite dark and violent, stuff about murder, torture, and not get in a way with what you've done. Most of the applies to his questions were along those lines too, except for when he asked about his girlfriend. The spirit gave a really positive answer, something about their wings and flying. It went south for a bit. When he tried to leave the game, everyone managed to leave except for him and another friend. When the other friend asked if he could leave, the answer was something along the lines of go away then, but if you leave, I will cauterize you. What the hell? Oh my god. They got repeatedly angry and negative answers every time they tried to leave, until eventually the spirit let them go. The friend who had been getting consistently dark responses from the spirit got a poem when he asked to leave for the last time, and it went, gone gone, you shall be from me, and I will never see you again. Gone gone, You shall be from me, though I wait for you evermore. What the hell? Kind of creepy, But that's what we were looking for, So all in all, it was a good experience. Of course, I'm bummed that I wasn't accepted into the game at all, but it was fun to hear everyone else's answers regardless. On a lighter note, one of my friends got accepted into the game and the first round and was the one asking questions for a stallard. Twenty to thirty minutes, he ran out of questions and started asking whatever popped into his head like, well, I ever be comfortable wearing long pants parentheses he hates wearing jeans. The answer from the book was something along the lines of stop pestering me. So I told my friend to ask a more serious question. His next question was equally as ridiculous, and the answer from the book was a blank spot. Every time he asked a non serious question, he would get a blank spot the end. I don't like how similar the last his stories were. Yeah, I don't like it at all. How they all said it took a while to get into the game, and I wonder, I guess maybe the other the second story, maybe they just didn't try to leave the game and they just burned the book. Yeah, I don't under like it's too bad, like the op is not in contact with the people she did it with to see it like follow up, like, hey, did anymore happen? It is alan still Yeah, yeah, but that I don't know. All these stories were creepy and there I thought the last one wasn't going to be like I thought it was going to be pretty lame. But no, it was not too bad. It was not that bad. But yeah, I don't I don't like the similarities between those two. Yeah. Same. Yeah, I don't think I would even sit and watch someone play this game. I changed my mind. But but yeah, I guess that's all we have for this episode before we go. Do you have any spooky recommendations? No, I have again, not watching anything aside from reading the book for Oh. Yes, I will probably finish it in the next like three days. Yeah, I'm done. I finished ning and editing work, so I haven't listened to it. Yeah. I finished it last night. It was so good. I am really liking it so far. Obviously we're going to talk about it in the book Club episode, so I will save my comments. All they're other than I hate Matthew. Oh my god. I never wanted to jump in a book and like and beat your living shit out of someone. Yes, okay, that's a lie. There's a few books, but specifically this one. Oh yeah, I know too many Matthews. I've dated a Matthew. Oh, I'm so sorry. It was traumatizing. Oh, I'm sure, I'm so traumatized. I'm trying to think if I have any spooky recommendations. But I also haven't been watching anything because again, I've been drowning in editing work. Oh you know what, No, I did listen to an episode of It's Haunted What Now today while I was doing some stuff that don't require me to listen to, like whatever video I was editing, so I was able to hear something while doing that other than because if I don't do that, I will start yawning, like if I'm doing something repetitive, my ass look at sleepy like and ye a minute, like it's bad. So I have to have like something else happening at the same time. So I put on that podcast and yeah, it's it's good. It's hosted by Laney. She's a friend of the pod. People sending their stories to her and she narrates them and she has a beautiful voice, very soothing. And you know what, if you want a serious, scary podcast with one person, no interruptions, just straight through a story, listen to her podcast and don't leave us a one star review. I haven't talked about it, but we got another one that was like they can't read and they go on side what side something, side quest side. No, they wouldn't use side questions because that's our thing. Yeah, side conversations. I don't side tracks. They put can't read and get sidetracked, and I'm like, that's literally our thing, and then I and then I'm like, we born you guys. Every episode was like we can't read and they don't understand English. We're both fun. I mean, I don't know how many times we said it. And so I think it's a little unfair to live a one star review with something you were warned about. It's like, I don't know, being mad because you went to the lake and got wet, Like, come on, you were warned. It's like going to the beach and being mad that you got stand in your shoes. So yeah, and it's okayal like that one better, but yeah, it doesn't make any sense. So again, we cannot read, we don't know English or Spanish, like come on, yeah, like we're neurospicy. You know we're gonna be on tangents and side quests because that's the way our brain works. And honestly, like, you don't know how No, I don't think I can stress enough how much editing happens to make the stories more coherent, because sometimes I will be reading and skip a word and have to go back because I messed up the sentence or replace again because because I have a DHDA same same with like both of us do it, and you know what, we try to make it as coherent as possible, but we're not perfect. And I don't think we have monotone voices because they also said we have monotone voices. Yeah, I don't think so, because I you know, like they tell us we're either too bubbly or and now we're getting we're not bubbling, like what do you want from me? Yeah? What do you want from me? Now we get comments like oh they laugh too much, they're too happy, and then we're like, oh, you guys, and now we're too monotone, like come on, what is it? What do you want from us? What do you want? But you know what, shout out to the spookies who reached out, and we're like, I love that you guys laugh and get sidetracked. It's like talking to or it's like listening to cousins or or like to the cool das for the gen Z listener, you know, like the yeah, so we're I mean, like we know who we're here for, and it's not for people who want like a serious podcast, come on, yeah, because sometimes like listen sometimes you come across some stories that are like straight up what the fuck, and they're funny, like I know, like the person in the story is probably scared and terrified, but from an outsider looking in, it's hilarious and I'm gonna laugh. I'm sorry, yeah, or I guess so scared. I'm gonna laugh, Like you know, it's just what we do. It's normal. Yeah, what is it? Like? It's called dark humor leave still exactly. Yeah. I mean maybe one day I will stop sharing the one star reviews and being like, come on and stop complaining about them. But today it's not that day anyway. Anything else to add before we go? No, all right, well a Spookies throw away all your Red Books. Oh no, the book we're currently reading without the cover's red really Oh my god, I didn't know that. But it's not old, so you can't use it for the Red Book. It has to be an old Red Book. Okay. Well it's like yeah, like it's like if you take off the cover, the paper cover because I have a hard hard yeah, you have a hard cover, and then like in twenty years you can use it in the Red Book game. Oh I didn't know that because I have the audiobook. Yeah that's good to know. Okay, Yes, stay a spooking and we will catch everyone next time. Bye bye.
