Ghosts of the Haunted Tower of London

Ghosts of the Haunted Tower of London

What was the first ghost story you remember? For me, it was the ghosts of the Tower of London like the white lady, the ghost monks, and the headless ghost of Anne Boelyn.

And recently, I got the chance to go there (just the outside though), and got to learn more about the many ghosts of London.

00:00:00
There comes a time in every paranormal podcast where we have

00:00:04
to talk about haunted locations, and you can't talk about haunted

00:00:07
locations without visiting one of the most haunted places on

00:00:11
the planet. I'm talking about the Tower of

00:00:14
London. It actually involved the very

00:00:15
first ghost story I ever heard in my life.

00:00:19
You ready? My name is Edwin and this is

00:00:22
Paranormal Club. So this is actually what I am

00:00:32
most excited about here in London.

00:00:35
This is why I made the walk down the the canal is to check this

00:00:40
out. It's not that impressive if

00:00:42
you're watching for me, the single, but it's a Tower of

00:00:46
London and it's probably the most haunted place in all of

00:00:52
England. And I'm actually standing right

00:00:56
here by the by the London, the the Tower Bridge.

00:01:00
But this was the one of the very first places that I remember

00:01:05
finding that, you know, was real and I saw pictures of and this

00:01:09
is a castle, like a real life castle.

00:01:11
And I saw it in this book. Like I don't even want to call

00:01:14
it a book. It was like the size of a

00:01:15
magazine. It was so thin, but it was so

00:01:17
cool. And I used to read it over and I

00:01:18
still have that. It was just called like ghosts

00:01:21
or true, true ghosts, something like that.

00:01:24
But it told stories of the white Lady, the monk, you know, that

00:01:29
that was one of them. There's also the story of Anne,

00:01:33
who was beheaded and her head was displayed.

00:01:36
You know, it was like, oh, they did so much stuff.

00:01:39
Oh, it was, it was terrible. It was terrible, terrible death.

00:01:42
And there was also the stories of the Princess, like Prince,

00:01:47
plural, and how they roam around.

00:01:50
Also, the bloody Tower. You hear all these stories about

00:01:53
the Tower of London and it's such a bizarre thing to think

00:01:57
about how all these things I learned about when I was a kid.

00:02:00
It is so strange how some of these are still stories that we

00:02:05
probably all know and have no idea that they come from here.

00:02:11
So I'll with the good mic, I'm gonna do some voice over as I

00:02:16
roam around the Tower of London and tell you some stories about

00:02:21
the place back in. I will tell you what, a month

00:02:24
ago, maybe a little bit longer, I got the chance to go to this

00:02:27
podcast conference in London. It's called the podcast show.

00:02:30
Very creative name actually. Why the podcast show?

00:02:33
I don't know, but it turned out to be.

00:02:36
It's one of those places where like you go and you learn about

00:02:39
what podcasters are doing. You see what companies are out

00:02:43
there offering things for podcasters and for podcasting

00:02:47
and you get to meet with people from Apple podcast and Spotify

00:02:51
and all of them. I actually ended up showing up

00:02:53
with the hope that I'd be able to visit one of these places

00:02:57
that are really haunted, right? You have some beautiful

00:02:59
cemeteries out there. They don't allow a lot of like

00:03:03
recording for paranormal purposes, like, you know, for

00:03:05
for entertainment purposes. They do allow it for, you know,

00:03:09
if you're out there to make a documentary of some sort, some

00:03:11
historical thing. But we're talking about, hey,

00:03:14
I'm, I talk about ghosts on my podcast.

00:03:17
They don't allow it. When I was seven years old,

00:03:21
seven or eight, I got the chance to learn about the Lady in White

00:03:26
or the White Lady, this ghost who had been seen by guards at

00:03:30
this place called the Tower of London.

00:03:34
At the time, I had no idea that this was a real place, right?

00:03:36
I thought it was just a castle and I I learned about it and I

00:03:41
was like this is this is insane. Then I learned about why this

00:03:45
place had ghosts in it Turns out people had been killed there at

00:03:52
that castle thing that the tower, right?

00:03:55
That is really ominous picture of it.

00:03:57
I remember it very clearly. It was like this orangey yellow

00:04:00
glow of a picture looking up at one of the towers at this tower

00:04:05
towers like it's just like four corners.

00:04:07
I don't know. They had different names for the

00:04:09
for the place, for the different corners of the things that are

00:04:13
little towers anyway. So I'm learning about this and

00:04:16
I'm learning about how people lost their lives like that, how

00:04:19
they were killed there. And then I remember thinking,

00:04:24
wow, so people can just kill others like that.

00:04:27
And then it's it's like nothing. I just thought it was so bizarre

00:04:31
to think that First off that I was thinking of this at that

00:04:35
age, right? I'm like, wow, so life kind of

00:04:38
has no value to them or had no value back then because you can

00:04:42
just say, Hey, you did this wrong.

00:04:43
I was going to kill you. And then they would just kill

00:04:45
them and people would gather around and watch everybody gets

00:04:47
like watch somebody get their head chopped off.

00:04:50
I thought it was bizarre to think about.

00:04:52
And I, I learned a few stories about there, around there,

00:04:56
right? But the names were so confusing.

00:04:58
I'm saying so many Henry's and Edwards and Mary's.

00:05:01
There's actually 2 married tutors you have to like specify

00:05:06
which one you're talking about. It was I guess they weren't very

00:05:09
creative with it. So doing my research to find

00:05:12
information about ghost is the only way I actually became

00:05:15
interested in learning about crazy things that they did for

00:05:20
protection of their own kingdoms or their Kingdom.

00:05:24
So I'm going to go through some of the stories that I learned

00:05:27
right. So I will go through like 3 main

00:05:30
ones that I know for sure are, I guess the most famous ones.

00:05:34
Actually, one of them is the most famous 1 Anne Boleyn.

00:05:37
But the other one's really tragic.

00:05:38
And obviously you guys know, I, I love really sad stories.

00:05:42
So we're going to go through that one too.

00:05:44
So let's get started with the very, very first thing, right,

00:05:47
which is the very first sighting of a ghost at the Tower of

00:05:51
London. There was this guy, his name was

00:05:54
Thomas a Becket. And he was smart, charismatic.

00:05:58
He was like kind of close to the, you know, to the king that

00:06:02
this time is King the second, King Henry the second.

00:06:05
And he was very, I don't know, he kind of worked his way up to

00:06:10
chancellor of England and eventually, you know, they were

00:06:14
he, they were saying that, you know, he, he was like they had a

00:06:17
bromance with the, the King, you know, the King Henry the second

00:06:20
because he was so close. They're always hanging out.

00:06:22
They were friends, right? Eventually they're like, you

00:06:24
know what, we're going to make you Archbishop of Canterbury and

00:06:29
they, they turn them into that. And the hope that the king was

00:06:33
hoping is that, hey, I'm going to put you in this position.

00:06:36
And what you're going to do is you're going to help me like

00:06:40
connect the 2. So like we want to pick who's

00:06:43
next in the church, like to lead this, like to head the, the

00:06:46
church. And that way, you know, the the

00:06:50
crown stays in power. He didn't know this at the time,

00:06:54
right when he was assigned this, when Thomas was was assigned

00:06:57
this. And he eventually ended up like

00:07:00
he changed his mind when he got close to to religion.

00:07:04
He gave up his wealth. He just kind of lived, you know,

00:07:07
just a different life. Like he didn't want to be part

00:07:11
of that anymore. And King Henry the Second was

00:07:14
like, I'm not having this. He did not like that because he

00:07:17
wanted to unify. Like he wanted to say, you know,

00:07:20
obviously people believe in the church, right, Lady?

00:07:22
The church had all the power or a lot of the power.

00:07:25
And the king wanted to be able to assign who's going to head

00:07:28
those things based on his own agenda.

00:07:31
It's kind of like, you know, what kings do.

00:07:37
And he ended up the the, you know, Thomas was like, yeah, I'm

00:07:41
not going to do that. So they got into kind of an

00:07:43
argument. So he ended up leaving.

00:07:45
Like Thomas A Becket ended up leaving at this time.

00:07:48
He's an Archbishop, and he went to France.

00:07:51
He was like, people are going to kill me if I stay in England, so

00:07:54
I better leave. So he left.

00:07:56
And when he was gone, they're trying to make amends, you know,

00:07:59
to come back, like, come back to England, like, it's going to be

00:08:02
cool. So they do eventually make

00:08:04
amends. They're like, OK, you know what?

00:08:05
We're going to do this. Just come back turns out when he

00:08:10
he actually moves back to England.

00:08:11
This is I'm going to look up some of the dates here because

00:08:13
it gets kind of confusing, but I came back in 11 the year 1170

00:08:19
right, so this is way, way, way back in the day, right.

00:08:22
He comes back to England and he gets murdered by a group of

00:08:26
people and he gets he gets murdered right there at the

00:08:28
Canterbury Cathedral. It was terrible, like it was

00:08:31
gruesome, like people saw it like not to be too graphic here,

00:08:36
but like his skull was like they just hit him with swords and

00:08:40
stuff and people wash him. They're like, Oh my goodness,

00:08:42
like this guy like that sucks, right, All because he wanted to

00:08:47
defend the power of the church against the crown.

00:08:51
So turn out turn into this this whole big deal, right, because

00:08:56
that's when you kind of start discovering that the powers at

00:09:00
least the crown that like they're willing to go that far

00:09:03
to stay in power, right. So eventually he was, he was

00:09:08
kind of nice as the St. in 1173 and in the year so 1170.

00:09:13
So this is what, 70 years after that, the year 1240 is when his

00:09:20
ghost gets seen, his, it gets spotted.

00:09:23
Now it's kind of like a legend, right?

00:09:25
Because when they're building the part of the certain part of

00:09:28
the, the, the tower and then part of it just collapsed.

00:09:33
Then he just collapsed. The legend says that the ghost

00:09:36
appeared and with his cross, like, he hid it and destroyed

00:09:40
it. So they kept seeing these

00:09:43
apparitions around, and they were saying that it was him.

00:09:46
So they eventually built a Chapel in his name to kind of

00:09:50
stop the disturbances. And supposedly it worked.

00:09:53
But this is the very first like documented thing of a ghost

00:09:56
sighting at the Tower of London, which I felt was, you know,

00:09:58
important to note here because this is that old and it's, you

00:10:02
know, it starts getting creepy back then.

00:10:06
Now the tower itself is pretty old, like as in it was built

00:10:09
what it was built by William the Conqueror starting to build in

00:10:12
the year 1066, right? So we're talking almost 1000

00:10:18
years ago, like a long time ago. And it was built mainly to say,

00:10:23
like for him to say, OK, now I'm going to solidify my power here

00:10:26
as a king. I am the king of England and it

00:10:28
was supposed to be his house. And I guess like the the center

00:10:32
of like London, like the, the like a fortress, like the place

00:10:35
where this is where the king lives and this is where we do

00:10:38
our business, right? Eventually turn into a prison,

00:10:42
turn into an execution hall kind of thing, into a zoo.

00:10:47
Like I had wild animals there at one point.

00:10:50
And also where they store the crown jewels.

00:10:54
And I mean not, not not to be found strange or anything too,

00:10:59
but like they also made the money there.

00:11:01
Like it was like a multi purpose government building.

00:11:05
You know, it turned into a, a whole just like the center of it

00:11:09
all. And if you look at the thing,

00:11:11
it's like kind of like it imposes like this authority.

00:11:15
When you see it, you're like, it's right by the river, but you

00:11:17
look at it and you're like, whoa, right.

00:11:19
I spotted this right away when I was there.

00:11:22
There was no, I was going to miss it.

00:11:23
Like I said, I knew it was, it was like, wow, that's Tower of

00:11:25
London, you know, because it's, I recognize that picture from

00:11:28
when I was little. And that's when I realized like,

00:11:31
whoa, I don't know a lot of the history of this, this place.

00:11:34
I just know of the, you know, the ghost stories.

00:11:37
So anyway, it's a super, super old building.

00:11:39
That's my point, right? And there's some facts here

00:11:42
about that place that I found that it turned into a World

00:11:47
World Heritage Site in 1988 and that its most famous structure

00:11:51
is the White Tower, which is central keep built around 1078.

00:11:59
That's a really long time ago. And there's a list of ghosts

00:12:03
here that go there, right? But we're going to start with,

00:12:06
you already heard the Thomas said Beckett 1.

00:12:07
So we're going to go with Anne Boleyn, which is the most famous

00:12:11
ghost story from there, the one that I heard over and over

00:12:14
again. And I was looking up ghosts of

00:12:16
London and it's a pretty sad story, right?

00:12:19
So this is the times of King Henry the Eighth back then, you

00:12:26
know, there was the King's ladies.

00:12:27
I don't know if that's a formal word for it, but King Henry the

00:12:31
eighth was, was married, but his wife was not giving him a son.

00:12:36
So he was like, you know what, I'm in a divorce.

00:12:39
And he came up with a whole bunch of reasons.

00:12:41
He was like, turns out I can't we can't be together because of

00:12:44
this, because you did this. And also because like one of the

00:12:48
things I think was it was also his like his older brother's

00:12:53
ex-wife or something. So like eventually they got

00:12:57
divorced. Next in line was Anne Boleyn,

00:13:00
right? Because King Henry the Eighth

00:13:03
was like, oh, who's that, right? He really liked her.

00:13:06
And it all started like a love story.

00:13:07
He's like giving her a tour of the tower.

00:13:10
He was like, like, check this out, This is where you're going

00:13:12
to be. Give her gifts.

00:13:14
Like the whole thing was like this, wow.

00:13:17
Like everybody's happy, right? Like you're making it happen

00:13:20
here. But that was short lived, right?

00:13:24
Because she wasn't able to give him a son either, but he she did

00:13:29
give birth to Elizabeth the first, right.

00:13:33
So this is she was a very important figure later on.

00:13:36
The confusion here was and and this is this is bizarre, right?

00:13:40
Because they just said, you know what?

00:13:43
You can't give me a son. But eventually they said you

00:13:46
cheated on me. You are.

00:13:49
They just came up with a bunch of reasons, not really anything

00:13:52
that was like justified. And the court was like

00:13:54
everything was rigged and they were going to just OK, sure,

00:13:57
yeah, let's you're traitor like of treason too.

00:14:00
And they ended up wanting to kill her.

00:14:03
So she's like, all right. And she gets she gets sent to

00:14:07
trial and she gets executed right there at the tower.

00:14:13
Her story is pretty it's pretty dark as is because it was

00:14:18
literally just because of that like for just not supposedly not

00:14:23
giving her him a son. However, some of the theories

00:14:26
here go she was like very smart and she was very like powerful.

00:14:32
He just didn't like a powerful woman, you know, so she got

00:14:36
killed Now what happened after that is all the ghost sightings.

00:14:42
Now, this is the part where the guards of the tower come in.

00:14:48
And I'm saying, you know, the, the people that are, you know,

00:14:52
dressed in the red jackets, they, you know, they do the

00:14:56
rounds, they walk around at the tower, they make sure everything

00:14:58
is running, but they also run. They also work there at night,

00:15:02
right? So they're aware of all these

00:15:03
things they see there. And one of the things was that

00:15:08
one night they spotted the one of the guards saw this light

00:15:14
kind of flickering inside of the tower.

00:15:17
It's like, that's weird. So kind of peeked over the

00:15:20
window and he saw what looked like this formal dance, like all

00:15:24
these people in old fashioned clothing go going around like

00:15:29
kind of kind of parading in there and heading The whole

00:15:34
thing was what appeared to be Anne Boleyn, except she was

00:15:39
without her head. The guard was like, really

00:15:43
traumatized, going what am I watching?

00:15:46
And eventually just found himself staring into this dark

00:15:49
room inside. He was he was upset over that

00:15:54
this happened in 1864. But he was upset over that just

00:15:57
like this other guard who also happened to see a ghost figure

00:16:03
turning out, you know, saying that it was Anne Boleyn.

00:16:06
And he quit. He was like, I'm not going to be

00:16:09
here anymore. And it just this happened in

00:16:11
1957. By the way, this this other

00:16:13
guard who saw the headless ghost.

00:16:15
So these are pretty brutal and really horror like you can

00:16:23
actually visualize like the actual fear like Halloween style

00:16:28
of fear when it comes to these types of ghosts.

00:16:29
Like there aren't just like spirits that show up like these

00:16:32
are headless people dressed up in like old fashioned clothing

00:16:36
who literally lived in a like a tower or were in prison there.

00:16:40
So they had chains sometimes the most like creepy thing you can

00:16:45
imagine when it comes to natural gold story.

00:16:49
That's why we get stories like Bloody Mary coming out of there

00:16:52
and stuff. There's another one here that I

00:16:53
found that says a guard believed he saw Anne Boleyn walking by as

00:16:57
a figure in white. He attempted to strike her with

00:16:59
his bayonet only for it to pass through her.

00:17:04
This is after he warned her like stop right there.

00:17:08
Like stop right there. And he stabbed and it just kept

00:17:10
going. So he's, you know, he finally,

00:17:12
it just went right through and he was so freaked out that he

00:17:15
fainted. Story goes that they found the

00:17:19
guard and they thought that he was, he had been drunk and, or,

00:17:23
or asleep at the job. And then he explained that.

00:17:26
And then they were like, what? Really?

00:17:28
And other guards came forth and they're like, yeah, we've seen

00:17:30
the same thing too. And we, it's really scary.

00:17:32
And they actually, and then like an official kind of setting,

00:17:37
they said, all right, fine. And they just forgave him.

00:17:39
They said, fine, you can continue your duties.

00:17:43
I mean, I'm not sure why you would want to continue those

00:17:45
duties. Maybe the pay was, well, it was

00:17:47
good, but he did so. So imagine that the ghost was a

00:17:50
reason for him to keep his job. And this actually, it says right

00:17:53
here that this is one of the most famous sightings, actually,

00:17:56
because it involved Major General JD Dundas, who was

00:17:59
overseeing the 60th Rifles. It was quartered at the tower at

00:18:04
the time. So yeah, that's poor Anne

00:18:11
Boleyn. Feel like it's a sad story,

00:18:15
right? But there's even a sadder 1.

00:18:19
And this one is from Lady Jane Grey, part of the nobility in

00:18:25
England. And she, she was very smart.

00:18:29
Some say that she spoke like 8 languages.

00:18:31
She liked to read. She was, she was just generally

00:18:36
smart person like she I think she her, her family has no sons

00:18:39
like her. Her parents didn't have any

00:18:41
sons. Those were the generally the

00:18:42
ones that were sent to school, right?

00:18:45
But she ended up going to school instead.

00:18:47
She learned all this stuff. She loved reading, She loved all

00:18:50
that kind of thing. And she was kind of mixed as it

00:18:54
is where I was getting a little shaky like this where it gets

00:18:57
confusing, right? So and and even spilling out

00:18:59
just a bunch of facts would probably confuse you too, unless

00:19:02
you're into all this kind of stuff about, you know, Crown

00:19:06
stories. If we follow all those things

00:19:07
now maybe. But back then, you see, she had.

00:19:11
OK, so they have a way that they choose who's going to be king or

00:19:15
queen next. Like, they have a line of

00:19:17
secession. Like, they know who's going to

00:19:18
follow who. And she was supposed to be like,

00:19:24
she was somewhere in line, but she was like, so far away from

00:19:27
it that she's like, not even worried about.

00:19:29
She didn't want to lead. Like, she didn't want to to be

00:19:32
queen, but eventually king. I think it was one of the young,

00:19:37
young kings, King Edward, not sure which number that was that

00:19:42
was from him, but he in his will, he said she's going to be

00:19:48
the next one, skipping two people like 2, two women in in

00:19:53
the process here. It was going to lead to some

00:19:55
problem, like some some serious issues with with them because

00:19:59
it's like people wanted this right and she didn't want it and

00:20:02
they were just giving it to her because she's supposed to be

00:20:04
queen. So, and also religion had a

00:20:07
thing to do with it, right, between Protestants and

00:20:09
Catholics. So she was certainly, I think

00:20:11
she was Protestant. They wanted the Protestant to

00:20:14
stay there, didn't want the Catholic queen to take play like

00:20:18
to take the throne. So she was given like the, the

00:20:23
throne. And she was young at the time,

00:20:25
right? I think she was 16 and she she

00:20:30
didn't want it, but they, they forced her and she was like, OK,

00:20:32
fine. And the reason why she was

00:20:34
pressured into it also is because the, I guess her

00:20:38
father-in-law, future father-in-law wanted his son to

00:20:44
be a king. Very confusing.

00:20:47
So when she when Lady Jane Grey became queen, she the husband or

00:20:54
the new, the other new husband was like, hey, so make me king

00:20:57
now. Like make me king.

00:20:58
She's like, no, we're not going to do that.

00:21:01
I'm going to make you Duke If you, if you're cool with that.

00:21:05
Everybody was like offended, right?

00:21:06
It was like, how can you, why would you do that or whatever.

00:21:09
She was only queen for like 9 days because there was a there's

00:21:14
a problem with, with you know, who ended up being queen and

00:21:18
like why they chose her instead of who was supposed to be like

00:21:21
the rightful bloodline next queen.

00:21:25
So who the person who was supposed to be the queen next

00:21:28
showed up and she was, she happened to be Queen Mary, the

00:21:31
first Bloody Mary. She was like, you know what?

00:21:37
We are gonna not find you guilty.

00:21:40
Like you didn't even want this in the 1st place.

00:21:41
Let's just let's just let it go. She's like very cool.

00:21:46
Turns out, though, that her father was leading like a

00:21:51
rebellion for all this for, you know, for for this queen and she

00:22:00
and Lady Jane Grey kind of fell into that, you know, that batch

00:22:04
of people who they're going to kill.

00:22:05
So they killed her husband, her like new husband, they killed

00:22:08
her. They killed her father like they

00:22:10
turned into just like it was normal for them.

00:22:12
I don't know, to me, thinking about this stuff is like how

00:22:16
what? Either way, like she was, she

00:22:18
was supposed to be killed. So she was killed.

00:22:21
Now they say that her ghost roams around Tower of London.

00:22:28
Some say that it's without her head, others say it's just like

00:22:31
this lady in white circling around.

00:22:34
And they say that her spectral figure appears on or near the

00:22:40
anniversary of her death, which is February 12th and dressed in

00:22:44
a long white or grey gown. And garden tourist have said

00:22:50
that they see this pale young woman silently walking before

00:22:54
them and then fading into the mist, very misty.

00:22:58
In England, some people mention that they see, see her in the

00:23:03
salt tower, which is is associated with where she was

00:23:07
imprisoned, right? While they were figuring all

00:23:09
this stuff out, what to do with her.

00:23:11
And they say, here's this other legend.

00:23:13
This is interesting, super short, right?

00:23:14
But I'll just tell you like the short version.

00:23:15
But basically in the 19th century, they, they this guard

00:23:20
saw this, this ghost who was weeping softly and it's said to

00:23:24
be Lady Jane Grey. It's probably I think the

00:23:28
saddest story, the saddest ghost in all of Tower of London,

00:23:33
except if you consider against the 2 Princess, which are two

00:23:37
children that were they didn't didn't want them to be selected.

00:23:41
We either wanted them to be selected as king.

00:23:43
So they ended up killing them. Though the whole thing is it's

00:23:45
really rough, but those are the three main stories of of the the

00:23:50
Tower of London. Now there's a bunch right here.

00:23:53
Here's a list of them. I already mentioned Anne Boleyn,

00:23:55
right? The headless ghost was seen in

00:23:58
Tower green in the Chapel. Also Lady Jane Grey, the one who

00:24:03
appears in her the time of her execution or the anniversary of

00:24:07
her execution. The Princess, the one I just

00:24:10
briefly mentioned. Princess like as in Prince,

00:24:14
plural. Two of them, they were brothers,

00:24:18
young Edward the 5th and Richard the third.

00:24:21
They were Now they say that there appear in the bloody tower

00:24:25
Margaret Pole. Now OK, so this one's insane,

00:24:29
right? This one that says his Countess

00:24:30
of Salisbury executed brutally in 1541.

00:24:34
Her ghost is set to relive her chaotic death.

00:24:37
Now, the reason why she had such a chaotic death, or what they

00:24:41
say a chaotic death, she was, I think she was 67 years old when

00:24:45
she was executed. And the reason why is because

00:24:48
actually her son had been accused.

00:24:54
Like he was supposed to be the one that was getting supposed to

00:24:57
get killed, but he was in Italy at the time.

00:25:01
And they're like, OK, well we're going to kill her mother, I mean

00:25:04
his mother. And they just put her up like,

00:25:09
here's the, here's the really dark part, right?

00:25:11
They, they were going to execute her and she, they were like, OK,

00:25:15
now kneel, right. And she's like, I am not a

00:25:18
traitor, so I will not do that. And they say that when she was

00:25:22
like, they were going to kill her, like the, the executioner

00:25:26
brought up the axe and was like, all right, it's your time to go.

00:25:30
But when he did that, she's, she's like started running away.

00:25:34
So he got some hits in, but like she's running, like she's

00:25:40
literally running around and the executor's behind her, like

00:25:43
trying to catch up and like kill her.

00:25:46
It turned into this bloodbath basically.

00:25:49
Eventually he caught up to her and killed like killed her, but

00:25:52
like she had already been hit. She was like trying to escape,

00:25:54
but it was brutal. It was sad.

00:25:57
Some say that is because the executioner was like this really

00:26:00
young and inexperienced and other people say that they they

00:26:04
he actually hacked at her neck and her shoulders kind of

00:26:06
missing and it wasn't working either way.

00:26:09
Either one of those ways is is pretty brutal to to die.

00:26:13
So that's the story of Margaret Pole, Sir Walter Raleigh.

00:26:16
This was another really we're going to go through all these

00:26:21
eventually, I think at some point.

00:26:23
If you guys are interested in all this stuff.

00:26:24
I already mentioned the Thomas Hay Beckett one the white lady,

00:26:26
which is just like this mystery woman, Arabella Stewart as any

00:26:32
other sad ghost. It was a a person who was stored

00:26:35
like stored imprisoned in the tower.

00:26:39
Overall, really, really, really sad, sad story in in total over

00:26:42
400 executions that's taking place there, not in the tower

00:26:48
itself, but like in the yard out out in right by there.

00:26:52
The whole thing was bizarre, A bizarre, bizarre trip to see a

00:26:57
place that has is that dark and how tourists and guards all see

00:27:02
ghosts or, you know, they have experiences with ghosts and

00:27:06
stuff. Now there are some really creepy

00:27:08
stories with tourists who go there and experience this stuff,

00:27:12
especially children, right, who have no knowledge necessarily on

00:27:17
on history and they're able to describe these situations.

00:27:21
And one kid, for example, described how he saw two young

00:27:27
boys dressed in funny clothes holding hands.

00:27:31
Those were the 2 Princess. Eventually they actually found

00:27:35
young skeleton like skeletons of young kids, basically young

00:27:39
people in the tower when they were rebuilding part of it.

00:27:43
So they actually gave them proper burial and they called

00:27:45
them the name of the Princess. So sad, sad story.

00:27:49
But here's some other facts. I mentioned that the Tower of

00:27:52
London was also a zoo and I didn't find that here.

00:27:57
Turns out for 600 years a tower house exotic animals including

00:28:01
lions, leopards, even a polar bear.

00:28:05
Wow, another interesting fact here.

00:28:09
I'm just learning this now. The beef eaters.

00:28:12
Yeoman water Warders. They serve as ceremonial guards

00:28:15
and tour guides and they live on site.

00:28:18
They're called beef eaters. Interesting, the crown jewels

00:28:22
towered houses over 23 gemstones including the Imperial

00:28:26
State crown and the Coenor diamond.

00:28:30
Noor diamond. Also the Ravens.

00:28:33
The Raven legend here. This has if the Ravens ever

00:28:36
leave the Kingdom will fall. At least 6 Ravens are always

00:28:40
kept on site with the Raven master in charge.

00:28:45
I like Ravens. I thought you couldn't have them

00:28:47
as pets. I guess there aren't pets there

00:28:49
right? But and then obviously there the

00:28:51
the torture chambers says less common than people think devices

00:28:57
like the rack and scavenger's daughter were used, especially

00:29:00
in the 16th, 16th century. I don't want to describe what

00:29:03
those things are, but like the rack is probably one of the most

00:29:05
brutal ways to torture somebody. Do you know when you stretch?

00:29:12
OK, what am I going to go into that?

00:29:13
Because I don't really like torture talk, but those are the

00:29:18
the things that were, those are the kind of things that I'm

00:29:21
talking about when I say that this tower is probably the most

00:29:24
haunted location on the planet. Imagine so much death, so much

00:29:29
tragedy, sadness and family drama that went on there.

00:29:33
I mean, I wish I would have gone inside.

00:29:37
But also I heard of people that go in there and they experience

00:29:39
these are like, yeah, this thing is, is bizarre.

00:29:42
Like it's you get, there's some vibes there, some like really

00:29:45
bad vibes that you get from there.

00:29:47
But all right, so those are the stories.

00:29:48
Those are the ghost stories. Like tell me what your first

00:29:51
ghost story, your first story in general, What was it?

00:29:53
What do you remember of it? Like, for example, as kids, we

00:29:57
learned some of the very first stories were stories like they

00:30:01
were in song, right? Mary had a little lamb, blah,

00:30:04
blah. I vividly remember singing this

00:30:09
song. I think we'll probably find it.

00:30:11
It's called Tilly the Witch. I am a witch and my name is

00:30:18
Tilly. Why would what was I learning

00:30:25
songs like that? See all my traumas are coming

00:30:28
out right here. Anyway, let's see if we can have

00:30:33
some of the comments here. And we got a lot, so we won't be

00:30:35
able to go through them all anymore, which is good that we

00:30:39
got a lot, but it's a lot to go through.

00:30:42
So what I want to do is to have like live sessions.

00:30:46
Like we can actually just show up YouTube live or whatever and

00:30:51
show up like once a week and just go through comments, go

00:30:54
through, I don't know, some other stories that didn't make

00:30:56
it to the final episode feedback, stuff like that.

00:31:00
Could be a short, you know, short thing.

00:31:02
But oh wow, look at that. I just opened up to see the

00:31:06
comments and it says we got we hit 25 streams on Spotify.

00:31:15
Congratulations. I'm I'm gonna screenshot this

00:31:19
trying to be a little extra here, but that's that's a big

00:31:22
accomplishment. Finally, an episode was posted

00:31:25
for Terroristorias Reales. By the way, listen to your

00:31:28
episode on government disappearing humans.

00:31:30
What a powerful yet motivating ending.

00:31:32
Edwin. I'm proud to be Latina and proud

00:31:34
that our community is standing together as any community

00:31:36
should. Keep up the good work.

00:31:38
Thank you so much, Kaylee. Yeah.

00:31:42
First off, the the Rorisores Reales podcast is up and

00:31:45
running. So we need stories in Spanish.

00:31:48
We need we, we got a few. We actually published 1.

00:31:52
You should be seeing one as it gets posted as well.

00:31:56
So stay tuned for more. Actually, the one that we posted

00:32:00
today is going to be also posted like the same storyteller posted

00:32:04
one in English. So we're going to hear this kind

00:32:06
of the same similar story. Moxny is, Moosnick says You have

00:32:11
a really terrifying witches. You really have terrifying

00:32:13
witches there in Mexico. I'm friends with two witches.

00:32:16
One of them comes from an old lineage of Siberian witches, but

00:32:19
they are both super nice and I guess it can be called the white

00:32:22
witches. They helped me a lot in many

00:32:23
weird situations. So I want you to know not all

00:32:26
witches are scary. Also, if you ever get fed up

00:32:28
with the US, come to Europe. We have many scary stories and

00:32:30
better cuisine. Yes, I'm actually not in the US

00:32:34
right now because of that reason.

00:32:37
I'm just kidding. You know, it's I'm traveling

00:32:39
here around Southeast Asia. But man, OK, thanks a lot.

00:32:43
I'm Roxy, Joker Boy says just came across this podcast.

00:32:47
I've been experiencing the paranormal all my life.

00:32:49
Not only ghosts or hauntings, but also stuff I've seen in the

00:32:51
sky like aliens. I'm from El Paso, TX but now

00:32:58
live in South Texas. Have stories for days.

00:33:01
This is an awesome podcast. Great job bro.

00:33:02
Keep it up and keep it scary. Also I have toys toy scary

00:33:06
stories to send in your your scary stories about toys.

00:33:09
Like I want to know like have you ever heard?

00:33:11
Did you ever have a Kirby? Is it Kirby?

00:33:14
That's Furby, not a curvy A Furby.

00:33:19
Kirby was a video game. Did you ever have Furby?

00:33:22
Because Furbies, they say that they were, you know, work of the

00:33:26
devil at some point or something.

00:33:29
Maybe I'm confusing that with, I said a hair song or something.

00:33:35
I'll get back to you guys on that.

00:33:37
Campy's Porn Shack says, oh, yeah, Brew has stories are twice

00:33:41
as terrifying as ghost stories. I like, I like Los Spookies.

00:33:45
Los Spookies. Yeah, yeah.

00:33:48
I think we're I need to check the polls actually on that.

00:33:50
We're going to check it right now.

00:33:52
Joe Jade 06 That's great episode Edwin very spooky that episode

00:33:56
by the way that I'm reading from it from the comments from are

00:33:59
from the the blue has the blue has episode.

00:34:03
Nina says how can I catch this live?

00:34:05
I so want to be interactive. Do you have a set day, set day

00:34:09
or schedule on when when you will be recording?

00:34:12
You know what that's not a bad idea to record like to stream

00:34:17
while I'm recording. We'll have to think about that

00:34:20
because it's that's actually really cool.

00:34:23
I really want to do live like I think we should just, you know,

00:34:27
do that. My daily Owl says amazing

00:34:29
episode. Paranormal Club just came as up

00:34:31
as a suggestion for me yesterday, even though I

00:34:35
listened to your other podcast and I'm glad it did.

00:34:37
There's ATV show called those Spookies.

00:34:38
Oh, there's ATV show. Damn.

00:34:42
Wow. OK, so we have a lot more

00:34:43
comments here. Let's read two more here and

00:34:47
then let me see. By the way, thanks a lot for

00:34:52
that Maria the Owl. Amanda says love your podcast.

00:34:55
I've listened to every true scary story podcast cast and I

00:34:59
just discovered Paranormal Club. You're doing a great job on

00:35:01
this. Love This podcast is actually

00:35:03
maybe my favorite. You have the perfect voice for

00:35:05
storytelling. Thanks.

00:35:08
Can't wait to hear what's to come.

00:35:09
Thank you, Amanda. And then Eve Alarcon says, yeah,

00:35:14
I'm glad a lot of people are liking Los.

00:35:15
Spooky suggestion. Happy to be a part of Paranormal

00:35:18
Club history. Can't wait for many more

00:35:19
episodes, man OK, OK and we have more comments on here, but we

00:35:24
just can't get through them now, but I did I will reply to the

00:35:29
ones that I didn't get the chance to mention on here.

00:35:31
I'll I think I replied to a few on here, but super cool.

00:35:36
Thank you so much for the comments because yeah, we were

00:35:39
taking a, a bit like a pretty long time with reading the

00:35:42
comments and everything, but but anyway, all right, so make sure

00:35:49
you catch catch this podcast again next week.

00:35:51
So make sure if you're not following the show just yet, tap

00:35:54
the follow button. If you're watching us on

00:35:56
YouTube, we're going to have a new YouTube channel for this

00:35:59
specific podcast. So we're messing up the

00:36:01
algorithm. Makes sense, I guess.

00:36:03
So you're going to be able to find this over on I'll link to

00:36:06
it.youtube.com/whatever the link is.

00:36:08
And then you can find Paranormal Club right there from now on.

00:36:14

00:36:18
manage that. But anyway, that's all for this

00:36:23

00:36:26
See you soon.
