A hunter calls me after hearing something in the woods that he can’t explain. He was alone in the Blue Mountains, camping deep in the wilderness, when an unknown sound stopped him cold. It wasn’t an animal he recognized, and but the fear came from the pounding headaches he was feeling. After sharing that call, I dive into one of the most controversial pieces of physical evidence ever connected to Bigfoot: the Skookum Cast.Discovered in Washington State, this strange body impression was examined by trained scientists and anthropologists. Some of them believed it showed anatomical details that didn’t match any known animal. Others disagreed. The debate continues to this day.Was the hunter hearing the same thing that left behind the Skookum Cast? And if so… what’s really out there in the woods?Listen carefully, and decide for yourself.Email me your stories at edwin@paranormalclub.com
00:00:00
What do I think when somebody who feels completely comfortable
00:00:05
out in the wilderness, in the darkness around guns and large
00:00:09
animals and strange noises of the night, what do I think when
00:00:13
they tell me that they ran away from their campsite completely
00:00:17
freaked out? Well, this is the story that we
00:00:19
got today. And from what I've found,
00:00:22
there's been way more stories of people that live out, are
00:00:24
completely comfortable in the mountains that I've experienced
00:00:27
strange noises from a creature that they say lives out there.
00:00:31
We might know them as Bigfoot, but who knows what it could be.
00:00:37
You ready? My name is Edwin and this is
00:00:41
Paranormal Club. All right, this is a very creepy
00:00:51
story. This one comes in from Reed.
00:00:53
Here we go at a very strange night.
00:00:55
Back in 2008, while I was living and working in Dayton, WA, I
00:01:00
planned a hunting scouting trip in the Blue Mountains in August
00:01:03
for the upcoming archery elk hunt.
00:01:06
I got out of town later than I wanted and drove up to the
00:01:09
general location I was interested in.
00:01:12
Normally I would drive around and see where all the roads
00:01:14
ended and also the stuff that's gated in the area as part of the
00:01:19
trip to determine access. But since I had a late start I
00:01:23
decided to just park where a logging Rd. kicked off and hike
00:01:26
across the adjacent draw looking for signs as I went.
00:01:31
My plan was to scout for tracks and signs and find a good
00:01:34
Overwatch area to camp at and catch a view of the animals at
00:01:38
last light and first light the next morning.
00:01:41
I was only staying one night and it was August so I had already
00:01:45
decided it would be a dry camp, no fire.
00:01:49
As I hiked down the embankment of one side of the draw and
00:01:52
backed up the other, I was quite surprised on how little animal
00:01:56
signs I found, but also shocked by how dense and snaggled the
00:02:02
undergrowth was in the Blue Mountains.
00:02:05
I'm a Montana boy and on mountains are hard, full of
00:02:09
rocks and only get thick with blow down, rarely from
00:02:12
undergrowth. Anyway, I traveled slower than
00:02:15
expected and already being a late start I didn't make it.
00:02:19
But up the other side before I was losing light and needed to
00:02:22
find a level spot for my tent, I found a little Ridge.
00:02:26
It was not ideal but gave me some view and I was pretty much
00:02:29
out of options with the time. Now I want to be clear, I was
00:02:33
highly mindful of hydration on this trip.
00:02:36
I made sure to drink plenty of water the day before the trip,
00:02:39
and I chugged water before departing the truck, and every
00:02:42
break I took nips from my water bladder.
00:02:45
At altitude. You exhale more moisture than
00:02:47
normal in addition to what you lose in sweat, and I was not
00:02:50
going to suffer leg cramps in the middle of the night.
00:02:53
I say all this because the two explanations I can come up with.
00:02:56
The hydration is 1, but it just couldn't have been.
00:03:00
I woke up with a start at about 1:00 AM.
00:03:05
My head was pounding with pain, a pulsing or throbbing pain that
00:03:09
with each pulse would intensify for about 5 or so pulses and
00:03:13
then reset and start building again.
00:03:17
And never experienced anything like it before and have never
00:03:20
since. It was incredibly painful, but
00:03:23
that final pulse of pain being just unbearable.
00:03:27
So I'm alone on a mountain, pitch black and my head is
00:03:32
splitting apart and I have no reason to say why.
00:03:36
I know I can't panic, as even a modest situation can turn
00:03:39
horrendous if you panic. So I start running self
00:03:43
diagnostics, as I call it. Try to understand what's
00:03:46
happening. Food poisoning?
00:03:48
No, I only ate a bagel for dinner that was from a package I
00:03:52
bought only two days ago and I had already had one without
00:03:55
issue. Besides, another most common
00:03:58
contaminant for a bagel would be fungus, which is exceedingly
00:04:01
rare to cause foodborne illness. Usually just impart a nasty
00:04:05
flavor that will make you sick when you taste it.
00:04:08
Dehydration. No, I was drinking plenty of
00:04:11
water. My piss was clear just before
00:04:13
bed. Cheese.
00:04:21
OK read. It's pretty cool that your piss
00:04:24
was clear. That's I, that's what we should
00:04:27
all be doing. Pissing clear.
00:04:29
Is your piss clear? Better be drink some water.
00:04:34
I feel shortness of breath in addition to the headache.
00:04:37
The only other thing I could think of was oxygen altitude
00:04:41
sickness, but I was only at 5500 feet.
00:04:46
Then again I was now living at 1500 even though Montana I
00:04:51
typically live and work around a Mile High.
00:04:53
Could that be? Still not sure, but it was the
00:04:56
only thing that I could blame it on.
00:04:58
I started trying to focus on breathing to see if I can
00:05:01
regulate the process now. Since the moment I woke up,
00:05:04
there has been a highly unusual and exceedingly loud animal call
00:05:09
sounding off. It wasn't far from me.
00:05:12
It's a very distinctive whooping call that is patterning in a
00:05:15
three or four set repetition. I was too preoccupied with my
00:05:20
condition to paint much mind while I try to diagnose my
00:05:23
problem, but there was an unnerving quality to this call.
00:05:27
I've called animals of all kinds in from elk, deer, antelope,
00:05:32
coyote, and I'm familiar with lots of animal calls growing up
00:05:36
on a ranch and a farm. Growing up on a farm in Nowhere,
00:05:40
Montana, you can say I spent a lot of time learning to mimic
00:05:43
animal calls. I don't have the ego to say I'm
00:05:46
some world champion either, but I can trick most of them and I
00:05:50
study lots into the calls I hear to help the calls I make.
00:05:54
By the way, calls here is referring to mimicking the sound
00:05:57
of an animal so that they can come.
00:05:58
They can think that you're one of them, and then you're easy.
00:06:01
It's easier to approach. To put it in the back of my
00:06:04
mind, I told myself it was some Washington bird that I'm not
00:06:07
familiar with since I'm from Montana.
00:06:09
However, this was a very large animal.
00:06:12
It was male and it was challenging.
00:06:15
Before the actual whoop, there was what we would call a growl,
00:06:20
an elk bugle. It only comes from the biggest
00:06:24
and baddest bulls and only when they are pissed off.
00:06:29
I rarely throw a growl in a bugle.
00:06:31
Bugle. Is that how you pronounce that?
00:06:34
Before the actual whoop, there was what we would call a growl,
00:06:38
an elk bugle. It only comes from the biggest
00:06:41
and baddest bulls and only when they are pissed off.
00:06:45
I rarely throw a growl and a bugle because it can intimidate
00:06:48
and scare off bulls that aren't completely sold on challenging A
00:06:51
herd bull. Not only is this called
00:06:53
challenging, but it's aimed at me, or at least in my direction.
00:06:59
After failing to cure the headache with breathing and
00:07:02
acknowledging this continuous whooping haul, I came to terms
00:07:06
that I would not be able to sleep anymore that night.
00:07:08
I also knew I couldn't cut back to the truck the way I came as I
00:07:12
only had a small headlamp and it was hard to navigate in the
00:07:15
daylight. As you can see from the
00:07:17
locations I sent. I pulled up my GPS and saw that
00:07:21
the logging Rd. I had stepped the truck at
00:07:23
looped back just above where I camped.
00:07:26
The only problem being I had to walk toward this whooping call
00:07:29
as I followed the road back to my truck.
00:07:32
As I started to approach it, the call went silent.
00:07:36
That had this very uneasy feeling as I walked that road.
00:07:39
Maybe a being watched type of feeling.
00:07:44
Other than my headlamp it was pitch black out and that didn't
00:07:47
help that was armed. It was unnerved to unholster my
00:07:51
pistol with a round chamber, something I have never done
00:07:54
before or since. Once I drove back home and got
00:07:58
closer to town, my headache and shortness of breath completely
00:08:02
resolved. Sorry for the wall of texts, but
00:08:04
in all the podcasts I've listened to I haven't heard
00:08:06
anyone suffer these symptoms. It's very strange for it to be
00:08:10
altitude sickness as the information I read said that
00:08:13
usually doesn't happen until 5600 feet in elevation.
00:08:16
From what I read it can be a no rhyme or reason event, but it's
00:08:21
very common for me to hike and hunt 7 to 8000 foot elevations
00:08:25
and I have never ever had an issue before or since.
00:08:31
I knew you get information that ever makes the show.
00:08:33
So wondering you have ever heard anything like this before.
00:08:36
It just seems like a heck of a coincidence.
00:08:38
And that's the story from Reed. Reed's message came in for, you
00:08:44
know, to schedule a call, to record the call.
00:08:46
And then we edit it and put it out.
00:08:48
And in the final part of the recording, we know sometimes we
00:08:52
say to talk a little bit and, you know, about the story and
00:08:55
about other, you know, a few other things, like other creepy
00:08:57
phenomena kind of things. And there was this thing that he
00:09:01
mentioned after, which is way later, you know, he was talking
00:09:06
to someone. They're like, hey, you better
00:09:09
not go out there. Don't go past those fences or
00:09:12
something like that because if you do, you might not like what
00:09:16
you hear out there. Now by this time, Reed had
00:09:19
already heard this strange sound like a call.
00:09:23
And Reed responds with the sound like this, and he does a call.
00:09:29
This guy's like, hold on, do that again.
00:09:32
And he does it again and he's like, that's it.
00:09:37
Nobody knows where that sound comes from.
00:09:42
Now I know being out of the woods is something I don't do
00:09:46
and I know that it gets really eerie, really creepy really
00:09:50
fast. Based on all on on all the
00:09:52
movies that I've seen, Blair Witch Project being one of them
00:09:55
that I have actually have an episode on in this podcast.
00:09:59
Because there's something about areas that aren't populated with
00:10:05
people that makes you wonder who the heck people can live out
00:10:10
there. Have you guys heard of those
00:10:11
people that live out in the woods just like a hermit?
00:10:14
Kind of like they just go out there and build their own little
00:10:17
houses and they don't want to be bothered and they live with a
00:10:19
shotgun and that's it. Like they don't want to deal
00:10:22
with society. I think of that.
00:10:25
I think that freaks me out even more.
00:10:26
But now with all these Bigfoot stories and Sasquatch stories
00:10:29
and all these other creatures that you hear that live out in
00:10:31
the woods and inside of the caves, really makes you wonder
00:10:34
what the heck is out there. I don't know if you are you guys
00:10:39
big campers because from what I've seen in the Washington area
00:10:44
that I guess the Pacific Northwest of the United States
00:10:47
also in the in the yeah, in the north Montana areas and in the
00:10:52
lakes in the Great Lakes, people, you know, encounter
00:10:56
strange beings and strange creatures out there.
00:10:59
That's where we get at least where I've seen a lot of of
00:11:02
stories of encounters our nature.
00:11:06
But there was this, you know, asking about the elevation
00:11:10
things. I actually looked it up and
00:11:12
yeah, you elevation symptoms really do look like that
00:11:16
headache for me at least. I spent some time in the Cusco,
00:11:20
I'm sure mentioned in some podcasts before, but I spent a
00:11:24
lot in Cusco in Peru in South America.
00:11:27
And when I first got there, I remember the pounding headache.
00:11:31
I remember the nightmares, waking up short of breath, not
00:11:36
being able to climb up hills because you just like you can't
00:11:39
breathe. It gets really, it's really
00:11:40
difficult until you get used to it.
00:11:42
People out there though, are completely used, right?
00:11:45
But yeah, I understand the headache thing.
00:11:47
I definitely experienced a headache, but like that, I don't
00:11:51
know. Ree's recordings is going to
00:11:53
come out. I'll let you guys know when when
00:11:56
it's out so you can I can link to it and you can go check it
00:11:59
out. From his own voice and his own,
00:12:01
his own way of expressing himself, which is it was a very
00:12:05
interesting story. There is this organization that
00:12:11
researches Bigfoot sightings and it's called the Bigfoot Field
00:12:15
Researchers Organization and I went in there to see if I could
00:12:20
find any other Washington area sightings.
00:12:22
By the way, this event from Reed happened in the Blue Mountains
00:12:25
and I found a bunch of sightings, all of these posts on
00:12:29
forums and of strange creatures and and calls, things that you
00:12:34
can hear strange noises from a creature that's out there.
00:12:39
Reed actually gave me coordinates, like GPS
00:12:42
coordinates of where he was, where the truck was, where the
00:12:46
campsite was. And it's like in the middle of
00:12:52
no, it feels like it's in the middle of nowhere.
00:12:54
So I don't know how how people do that go stay out there,
00:12:57
especially alone at night. I don't know.
00:13:01
But anyway, I did find this one case.
00:13:04
It's one of those cases you really got to think about
00:13:06
because it has a witness account, a strong witness
00:13:10
account that got classified as like like AB received AB
00:13:14
classification from from the this organization.
00:13:18
And there is also an actual scientific research document
00:13:25
that was opened up and they found something that you
00:13:30
probably wouldn't believe. Like actually it was an imprint
00:13:32
of like a butt, a butt and legs and maybe like somebody like a
00:13:39
creature sitting down or slipping and falling.
00:13:41
I was like that. Let's start off with the first
00:13:43
one, right? So this is between 1997 and
00:13:46
2003. If the place is, if this is in
00:13:49
Snohomish, WA, near Cathcart Hill.
00:13:53
Now around the area, from what I found in the report, West side
00:13:58
of where this witness lived, they had been clearing out some
00:14:02
of the forest basically what used to be this really dark,
00:14:07
really creepy, obviously Pacific Northwest Washington kind of
00:14:11
forest got taken, got slowly demolished, like taken down.
00:14:15
So they were, they were going to make a new development in the
00:14:18
area. Obviously this has a lot of
00:14:21
implications, a lot of issues that come up with animals and
00:14:26
the hippies and the whole whole, I mean, obviously we're supposed
00:14:30
to like preserve this stuff, right?
00:14:33
Nature, we're destroying the stuff that gives us oxygen.
00:14:36
I don't understand the logic, but what they were saying is
00:14:40
that all the animals were moving like they were being displaced.
00:14:45
And this will kind of help explain these strange events
00:14:47
that happened, right? So this anonymous witness starts
00:14:51
explaining everything in in a lot of detail, right?
00:14:55
They would start hearing sounds in the middle of the night.
00:15:00
They would frequently hear many calls echoing from the woods.
00:15:04
They even suspected it was a Bigfoot kind of thing, but they
00:15:07
didn't know what it sounded like.
00:15:08
So they just kept, you know, keeping an ear out for it.
00:15:12
And one night, while they were outside smoking, this noise came
00:15:19
from nearby. And it sounded like this huge
00:15:22
animal, kind of like an imagine they say an elephant walking
00:15:28
through a bunch of wild Berry bushes, basically these really
00:15:34
thick bushes that bears don't even go through them because
00:15:36
they're, they're just rough to get through.
00:15:39
And they heard the sounds kind of going toward them.
00:15:42
All right, Imagine that, right? A huge enemy can kind of hear,
00:15:46
imagine the weight of that, like the, the, the magnitude of these
00:15:50
sounds. So you could imagine that it's
00:15:53
this huge animal coming toward you, right.
00:15:54
Another thing was that one evening this other friend, like
00:15:58
this friend that was with with the witness, was met with this
00:16:01
horrifying shriek from the same thicket of bushes.
00:16:06
The sound was this blood curling scream.
00:16:10
It said. I'm scrambling back inside
00:16:12
completely freaked out. Whatever was out there was
00:16:16
capable of producing these really, really realistic sounds.
00:16:21
Now, one of the creepiest things from this report was from a
00:16:27
rope. And it wasn't like a noose or
00:16:31
anything, right? I think this would have been
00:16:34
less scary than this. Now, what they found was this
00:16:39
road out there made of leashes, telephone cord, like scrapping
00:16:47
together a rope. It was tied to a tree and it was
00:16:52
leading into a hole that they had in the roof.
00:16:57
Now, it sounds like a problem to have a hole in your roof,
00:16:59
obviously, but imagine having a rope trying to make it over your
00:17:05
house. Oh, I guess the whole, OK, here,
00:17:09
I see it in the, in the report here, there was a hole in the
00:17:12
roof that would let the light shine through.
00:17:14
So a skylight kind of thing, I'm assuming.
00:17:18
But the friend was convinced that somebody had tried to get
00:17:20
in and they said they mentioned it.
00:17:23
No, they actually said that. They mentioned it in town and
00:17:25
someone else said that they also experienced a similar thing.
00:17:28
So if it is a strange creature out there has a capacity to make
00:17:33
rope and try to get somewhere, right?
00:17:36
They try to sneak into your house, imagine that sleeping.
00:17:40
And then out of nowhere, from the inside, like from inside
00:17:44
your house, you get this thing coming in, I don't know, as
00:17:49
bizarre. Anyway, so then there's this
00:17:51
night, they call it the night of the encounter, right?
00:17:54
They're driving down. There's two people, one person,
00:17:56
the witness with a friend, and they're heading north on a
00:18:00
Snoamish Ave. now. As they round this familiar
00:18:04
bend, right around the road, a place where there is, there's a
00:18:08
dark swamp on one side and a quite horse pasture on the
00:18:11
other. The headlights catch something
00:18:13
in the darkness, what they call I shine.
00:18:18
You have to be out there from the woods to really be able to
00:18:20
spot I shine. Even though it's kind of obvious
00:18:22
when, when you think about it, the light reflects from a
00:18:25
thing's eyes when it says, when I came around the bend and saw
00:18:29
eyes shine, I slowed to a crawl so to not hit what it was.
00:18:33
So they're inching closer and closer slowly.
00:18:38
The mind is racing to identify what this animal is.
00:18:42
Now at first glance, they think it might be a pony because
00:18:47
there's a pasture right there, right?
00:18:48
There's a horse pasture. They're like, oh, how cute pony,
00:18:52
but started moving across the road and then you realize that
00:18:58
the form of it is all messed up. It was on all fours, but its
00:19:04
proportions were weird, unnatural.
00:19:07
I started crawling. They started noticing they
00:19:10
looked kind of like, what do you call those really lazy animals
00:19:17
that are always sleeping? Like, what are they called?
00:19:23
Sloth? I guess that was kind of like a
00:19:26
slot. It turned its face.
00:19:29
It looked like its back end was taller than the front.
00:19:37
It was like a weird yeah, this is where it says it reminded me
00:19:42
of a slot. And they said that when they
00:19:44
really thought about it, they kinda described it more
00:19:50
viscerally as looking like a caveman slash animal.
00:19:55
Now, the color of it, now you in your mind, you might have been
00:19:59
seeing it as brown or black kind of color, but really it was a
00:20:03
light color like Gray or maybe white.
00:20:07
They weren't expecting that, were you?
00:20:09
That wasn't either. Now the creature looked right in
00:20:13
the eyes, like looked them right in the eyes.
00:20:15
And there was only like 15 feet away, like it wasn't even that
00:20:17
far. And then it slipped into the
00:20:20
night, vanished completely disappeared.
00:20:24
Now, Stan, they pull the car, the car a little bit forward.
00:20:27
They roll down the window again. These people, man, that you,
00:20:31
when you live out there, you're like, huh, I wonder what it is?
00:20:34
And they they investigate, but they, they as soon as they roll
00:20:39
down the window, they start realizing that this thing
00:20:43
stinks. Like it smells like sulfur.
00:20:45
It was combined with like skunk and like just the really nasty,
00:20:50
nasty smell. And they were freaking out
00:20:53
obviously from the whole thing. Now, rolling down the window is
00:20:57
a mistake, man. One time I remember I was
00:21:00
driving with my dad and I was a little kid and I was like, oh
00:21:04
man, it smells really bad. And I was going to roll down the
00:21:05
window and my dad's like, no. And I was like, why not?
00:21:10
It turns out there were skunks nearby.
00:21:12
I didn't even know those things existed, but man, I filled the
00:21:16
car out with like the stinkiest of smells.
00:21:22
Ding. Anyway, So they sort of
00:21:25
processing, you know what, what was it?
00:21:27
Do we see? And they think of different
00:21:29
things, Like one of them is like, hey, this might be a giant
00:21:33
sloth. So let's look up sloth varieties
00:21:36
like sloth creatures. Maybe they live in Washington.
00:21:40
But it's like this thing was on all fours.
00:21:43
What kind of walking in a weird way.
00:21:46
But the friend was convinced that this thing was Bigfoot.
00:21:50
So what would you think? What do you think that was
00:21:55
Bigfoot? Like, would you be the friend
00:21:58
that thinks it's Bigfoot or the friend who's more like logical,
00:22:02
like, hey, let's let's ChatGPT this thing.
00:22:04
Actually, back then there was no, not even I guess Google
00:22:07
wasn't even that that popular. What am I saying?
00:22:11
I guess no, I wasn't. No, no, no, I wasn't.
00:22:14
I think I would be the friend that would try to disprove that
00:22:19
it wasn't Bigfoot or something like that.
00:22:22
Like I would try to be like the, the skeptical one, just to play
00:22:25
like devil's advocate here. I think I would do that.
00:22:29
But then they started finding out more about Bigfoot, watching
00:22:31
TV shows about it and everything.
00:22:34
And then they're like, you know what, I think that's the only
00:22:36
thing it could have been. It was Bigfoot.
00:22:38
So they wrote out the report, they sent it in and then the
00:22:41
investigators followed up and they, they classified it as a,
00:22:44
you know, the B classification. I don't know what that means,
00:22:47
but I guess they were like unsure with some of the
00:22:50
description that they saw because the color didn't make
00:22:53
any sense. The color of the, the creature.
00:22:57
I mean, logically speaking here, it might have been some weird
00:23:01
animal, a deformed animal, an injured animal.
00:23:05
You don't know you're on the middle of nowhere.
00:23:08
There might be animals out there that aren't that common or you
00:23:12
might not. You might have never seen, I
00:23:14
don't know, the classification. Yeah, it was says right here it
00:23:16
was due to the undetermined nature of the animal in
00:23:21
Washington. So we can take these events,
00:23:24
right? These witnesses telling us
00:23:26
stories about what they've experienced as an account from
00:23:30
them. They, their minds might have
00:23:32
played a trick on them or they might have seen something like
00:23:34
that. And we're just trying to be here
00:23:37
ignoring everything and acting like they need to prove the
00:23:40
existence of Bigfoot instead of us just being like, oh, what if
00:23:42
there is something out there? But there was a group of
00:23:44
scientists that actually investigated something and
00:23:47
probably one of the most compelling pieces of evidence of
00:23:50
the existence of Bigfoot. Here's what happened, right in
00:23:54
September of the year 2000, there was this expedition team
00:23:58
from the BFRO, the Bigfoot Fields Researchers Organization.
00:24:02
It included Tom Powell, Richard Knoll, Dr. Leroy Fish, and Derek
00:24:07
Randalls. And they were conducting
00:24:08
research, right? They had a simple goal.
00:24:10
They were going to find and capture physical proof of the
00:24:14
existence of Big fun. The plan was simple, right?
00:24:17
They were going to identify location with soft earth light
00:24:20
mud. They placed a pile of fruit in
00:24:23
the center of the area as bait and their goal was to attract
00:24:27
the Sasquatch to combinate the fruit and they were going to
00:24:30
take the footprints. Thing is, they did find a
00:24:34
footprint. It actually was more than a
00:24:37
footprint. It was a butt print.
00:24:40
They actually found actually more than just a butt print.
00:24:42
It was like a partial body impression and the software is
00:24:46
next to the mud. What they found out was it you
00:24:49
can see the butt, a thigh, a forum, a forearm, a hand and a
00:24:53
heel. Just kind of like when an animal
00:24:56
falls off to the side. So they analyze that that, you
00:24:58
know, this was maybe an animal, full animal's body, right?
00:25:03
So they got a cast from it. This thing became known as the
00:25:08
Skookum cast and was taken by to examine by multiple independent
00:25:13
experts. The initial examination was done
00:25:16
by Doctor Grover Kranz, John Green and Doctor John
00:25:18
Bindernagle. And they came up with, you know,
00:25:21
they say that the infant was not attributable to any recognized
00:25:25
animal species and was most likely made by a living
00:25:29
Sasquatch. I don't even know what to think
00:25:39
of that because of all the paranormal stuff that happened.
00:25:43
You know, we normally focus a lot on spirits and ghosts and
00:25:46
demons and things like that. Sasquatch is a whole other thing
00:25:52
for me because this thing can actually exist and this thing
00:25:57
can actually be real living out there somewhere, and we're just
00:26:01
denying. We're just like, we have all
00:26:03
these people that say that, yeah, they've heard it, they've
00:26:05
seen them. They, they, they, they talk
00:26:07
about their encounters. I've actually spent a lot of
00:26:09
time listening to encounters out in the woods and Bigfoot
00:26:14
Sasquatch. I mean, the proof that the
00:26:16
witnesses have very little sometimes to gain from sharing
00:26:21
such for making something up, right?
00:26:24
So I think of that, and I'm like, oh, man, here we have some
00:26:30
doctors talking about that. So it just makes it a little
00:26:35
weird, right? You have actual scientists
00:26:37
saying that, yeah, this is an actual living Sasquatch proof of
00:26:42
it. Then they investigated again,
00:26:44
right? This was Doctor Jeff Meldrum,
00:26:45
Doctor George Schaller, Doctor Estevan Sarmiento and Dr. Darius
00:26:49
Swindler. And they they examined it again.
00:26:52
And this examination confirmed the initial conclusion and they
00:26:58
did some specific analysis of the heel, the heel area.
00:27:01
This was but Doctor Doris Swindler, and he was a former
00:27:04
skeptic. He he stated unequivocally that
00:27:08
the heel print belonged to a giant unknown primate.
00:27:13
Now I think this last one by Doctor Swindler was the most
00:27:17
significant, No, because he was a skeptic.
00:27:22
Like, he came in trying to disprove everything that they
00:27:24
found. Now there was a there was a
00:27:26
thing that made it. Here's the thing about the heel,
00:27:29
right? Like, why?
00:27:30
Why would they say that, right? The heel impression that was
00:27:32
captured in the skookum cast. It was much larger than a human
00:27:36
heel, yet its underlying structure is definitively
00:27:40
primate. They have their own ways of
00:27:42
figuring this out, right? And the detail in the impression
00:27:46
suggests a specific motion. It appears a creature dug its
00:27:49
right foot into the soft soil to get leverage while reaching for
00:27:53
the fruit. The action created a deep, clear
00:27:57
impression of the heel that extended some distance up the
00:28:01
back of the leg, providing A3 dimensional view of its anatomy
00:28:05
that is difficult to dismiss. Now these are two, two little
00:28:11
things right that they they they come up with to to use as proof
00:28:15
as existence for the existence of of the Sasquatch.
00:28:19
But there was also another thing that they found in there and
00:28:22
that was a hair, literally one hair they found like normal
00:28:26
animal hair, bear, deer, things that you would expect out there
00:28:30
in in the woods. But also there was 1 little
00:28:34
strand in there that was also known.
00:28:38
Actually that was not known. It was not catalogued.
00:28:41
So it was an unknown primate. Imagine that actual doctors
00:28:46
talking about this stuff just really makes it like, do you
00:28:50
want more proof? I don't know.
00:28:51
You want pictures that that's going to get more difficult with
00:28:54
AI and videos and they're going to see that you're going to be
00:28:56
like, oh, it's just AI skeptics win.
00:29:01
Jeez. So now when you look at, you
00:29:03
know, what happened with the first sighting with the bizarre
00:29:06
rope and the strange sounds, hear about this and then we hear
00:29:10
read the experience with a call and there's thousands of other
00:29:15
accounts out there about the existence of Sasquatch.
00:29:20
Really makes you wonder, is there something living out there
00:29:24
that we are not aware of? And can we keep denying all of
00:29:30
these accounts that keep coming forward, like all these accounts
00:29:33
that keep hearing from people who come forward and tell us,
00:29:35
hey, you know what? I saw this thing and I freaked
00:29:37
down and I ran away. I peed myself.
00:29:39
I almost pooped myself as I was running back.
00:29:42
Why would they do that, right? Like, why would they make that
00:29:45
up? Is it they want to be famous?
00:29:46
Like, is that what they want? Because I don't see a lot of
00:29:50
people who get famous off of that, except for those people
00:29:53
who do a lot of those conferences who might sell books
00:29:56
and stuff. But a lot of these people, a lot
00:29:58
of these accounts aren't like that.
00:29:59
Like they're generally people just talking about what they
00:30:02
experience. And they say, hey, if you want
00:30:04
to believe me, believe me. And then other people say, hey,
00:30:07
I thought I was doing crazy. This is what I heard too.
00:30:10
And they understand bear calls and elk and all these other
00:30:13
animals, right? So really makes you wonder, what
00:30:16
do you think? Is there something else out
00:30:19
there that's living in the woods, in the caves, in the
00:30:22
darkness in between the trees that we don't know?
00:30:29
So let's go back to some of the comments that we got from or a
00:30:32
couple episodes ago on the episode on the wax figure who
00:30:36
turned out to be a dead man. The story of Elmer McCurdy.
00:30:41
Is that his name? Jeez that would suck if I forgot
00:30:44
his name. This one Roxy Bruzek says.
00:30:49
Nice to see you here on Paranormal Club.
00:30:51
Thanks a lot for the comment. Here we go.
00:30:53
It says depending on where the the fingers were broken, most
00:30:56
probably at the joints. If someone did not know that the
00:30:59
bone on the inside of the joint looks like it might have been
00:31:02
emitted and repaired with fake wax nails.
00:31:05
The the comment here is about me asking because there was this
00:31:10
wax figure who was actually an actual corpse and some of the
00:31:13
tips of the fingers and the ears were breaking off.
00:31:16
And my question was, wouldn't people know that if the fingers
00:31:21
are breaking off, wouldn't you know that it's a real finger and
00:31:23
like it's a real real flesh inside?
00:31:26
What was replying to his? Also ears do not contain bone
00:31:30
but cartilage, a different type of tissue altogether.
00:31:33
So perhaps someone thought it was of some sort of plastic like
00:31:36
elastic material. Still, it takes remarkable
00:31:39
effort of not caring at all to miss it for so many years.
00:31:44
I think this is the comment that really brings it home for me.
00:31:46
Because this was a real life corpse that was being taken all
00:31:51
over the United States because they were thinking it was a wax
00:31:54
figure. So it was even used as a prop
00:31:56
for a movie. And like, all these, you know,
00:31:58
as a they were hanging on, man, one of those laugh in the dark,
00:32:02
right? It was very irresponsible, I
00:32:05
feel. But then again, who would know?
00:32:07
Like, who would even be thinking that, hey, yeah, these wax
00:32:09
figures might actually be a real thing.
00:32:12
Plus, aren't they supposed to be made to look real?
00:32:16
So I kind of understand. It's still kind of as shocking
00:32:21
how the comic continues. What shocks me even more is that
00:32:23
the body was so well preserved that it did not start rotting,
00:32:26
despite being stored for such a long time in some forsaken
00:32:29
warehouse, probably with a lot of humidity.
00:32:31
Yeah, You know what? At least the undertaker that
00:32:33
took him at first, the one that charged a nickel to to be able
00:32:37
to go see the outlaw who couldn't be caught or something
00:32:43
like that. He did a good job with those
00:32:47
embalming things. Now we find those things really
00:32:51
toxic, right? Something like that.
00:32:52
That's what they don't. That's why they don't use that
00:32:54
anymore. And then another comment here
00:32:57
from that one says, Edwin, I recently watched the horror
00:32:59
movie in Kantat on Netflix. And I really like the idea of an
00:33:02
entity that the more you know about, the more it affects you.
00:33:07
I love to see a story on your other podcast, Scary Story
00:33:10
podcast on that, the story of an entity that the more you learn
00:33:15
about it, the more it affects you.
00:33:16
Now that's a good, that's a good idea.
00:33:20
I like that. Queenie GAO, thank you so much
00:33:22
for that. Ben Dazzle says go back to my
00:33:25
last comment on the silhouette. Remember clearly it was very
00:33:28
dark. I know for certain someone was
00:33:30
watching me till this day. My wife said it wasn't her.
00:33:33
She explained something to me that was unusual.
00:33:36
She's Oh, by the way, this comment is about this experience
00:33:40
that Ben Dazzle had. Say they were in the room, they
00:33:44
happened to see the wife walk by or peek out from the door or
00:33:48
something like that. Turns out the wife was not
00:33:51
there. It was not the wife, the comic
00:33:54
continues. She explained something to me
00:33:56
that was unusual. She said her grandmother had
00:33:58
said that when you sleep, your body, your spirit, rises and
00:34:01
roams around, and it's why you shouldn't wake anyone from their
00:34:05
sleep. It's chilling to think, but I
00:34:08
know what I saw. Imagine that sleeping and you
00:34:14
see, you know what? What?
00:34:16
What's really creepy, Even as I think I did a short story about
00:34:19
this once, is you're sleeping, your wife is next to you.
00:34:24
She reaches out to hug you and she's like really cold.
00:34:29
And then your wife comes in and you turn around.
00:34:32
There's no one there. I got chilled.
00:34:36
OK, goodness. I don't know what's so creepy
00:34:41
about that scene. That is just like, OK, anyway,
00:34:48
Mia's the bomb says OK. The last story is like, how do
00:34:51
some people will have their loved ones in bond and have a
00:34:55
funeral party with the bodies? Different cultures have their
00:34:58
ways of celebrating life and death.
00:35:00
And I'm sorry, but that would freak me out.
00:35:03
And you know what? Yeah, it's a little, it's a
00:35:05
little strange how how come and how normal it is for us to have
00:35:10
to see a, a person's body. It's normal for us, but I do
00:35:18
find it a little strange that we go and we see some like I used
00:35:22
to think, I don't know if this is a real purpose, but I mean, I
00:35:25
used to think that we would go and see a person's body to make
00:35:29
sure that they're dead. Like to go see them and be like,
00:35:31
OK, that is them. They are dead.
00:35:34
Now. I don't know what it is 'cause
00:35:36
like my mom is, does not like funerals and does not like
00:35:40
wastes and all that stuff. Like she, she doesn't, she
00:35:43
doesn't like that because she says that she doesn't want those
00:35:46
memories to be the last ones that she remembers of the
00:35:48
person. Like then again, like I kind of
00:35:52
understand the whole memorial thing now, you know, I feel like
00:35:57
the, the event that really brings people together to, to,
00:36:01
and it's just for one person that passed away.
00:36:04
It really makes it, it makes something special, but still a
00:36:06
little it's a little odd when you when other cultures that do
00:36:10
completely different things for the dead and how they they take
00:36:14
care of the dead to hear about that.
00:36:16
It is a little little strange. I mean, we have to think of
00:36:19
think of it both ways, right? Like we think some of the some
00:36:22
other countries have some weird ways of the dealing with the
00:36:24
dead, but they might think the same for us.
00:36:27
So here's why we got to watch out for what we like, what we
00:36:31
think and our biases and stuff piases.
00:36:33
I don't know how you say that, but Murdoch says fun fact about
00:36:38
him. One of the creators of he man
00:36:41
said he saw his body in the fun house and the way his face
00:36:45
looked like inspired Skeletor. What I got to look this out.
00:36:50
This is really cool. Wow, Elmer, lucky guy kind of
00:37:00
sucks that you had like a really crappy like life sucks you
00:37:03
couldn't become a better criminal, but your body had some
00:37:10
success. Sounds kind of messed up, but I
00:37:14
mean, it did. Jordan Eckhart says stories that
00:37:17
can happen but didn't that'd be like the show fact or fiction.
00:37:20
At least that's how it sounds. I was asking.
00:37:23
Yeah, thanks a lot Jordan, for for that too.
00:37:26
I was asking if like if you would be interested in hearing
00:37:30
fiction stories, like stories that, but fiction.
00:37:32
I mean, like, it's not like, oh, there was a monster that stuck
00:37:35
his hand. The hand started floating above
00:37:37
me and it grabbed my hair, my ear, and it took me up to the
00:37:42
ceiling. And I woke up and I plucked down
00:37:44
to my bed, right? Not like that.
00:37:46
Think of a story that like I was in, I was at home, heard a
00:37:50
strange sound, went to see what it was, kind of heard some
00:37:55
clicking. I immediately ran to make sure
00:37:58
that my mom's dolls were still there.
00:38:00
Like it could happen. You know what I mean?
00:38:02
Like it's like one of those stories that it's, it's there's
00:38:04
no monsters or vampires or things like that, but there is
00:38:07
that real factor to it. That's what I mean by like story
00:38:09
that could happen but didn't happen.
00:38:14
Creepypastas. Think of it as a creepypasta.
00:38:16
It says also, hi, first time commenting.
00:38:18
Been listening to all your podcasts on my 35 minute ride to
00:38:21
and from work. Keeps me company.
00:38:22
And I love to hear your voice. Ha, ha.
00:38:24
Thanks a lot, Jordan. And yeah, you know what?
00:38:26
I hope some people have been saying that they fall asleep to
00:38:29
the voice. I hope you don't fall asleep
00:38:31
while you're driving if you're listening, because there'll be
00:38:34
more like, I don't know. But yeah, this is one of those
00:38:40
things that we get a lot of comments on.
00:38:42
So it's super cool that you like that, that you like the the
00:38:46
voice, the the secret voice. Some people never, never, never
00:38:50
seen video or anything. They just hear, hear the stories
00:38:53
and they want to keep the mystery alive.
00:38:54
So that's cool. Thanks a lot.
00:38:57
By the way, Leslie 010 says I really love where this podcast
00:39:01
is going. I would love to hear more
00:39:03
stories on asylums. I feel like those get overlooked
00:39:06
too much. You know what, you would think
00:39:09
that there's a lot of stories on asylums, but there aren't a lot
00:39:13
of stories that are. I mean, there's not a lot of
00:39:16
records on asylums because some of them got, they were very
00:39:21
secretive. But now, now, I guess we were
00:39:23
able to find a lot of through other means and not directly
00:39:26
through the actual asylums. I had some information.
00:39:29
So if there's a particular one nearby, like where you live or
00:39:34
like in a state where you are or something, or something that
00:39:36
you've heard, let me know because those are very,
00:39:39
sometimes very tragic stories, but they're really eerie.
00:39:42
Really, really creepy. Francesca says.
00:39:44
Edwin, you're stopping by to say thank you so much for your hard
00:39:47
work and keeping us all entertained.
00:39:48
I hope you and your family have a beautiful holiday.
00:39:51
Thank you so much, Francesca. Yeah, actually, I think now when
00:39:57
I see, when I think of the holidays and Christmas and, and,
00:40:01
and everything that that we celebrate here, I see it in a
00:40:03
completely different way. I feel like it's something that
00:40:06
before I used to be like, ah, the holidays, consumerism.
00:40:09
But now I'm like, you know what, this is time for family, for
00:40:11
your friends, for keeping in touch.
00:40:14
And there's the generally a cool feeling about it.
00:40:17
Also you get to take a break from work and stuff.
00:40:19
So that's really cool. Some of us.
00:40:20
Some of us do. Bumpkin, 04, says dude was able
00:40:24
to travel around and safely for free only after his passing.
00:40:28
I, I feel so bad for Elmer, man. Like this guy, he got to, he got
00:40:33
to live a performer's life and make money for other people
00:40:37
after he died. And we'll say Steezy says.
00:40:41
I'm loving these continuous uploads, man.
00:40:43
Keep it up. You keep me entertained while
00:40:45
working. You guys are lucky.
00:40:46
You get to listen to stuff while you're working.
00:40:48
When I was working, I got, you know, place I used to work at
00:40:52
Amazon, I used to work at Taco Bell, used to work at places
00:40:54
like that and also like an office, office kind of work.
00:40:57
And I was never allowed to listen to to podcast.
00:41:00
I guess podcasts weren't really that common, I guess back then.
00:41:04
And that is all we got from that episode.
00:41:08
Let me see if we got any on YouTube.
00:41:10
And now from some of the comments from YouTube, we have
00:41:12
one from Michelle. Michelle or MC Kelly.
00:41:16
Surprised face. You find the best stories.
00:41:18
Boy, this corpse sure got around crazy.
00:41:20
He's lasted as long as he did, even with the embalming being so
00:41:23
exposed. There's pictures of him online
00:41:26
in a stand up casket. Heck yeah.
00:41:28
Wax figures totally creep me out.
00:41:30
By the way, regarding the waxy look after death, a Hospice
00:41:32
nurse said that was very common. See.
00:41:35
Like literally give me chills right now.
00:41:39
The waxy look of dead people. Oh, and there are pictures of
00:41:46
Elmer McCurdy. Is that his name?
00:41:48
I forgot. It's been a little bit of him.
00:41:53
He looks like he's just standing up next to his corpse.
00:41:56
This is, oh, I mean, next to his corpse in his coffin.
00:42:00
And he's a corpse. Let me see things a lot.
00:42:04
By the way, for the comment, Google glamour shop says yeah.
00:42:07
Hello, Spooky. Thanks for all the great
00:42:09
stories. Thank you.
00:42:10
Thank you for listening. J stuff 6480 says thanks for the
00:42:14
dope episode, homie. No problem.
00:42:16
Thanks a lot for for watching. This is super cool.
00:42:20
And yeah, you know, like the other comment said about how the
00:42:22
podcast is going, it's growing. It's growing pretty well.
00:42:25
Like it's it's it has a steady up up for trend.
00:42:28

00:42:34
