Haunted Places We Remember (Listener Submissions #3)

Haunted Places We Remember (Listener Submissions #3)

Our first story was submitted by Sunny, where she witnesses a stranger in the apartment. But was anyone actually there?

In our second anonymous submission, we hear about a haunted farmhouse with a dark past.

Finally, we end with Holly's story that takes us to an old New Zealand property with a history of ghostly presences that multiple people have seen.

00:00:00
Whenever I hear any stories that are about the mountains, a lake,

00:00:04
the ocean, somewhere where I can't imagine living, like in

00:00:08
the woods, for example, I get super excited.

00:00:12
Today, we have one of those. What that means is that we have

00:00:16
another listener submissions episode.

00:00:21
You ready? My name's Edwin and this is

00:00:25
Paranormal Club. All right, so this deserves the

00:00:37
fire. So let's go in 2021.

00:00:43
I got this e-mail from Sunny. This is from a story that was

00:00:46
actually featured in True Scary Story, but it's worth a revisit.

00:00:50
And this is kind of a behind the scenes like when people send in

00:00:52
their initial stories and this will really creep me out.

00:00:56
It's actually the first call that I received from a person

00:01:01
that, like, I wasn't actively bugging to send me a story.

00:01:05
So Sunny, I'm always remembering this story seriously.

00:01:09
But here we go. Here's what it says.

00:01:14
I was seven years old when this happened to me.

00:01:17
I'm 37 now. It all started one morning when

00:01:21
my mom left my older sister who was nine at the time, in charge

00:01:24
of myself and my younger sister. My dad was a truck driver at the

00:01:29
time so he would spend days away from home.

00:01:32
My mom was pregnant with my baby sister at the time as well so

00:01:36
she had her hands full. The apartment was small.

00:01:40
It was a two-bedroom 2 bath apartment.

00:01:43
The two-bedroom had a small hallway you had to walk through,

00:01:46
but the bathroom was literally less than 5 feet from the

00:01:49
bedroom. It was in that hallway and I saw

00:01:52
him. My parents had AC shaped

00:01:56
sectional, it would have to walk around it to get to the living

00:01:59
room. This particular morning my mom

00:02:01
woke us up and made breakfast for us and told my older sister

00:02:05
what to make us for lunch. My mom would always give us the

00:02:08
don't open the door and don't answer the phone speech before

00:02:12
she left for work. As we ate and my mom left for

00:02:15
work we all decided to watch TV in the living room.

00:02:19
A couple hours went by and I told my sister that I needed to

00:02:21
go to the bathroom, so I got up and walked around the couch.

00:02:26
When I got to the hallway I saw a white man with a white towel

00:02:31
around his waist. This man came out of our room

00:02:37
and it seemed as if we locked eyes.

00:02:40
I was frozen with fear and confusion because I knew no one

00:02:43
was in the apartment but us. I never heard a door open or

00:02:48
close. Now I couldn't move.

00:02:52
The man finally looked forward and walked into the bathroom.

00:02:56
No lights were turned on or off, he's just disappeared in the

00:03:00
bathroom. I turned around and walked back

00:03:03
to the couch and sat down by my sisters and my older sister

00:03:07
asked what I was looking at and I said there's a man in the

00:03:11
bathroom that didn't move off the couch for hours until our

00:03:14
mom got home. I told her what happened and she

00:03:17
was terrified. Thankfully, my dad was on his

00:03:21
way home. Once he got home, he looked in

00:03:23
our room in the bathroom and said no one was in there.

00:03:27
I was terrified to go back in that room, so my parents

00:03:30
switched rooms with us. After my mom had my baby sister,

00:03:34
we moved into a house. Years went by and I was about 14

00:03:38
or 15. I was at a basketball

00:03:40
tournament. We stayed overnight at a hotel.

00:03:44
I told my teammates what I saw when I was 7, and a fellow

00:03:47
teammate told me that she saw the same man around the same

00:03:52
time in the same apartment complex.

00:03:58
She described this man in such detail that we both got creeped

00:04:01
out about it. We never found out who the guy

00:04:04
was or if anyone else had seen him or what had happened to him.

00:04:10
I'm just happy I didn't see him again.

00:04:16
Can you imagine that seeing somebody in your house,

00:04:21
especially when you're alone at the house, right?

00:04:22
You're my parents did the same thing.

00:04:24
They're like don't open the door, don't answer the phone.

00:04:30
So I kind of grew up with that kind of, you kind of know not to

00:04:35
open the door. Like you, I still don't even

00:04:37
like to open the door. I don't even like to answer the

00:04:39
phone sometimes, but yeah, that's super, super creepy.

00:04:43
Sunny, thanks a lot for sharing that story.

00:04:46
It's still it's still haunting. She actually has the story is

00:04:48
called the Phantom Carriage if you want to check it out.

00:04:52
It's one of the early, early stories in in true scary story

00:04:56
like the podcast. So you can actually find it

00:04:58
there. This is an additional story that

00:05:00
she submitted like, well, we're recording this one.

00:05:04
This next story is from anonymous back three years ago,

00:05:07
actually. And here's a story about a

00:05:08
farmhouse. We used to live in an old

00:05:13
farmhouse, and it was probably a good 40 to 50 years old.

00:05:16
So it was old, the paint was kind of peeling off the outside

00:05:20
and it just had that old look to it.

00:05:22
And I always thought it was creepy but never thought much

00:05:25
about the feeling. One night while I was asleep, I

00:05:29
woke up for no reason. By the way, there's this window

00:05:33
near my bed that the curtain is kind of an older one, kind of.

00:05:37
It's transparent so you can see through them, but not far, maybe

00:05:40
a few feet. But that night it was weird and

00:05:43
my dog, I had a Pitbull, woke up just about the same time and she

00:05:48
looked directly at my window. Dog started to whine so I

00:05:53
thought OK maybe she has to go out.

00:05:57
But when we went out she tucked her tail in between her legs and

00:06:00
would not move an inch off our steps.

00:06:04
And that's when I noticed something in the field that was

00:06:07
not an animal. And this time of the year, the

00:06:10
cows aren't in this field. So it wasn't a cow, but I

00:06:15
watched it walk toward the house and then just instantly vanish.

00:06:23
It gave me a very creepy feeling.

00:06:25
And that's when I decided to head back inside and I feel my

00:06:28
dog had sent something or felt something because she did not

00:06:33
want to leave those steps. A few months later, I was at

00:06:40
home with my parents watching TV.

00:06:42
We were just watching a Hallmark movie and there's a commercial

00:06:45
break and from where my couch is, I can see the dining room

00:06:49
table. No one was there, but for some

00:06:51
reason whenever I see movement that I didn't know what's going

00:06:54
to happen, I just snapped my eyes over the sores.

00:06:57
And that night I thought I saw some movement in the dining area

00:07:01
and at first I saw nothing. Then I looked closer and I kind

00:07:06
of saw a floating head circling around our table and then poof,

00:07:13
it was gone. Then I asked my parents like,

00:07:18
did you guys see that? And they say no, we didn't see

00:07:21
anything, what did you see? And I told them about the head

00:07:25
and they said that I was just seeing things.

00:07:27
So I thought nothing of it. But I can't rule out that I

00:07:30
wasn't seeing things. But I was actually scared to the

00:07:34
point where I actually don't think I was just imagining it.

00:07:40
Here's another story that I have.

00:07:41
It was a Thursday afternoon and it was sunny and I was having

00:07:44
fun that daycare and my parents showed up to pick me up.

00:07:48
Then I had Zoe, my dog, and they picked me up and drove home and

00:07:52
our front door was locked. That was normal.

00:07:54
But when we came in we had this fire escape door with a hook and

00:07:58
circle lock on it. So you have to like open it to

00:08:01
actually mean to open it. And my parents say it wasn't

00:08:04
open when they left, but it was wide open now.

00:08:07
And there was a bunch of stuff in the hallway.

00:08:11
There was this old rocking chair that was there when he moved in,

00:08:14
and it was rocking back and forth, not a lot like you see in

00:08:18
the movies. Very slowly.

00:08:22
A few weeks later, we were talking to the owner of the

00:08:24
house because we were at the farmhouse.

00:08:26
And I tell him about what I had been seeing and what's been

00:08:29
happening. And that's what he says that the

00:08:32
woman who had lived there before had been into witchcraft and had

00:08:38
also done devil rituals. These are my 3 experiences we

00:08:44
have since we moved. And I have also experienced

00:08:46
things. My new house, I also learned

00:08:50
that someone had actually died at this new place where I am.

00:08:57
There's an example of when something's tied into a location

00:09:00
where you, you know where you're experiencing this because we

00:09:03
also get stories where the person's actually has an

00:09:06
attachment that's been following them.

00:09:08
But in this case, move to a new place and also have more

00:09:12
experiences and some other thing happened there.

00:09:16
These are two very strange combinations here.

00:09:19
So just be careful out there. The next story is comes from

00:09:24
Holly. This was submitted back in 2022

00:09:26
and it's about a house in New Zealand.

00:09:29
So for this one, make sure you have your your, your coffee,

00:09:33
your tea, a Kovika ready everything because this is a

00:09:36
this is a long one and it's very immersive.

00:09:39
So here we go. My great grandfather from

00:09:45
Denmark moved to New Zealand with his wife, my great

00:09:48
grandmother, and built this house to lay their roots.

00:09:51
So it's over 100 years old. It is in Wanganui, New Zealand,

00:09:56
a small town next to a lake. It was a huge property with a

00:10:00
small forest to the side of the house and huge Pines along the

00:10:03
lakefront. It was always old in my

00:10:06
memories. My great aunt lived there until

00:10:08
she died and then my auntie lived there into my teens.

00:10:12
No one ever repaired it or renovated it so it was all

00:10:15
original except for maybe the toilet and fridge etcetera.

00:10:19
Being old and rundown it was of course creepy.

00:10:23
It was so dark even on a sunny day, and being a small house on

00:10:27
this huge plot of land, it felt like you were alone for miles.

00:10:32
There was a long gravel driveway to the house and the lake had

00:10:35
been hidden by these massive Pines, so it was very isolated.

00:10:41
I hated going there, but we would go every year to visit my

00:10:44
grand aunt. She lived there her whole life

00:10:47
and never married. My granddad, the youngest, was

00:10:50
the only child of seven to get married and have children.

00:10:54
My great aunt and auntie we're both crazy cat ladies and we're

00:10:59
used to living alone, so the old house in isolation never scared

00:11:03
them. Even the paranormal things going

00:11:06
on, When you enter the front door, immediately the air feels

00:11:10
heavy and you get this weight of fear over you.

00:11:13
I don't know how else to explain it.

00:11:16
There was a strange smell and old furniture and rugs and like

00:11:20
50 old cats, which was the only way I stayed entertained because

00:11:24
I love animals. My grand aunt was old and not

00:11:27
really friendly and I guess had grown so used to the isolation

00:11:31
that she preferred to be alone. Bathroom.

00:11:35
I've always been scared of bathrooms but I refused to go in

00:11:38
there because it was so dark and black with God knows what.

00:11:43
The worst room was a piano room. My cousin Ben and I would go in

00:11:49
there while my mom, auntie and uncle chatted with my great

00:11:53
aunt. He would play on the piano.

00:11:56
He would show off on the keys. It was I was about 10 and he was

00:12:00
11. He would always play pranks on

00:12:03
me and try to scare me. This was different.

00:12:07
He sat on the piano stool talking and laughing and then we

00:12:11
heard music coming from the piano.

00:12:16
We both looked at each other and then at the keys.

00:12:19
Neither of us were touching the piano.

00:12:21
Our hands were on our laps. The keys were playing by

00:12:25
themselves and I screamed. Of course Ben was silent and ran

00:12:31
out of the room. I ran after him and started

00:12:33
yelling that Ben was trying to scare me, but he was white as

00:12:37
death behind his dad and he said the piano was playing by itself.

00:12:48
The adults shrugged it off and said it was an old piano and

00:12:50
probably broken, but it happened almost every time he went over

00:12:54
to visit. Whenever Ben and I were together

00:12:57
in the house, it played a strange jangly tune.

00:13:01
Not entirely random strange. My mom says that she thinks she

00:13:07
remembers it doing that in her youth visiting there too, but

00:13:11
decided to never touch the piano, ever.

00:13:16
I would never go in that room alone.

00:13:18
I remember my mom and I visiting and I was in the room looking at

00:13:22
the old photographs of my family.

00:13:23
It was one that stood out to me, especially now.

00:13:28
There was a black and white photograph from the early 1900s

00:13:32
of a young girl with dark hair and a white dress.

00:13:37
I asked my mom about her and she said it was my great aunt

00:13:40
Josephine. I didn't remember hearing about

00:13:43
this great aunt as only three of my great grandparents children

00:13:47
were alive at that time and it wasn't too strange.

00:13:51
But mom talked about her aunts and uncles so I knew their

00:13:53
names, not this one. And then my mom told me that she

00:13:58
died when she was 12 years old of appendicitis.

00:14:03
The girl in the photo looked around my age too.

00:14:06
I immediately felt overcome with dread.

00:14:08
It was like looking at a ghost when I went to leave the room

00:14:11
after my mum. I nearly wet myself.

00:14:14
I swear the photo moved. I remember staring back at the

00:14:20
photo and thinking I was crazy but as I walked away her eyes

00:14:26
definitely moved with mine watching me leave.

00:14:32
I was so scared. I get chills just remembering it

00:14:36
now. It could have been my brain

00:14:39
playing tricks but I clearly saw those dark eyes in that pale

00:14:44
face watch me leave the room. Like the photo was alive where

00:14:50
she was trapped in it, frozen in time, frozen in youth.

00:14:56
I was 12 so it fell to extra haunting.

00:15:02
My cousin Ben and I didn't like being in the house and he was

00:15:05
being naughty so our parents kicked them out and we would

00:15:07
like to explore the garden. There was an old rectangular pit

00:15:12
I'm the house that was overgrown with weeds.

00:15:15
There was once a swimming pool, but to my great horror my uncle

00:15:19
told us that it was now a cat cemetery for all the cats the

00:15:23
family has had for the past 100 or so years.

00:15:28
My great grandfather was very old when he had my granddad so

00:15:32
we stayed clear of the dead cats in the pool and went down this

00:15:35
long kind of path lined with tall hedges on either side that

00:15:40
led to a small forest. I remember looking down the long

00:15:44
corridor of hedges. The end was so dark it was black

00:15:48
and always foggy from the rain and trees.

00:15:53
I swear I saw a figure standing at the end when my cousin and I

00:15:57
would go play in the forest. I saw a tall dark figure at the

00:16:00
end and refused to go. When my cousin laughed at me and

00:16:05
ran down toward it, not seeing it.

00:16:09
The fog moved and the figure faded away.

00:16:15
It wasn't like a man walking in and out of you, he literally

00:16:18
just faded in and out of sight. My family is made-up of very

00:16:24
tall, slim men, so it could have been any of them, but at the

00:16:29
time only my great grandfather had died before my mom and her

00:16:33
siblings were born. It was an Olympic gymnast in

00:16:36
Denmark. I told my mom about seeing it

00:16:39
and she freaked out thinking that it was someone coming to

00:16:43
rob the place or try to hurt us. She didn't want to go down into

00:16:46
the forest where Ben was because that's where I saw the figure.

00:16:51
So my uncle called for him and we went down there.

00:16:55
My mom believed in the creator and spirits but didn't know much

00:16:59
about any of that and what it meant.

00:17:02
My uncle came back without Ben. We started calling for him and

00:17:07
looking everywhere, my mom becoming frantic thinking the

00:17:10
man took him. My uncle was convinced that he

00:17:13
was just hiding and pranking us. We went to this old mossy glass

00:17:18
house behind the pool that was overgrown with foggy glass.

00:17:22
We looked inside and Ben was in there, crouched on the ground by

00:17:30
the corner. My uncle tried opening the door

00:17:34
but it was locked the outside. He asked how on earth he got in

00:17:40
there. He was such a troublemaker that

00:17:42
my uncle got mad but Ben was not moving.

00:17:45
We eventually got it open and he came out and he acted like

00:17:50
nothing happened. He was fine, you know?

00:17:54
A few seconds ago he was curled up in the corner amongst old

00:17:57
pots and plants like he was terrified.

00:18:02
Claimed to have not seen anything.

00:18:05
Maybe something locked him in there as punishment for being

00:18:08
bad When I was a bit older and my auntie was now living in the

00:18:13
house after it had been empty for years.

00:18:16
After my great aunt died, we went to visit her.

00:18:20
It's about 6 hours drive from where we live so it was rare to

00:18:23
be at this house, but it still had that same familiar presence

00:18:27
as soon as you drove down the driveway.

00:18:30
There was this huge tall concrete through at the start of

00:18:33
the hedge corridor and in it were lots of goldfish.

00:18:38
It was circular and covered with metal mesh to probably keep the

00:18:41
birds and cats out. I remember lifting off the mesh

00:18:44
and looking down at the fish, all colors and sizes.

00:18:49
I was feeding them when something caught my eye.

00:18:53
As the fish food mate rippled on the surface, the water went

00:18:57
dark. The fish disappeared deeper into

00:19:01
the water, out of sight until I only saw my reflection when the

00:19:06
water was glassy again. My heart dropped when I realized

00:19:10
there was something behind my head, a shape of another one

00:19:16
another head, like there was someone standing right behind

00:19:21
me. I hadn't heard anyone come up to

00:19:24
me and it was only my mom, auntie and I at the property.

00:19:27
So when I turned around and saw no one was there, I went

00:19:30
straight into the house. That is what I get for being

00:19:34
somewhere on that property alone.

00:19:39
My mom told me about her own experiences in the house during

00:19:42
her life. She was staying the night there

00:19:45
with her dog in one of the bedrooms before I was born and

00:19:48
heard someone walking up and down the hallway.

00:19:52
Her dog was whining and insisting on being under the

00:19:55
covers in the bed. She was normally a confident and

00:19:58
vocal dog, so it was unusual. She said the footsteps were all

00:20:03
different, some heavy like a man and some light like children.

00:20:10
Mom was too scared to get up and look in the morning.

00:20:14
Her aunts had no idea what she was talking about, but she

00:20:17
insists that she was awake. The house creaked, said my great

00:20:22
aunt. It was probably the floorboards.

00:20:26
It was as if they kept the memory of the family walking on

00:20:29
top of them. Long ago, my auntie said that

00:20:34
she would wake up in the middle of the night to the smell of

00:20:37
boiling cabbage, a common food cooked back when there were not

00:20:40
many options for food and it was expensive or had to be grown in

00:20:44
the yard. She even woke up some nights,

00:20:48
the house full of smoke, but no stove or oven was on and the

00:20:52
fireplace hadn't been lit for decades.

00:20:56
It was as if the house kept the memories of the family alive

00:20:59
long after they were gone and dead.

00:21:02
Well, the last of the children died, my granddad, when I was

00:21:05
17. My mom and her siblings sold the

00:21:07
property and the house was demolished.

00:21:10
When I walk along the lake, I can almost feel a sort of

00:21:13
presence walking next to me or watching me from the Pines, as

00:21:17
if they had been released from that house and now don't know

00:21:21
where to go to roam the lake. It makes me feel uneasy that we

00:21:27
had somehow disturbed something. One night shortly after the

00:21:31
house was knocked down and taken away.

00:21:33
My pets in her home were acting strange.

00:21:36
My mom and I were watching TV and she noticed our dog staring

00:21:39
at something dead still. She called her name but she

00:21:43
didn't move or so much as look at us.

00:21:45
An acknowledgement. I had my cat next to me.

00:21:49
He was sitting dead straight and staring at the exact same spot

00:21:53
that my dog was staring at across the lounge, at nothing in

00:21:58
the dark. My dad was away, so my mom and I

00:22:03
were terrified. We turned on all the lights to

00:22:06
see nothing. The animals didn't move, only my

00:22:10
cat's tail wagging and my dog's nose twitching.

00:22:14
The room felt heavy. That's the only way to describe

00:22:18
how it feels heavy and thick. I didn't like it at all.

00:22:24
We felt something in the room with us, even though we couldn't

00:22:28
see it. Was it our ancestors saying

00:22:31
goodbye? Were they now free to move on?

00:22:37
Not that I really believed in such things.

00:22:40
Were they there to punish us for destroying their home?

00:22:51
Is that a good story? Like it was so immersive.

00:22:56
Like we have a recording of the of the story, like directly from

00:23:00
from her. It's a terrifying story.

00:23:04
And just to think of of the consequences of destroying

00:23:07
something where people lived. I don't know if it was something

00:23:12
good or bad. I honestly think it was

00:23:14
something kind of dark in order to be scaring people.

00:23:17
But you know, sometimes we get scared off of spirits that

00:23:22
aren't bad at all, aren't considered bad at all.

00:23:24
So that one got me like that when I when I read it, the first

00:23:29
the summary, when it came in, I was like, we need to get this

00:23:31
one like we need to, we need to like record it.

00:23:34
So I'm glad that we did. But those are the three stories

00:23:38
that we have for today. I hope you you like them.

00:23:41
Now we're going to move on to some comments that I received

00:23:43
from our last episode. And we were talking about

00:23:45
sleepwalkers. You guys are these are

00:23:49
sleepwalking stories. I'm telling you.

00:23:51
They're, they're really strange. Like they're, I kept saying

00:23:55
bizarre in the last episode because they are pretty strange,

00:23:57
pretty strange stories like this one, right?

00:23:59
This one, we have some comments here.

00:24:03
Actually, some people share their own experiences directly

00:24:04
on here. Big text says my sister was the

00:24:09
one who would sleepwalk as a as a kid.

00:24:11
One night I woke up to her standing next to my bed.

00:24:14
I wasn't scared, just really creeped out.

00:24:17
I don't sleepwalk, but I sleep talk often, or so I'm told.

00:24:21
Mostly happens when I have dreams about fighting demons.

00:24:23
Apparently I start yelling. Surprised I never woke myself

00:24:26
up. My husband usually has to wake

00:24:29
me up with those. I love the show.

00:24:31
I've been listening for a few years now, starting with Scary

00:24:33
Story podcast. Great work.

00:24:36
Thanks. Big Tex.

00:24:37
Thanks for that. I think I also replied to the to

00:24:39
the comments on here. I appreciate that Ian Fiedler,

00:24:44
91, says I don't sleepwalk myself.

00:24:47
However, I shared a room with my brother from the age 10 to 15.

00:24:51
Some nights I would wake up to him having full conversations

00:24:54
with himself. Really weird some of the things

00:24:56
he would murmur or say. My grandfather also yelled and

00:24:59
screamed in his sleep, which we think was from his military time

00:25:03
and experiences. Sleeping and what our brains do

00:25:06
during it is very weird. I agree.

00:25:11
Great video again, Edwin. Keep it scary.

00:25:13
Yeah, keep it scary. And thanks a lot for the for the

00:25:15
comment. Also reply to this one on

00:25:17
Spotify. Here we go.

00:25:20
Roshan. Roshan Shed, it's here.

00:25:24
Thanks for that episode. And never really thought about

00:25:26
how scary it could be to sleepwalk or to be around

00:25:28
someone who does until you told these two chilling murder

00:25:31
stories, especially the one in Canada.

00:25:33
Now that's scary than the paranormal.

00:25:36
I'm telling you. I'm telling you it is it's

00:25:40
scary. You're unconscious.

00:25:41
I think of like those hypnotists shows.

00:25:45
I don't I wouldn't want to do that.

00:25:46
I don't Those are that's scary, man, that's really scary.

00:25:50
Who's imagine when you're like, have you ever, I don't know if

00:25:53
you've ever been to like a hypnotism kind of show, but like

00:25:56
if you have, are they controlling you?

00:26:00
And in case you're sleepwalking, who's controlling that?

00:26:03
Like who's controlling while you're sleepwalking if you're

00:26:06
not there there, I don't know, really weird.

00:26:09
But anyway, Nyla Sid says this is Thomas Sid was my dad's name.

00:26:15
OK, so it's a different username says that is very chilling to

00:26:19
think that some people can do that.

00:26:21
One time my brother was asleep walking to my parents bathroom

00:26:24
and almost took a dump in the trash and not the toilet.

00:26:29
My humor is very predictable you guys.

00:26:33
It says. I thought I thought it was funny

00:26:36
since he didn't go in the toilet but that's all I could think of.

00:26:39
Me and my family also sleep talking or asleep.

00:26:41
Like one time my youngest sister said something weird but it had

00:26:44
the word hamburger in it. I love your podcast so much,

00:26:48
keep it up. Thanks a lot and I appreciate

00:26:50
that you guys. Seriously everybody tells me to

00:26:55
like I should probably have a more mature kind of joke here

00:26:58
but I love poop jokes, toilets, peeing, all that.

00:27:01
It just is so awkward and funny to me.

00:27:04
It's embarrassing but we'll just keep going here.

00:27:07
Valerie says. I sleep talk and sleep.

00:27:10
I sleep walk and sleep talk. I've done it since I was like 4

00:27:14
years old. My mom told me that when I was 6

00:27:17
I had the chicken pox and I was sleeping on the living room

00:27:20
couch while my family ate dinner and I got up and walked to the

00:27:24
front door and started to unlock it to walk out when I was

00:27:28
asleep. So my mom asked me what I was

00:27:30
doing and I told her I was going to catch the train and she said

00:27:34
I was too little to go alone and told me to go back to sleep.

00:27:38
So I said I'll just use the restroom.

00:27:41
And it says one of two. So I don't know if you submitted

00:27:43
a different a different comment on your I can't see it.

00:27:46
Please continue. I want to know what happened.

00:27:50
But thanks a lot, Valerie, for that one.

00:27:51
Marissa here says I used to sleepwalk a child as a child.

00:27:55
When I was about six or seven, I would sit up in bed and get up

00:27:59
and start walking out of my bedroom door.

00:28:01
Our house was one story, so luckily I didn't have stairs to

00:28:05
fall down on. Yeah, that's good.

00:28:06
That's yeah it says I would make my way to the closet in my

00:28:10
parents room and then turn around and walk out, walk out

00:28:14
towards the front door. My mom and dad would see me and

00:28:18
try to turn me around because I would try to walk out the front

00:28:21
door. Why it would guide me back to

00:28:25
bed. The funny thing is I don't

00:28:26
remember any any of it. Why do we want to leave in our

00:28:31
sleep? That's creepy.

00:28:35
And I could just imagine them guiding you back like just kind

00:28:37
of turning around like U-turn. Yeah, Anyway, thanks, Marissa

00:28:42
for that one Machine says. I think Watcher is equal

00:28:46
likeness. They both have their own charm

00:28:48
for sure. Oh yeah.

00:28:49
This is because I mentioned like, I don't know which one's

00:28:51
more likeable here, Shane or Ryan from Watcher, from the

00:28:54
YouTube channel. And yeah, I think a lot of

00:28:57
people, I think people hate more on Ryan just because I don't

00:29:02
know. I don't know.

00:29:03
But I think, I think for me, more relatable between the two.

00:29:07
I think Shane, he's just, I don't know why.

00:29:09
I just, I think, what do you call him?

00:29:10
Like a shaniac, Right. I'm a shaniac, I guess.

00:29:14
No, some of I believe in the paranormal.

00:29:15
So I guess I'm not a shaniac. Yeah.

00:29:20
Because I believe in ghosts. So yeah.

00:29:24
Dang it. It's tough.

00:29:25
It's tough. But yeah, I agree with you.

00:29:27
Both have their own charm. Mama Bear says one night my

00:29:30
son's dad was talking about work in his sleep.

00:29:33
He was doing construction at the time.

00:29:35
So I told them, you're not at work, you're at home.

00:29:37
Go back to bed. Thanks for reading my comments

00:29:39
in the last couple episodes. Yeah, Thanks a lot, Mama Bear.

00:29:42
Glad just to see you. You're on here.

00:29:45
That's funny because that just shows like, how much work is

00:29:48
affecting us. And we need a break sometimes,

00:29:50
but I guess we can't even get it while we sleep.

00:29:55
There was this comment here. I don't know if you can see it

00:29:57
on there because it was it was set as like hidden because

00:30:01
supposedly has sensitive comments on here.

00:30:04
It just mentions the sex word. But I mean I'll just read it on

00:30:10
here says I wanted to share this about cutting off family.

00:30:14
I shared a room with my brother who was older and he would bring

00:30:17
his GF to sleep over and would have SEX while I while I was

00:30:23
sleeping and I think that's just disgusting and wrong.

00:30:26
Yeah, that's pretty disgusting. And by the way, this is this is

00:30:30
mostly on the our comments about if our family like harms us, are

00:30:35
we allowed to stop talking to him?

00:30:37
Right. I came up in an earlier episode

00:30:40
then so to continue saying happened multiple times and my

00:30:43
brother would get mad if I confront him.

00:30:45
So I went to my mom and she would say well, if I tell him

00:30:48
he's just going to get even more mad.

00:30:49
So it happened again. And that night I packed and

00:30:52
left. It's been 2 years since I've

00:30:54
talked to my brother. Geez.

00:30:57
Yeah, I responded to this comment again.

00:30:59
I don't know if anybody else can view it, but basically, I think,

00:31:03
I think somebody said here said a bet it's best.

00:31:04
I think it was Mama Bear. It's not our responsibility here

00:31:08
if we're the victim. Like, why are we going to be

00:31:11
defending them? Like what?

00:31:12
Yeah, We have to take care of ourselves too.

00:31:14
So I wouldn't feel guilty if I were you that you did the right

00:31:19
thing here. I mean, I don't know.

00:31:22
It's always best obviously to try to come to terms and and

00:31:26
agree and like try to come to an agreement.

00:31:28
But hey, you know, if you, if you tried it and doesn't work

00:31:33
and it affects you this much and you should take care of yourself

00:31:36
all for it here. I did reply to this comment by

00:31:39
the way, to this thread. Blanca says I did about

00:31:43
sleepwalking, says I did once as a child or so I think maybe I

00:31:48
dreamed it. And that's the thing.

00:31:50
We don't know if we sleepwalk. We have no way of knowing.

00:31:54
You know, I remember back in the day, like when I was little, I

00:31:58
used to share a room with my sister.

00:31:59
And I remember my aunt was always like, nearby.

00:32:02
And I remember we were watching TV and I kind of dozed off.

00:32:05
I was a kid. And I just remember, like,

00:32:08
sitting up and pointing out toward the wall and saying,

00:32:11
like, it's sombrero. It's sombrero.

00:32:13
When I thought about when I just thought, OK, I just thought

00:32:15
about it just now. Sombrero means hat and I just

00:32:21
thought of the hat man and at the time I had no way of knowing

00:32:27
anything about the hat man. I need to look into that.

00:32:34
That was weird because I said at sombrero, sombrero and I

00:32:37
remember they like kind of like my sister kind of laughed and my

00:32:39
aunt laughed and and we left it at that.

00:32:43
I don't even remember why I said I remember that specific because

00:32:46
I remember I was so confused and embarrassed to say that while I

00:32:48
was I was kind of sleep talking, but I was I was waking up.

00:32:52
I was in that stage. So why did I say that?

00:32:57
It's weird. It's really weird, really weird

00:32:59
to think about. But anyway, those are all the

00:33:01
comments. Thanks a lot.

00:33:02
By the way, I read the comments from Spotify on the Spotify

00:33:04
comments. Let's see if we have anything

00:33:05
from YouTube. Yes, we do.

00:33:08
Let's see, baby said yeah, 212 says I only used to listen to

00:33:14
your podcast on Spotify and completely forgot.

00:33:16
I can also hear stories here. I love your channel and stories.

00:33:19
It's one of my favorites. That's all I wanted to say now

00:33:21
to listen non-stop. Thanks a lot.

00:33:23
This is cool. Yeah, actually we have our

00:33:25
stories on on YouTube. Like we don't pay a lot

00:33:28
attention to YouTube because mainly we were focusing on audio

00:33:31
kind of things. But now we're putting everything

00:33:33
on there, even Horror Story, which I think it's one of the

00:33:36
more requested ones to go on there.

00:33:38
But yeah, we're making it happen because we need to have

00:33:41
everything on there. Everything is content.

00:33:43
We have so much recording, so much audio.

00:33:44
Just might as well just spread it out right to see what to see

00:33:48
if we can reach a wider audience to decal 41O4 says you're such a

00:33:53
great storyteller, Edwin, whether it's the stories you

00:33:55
write or the true stories you tell.

00:33:57
I get such a vivid picture in my mind.

00:33:59
Keep it scary. Thanks a lot Decal like this is

00:34:01
another comment on one of our videos on on YouTube actually

00:34:03
for from the because YouTube has playlists and our YouTube

00:34:07
channel scary story podcast has episodes from scary story

00:34:12
podcast from from true scary story and paranormal club.

00:34:16
We might add also another playlist soon for some of the

00:34:19
other podcasts that we had. Definitely some of the Spanish

00:34:24
ones are going to be on another channel.

00:34:25
So just keep an eye out for that cause Spanish stories are

00:34:28
coming. They're coming fast.

00:34:29
We're actually working on them like now, but that with a brand

00:34:33
new kind of theme in Spanish, It's going to be really cool.

00:34:35
Stick around and stick around for that second.

00:34:37
Share it with you because it's coming.

00:34:39
Gabby says you should do a short film about the ghost at the

00:34:42
truck stop. Yeah, you know what the the

00:34:44
ghost at the truck stop is actually bait.

00:34:46
It's a story I want to tell. I'm going to share it some other

00:34:48
time. But just so you know, now that

00:34:50
story is based on a real experience for my dad.

00:34:54
So I've actually recorded him telling me the story.

00:34:59
I'm going to ask him to share it too because it's it's really

00:35:02
creepy. And then also Gabby, another

00:35:07
comment says my favorite story. This is about Horror Story.

00:35:10
The podcast says my favorite story is about La Romerosa and

00:35:14
the Wendigo. I really like the Romerosa.

00:35:18
I've actually shared with Romerosa stories multiple times

00:35:22
because I I find it so interesting that Romerosa has a

00:35:24
stretch of Rd. that goes it's in Mexico.

00:35:27
So it's in the north part. I think it goes from Mexicali to

00:35:31
somewhere in some other part of the north.

00:35:33
I forgot the the end city, but like it's this stretch of Rd. is

00:35:36
very desert, very lonely. And as you're driving there, you

00:35:41
see a lot of cars and buses and stuff down in the down the

00:35:46
Cliff. So you they're still there,

00:35:48
really creepy, really creepy, but also have a lot of ghost

00:35:50
stories there. So I make sure a few, a few of

00:35:52
them. But yeah, those are the ones

00:35:54
that I get. I can get to hear comments on

00:35:57
YouTube and their reviews on Apple podcast.

00:36:00
Actually haven't seen them just yet, but we'll save them for

00:36:02
another 1 so we can so they can build up.

00:36:05
So if you're listening on Apple Podcasts, leave a review there.

00:36:07
I'll I'll be reading in the next the next episode.

00:36:11
But that's all we have for now. Thank you so much everybody for

00:36:14
showing up for watching or listening.

00:36:17
If you have any suggestions or ideas or you just want to get in

00:36:21
touch, my contact information is going to be it's always in the

00:36:24
description of this episode. You can always DM me at Edwin

00:36:28
Cove. That's EDWINCOV, short for my

00:36:31
full name, Edwin Cove Arubias here.

00:36:35
You can get in touch with me that way.

00:36:36
So thanks again for watching or listening.

00:36:39
Keep it scary everyone. See you soon.
