The Tall Shadow Man

Hi everyone. This is Christina and this is MJ. And this is another episode of a Spooky Tells, the podcast for all things a spooky and shadow people's stories apparently, because that's what we're talking about today. We have a I guess this this episode is going to be a little bit different. We have a much longer than normal listeners story that we're going to listen to together, and then I have two very short shadow people's stories, and then you have my personal one. Oh okay, yeah, and okay, I guess I mean I don't have anything else to add to the beginning of this episode. All right, let's count to three and then we'll press kay and listen to this story together. Okay, one, two, three, plate believables go wrong. Probably first grade when I first had my experience, we were living a little village here in Chicago, and I was getting ready for the last day of school. When I saw like little sugars still look it reminded me of like the beast from building. The beast like on the walls, running and the wall was like white brick, and I just remember seeing like that big beast chumping like literally biting heads off of little humans or other creatures. And I stared at that while like a good thirty minutes and I saw that and I was like, I don't know if I was dreaming or what, but I know that block where I used to live there. I know the last house used to be a bar, and apparently there was some shooting. People die, like a processed tod. You used to work there. They got some murder. Some actually had abortion there, so out of probably because I was close to the area, it might have attractive stuff. I still remember that like to this day, like I can. It was. It was kind of scary from there. It's just like seeing shadows hearing steps, and it kind of like stopped for a while, but just hearing shadows, I mean seeing shadows are hearing steps back and probably two thousand and four, we my father bought a house in a little billee, like another area from Little Village. I remember we used to live the first floor. We just used to hear steps from the second floor, and nobody used to rent there, and then we ended up moving to the second floor and my dad ran to the first floor. I used to always hear footsteps in the attic. But the thing I said, the attic wasn't stable, like for you to be there for a long time. I used to tell my Yeah, my dad used to be like, oh, it's a joke. I was like, yeah, that's a joke. Yeah, so and then my Dad's like no. And it wasn't until when we got older. We moved to the first floor, and my older sister she stayed on second floor because she got married, and that's when she started hearing those stories, and she never believed me or anything. And then she's not like, oh, I heard like you guys weren't home or her foots is upstairs. And I was like, no, but they can be. And then my sister like, remember like we both blocked it at our neighbors that we had told us that supposedly an old lady committed suicide in the bathroom because her husband died. So we don't know whether that was sure not, but we're like, do you think it's like we used to say that, And I was like, I don't know. That was just like scary. So then at some point I kind of got used to it, but I was always scared to in the night, like in the morning, like since it was bright, I could going get the stuff, but when they stand had to send me to go get something or check because the electricity we used to go out. I was so scared, like my body will get chills and everything. And for some reason I will always think that that you don't know was like on the other side of the little door thing, and I was like, she's she's here to come and get me. I'm like, oh, I don't like that as all. Then we ended up moving. We moved to New York shortly, probably from two thousands May of twenty seventeen to probably the end of December twenty seventeen. Because it was expensive over there. We couldn't we couldn't manage. But I remember one day we were at the apartment that we found two rents, and the neighbor from like across from us, he passed away in his sleep in that home. So I remember that the next by the night I was sleeping, but I was like paralyzed, like come on, like you know how to say no. I was sleeping and my sister was on the other side of the couch and I remember clearly I couldn't move. My hands were kind of like for the like about to grass something, and I couldn't move. I saw my eyes like my younger sister was like because my nickname is China, so she was like China touching me everything. I couldn't move, and then I remember my mom, I was telling me, you're supposed to pray so bald and moister, like three times until the fourth time was like I was able to move, and then I let a scream out and I was like, I saw you trying to wake me up and move me, but I couldn't say anything. And I think that's I think I was like the third time I had experience because it because as a teenager in my passle like two times in that same old house that my dad used to own. It was just like I guess it was only me and my mom who used to had the experience of sens mortal. And I remember now that I'm talking about that, I remember that. And my mom at one point was afraid to sleep in the in the room like the first room when you enter to the house that my dad had to like take up the bed to the living room. Like she said it as soon as my dad had to work, that she would feel a presence, a negative presence kind of like go near the bed and like she would feel the bed kind of get like pushed down when somebody takes a seat. No, she would like cry and everything. And and it's funny because in that same room I had experienced two times. I guess I only slept there and then I was moved to the end of the room towards like the back. And that's when my parents had that room. That's when my mom had an experience in the room. And she said she had a dream where she saw a witch looking above her. Oh my god, Oh hell, no me, oh my god. I know she said she looked like really scary scarily that I was like, oh my god. So like me and her, we had slept in that room separate times, but we both had that same experience there. And then we came back from New York. I remember clearly it was December seven, and by a we stayed a couple of days at my sister's house where she was sprinting, and then we moved in that We lived shortly in that home, but like I think, spears anything there. It wasn't until the second apartment we moved to, which was the area is called back of the Yards slash Englewood, and I used to see a lot of shadows there and it was a tall man. I remember I was sitting down doing work and I see like someone like a male figure run across and I was like, I was like, oh, I guess my dad has to go to the bathroom. Then picture her dad just like bucketing from the bathroom. I go check. My dad is to sleep on the couch. I was like, then what was that? So then I keep saying this shadow everything. I got to a point where my dad and my older sister I actually saw the shadow too, and he didn't even say anything. Probably a couple of years after then, we moved out from there, but my sister said that the house used to be a branded so the owner bought it. He was fixing it. He fixed the first floor only, and he was finishing the second floor. And we were trying to come then to my older sister to move in to the second floor because it would have been closer if she needed to work. She could have just dropped my niece and nephew downstairs. You could have helped everything. But she would kept saying no, no, And I was like, what's going on, And she's like, it's because when one time I went to Busyu at the top of the search to the second floor. She said, like, I saw a tall shadow man it. Oh my god. I was like, what do you mean you saw a shadow She's like, and I described it and she's like yes. I'm like, okay, so I'm not the only one I've seen it, Like I would have dreams of that shadow person as well in my dreams. But it never did anything negative to me, Like it didn't scare me. So it was just like following me around. That year in twenty nineteen, I did a girl trip to New Orleans and I think I kind of made it worse there because we did the whole cemetery trip we did. We want to see like cemeteries and everything and throw out there. I heard a lot of chains. Okay, what are you doing? Who you're looking for? I'm like, don't you hear that? And they're like no. Oh. So I feel like after that vacation trip with the girls, it kind of what that's stronger because I will see like different shadows, but I will see that shadowman some one little to be dressistic like PATRICKO style. Wait, let's pause, hold on, let's pause, it's play. But the Zus thing they had the same when she's when she said that I was like, oh my god, this is like the shadow person that you saw. Yeah, but before, before your story, I had never heard of someone saying it was like a Patrick, Yeah, she's like the only other person I've ever heard the same same Yeah, So that was wild. When she said that, I was like, it's we know, is there anything like Latino people? We don't see the hat man, we see the man. That is crazy. I never heard that before, like another person having listen. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm telling you when she's When she told me that, I was mind blown, Like stop it. I immediately yelled out and I was like, oh, she's not here, I'm doing this phone call. But I told her. I was like, oh my god, that's exactly what MJ was sing. She's like, I know because she listens to the episodes. And I was like, of course, I don't know why he had to repeat it. Oh, we need the what's it called the like something that says we don't get the hat man seriously, like a bumper sticker. My shadow man is a bunch. Oh that's crazy. Okay, press play, okays, are you at eleven forty nine? Is that where you pause? Yeah? Okay, all right, let's press play after three one two three, play with the hell like that. So I ended up buying a house in twenty nineteen. We moved in. Everything's relaxed, I kind of seeing their few with the shadow. My paternal grandmother passes away the next year, twenty twenty. My mom said that she went downstairs to watch the to do the laundry when her no, she said she knew and she felt like a touch on her back, so she said she knew it was her mother in lawn. She was like, don't worry. That's a nice one. Now everything's gonna be all right. I'm gonna be here for your son, for your grandma, for your grandkids, your great grandkids and everything. And then from there she said she didn't fall anything. But wow, this is why I wanted to do a whole episode on just this because I was like, this is too similar to MJ's. It really is. That's insane, Like like I yeah, another Butchugo hat Man what? But because like I thought, like I was like, oh my god, am I the only one? But now that we like, I feel like it's like almost like something that only Latinos will see because it's like so engraved in our like the you know, the outfit. Yeah, yeah, that's crazy. Yeah, if this is like if yeah, you know what's funny though, like coming back like to like the whole theory that like hat Man is somewhat like dressed similar to the Men in Black. I'm like, what if our like Latinos get the alien. That's just like you know, it's like I'm gonna, like, you know, just just wear a zoot soon blend in right. Yeah, our little alien has style or whatever it is, the entity or whatever the being have I've noticed whenever I do tiktoks and I'm like saying that there's a being, I accidentally say the word bean, like it sounds like bean. I'm like this bean, and I'm like when I'm editing that whatever the captions and it says bean, and I'm like I replay it and I'm like, wow, I do say the word being like bean, and then like it's not just you, because I every time someone says being, I hear the same thing. And like when I'm watching like this extra extraterrestrial being, I'm like and then I think of a little alien bean, a little extra love it. Actually, that sounds really cute. Get a little alien eyes, it will be adorable. Yeah yeah it actually, yeah, that sounds like a like a cute sticker. It's only I could draw. I can't. I used to be able to, not anymore. I think I've already said this, but like sometime last year I had like suddenly I was like, I'm gonna learn to draw. Yeah, you painted that little alien I still have it. Yeah, So those are my practice cannabsies. I'm like and then I'm like midway, I'm like I'm done. Yeah, I drew one thing on my surface pro like a little boo ghost from Super Mario. And then I was like, I'm not doing this again. I'm bored with this terrible but yeah, if I could dry, would make a little freehold alien looking thing. Yeah, but wow, what I mean, like, what a creepy story? Yes? Yeah, but should we hear yours next? I'm jay, you have hear mine? Okay, So this like happened like within like the last I want to say, like months, maybe two months, because it's all like a timeline. There's just like crazy shit that happened. So I usually don't see much around this time, but I've been like sick, like crazy, and I don't know of like me being sick and being like just overall this negativity when it comes with when you're sick, like you just feel like shit. That was like drawing things to me or whatever. I don't know, but to give a little layout of my apartment. When you enter the door, it's straight into the living room, and then in front of you is the kitchen, and then to the left hand side there's a little hallway that you go into and it leads to the rooms. So I remember I was like, I think I had just gotten done making dinner, and I was having my kids like you know, like after dinner, brush their teeth, you know, get ready for bed, all that fun stuff. And I was I went into the hallway and to the left is my son's room, and I see like this figure of a person there right, and but wait, I still haven't I hadn't realized it was what it was. And I was like, oh, my son is just you know, he's chilling out, he's relaxing, he had dinner, he's you know, he's getting the sleepies. Okay, awesome. Cool, don't have to struggle that much tonight. And then I walk into my room and he's there, Oh no, oh no, And I was like and I was like, you know, like double take. I was like, what the hell just happened? And I was like, I thought you were like in the room right now. He was like, mom, I've been in here the entire time. I was like, stop it. And then and then I go back and they're just like nobody laying on the bed, Like I go. It was just freaky. So I was like gaslighting myself whatever. I like, I'm hallucinating. It's fine, it's fine, it's fine. And then like a few uh, like I want to say, like a week goes by, and then my husband gets home from work and I don't know what compelled him to do this, but we have a little play area that's like right after the kitchen and he walks into that area. I think to turn on the like Zoe was already night, and he freaks the fuck out. Like I'm talking about. He jumps and he's like, somebody just grabbed my legs. Oh my fucking god, no no, and like yeah, like something like just grabbed his calf and like try to like yank him. He was freaking out, and I was like stop it. And then oh my god, and then no, I guess like it was this week gets worse my mom and my kids where I think she was like, you know, like Grandma's like, let me fix you up something, even though you just had dinner, and she's in the kitchen with the kids, and her and my kids hear something in the playroom and they hear like a grunt, like a man going like h or something like that, and it was just them three and my mom's like freaking out. My son's freaking out. And that entire week, you would hear someone in the playroom like trying to play with the toys. Oh no, and this is is this the same playroom that you've heard like things before, Yes, the same playroom, but like for some reason, whatever was in this playroom was like this time being vocal about it and also grabbed my husband's legs. And that is always in the span of that I saw that like shadow person. Wow, that was that looked like my son, but wasn't my son. And and throughout this entire time, we're also hearing or I should say I'm hearing people like my kids call me and I'd be like, like, what's up, what's up? What do you want? I was like, Mom, nobody's talking to you like ouch, but I heard you and they was like, no, we didn't call you like and I was like, no, no, I heard mom with your voice, and then I would also hear my uh my name and it was like my husband's voice or my parents. It was just the weirdest thing, and it wasn't feeling very good. So my best friend was like, I am sending yukopa and you're gonna burn and stage your entire apartment. And I did and it worked like whatever. It was, It just yeah. But it was so crazy because we've never had like anything physically like touch us. But that day it just grabbed. My husband's liked and was like I don't like you. I'm gonna grabb You're like, but when I tell you he jumped, it was funny. It was funny at the time, but I tell you, he jumped so high. I was like, man, I've never seen you move that fast. But it was scary, like you know if we're so scary. But then I was like cracking up because I was like, man, I never moved that fast. But yeah, we did a cleansing. It was crazy. And then my mom had told me that and that's where I saw my son. She had one time like slept there, and she said, and one night she wasn't shrift. She was lucid, dreaming or not, but like she remembers one night opening her eyes and seeing like a very handsome man over her. But then this man's face turns horrendously ugly. Oh my god, it was like like shifting from this Like she was like he was a very handsome, very beautiful man, and then all of a sudden he wasn't. I was like, oh, that is not good. But me and my kids say that we have a mimic because it like that's terrifying. Yeah, because it like mimics the kids and like, yeah, and this is the same playroom, same kitchen where you always hear steps and you always hear like something trying to play with the toys. It was weird. It wasn't. I don't even know what's the worst part of all of that, the grabbing or I don't know, it's just all horrible. It's just I was not happy I cleansed because I was like I don't know what the hell's in here, but I don't have time for this. I'm sick. I ain't nobody got time for this. You're getting like a cleanse the hell out. But yeah, I bought some copal and I learned how to work with it because it is resin, very sticky. It's not fun, but I managed good good. It was the crazy and it's a it's been good. Since it's been good. I'm after this recording, I am probably gonna stage again, like I just yeah, understandable, Yeah, yeah, wow, wow. So the first one is out of Chihuahua, Mexico, and here it goes. One night a man named Carlos Jesus who woke up with sleep paralysis. He wasn't able to move much, but he was able to tilt his head and look towards the window. That's when he was surprised to find out that he wasn't alone in the room. Oh, I just remembered right now, when you said that, I completely forgot. So my daughter was having trouble sleeping. So she came into my room and you know, she was like sleeping on the bed and she looked out of my window and she like woke me up, and she's like, mom, and this is all within the timespan. Also, okay, this is all happening around the same time. And she's like, there's some men outside the window. I live on the second floor. Oh my god, Oh my god. I'm grasping at my chest right now. I'm horrified. I was like, I was like, Terri, no, I was so scared. And I woke up and Andrew was like, hey, can you close the blinds? I didn't tell him. I was like, yeah, you didn't tell him. Forgets him against him, but it's not gonna get me, yea. But anyways, you did that, I was like, I just know. Yeah, it was crazy. I was so scared, but you know what I tell you, Like, I don't think I try to close, but it was a hot day and I had to let the breeze come in. I was like, no, no, we're gonna I'm gonna sleep sweating. I don't care. Yes, close. So I was sleeping with my blind clothes. But she was like, she was like, she woke me up. I don't know what time it was. It was very early in the morning, very late at night whatever. And she's like, there's some twilight, like it was just it was dark. It was like twelve or one, two, three, I don't know, in the morning something like that. Yeah, And she was like, there's a man outside the window. I did not get sleep. Yeah. I would have been like, and you think I want to see that ship. I'm like I was just like, okay, let's just turn around and put her backs towards on window. If we can't see it, it's not happening. Start pulling a like that lady on the plane that move a buck around there. Someone sent me. Was it you who sent it to me? Or was a krmen? Someone sent me a reel where someone is like pretending to react like that when their kid comes and says like there's something in the closet. I think it must have been KRMINGI and I have not Okay, I should I not send it to you? I think you did, but I didn't say okay, okay, but you didn't see. Yes, yeah I would. I would have started doing that, actually, man. Yeah, so I've been cleansing as often as yeah. Wow, okay, let's go back to the story. Then I'm gonna start it over. Let's see you. When I amanded Carlos sus book up with sleep paralysis, he wasn't able to move much, but he was able to tilt his head and look towards the window. That's when he was surprised to find out he wasn't alone in the room. Staring back at him. Was there reflect action of a black figure. Unable to move, Carlossus was stuck in fear when a few seconds later he began to hear a voice in his head that faintly said come oh, no, sorry me, come with me. Us is worse, it said, my bad, It said, come with me, O, gess me. This only made matters worse, and the impending sense of doom accompanied the voice, almost like death was near and coming. For him. Soon, his breathing got shallow and his heart rate began to slow down. Even though Caro his Sus was completely scared and was sure the end for him was near, he knew that he had to do something, so he mustered up all his strength and forced his body to sit up. That's when suddenly the shadow figure disappeared. Cardlos Jesus was relieved, and when he turned around to check if anything else was in the room, he noticed the clock. It read three fifteen egg end. Of course, this became the first of many times that Carlos has Sus sung the Shadow Figure that month, but eventually the figure stopped showing up. During their last encounter before the figure disappeared, Cardossus once again fell dread and an impending sense of doom, but this time he wasn't as scared. Instead, he felt excitement and an urge to follow the shadow figure. M No, I've never had that urge. What what urge? What urge are you talking about? WEIRDO? Is the ur right? This last encounter felt like reaching the top of a roller coaster before the ride drops. That's not excitement either, that's like exciting I want to throw up. Yeah, anxiety Luckily catrole sisters did fied the urge and never followed the shadow figure. Oh good, good, Okay, let's see. He moved out of the apartment and then moved a few more times, hoping that by moving the figure would never catch up to him. And yeah, I agree. He didn't see it again after that, so it worked. That's good. Yeah. Wow mmmmmm. This other story is from Sonora and it was submitted by Kevin. According to Kevin, he caught his mother and sister talking about strange activity happening in the house a few months before his mother passed away. During the conversation, Kevin overheard his mother had confessed to his sister that she had seen a dark figure more than once in her closet. You. She also added that the figure was always wearing some type of hoodie. He's comfy. Kevin's sister also confessed that she had seen a shadow figure standing over her candle when she was a child. Oh my god, Sammy, when she was a child. At that point, both of them called Kevin into the room and asked if he's ever experienced anything strange in the house. Kevin was shocked to find out he wasn't the only one that had seen a shadow figure in the house. He told them he'd seen it standing over the end of his bed a few times, and that usually he was overwhelmed with a sense of fear when it happened he would sleep. He would only sleep with the covers over his head to hide from the figure. But no matter how much he tried to ignore the feeling of dread, he always felt like if he took the covers off his head, the figure would be right there at the edge of the bed, staring. It seemed like the shadow figure was attached to the entire family because his brother also saw it. He called it the little man that would come out of his closet every night. But unlike his mother's, Kevin's brothers swore the shadow figure was wearing a strange beret instead of a hoodie. That's weird but gross. Nonetheless, yes, I don't like it. I feel like my shadow people are less they're the one that touched Yeah, yeah, better him. Actually that is very true. So in a sense they are nice because they didn't do it to you. They're like, I'll spare her. I don't get this, uh huh, yeah, oh my gosh, no, I'm I'm glad I've never seen anything. I'm so thankful I didn't see whatever the hell my daughter was saying outside the one like, I feel bad for her, but I'm also thinking I didn't see I would have died of a heart attack of fear, like right on the spot. Like my poor kids that come to me for help and I just pass out and they both need help. Children, get your father, Yeah, yeah, don't get mobbed. Yeah, don't call me. Leave me out of this. Well, I guess this was a bit of a shorter episode because I forgot to write down the other story that I was gonna do. So yes, but before we go, do you have any spooky recommendations? No, I've like been I finished X Files a while ago, and I'm like trying to find something that's similar, but I have not. I know there's that show Fringe, but I don't know if it's anny good. I've never I've never watched it. Yeah, well, do you watch what We Do in the Shadows? Yes? Okay, have you been keeping up with the newest season? No? Oh, well do that because their episodes are out and they're great. That's one of my recommendations. And my other one is not spooky. But this Food season two came out, Oh my god, I'm so excited, and there actually is a paranormal ish episode in it, so you know what it counts is recommendation it does? Yeah, yeah, I watched that ship in like a day. They're so funny. I love this Food. I just it's such a good show. Yeah, one of my favorites. So yeah, those are my two recommendations. And anyone if anyone watched the other recommendation that I had, I need to know if anyone else thought it was like as good as I did the one that I mentioned, like, I think it was like three episodes ago. I think it's the any moment the Agentina movie. I told our friends over at Shake and Not Scared podcast, but I don't know if if they've watched it yet, because I'm like, I need someone to talk about this movie with. I still have not watched it. I need I know if you do watch it, then we should talk about it. But only if you watch it. I already spoiled the first like five minutes though that's fine. It's only five minutes. So yeah, but I thought it was good. I guess some people are not happy with like the ending. But I'm like, I don't know. If a story doesn't conclude, if it's not clear, I don't care. It's like my art story. Yeah exactly, was I entertained? Was I scared? Okay, that's good enough for me. But as we have said this many times, I have low standards. We have, like I like, you know, I like it when it leaves off on a cliffhanger or everything's not fully explained because I'm like, oh, more content for them to do, right. Yeah. Yeah, So it's not a big deal to me, but I guess that bothered a lot of people that there's just some things that were not explained in the movie. So yeah, if you watch it, I don't know, and you don't like things like that, then you're probably not gonna like this movie. But I thought it was great. Let's see other than that, Should we announce the book Club book now or should we wait till the book Club episode? I don't know what's up to you, I guess, I think, but let's just say it. Wait what was it? Oh, Silver Night Trade? Yes? Yes, Sylvia Marina Garcia mm hmmm, we're almost like an only she she comes out with so many books like I just I mean, I just got this one. My best friend got her for me, and then she's like popping out like two more and I'm like, girl, let me catch up first, Like, yeah, let us catch up. I still need to read the Monroe one too, doctor. Yeah, I haven't read that one. Yeah, yeah, but I absolutely cannot. It's coming out very very soon now the oh yes, it's a tomorrow tomorrow. Yes, okay, so that should be your next one. My husband's boss slash friend gave him her copy for me, so I have it, and so I was like, I want to do this one too. There's just so many books. I feel like we need to try and beat as much as we can, because so many books I want to cover, like they're you're right, I'm gonna try better because I took way too lost with the short Ass. So we're gonna talk about it. Because it's like you're you have, you do a lot of editing, you you work, and then like on top of that word it's so hard, like there's not This is why it's the book Cleft for Busy People Away. Yeah. Yeah, but I just wish we had more time because there's so many books that I just want to read and talking about there's not enough time. Yeah, there never is enough time. We're always like finding more time, and then my perception of time already stuck. So it's like worse. Yeah, and like I try to read and then by the time I'm like it's the end of the day, I'm like, it's already what time? Iden? I fuck, I have to sleep. I'm not gonna be if I don't get enough sleep. I'm my day's right. I don't function until afternoon. Then next day, and then I'm like, wow, is it already five? Where has the day gone? So I need It's like a spiral of like, yeah, one thing after the next affects the next thing, and yeah, it's terrible. I hate it life. Yes, not that I hate life. I just hate when like one thing ruins everything else, and that happens a lot. Oh, anyway, I guess before we go off off the rails, we should end it. Y.
