Stories Our Parents Told Us: Duendes, Devils, and Cursed Souls

Stories Our Parents Told Us: Duendes, Devils, and Cursed Souls

00:00:00
Today we're launching our celebration of Hispanic Heritage

00:00:04
Month. So what does this mean?

00:00:08
We're celebrating people's contributions, histories, all of

00:00:13
the culture that people who live in the United States and around

00:00:17
the world that can people can trace back the heritage to

00:00:19
Spain, Mexico, Central America, South America, Caribbean,

00:00:24
Spanish speaking nations and really bring us out into the

00:00:29
light and say, hey, here we are, we're here, this is what we're

00:00:33
doing, let's celebrate. So I found it fitting here to

00:00:38
share with you some of the really creepy legends and some

00:00:43
of the folk traditions. And some of these I would call

00:00:47
like the roots or the baseline of a bunch of stories that my

00:00:51
family has experienced and talked about really

00:00:54
understanding where they're coming from.

00:00:56
Obviously, I'm just going to hit the very, very tip of the

00:00:58
iceberg here because there's a bunch, I'm saying a a bunch and

00:01:02
things that span from like way before, like we had accurate

00:01:07
record keeping or records that we can actually access.

00:01:10
And that's what I have for you today.

00:01:12
You ready? My name's Edwin and this is

00:01:14
Paranormal Club. We are actually doing this a

00:01:23
little bit backwards today. I just did this to test out the

00:01:26
audio here. Everything's good.

00:01:27
So you should be fine and the reasons I have this like ear

00:01:31
thing, I don't want to like keep those things on the whole time.

00:01:36
I need to save them so that when I edit, I can actually edit.

00:01:39
I don't really ever felt that, but like when your ears get all

00:01:41
weird and like I, I felt like this thing that you would just

00:01:45
go like, I just, I imagined like roaches coming out.

00:01:50
I had a dream where like things were crawling out of my ear.

00:01:54
There was nothing in there, but it just everyone saw you like

00:01:56
your body would react like look like like a little butterfly

00:02:00
kind of thing. But anyway, I got to the, I went

00:02:02
to the doctor and everything's good after a bunch of

00:02:05
medications. So I'm still kind of still kind

00:02:08
of loopy. You might seem a little bit like

00:02:09
that's what's going on. So this week's episode on Horror

00:02:14
Story is going to be about doendes, right?

00:02:16
So I did a bunch of research on Doendes.

00:02:18
Doendes are like goblin like creatures and there's a bunch of

00:02:24
of different creatures that are also kind of fit the same

00:02:27
description. You have a Lucius Chaneques,

00:02:30
obviously Doendes. And then when you go into more

00:02:34
European or like Celtic kind of cultures, there's more when you

00:02:37
get into the, the fairies, the all these other, all these other

00:02:40
things. But we're going to stick with

00:02:42
Mexico here. Obviously there's a lot more,

00:02:44
right? We have stories from Puerto

00:02:45
Rico, we have stories from Central America, South America.

00:02:50
So in case you have a story from wherever you may come from,

00:02:55
wherever the world's bringing you in right now, or if you're

00:02:57
just interested in this and you happen to know about this stuff,

00:03:00
send them in. Like I want to know so we can we

00:03:02
can share them, we can learn about them here.

00:03:04
And you guys also pull through with the comments on on TikTok

00:03:08
and Instagram. And I didn't get emails.

00:03:11
So we're going to share a lot of those stories here.

00:03:13
We're going to start off with some of the legends.

00:03:15
This is the story of La Mujer and Vendada and Vendada.

00:03:21
What the heck does that mean? Doendes is like goblin and

00:03:25
Vendada means taking over by Doendes sort of like that.

00:03:28
So here's a story in El Salto in Jalisco.

00:03:33
A lot of these stories in Jalisco, by the way, there was

00:03:36
this woman who was out by Las Santas.

00:03:39
These areas, these like pools of water, the crystalline waters,

00:03:42
as people sometimes go out there and bathe.

00:03:45
So this woman was out there and she's, you know, sitting on a

00:03:49
rock, washing her hair, whatever people do when they're bathing,

00:03:55
when all of a sudden she starts hearing these strange sounds.

00:03:59
She kind of looks around and see something the distance, other

00:04:06
people that are around there, kind of they can kind of see,

00:04:09
oh, there's a lady out there. Yeah, OK, we saw her.

00:04:11
Yeah. Cool.

00:04:12
And leave. But they see this woman kind of

00:04:13
acting strange later on. It's night time, right?

00:04:18
It's like the sun has already set.

00:04:20
It's dark out, not like midnight or whatever.

00:04:23
It's probably like 8, maybe 7-30, something like that.

00:04:26
And they're like, hey, she hasn't come back.

00:04:29
Where is she? So some people are like, oh,

00:04:32
yeah, she was out bathing by the Luna Santas.

00:04:35
They're like, what? OK, was this weird?

00:04:37
Why is she back? So a group of people go out

00:04:40
there and they see her and she's sitting there in the rock in the

00:04:44
water. By the way, this is the rock is

00:04:45
in the water. And she's just kind of laughing.

00:04:50
She's like, ah, ha, ha. He, he, he.

00:04:52
Oh, my God. I'm not.

00:04:53
Oh, my God. Do you listen to me?

00:04:55
No. And they notice that she's

00:05:00
acting strange. She's like kind of looking

00:05:01
giggling. She's like, this is so, so odd.

00:05:05
And they call her, they're like, hey, like, come out.

00:05:08
She's just like there. She's like ignoring them

00:05:10
completely. She doesn't even know what's

00:05:12
going on. Then some of the people are

00:05:15
like, you know what's happening? She's been taking over by the

00:05:18
duentes. So they're like, and they

00:05:23
believe it, right? So they go and they find this

00:05:25
guy who happens to know all about this creep me out, a

00:05:30
person who just happens to know about healing in the pro process

00:05:33
of everything. And they're like, she's acting

00:05:37
like this. She's acting really weird.

00:05:38
She's like, yeah, that's, that's right.

00:05:40
She's been taking over by doing this.

00:05:44
So they're like, hey, what do we do?

00:05:46
And they say, OK, look, go to the toy store or any store that

00:05:49
sells toys, buy a bunch of them, whole bunch of toys, just buy

00:05:52
them. Go up to where she is and at

00:05:55
9:00 throw them into the water. Use that time, that distraction

00:06:02
to bring her out and she'll be she'll come back to normal.

00:06:08
So they're like, OK, they go to the store, buy a bunch of little

00:06:11
plates they call like Trastasitos, a little plates,

00:06:14
cups, spoon, little plastic toys, dolls, everything they can

00:06:18
find. Buy a bunch.

00:06:20
They go out to the to the Sankas and they throw them in the water

00:06:24
right at that time, right when they do that, the woman kind of

00:06:28
stops laughing and then the husband goes in, grabs or pulls

00:06:32
her out. And when she's out of the water,

00:06:35
she's just kind of like this, like acting like what's going

00:06:39
on? People are like, why is she like

00:06:42
that? Like my mom has a word to say

00:06:44
that I don't know if it's a bad word, but like my mom has a has

00:06:47
a word to say when you're kind of like, not really there, but

00:06:52
they were saying she was kind of crazy.

00:06:55
Like what's wrong with you? Eventually, like, you know, they

00:07:00
bring her back to the healer and they start kind of, you know,

00:07:05
cleansing her, basically hitting her with basil and doing a whole

00:07:11
smoke cleanse and like really trying to get whatever this is

00:07:14
out. She's like, you know what?

00:07:17
She's not in Vendada. She's a spiritoada.

00:07:21
Her spirit has been taking over like this is more than just like

00:07:26
Dwendes, like being entertained. It turns out that the Dwendes

00:07:31
were kind of doing funny things to keep her entertained.

00:07:34
They were laughing, jumping, splashing around the water,

00:07:37
hitting each other, acting really silly.

00:07:39
So so the woman all this time had been like, this is really

00:07:42
funny. She even said when she came back

00:07:44
to like normal, she said that she had heard them in like

00:07:48
really high pitched voices, that she found them very interesting.

00:07:52
Very curioso how people say I'm very curious, very like, oh,

00:07:55
what, like what is that like little dolls like jumping around

00:08:00
and people still couldn't understand what the reasoning

00:08:03
for that was. Like who were they like?

00:08:06
What are they from? But they they knew that they

00:08:07
existed from that day on. People consider Las Santas as an

00:08:12
area where the Wendes dwell. It just kind of hang out.

00:08:18
The thing is, people normally say that the one these are like

00:08:20
from the forest, but the person who said this, by the way, this

00:08:23
happened to a guy who gave the account on this book, the

00:08:28
collection that I that I ended up finding, and he said that it

00:08:31
was his aunts comadres experience.

00:08:35
So comadres like her really close friend, her commadre like

00:08:39
the what is it? You know how when they say how

00:08:41
do you even say this? It's like when you have a

00:08:43
godmother of your child. So it's like you're you call

00:08:48
them comadres is basically just assume it's like they're really

00:08:50
close friends. My comadre, my really close

00:08:53
friend and all of that was like this guy who said that was

00:08:59
saying that the Dwendes don't they're not from like the

00:09:04
forest. Like they actually live in the

00:09:06
water. That's where they come out from.

00:09:09
So when you hear dwendes stories, think about that.

00:09:13
Are you near a water source? Are you in a forest, in the

00:09:16
Monte, in the mountains? Where are you and are you what

00:09:20
you're looking at? Are they actually Gwendes?

00:09:23
Are they something else? Tell me if you've ever had any

00:09:27
Gwendes stories, like if you, if anybody's ever told you a story

00:09:29
about little people. Because I know for me, the very,

00:09:33
very first story I ever published on any podcast on

00:09:37
Scary FM was about, it was called The Little People, The

00:09:41
Little creatures from the hills. That's the name of it and it

00:09:44
talked about, I wrote out an experience, something that

00:09:47
actually happened. It's based on a true story.

00:09:49
It was kind of embellished a little bit, but is when a couple

00:09:52
of friends and I were walking around in Peru actually were I

00:09:55
was like backpacking down there. It was going to be 10 years ago

00:09:58
now and I was, I was going around there, going through

00:10:02
this, this small town of Chinchero, which is in the

00:10:06
Sacred Valley. And if you're ever been to Peru,

00:10:09
you probably know about Cusco, which is where people go in

00:10:13
order to get to, I was Calientes in order to get to Machu Picchu.

00:10:17
Anywhere near Cusco, there are these, they call it like the

00:10:22
Sacred Valley, right? So they usually have tours that

00:10:24
go down there. You go in, you go over the

00:10:26
mountain cause Cusco's kinda like a little hill area.

00:10:29
You go into the valley and there you have a bunch of small towns

00:10:33
in those small towns, like there's one called Chinchero.

00:10:35
And Chinchero had the school where I used to volunteer at.

00:10:37
It was like a like an after school program kind of thing.

00:10:40
And for people that live out there, they don't have a lot of

00:10:44
resources. So we kind of knew that area and

00:10:48
we, you would go there in these little vans and they would only

00:10:52
like drive back and forth up to a certain hour and they would

00:10:55
stop like basically once it got really late, like in dark, they,

00:10:59
they wouldn't go through these windy roads anymore.

00:11:01
They'd just stop. So we were right around that

00:11:04
time and we missed it that we missed our, our last return.

00:11:07
So we're like, let's just stay. So we wanted to stay.

00:11:10
But along the way, I meant that like when we were walking back

00:11:15
towards the town, because we went out to this little lake

00:11:17
area thinking that it was going to be a cool thing, but really

00:11:19
it was nothing there. Just literally just a body of

00:11:22
water with nothing on, no walking paths, nothing.

00:11:24
It was just like we should have known, like we were very naive

00:11:27
thinking that oh, it's probably like a tourist attraction, but

00:11:31
it wasn't. And as we were walking back, I

00:11:35
met this guy. His name's Eddie.

00:11:37
I still remember Eddie. We met his family, obviously

00:11:41
have a picture somewhere. And we started talking.

00:11:46
And as we were talking there, we took the pictures with his

00:11:48
family. He invited us to come back.

00:11:49
We actually never went back. And he said to be careful of the

00:11:54
little people. And I thought it was joking, but

00:11:59
he wasn't. They had a very straight face.

00:12:01
And he said, yeah, like, they take animals sometimes.

00:12:04
Sometimes they're said to take children.

00:12:07
So all imagine from his, like, house, walking back into the

00:12:12
town at night, The dark. This is just dark.

00:12:16
Dark, right? You're in a valley.

00:12:17
It's not like a normal, like what you were used to in a city,

00:12:20
right? This is dark.

00:12:22
I just kept thinking of these little creatures from the hills.

00:12:29
So every culture has some some version of this, or at least

00:12:33
something that symbolizes this, this thing.

00:12:36
It turns out the whole duente thing is way more complex than

00:12:41
what I thought it was. So the whole duentes A Lucius

00:12:45
Chaneques, like they have their own history and there's a reason

00:12:48
why they're hidden. Like why we don't openly talk

00:12:54
about duentes or why they turn into kind of scary stories is

00:12:58
because they were hidden. They were told like in secret

00:13:01
and stuff. And it had to do with the

00:13:04
Spanish basically. And the way that they made it

00:13:07
seem like these stories of these spirits were evil back in the,

00:13:13
you know, the conquest, the conquistadores, the

00:13:16
missionaries, actually the ones that that were coming by and you

00:13:19
know, to Mexico and the the whole Mesoamerican area.

00:13:22
And they were talking about all these customs that the natives

00:13:25
had. They were like, yeah, this is

00:13:28
this is evil. This is stuff of the devil.

00:13:30
So it's really started, you know, kind of being kept in in

00:13:34
in kept like a secret. You know, like you have to

00:13:36
worship in secret. There's a whole thing.

00:13:38
So by the way, the episode that comes out for Horror Story, I go

00:13:41
into the whole stuff like why this happened and even the story

00:13:46
of La Riteja de Guadalupe the the weekend from the tebayak.

00:13:51
So if that sounds familiar to you, which it should, if you've

00:13:56
know anything about Mexican culture, you this should ring a

00:13:59
bell. I talk about it there.

00:14:02
So go check it out. Once it's out, it's out.

00:14:04
This Thursday went along with this episode.

00:14:06
The same week that this episode comes out, that episode's coming

00:14:08
out. Now this other story is called

00:14:11
La Suegra de Lia. Now, this one starts off kind of

00:14:16
funny because it's this, it's six places in San Juan de Los

00:14:19
Lagos, again, Jalisco. All these legends kind of take

00:14:22
place in Holly School. This is where the compilation

00:14:24
comes from. There's this woman, Esperanza,

00:14:27
who was worried because her daughter Francisca, she said

00:14:33
it's she did not have any natural attraction meant that

00:14:38
she wasn't physically attractive and she was worried.

00:14:41
She was like, man, no one's going to want to marry her.

00:14:45
She was kind of sad about it and Francisco was obviously kind of

00:14:49
sad too. She was like, ah, man, like I'm

00:14:52
not going to find a husband. I'm going to leave my by myself.

00:14:56
I'm going to this is bad, right? So she goes out.

00:15:00
She's out by like the the the mountain area, like the Monte is

00:15:03
what we know. It's like the Monte and she's

00:15:06
under this tree, a Mesquite tree Mesquite.

00:15:10
And she's like, please, like, I need some help, right.

00:15:13
Like anybody the devil, I need some help.

00:15:17
I don't want to be by myself. And then she gets an answer.

00:15:22
This man, this guy, his name was Narciso Vargas.

00:15:26
He shows up on a horse. He's like, he shows up.

00:15:32
He's like, he's like, what's up? And then she's like, oh, my God,

00:15:38
like, it's you're real. I'm trying to make this seem

00:15:42
like a whole novela kind of thing, but now she's was like I

00:15:49
want to marry you. Oh, I'm pretty sure they they

00:15:52
talked more about it, right. But he wanted to to marry her

00:15:57
and she was like, that's kind of weird, like why, why me like and

00:16:01
he just really wanted her. And they eventually did get

00:16:04
married and this is called the home.

00:16:08
The home is going to be at Monte de la era.

00:16:14
But The thing is, once they started really living together,

00:16:18
she started freaking out because he would do things that he

00:16:20
shouldn't have been able, like no human should have been able

00:16:22
to do, for example. And she was like, I'm hungry.

00:16:25
I want some meat. He would go and like from like a

00:16:29
young cow, like a calf and like cut out a piece of like its leg,

00:16:35
take it out and be like just kind of wave his hand over the

00:16:40
cow and it would like regenerate its meat.

00:16:44
So she was kind of suspicious about it, but still like she was

00:16:46
hungry. So she ate it right.

00:16:48
She would do other things that are weird too, Like she wanted

00:16:52
bread. She would, she was like, I want

00:16:55
some bread. And they would like he he would

00:16:59
go into the oven that had it been turned on in weeks and pull

00:17:03
out like this perfectly baked soft bread.

00:17:08
Like how does that happen? I don't know.

00:17:11
She started getting suspicious, though.

00:17:13
She's like, I don't know about this.

00:17:15
Like, I think this guy is not. I don't think he's real.

00:17:19
Like. So she goes to his to her mom.

00:17:22
She's like, hey, I'm scared. Like this guy is, is not a guy

00:17:26
like this is the devil. Like he's the devil.

00:17:31
So the mom's like, really. Yeah, like he's the devil.

00:17:34
Like I can't be with him. So the mom, Esperanza is like,

00:17:43
OK, he's the devil. Like, all right.

00:17:46
So she started like once. Once Natiso came back, she was

00:17:49
like, OK, well, like, you're not the devil, are you?

00:17:52
Like if you were the devil, you'd be able to do this.

00:17:55
And then kind of started taunting him.

00:17:57
Eventually he was like, I am the devil.

00:18:01
And Esperanza was like, oh, really?

00:18:07
Well, if you were the devil, like what can you do?

00:18:09
He they say that he was able to go make, make himself small and

00:18:12
go through like the head of like the, the needle.

00:18:15
What do you call that? Like the head of a needle, like

00:18:18
the, the hole in a needle. He was able to do like other

00:18:21
really weird magical things and his parents.

00:18:24
I was like, OK, I still don't believe you.

00:18:26
And he was really pissed. He was like, I am the devil.

00:18:30
He's like, OK, well, if you're the devil, then get yourself in

00:18:32
this into this bottle and sleep for a little bit.

00:18:37
I can't imagine this conversation right in real life.

00:18:40
But I mean, according to the legend, that's what happened.

00:18:43
So he got down real small to like the size of like he he made

00:18:46
like a like a little snake, like a little ribbon snake.

00:18:49
And he went into the bottle and Esperanza was like, oh, got you

00:18:52
locked them in, like sealed the bottle and buried the bottle.

00:18:57
And they say, and now you can still hear him, devil himself

00:19:03
shouting from inside that bottle somewhere in that city, in that

00:19:07
same town. He's buried at the crossroads.

00:19:13
And he's still trying to say like he is the devil and that's

00:19:18
his main thing, trying to prove that he is.

00:19:20
And yet he's in the bottom locked.

00:19:24
What stories have you heard about the Devil El Diablo?

00:19:29
A lot, right? Like people who have encountered

00:19:31
them actually have some in the common and go through them like

00:19:33
rapid fire right now. In a bit, in a bit, because

00:19:37
you're going to spot some some similarities here with the

00:19:40
stories. Here's another one.

00:19:42
This is an Arco del Diablo, right?

00:19:45
So this is near Tuxpan. This is also in Jalisco.

00:19:49
There is this natural archway. Is that how you say that like an

00:19:55
arch, an arc of rocks? There is this natural shape of

00:20:02
rocks that looks kind of like an arc, and it's made of stone.

00:20:05
And people are like, well, where did this come from?

00:20:09
Well, they have a story for that.

00:20:11
Turns out there was this guy who his crops hadn't, they just

00:20:18
hadn't worked for like several seasons.

00:20:19
Like he hadn't gotten any, any, anything to sell, anything to

00:20:23
eat out of them. And he was just like, I don't

00:20:25
know what to do anymore. Like, you know, they have a

00:20:27
really tough time. The whole livelihood depends on

00:20:30
the success of the harvest. And he was desperate.

00:20:33
He's like, I don't know what to do anymore.

00:20:36
So what he does is get he's like, I'm, I'm need anything to,

00:20:41
to, to make this work. He just kind of says it out,

00:20:44
like yells it out. And then this man on a horse

00:20:49
comes by and he's like, hey, what's up?

00:21:00
That's like, who are you, kind of novel, like kind of thing

00:21:05
here. He's like, ah, look, I'm down on

00:21:08
my luck. Like I don't know what to do

00:21:10
here. My crops aren't working.

00:21:12
What do we do? He's like, OK, well, look, I'm

00:21:16
going to give you your whole Cosecha, your whole harvest, but

00:21:21
you need to give me your soul. And the guy was like, all right,

00:21:27
deal. Well, I'm pretty sure it wasn't

00:21:31
that that fast. It was a simple answer though,

00:21:34
for him. I mean, his life depended on it,

00:21:36
like he was going to die if he didn't accept it.

00:21:37
So he did. He accepted it and he went back.

00:21:40
And as soon as he got back to his field, everything was like

00:21:44
ready for him. Like he had whatever corn,

00:21:47
whatever he was growing, it was like an abundance, right?

00:21:51
So he got it, sold it, made a bunch of money, planted again,

00:21:56
grew again, like everything was good.

00:21:59
Then one day shows up to his field and there's nothing there.

00:22:05
And he's like, what happened? Well, his deal had expired.

00:22:09
So the devil came by and he's like, hey, it's time.

00:22:15
I need your soul. The guy was like, I'm not going,

00:22:18
I'm not going. So he grabbed onto the rocks.

00:22:20
He, like, grabbed on. No, you're not taking me.

00:22:23
But the devil was stronger. So he's like, yeah, you are.

00:22:26
And like grabbed him with such enormous force that even like

00:22:30
took some of the rocks with him and made this ark with the

00:22:34
stones. And that's why it still remains

00:22:37
there today, that permanent monument.

00:22:41
And if you go there, you can still see those places.

00:22:44
Supposedly. I haven't seen them, but like

00:22:46
you can see those places and this is where they came from.

00:22:50
Here's another one. Here's another one, the Wamuchi.

00:22:54
The Wamuchi is a tree, right? And they grow these interesting

00:22:57
little tamarindo, like like tamarind kind of fruit plants

00:23:02
things. So they say that on the summit

00:23:05
and the municipality of Totatiche, there is this tree

00:23:09
like by itself a Guamuchi. And they say that it's pretty

00:23:14
scary because for years, like over 60 years, people that pass

00:23:19
by it, especially at night, they say that it just feels creepy.

00:23:23
Like it whispers. People have said that they've

00:23:25
seen this dog, that you can't really tell what kind of breed

00:23:28
it is. It's just there, and he's just

00:23:31
looking at you, like, like, kind of growling in this deep, Like,

00:23:36
like, don't get close. Other people have said that

00:23:38
they've seen an object in the shape of a coffin just kind of

00:23:42
appear right at that base of the Guamuchi tree.

00:23:49
But other people say that the fear is not only limited to

00:23:54
humans, Horses that are kind of riding by there, they refuse to

00:23:59
get near that huamuchin tree. And they say that this tree has

00:24:04
its presence that is demonic and it won't allow anybody to get

00:24:09
near it. And it's experienced by multiple

00:24:12
people who passed by that tree. You know, My questions coming

00:24:17
up, any haunted places like that that you've heard of, like the

00:24:26
house at the Corner St. the tree, the river, the river's

00:24:30
bend, the Rock, Places that maybe your parents have warned

00:24:35
you don't get close, there's something wrong with it.

00:24:40
They gave me chills just thinking about that.

00:24:43
We're going to get even more scarier though, because when it

00:24:45
comes to monsters and ghosts, cursed souls, All right, there's

00:24:51
a story in Mesquite. Now this story is is pretty,

00:24:59
pretty dark. Like it's just a heads up here.

00:25:01
So here's here's some of the names, right.

00:25:03
There was Ramiro, who was a father.

00:25:06
Then you have Josefa, who's a mother.

00:25:08
They have two lazy and cruel daughters.

00:25:11
Their names are Concha and Ortensia.

00:25:15
The daughters were very just, you know, kind of like the

00:25:19
imagine, like the Cinderella sisters, like the step sisters,

00:25:23
like that. They were like, I don't want to

00:25:25
do this. Oh my goodness, I'm tired.

00:25:28
I just want to like like, I guess it would be like the

00:25:30
equivalent of like somebody today just wanted to eat hot

00:25:32
Cheetos and not clean the room, for example.

00:25:35
They were just like, but also add on to that somebody who like

00:25:39
straight up just wants like the best and the latest and the and

00:25:42
the coolest things just to show off, right.

00:25:46
That's how that's how I imagine them and that just that angers

00:25:49
me so much. But anyway, one day they're

00:25:52
like, hey, I kind of like the, the daughters are like, I kind

00:25:57
of really want meat. Like go get me some meat Mom.

00:26:01
Like what's you know, like, why don't you just go work?

00:26:04
Like, but no, she's demanding it.

00:26:06
But the mom, you know, she's nice and she's like, they, they

00:26:10
really want meat. I should, I should go find them

00:26:14
some meat. So she takes all the money that

00:26:16
they have saved, like, you know, the, the very little money they

00:26:19
have saved. And she goes out and to the

00:26:22
market. She looks for meat but can't,

00:26:25
can't find any. So she's like, oh, man.

00:26:29
So instead she ends up buying this like Stampa, this like

00:26:31
little thing of a St. like a little icon of a St. a Catholic

00:26:36
St. to hopefully let that be the trigger so that they can earn

00:26:42
more money and be able to get the meat.

00:26:46
So she comes back, but the daughters are like, hey, where's

00:26:49
the meat? And the mom's like, I couldn't

00:26:52
find any, you know, but hopefully the Saint is going to

00:26:56
help us and we're going to be able to get meat that way and

00:27:00
get more money. The daughter is like, one of

00:27:04
them is like, I didn't send you to go forget one of these St.

00:27:10
things. I told you I wanted meat, not

00:27:14
this thing. The daughter is like, give me

00:27:18
that thing. And she pulls the Saint.

00:27:21
The mom is like wait, hold on. Like they're like don't do that.

00:27:26
And she rushes to like grab it but misses trips and hits her

00:27:32
head and she dies. So the daughters are like, well

00:27:42
she's dead. So what do we do?

00:27:45
They were still pissed. They were very angry at the

00:27:48
whole thing. Like they they fought with their

00:27:50
mom, like the whole thing was was just bizarre and they still

00:27:55
wanted meat. So what did they do?

00:28:03
They butchered her body, they cooked her flesh and they ate.

00:28:13
Now when Ramiro, the dad came by and I came back to the house,

00:28:16
they're like, hey, we made this caldo, this Stew, eat it.

00:28:21
But as he was about to eat it, like he had the the meat in his

00:28:25
hand and the spoon, and he heard a voice.

00:28:28
And I said, Ramiro, it is your wife whom you're about to

00:28:32
devour. And he opened his eyes wide and

00:28:36
he was like, oh, I'm about to eat my wife.

00:28:39
Like, what the heck? He was horrified and he saw that

00:28:43
the the saint's little icon and he was like, I see what happened

00:28:50
here. Your mom wanted to pray for

00:28:53
money so that we can afford things for you guys.

00:28:55
And then you did this. So from the deaths of his soul,

00:29:03
he's like, you guys aren't women.

00:29:07
You're not my daughters. You're wolves.

00:29:11
You're she wolves, you guys are evil.

00:29:18
Only she wolves would be capable of doing this.

00:29:24
May God punish you and may you become that wolves.

00:29:32
So right when he said that he starts to hear these howls, like

00:29:38
they were trying to howl and they ran into the forest, like

00:29:43
into the, the Monta into the the mountains.

00:29:47
And they say that now they live as beasts out into the in the

00:29:53
wild. I remember I read the story

00:29:58
back, not this particular one, but like I read 1 in Scary

00:30:02
Stories to Tell in the dark. There's a story on this feral

00:30:07
girl and it creeped me out 'cause the drawing was like she

00:30:10
was kind of like with long hair and like kind of seemed like a

00:30:12
wolf. The wolf girl I think was the

00:30:14
name of the story. That was really creepy.

00:30:17
So thinking about this, I'm like, I've kind of heard, I

00:30:21
don't know if you've ever heard of Now Wallace, we can, we can

00:30:23
keep going on all this stuff. We can keep you.

00:30:24
There's so much material stuff to to talk about when it comes

00:30:28
to these legends, especially in Mexico.

00:30:32
And now Wallace are like spirits that can goodness, they can.

00:30:43
There are people that can turn into not, sorry, not spirit.

00:30:47
They're people that turn into animals.

00:30:50
So it's a whole, it's a whole thing.

00:30:53
It's very interesting. Anyway, there's this other one,

00:30:58
the creatures of the water. So this other short story in

00:31:02
Antigua, also in the state of Jalisco, they say that there's

00:31:05
this monster, the river monster in Monstro Del Rio, and it's

00:31:10
this giant serpent has supposedly lives in this cave

00:31:13
system that's underground. And these are like common things

00:31:16
to talk about caves under, like underground in the water,

00:31:20
because it's actually why all of these cenotes and all these

00:31:23
other areas like you've seen probably in pictures where like

00:31:26
you go into caves and there's water there.

00:31:28
They say that that was kind of like the entrance to the

00:31:30
underworld. All right, So there's a there's

00:31:33
a very significant place, like the very strong, like culturally

00:31:38
significant, spiritually significant places.

00:31:41
So they say that there though there is a monster and they say

00:31:46
that there is, it's so huge that when they, when people got

00:31:51
together to go to Mass, they actually feel like the floor of

00:31:56
the church shake whenever there is, you know, consecration.

00:32:02
It's like the, the, the sign that the beast is like, don't do

00:32:06
that. And it's kind of like rumbles.

00:32:09
That's creepy, really freaky stuff.

00:32:13
And then there's this other place in Mescala where they say

00:32:16
it's near Lake Chapala where kids speak about the thiruquat

00:32:19
theme, which is 2 kids actually saw this creature that kind of

00:32:23
looked like a cat, completely black with a long thick tail and

00:32:27
eyes that shine in the dark. And this creature is supposedly

00:32:31
comes out to eat people. So the Thirukkada is not really

00:32:35
a beast necessarily, but because it doesn't really chase you or

00:32:42
scare you, it just kind of attacks.

00:32:44
It jumps at your neck and you're dead and like that's it.

00:32:46
This is how people say and they blame on disappearances is

00:32:49
because all the Thirukada got you.

00:32:53
So what other creatures have you heard of like that?

00:32:58
Right now, what I'm trying to where I'm going here is that

00:33:01
there's a lot of stories that are are varied, right, And they

00:33:05
have their own either true accounts, right?

00:33:09
Somebody that you know, has has seen this creature out there.

00:33:14
But how do we start to perceive these things?

00:33:16
How we even accept them as real is because that's your cousin

00:33:20
goes out in the fields and they see this thing out there and

00:33:24
you're like, did you really see that?

00:33:26
Like notice that, right? Like we might think like, oh,

00:33:28
did you like want to question it?

00:33:29
But when you've heard these legends and these stories

00:33:31
already and you accept them as like, this is scary and this is

00:33:35
true. Then when somebody tells you

00:33:38
something like that, you're like, I know what you saw.

00:33:41
Somebody else did this, saw this thing too.

00:33:44
And then we start connecting it all the way down to like the

00:33:47
very origins of story, you know, when this start.

00:33:52
And I think that's the coolest thing is people like it has

00:33:54
crossed the mouths, has gotten out of the mouths of people who

00:33:59
once lived. And yet we're still remembering

00:34:02
these stories. I was asked a long time ago

00:34:05
about, you know, if if there's anything that I sense is like

00:34:08
purpose or something that I know I really like and what I would

00:34:13
call like the purpose of me of my life and stuff.

00:34:15
And I thought like, maybe not necessarily for me, but I know

00:34:19
that I feel this really strong sense of maintaining stories

00:34:24
alive. So, you know, when you walk by

00:34:27
cemeteries, you see a bunch of tombstones, right?

00:34:31
And that's all we see. But underneath those, those

00:34:34
people had 1 billion ideas. Some of them came out, they

00:34:40
shared them, they told them, showed them to the world.

00:34:44
Others are right there with them.

00:34:48
And that it doesn't really, I can't express that that itch to

00:34:54
try to get these stories out because it's they're going to

00:34:57
die with us. So while we're here, let's talk

00:35:01
about them or let's keep them alive.

00:35:03
Look how I find these stories so beautiful.

00:35:05
They're so cool. Speaking of that, now we're

00:35:08
going to jump into some of the stories that were submitted.

00:35:10
And thanks so much for for those of you who submitted stories

00:35:13
still Edwin at scarystory.com, if you have anything you want to

00:35:16
share with me so we can keep going over all this stuff in in

00:35:20
the upcoming episodes. This one's from Decal, says

00:35:24
Edwin. I want to partake in the

00:35:26
Hispanic heritage stories, but I don't really have an urban

00:35:29
legend type story that I can think of.

00:35:31
However, that I did want to mention that my Puerto Rican

00:35:35
grandmother was in an espiritista, a medium.

00:35:40
I recall my mother telling me so casually that her mom was a

00:35:43
medium, that they would have these seances or whatever you

00:35:46
call these meetings of a huge group of Puerto Rican ladies

00:35:49
sitting around the room or a table.

00:35:52
And my abuelita was ahead, the one wearing the white robe.

00:35:57
It was crazy to me because I hated going to my grandma's

00:35:59
house. It didn't feel right to me.

00:36:02
It's like there was some kind of heaviness there.

00:36:06
My uncle, so my grandma's son lived in the house because he

00:36:09
came back from Vietnam, a schizophrenic supposedly because

00:36:13
he made mention so many times of other people, entities, I

00:36:18
believe being in his room or living in that house in the

00:36:21
basement. So I thought this is not like a

00:36:24
legend type story, but it did scare me a lot to think my

00:36:28
grandma basically allowed herself to be inhabited by

00:36:31
spirits, demons, beings, ghost or whatever.

00:36:35
And my mom witnessed these meetings.

00:36:37
In fact, all these ladies would tell my mom how they could see

00:36:41
that she had the gift, but my mom did not follow that route

00:36:46
and I'm almost sure she had some type of gift because I could

00:36:49
never put anything past her. And she's like the FBI figuring

00:36:52
stuff out left and right and seeing things other people

00:36:55
don't. As far as like intuition, myself

00:36:58
and my daughter both have a little bit of that, but we have

00:37:01
dreams that come true and stuff like that.

00:37:03
So maybe it is something that runs in the family.

00:37:08
And then she shares a little bit of the like some data with about

00:37:13
the Espiritistas El Espiritismo, which is this this Puerto Rican

00:37:18
culture it has. My grandma and and mom are from

00:37:23
Puerto Rico, but the family did eventually move to Chicagoland

00:37:27
area where I grew up. My grandma continued these

00:37:30
practices here, but by the time I was born she had given that up

00:37:34
and focused more on the church. Now.

00:37:37
Here's some data on it. Since 1960s, Puerto Rican

00:37:40
culture being a medium or espiritista, was central to the

00:37:43
widespread spiritual belief system of Espiritismo, a fusion

00:37:48
of French Spiritism, popular Catholicism, and indigenous and

00:37:51
African folk traditions. This practice was a common way

00:37:55
for Puerto Ricans to connect with the spirit world for

00:37:57
healing, guidance and spiritual development.

00:38:01
That's super interesting to me and I'm going to be looking into

00:38:04
all that stuff. I was actually last year, I was

00:38:08
in Brazil and I learned a lot about all these spirits and

00:38:13
things that they that they have there is completely different

00:38:15
how they view ghosts and how they view the spirit world.

00:38:18
So something that's that's interesting in in in that sense,

00:38:21
right. But Puerto Ricans over on on

00:38:23
this side is is like a whole. It's a new world.

00:38:28
It's like a branch of it. But it's still, how are these

00:38:30
things so connected? It's very, very interesting.

00:38:35
And then obviously, here's the tease.

00:38:38
My grandmother father's side was a Cillian.

00:38:40
So I will save her stories for another time.

00:38:42
Hers had a lot to do with dreams and spiritual or demonic

00:38:45
presences. I hope you share that story too.

00:38:47
But thanks so much for this one decal.

00:38:49
And thank you so much for always following, following the the

00:38:52
show and for, for listening. And Adrian says, I initially

00:38:58
started listening to you from True Scary Story by accident at

00:39:01
night to go to sleep because of your voice.

00:39:04
But then I started looking for you and found you on Paranormal

00:39:06
Club and I never missed an episode.

00:39:09
Thanks for that. Yeah, actually, I'm going to, I

00:39:12
should start a service where I just lull people to sleep.

00:39:14
I think that might be a, a cool people do that.

00:39:17
There's podcasts that just send you to sleep.

00:39:19
I do that with audiobooks. I, I, I'm like 3 hours in and

00:39:21
I'm just like, well, what? And I have to go back like 2 1/2

00:39:24
hours. I also watched Bob's Burgers

00:39:27
replays. I think just watch the pilot

00:39:30
episode and I I'm out in like 8 minutes.

00:39:33
But anyway, continues. I wanted to tell you my story.

00:39:38
As a kid, I always saw spirit. My mom used to tell me that I

00:39:42
just had an active imagination. Fast forward to May 1999, I was

00:39:47
16. I had a dream, a vision of my

00:39:50
grandmother, my grandfather's funeral.

00:39:52
He was still alive at this point.

00:39:55
My grandfather was in his casket and my family was crying.

00:39:58
I looked to my right at the door and I saw a tall man that was

00:40:02
dark looking at me. He stood out because I didn't

00:40:05
remember seeing him standing there before.

00:40:08
In the front row is my granny, mom, 2 uncles, and my aunt all

00:40:14
seemed not to see him. I looked around to see if anyone

00:40:17
else sees him and no one does. So I looked back forward just in

00:40:21
time to see my grandmother turning her head back forward.

00:40:24
I woke up and ran to my mom's room crying and told her my

00:40:27
dream. Days later my mother had to

00:40:31
explain my dream to my granny said she said and she said hmm.

00:40:35
November 1999 my grandfather passed.

00:40:38
My mother started calling me the death seeker 'cause I could

00:40:41
always have dreams of certain family members passing before

00:40:44
they pass. I Fast forward to early 2013, my

00:40:48
granny finds out that she has cancer and she decided not to

00:40:51
let the family know until the birthday of April 2013 for she

00:40:56
passed July 2013. My granny told me that she knew

00:40:59
my grandfather was going to pass and confirm that she was in my

00:41:02
dream. She told me that she saw the

00:41:04
tall dark man that he was explaining to her that his time

00:41:08
was coming and other things that she did not tell me.

00:41:11
She said that she also advised her that I have the gift that I

00:41:14
was looking at him. She turned to look to let me

00:41:18
know to not be scared, but I wasn't looking.

00:41:22
That shocked me because I never knew she was present in my

00:41:25
dream. Thanks for letting me share my

00:41:27
story. Thanks so much for sharing that.

00:41:31
Like this is a it's a very personal story.

00:41:34
And sometimes we do get those types of messaging.

00:41:38
So this is, you know, we, we get that we receive messages from

00:41:42
the other side or we, we receive a little hint.

00:41:45
They need to warn us. You know, this is coming heads

00:41:47
up showing us that we're going to be fine, like everything's

00:41:52
going to be OK. This is going to be a little bit

00:41:54
rough for a little bit. And, you know, death is a very

00:41:57
interesting thing to me to think about because it's it's

00:42:01
inevitable. It's coming.

00:42:02
Everybody knows it. And yet it's so hard, right?

00:42:07
Like it's like this is like a piece of you just kind of leaves

00:42:10
and you're bound to go the rest of your life without it.

00:42:16
So it's pretty sad. It's it's sad to to think of it

00:42:20
like that. But also, you know, it's hard to

00:42:23
think of like, oh, we'll be grateful for what happened.

00:42:25
But you know, when people go through stuff like this is pain,

00:42:28
all we see is all we feel is pain.

00:42:29
Like it's not anything like, oh, we could just get over in time.

00:42:32
They say, oh, it heals it. It doesn't really heal.

00:42:34
It just kind of makes it manageable, right.

00:42:37
So it's pretty, it's pretty, pretty rough.

00:42:40
But thanks a lot for sharing, for sharing your story.

00:42:43
All right, so it's time for some of our rapid fire comments that

00:42:46
were received. Received a bunch, but they're

00:42:48
short, so we're going to go straight into it.

00:42:50
Here we go from resin Dis Hay says when my sister was about 12

00:42:55
years old, she went to visit my dad's family in Mexico with her

00:42:58
aunt at night. She and her aunt were walking

00:43:01
from my dad's house to my grandmother's house which is

00:43:03
about 5 minutes away, around the corner and up a hill.

00:43:07
After they turned the corner up at the top of the hill where my

00:43:10
grandmother's house is was one street light and right under it

00:43:15
was a huge black dog. It would had glowing red eyes

00:43:20
staring right at them. My aunt told my sister to slowly

00:43:24
bend down, grab a rock and get ready to throw it if needed.

00:43:29
They slowly made their way up the hill and into the house.

00:43:34
The dog only kept watching them but never ran at them or lunged.

00:43:38
When they got inside, they quickly locked the door and

00:43:40
found the entire family locked inside the kitchen, praying.

00:43:45
Our grandmother told them someone earlier had seen the

00:43:50
devil outside. Until the story continues.

00:43:55
When my dad was young in Queretaro, Mexico, he and his

00:43:58
friends went up a mountain at night to try to see the brujas.

00:44:02
There are two mountains where you can often see what looks

00:44:04
like fireballs jumping back and forth between them like fleas

00:44:08
and like those are brujas. That night as they were going

00:44:12
home down the mountain, they noticed that there was a Turkey

00:44:14
following them. Driver had a gun with him and he

00:44:18
tried to shoot at it. As they drove away, they didn't

00:44:21
see if the Turkey got shot or not and kept on their way.

00:44:25
A few minutes later they hear a loud thud in the bed of the

00:44:29
truck. They looked there was a Turkey.

00:44:33
The driver tried to shoot it again, but the gun was jammed.

00:44:37
They drove in zigzags to try and knock the Turkey out to no

00:44:40
avail. And all of a sudden the truck's

00:44:42
front wheel went down in a hole on the road that wasn't there

00:44:46
earlier. They didn't notice it earlier in

00:44:49
the day when they went up the mountain.

00:44:51
The Turkey had disappeared and they came up with a plan to get

00:44:55
the wheel out and they got it out.

00:44:59
They speed home to the driver's house and they all agree that no

00:45:01
one wanted to go home alone that night.

00:45:04
So they they all huddled in one room and slept until morning.

00:45:11
Jerry says Mayabuelito's house in Mexico has a well, and that

00:45:15
well allegedly has gold centenarios that date back to

00:45:19
the revolution. Those are like coins.

00:45:22
Many people have died trying to get to the centenarios and their

00:45:25
spirits linger. And many people claim to have

00:45:27
seen those people around the house.

00:45:31
Crazy Skeleton 666 says. My mom, my younger brother,

00:45:35
younger sister and myself have all seen that same spirit.

00:45:40
He has a long trench coat with a collar flicked up so you can see

00:45:43
his face and a cowboy hat. Not scary, he's just chill.

00:45:47
Just sort of just sort of watch watches us, but definitely

00:45:51
weird, the lithe cleaver says. My mom and all my family have

00:45:58
heard her great grandpa make his rounds around the house and

00:46:01
finally sit in his rocking chair the night after he had his wake.

00:46:09
Che bruising cowboy boots, says My mom crossed paths with

00:46:14
Lyonna, but she managed to run. She was sick for days, hanging

00:46:18
on to life by a thread. Luckily she recovered.

00:46:26
It's your girl, Liz says. My mom told me one time as she

00:46:29
was younger, my grandma was hanging up clothes outside and

00:46:32
she saw a big huge black bird. My mom saw my grandma getting

00:46:37
attacked by this huge bird and they said that it was a lady

00:46:40
that liked my grandpa and did something to my grandma.

00:46:46
After that attack, my grandma's face was bleeding and was left

00:46:49
with a lot of scars in her face, E6J18 says.

00:46:56
My Swaggera was chased by the devil.

00:46:59
She's also seen the Santa Muerte.

00:47:00
When she was a kid, someone called her by her name right by

00:47:04
her ear. As she was going to sleep, my

00:47:06
mom saw a black Angel hovering my newborn sister.

00:47:12
And there's a lot more. My Swaggera thought she would

00:47:15
could make like an hour or so podcast of all the stuff that

00:47:17
she's been through, May says. My uncle has a ranch with a lot

00:47:23
of land, and next to the main house there is a well.

00:47:27
The room where I used to sleep had a huge window from where you

00:47:29
could see the well. He used to say that you could

00:47:34
hear someone in the night pulling water from it.

00:47:39
Didi says. In Guatemala, my aunt saw the

00:47:41
devil following her one night. She was coming home from a

00:47:45
party. In those times, the streets were

00:47:47
quiet. There was a bunch of trees.

00:47:53
There's a comment that I left on my own post.

00:47:56
Not not ashamed, Edwin Coe says. My aunt and my 3 cousins lived

00:48:02
in a small house in the Sonoran Desert in Mexico when this

00:48:05
happened. They were kind of winding down

00:48:07
for the night on their phones or whatever when suddenly the

00:48:10
youngest 1A teen at the time noticed the white ball that was

00:48:14
floating down the hallway and into his room, getting lost

00:48:17
under the bed. Her older sister, the middle

00:48:20
child, got up and asked him if he had seen that same thing and

00:48:24
he said yeah. So they called up the eldest

00:48:26
sibling and looked everywhere but couldn't find anything

00:48:29
resembling that ball. They all described it as a type

00:48:32
of foam or sponge, white, and that it floated.

00:48:36
My aunt has also witnessed, also witnessed it and no one can

00:48:40
explain what it was or what it could have been.

00:48:42
As an aside, their home is a block away from the cemetery,

00:48:46
and the area nearby behind the development has been known to be

00:48:49
the site of unidentified bodies being found there.

00:48:53
Urkelgru says Primos in Mexico say at night that they can hear

00:48:58
cadenas being dragged. The whole Cadenas thing was very

00:49:02
interesting to me because I mentioned the story recently on,

00:49:06
on, on I think on Instagram. And it was about my parents and

00:49:10
how they used to live in the northern part of Sonora Nogales.

00:49:16
And they when they were, they were just making it where they

00:49:19
were young, right? And they were, they used to say

00:49:24
that around the place where they lived, they could hear this pig

00:49:30
that was with a saddle and it would just like kind of you

00:49:33
could hear its metal clinging like as it was going down.

00:49:37
Like imagine a pig with a saddle going up and down the streets

00:49:42
and like the neighbors would say they could they could hear it

00:49:45
really interesting. See how all these stories

00:49:47
trigger something like I remember something about them.

00:49:49
But I'm interested in knowing if you have any stories that you

00:49:53
were you thought of what we were explaining all these and while

00:49:55
people were suggesting or commenting their own their own

00:49:58
stories. But there's obviously a whole

00:50:02
lot more that we can go into as far as like folk tales and

00:50:05
legends. So there's anything in

00:50:06
particular that you want to hear or you're curious about?

00:50:09
I heard also heard like the stories of like Laorona is a

00:50:12
very, very famous one. But there's a very deep tie or

00:50:16
historical story. There's a historical story,

00:50:20
There's a very deep tie with what Laorona means and theories

00:50:26
and works on it. If you're interested in finding

00:50:28
out more about that or anything else now, Wallace or other

00:50:33
legends that I can help with or I can help help your research,

00:50:39
let me know so that we can make an episode out of it.

00:50:42
And from our last episode, the When Urban Legends Become Real,

00:50:47
let's go through some of the comments that we got done there.

00:50:49
Right. So these are, yeah, we're kind

00:50:52
of few pretty cool, Blanca says. I live in San Antonio.

00:50:56
We've been at the railroad tracks.

00:50:57
Nothing ever happened. Look up the donkey lady story.

00:50:59
OK, I'm kind of worried about the donkey lady looking that up,

00:51:02
but I will. And yes, I've heard that some

00:51:06
people go and actually they fixed that road.

00:51:09
Might have been because of that. I don't know, Nina Simone says.

00:51:12
I've seen the the spitting of the alcohol on people.

00:51:15
I've even experienced it. I think even maybe the leaves or

00:51:18
whatever it is done as well. It was high energy.

00:51:20
And afterwards I slept. Yeah.

00:51:22
You know what we're talking here about the Lempias, right?

00:51:25
The cleansing, spiritual cleansing.

00:51:27
And I've seen this and I've seen people get really, like, they

00:51:30
say that they get really relaxed after that.

00:51:33
So there has to be something that works, right?

00:51:36
Like, it's, I mean, there's a reason why people keep doing it.

00:51:39
I don't know. Natalia says.

00:51:43
Thank you for all your podcasts. You're all great.

00:51:45
When possible, can you do an episode about scary pet stories?

00:51:48
That's a good one. That's a good one.

00:51:50
Pet Stories. Oh, that's good.

00:51:53
I'm gonna I just added it to my to my list.

00:51:56
Thanks a lot for for that. Leslie 010 says hi.

00:52:00
You started listening to your podcast and it's so interesting.

00:52:02
I think you should cover some now wild stories.

00:52:04
I should have looked at this. OK, let's do it.

00:52:07
Let's do it now what? I think this is a good one and

00:52:09
it fits our topics. Adriana says another great

00:52:13
episode, going back to the last episode on Subliminal Messages.

00:52:16
I had to take a break because for some reason hearing music

00:52:18
backwards has always scared the crap out of me.

00:52:21
I've always associated with evil.

00:52:23
Oh, and imagine looking through those things too.

00:52:25
Like I was. Yeah, it creeps me out.

00:52:27
It creeps me out. But I was looking through these

00:52:29
songs, like playing the whole song sometimes to see if I hear

00:52:33
anything weird. To kind of disprove this.

00:52:35
It'd be like, oh, well, I also heard this.

00:52:37
I also heard this. But man, it, it got me.

00:52:42
Like, it got me dizzy. Like just listening to that,

00:52:44
it's not natural. M4 Diaz says hi.

00:52:49
So I really interested in this type of stuff.

00:52:51
My dog died 4 years ago and I kept seeing a dog figure in my

00:52:53
house multiple times. So I think it could be her my it

00:52:59
might happen, it might happen That's really scary but also

00:53:05
might be kind of comforting, right?

00:53:06
I don't know, it depends on how you see it.

00:53:10
BH Murdoch says, I don't know what you're talking about my is,

00:53:14
but about my aunt always told me of a story where she used to

00:53:17
live in Georgia about a mother whose husband paid more

00:53:20
attention to a child. So she added the baby to the

00:53:23
husband's lunch one day. I also have a gravity hill in

00:53:28
new, new North Carolina, North Carolina.

00:53:32
Sorry, I was trying to see and see what it what it was not

00:53:35
where I live. I've done it.

00:53:38
It's a crazy feeling. Last thing, you should research

00:53:40
Lydia's Bridge in Jamestown, NC for the Horror Stories podcast.

00:53:44
Such a big deal they had to shut down the road to stop people

00:53:47
from going to it. All right, all right, OK.

00:53:52
We got some really good ideas here.

00:53:53
Yoda here also says we grew up with Resurrection Mary, who's

00:53:57
who's in Resurrection Cemetery in Justice, IL.

00:53:59
You should check it out. OK, this is super cool.

00:54:04
Super, super cool. All right, thanks so much for

00:54:06
the comments and for the comments too on, on on our

00:54:09
socials. Those are super cool, super

00:54:11
helpful too, to like add to this kind of thing.

00:54:14

00:55:17
about, keep the ideas coming and I'll keep the episodes going.

00:55:20
That's all for now. Thank you so much for listening

00:55:23
