Can your dreams show you something that your mind doesn't know? Because there was a project back in the 1960s and 1970s that experimented with exactly this. They put participants to focus on random images and have them "send" them to sleeping counterparts. The results pointed to the existence of telepathy.
What do you dream about? Let me know!

We are going to try to solve a very interesting question here.
00:00:04
Can your dreams tell you something or know something that
00:00:08
your mind does not? Can you receive messages in your
00:00:13
dreams? Like actual messages?
00:00:16
You're only thinking this is weird why you're asking me that,
00:00:18
right? Well, I heard about this
00:00:20
experiment that happened in the 60s and 70s where people, actual
00:00:27
subjects for a test were tested on just this.
00:00:32
You have a sender and you have a receiver.
00:00:35
Can they receive these messages while they are sleeping?
00:00:38
And these were meticulously noted and observed and they
00:00:42
found of some very interesting results.
00:00:45
You ready? My name is Edwin and this is
00:00:49
Paranormal Club. Spookies, Welcome back to
00:00:58
another episode of Paranormal Club.
00:01:00
Super cool you're here please forgive my voice this time
00:01:04
around. I've I've just had extreme like
00:01:07
serious serious allergies, but that's something else.
00:01:10
Let's just get into into this thing.
00:01:12
We have some big words coming up I might have some definitions
00:01:15
for you have big words psychoanalysis collective
00:01:19
consciousness. I mean, this is pretty big word
00:01:23
for me. I, I think, but we're going to
00:01:27
try to tackle one of these questions because telepathy
00:01:30
might not be as paranormal or as supernatural as you might think
00:01:34
it is. There was one really famous
00:01:36
person that you might, you might have heard about if you've ever
00:01:39
taken a psych, psych class, you know, psychology class.
00:01:42
And he believed he didn't actually want to get into the
00:01:46
whole telepathy and communication like that because
00:01:51
he was, it was risky, right? And I'm talking about Freud
00:01:54
here. A lot of us might know as Freud
00:01:57
as this guy who was obsessed with SEX or with, I don't know,
00:02:03
other things that's kind of have to deal with our inner desire to
00:02:09
do things and stuff like that. So he was on the edge of that.
00:02:12
And a lot of his teachings are still obviously taught today.
00:02:15
And we learn, we get to learn about it sometimes uncomfortably
00:02:18
in 9th grade when you are around classmates who are very
00:02:25
immature. I don't know why I just cut this
00:02:28
memory. Like my eyes just change on
00:02:30
that. Jeez.
00:02:31
Anyway, so we're going to go over some of that and also some
00:02:35
of the, the other ideas of premonitions and actual things
00:02:40
that might show you that it, it is possible for us to catch
00:02:46
things, messages from out there. They might be trying to tell us
00:02:50
something. So let's start off with some of
00:02:53
the definitions here, right? Telepathy might not be a
00:02:59
paranormal kind of thing, right? It might not be considered that
00:03:02
there's some theories that are supernatural in nature that have
00:03:05
to do with telepathy, that we, some people are granted this
00:03:08
gift. They can send out messages that
00:03:11
can receive messages not just from people, but from ghosts and
00:03:15
entities, sometimes medium kind of style abilities, even though
00:03:19
medium is a whole other, a whole other thing.
00:03:23
And then what is called psychoanalysis, which is a
00:03:27
technique, several techniques or ways that we can analyze
00:03:30
telepathy. And then there are the
00:03:33
questions, right, which are, First off, can we communicate
00:03:38
with people? Can people receive messages
00:03:41
through their dreams, basically? So that's what we're going to go
00:03:45
into and into the whole, the whole thing.
00:03:47
Let's start talking about Freud again, right?
00:03:50
Freud was afraid of a couple of things.
00:03:53
He was like, OK, I'm trying to teach people something about
00:03:59
psychology and our psychic, not psychic, psychic, psychic is
00:04:05
what he was afraid of, of being connected to.
00:04:08
But he still kind of believed that the people have this kind
00:04:15
of telepathic ability, right? And you can tell if you follow
00:04:18
his worry, by the way, he was around in the 1920s, way before
00:04:22
some of the modern theories of physics came about that show you
00:04:26
that, yeah, some, there might be something else out there because
00:04:29
the whole universe is connected in little waves or threads of
00:04:33
energy that surround us at all time.
00:04:35
So space between particles, time between particles might not be a
00:04:41
big factor. When this gets deep into all
00:04:44
this stuff depends on how deep you want to go into the rabbit
00:04:48
hole. But the idea here was that
00:04:50
Freud, as you read his words from the 1920s, as the years
00:04:54
progress, he starts kind of agreeing into telepathy.
00:04:59
And near the end of this, you can kind of hear him support it.
00:05:05
And I found it interesting because he was a a leading
00:05:09
voice. He was a serious person that
00:05:12
people trusted and believed in. So he, he was saying that, yeah,
00:05:15
you know what? People have this just, it's not
00:05:17
this ability that you grow. It's not this ability that you,
00:05:21
you know, develop as you're growing.
00:05:24
But it's more of a, hey, we just have that ability.
00:05:26
Like naturally this is what we can do.
00:05:28
We should be, we, we should be able to communicate, receive
00:05:31
messages in this way. Now, this gets obviously way
00:05:34
more complicated than than what I just explained to you right
00:05:38
now, because we're not always on for catching these things like
00:05:45
these messages that are out there.
00:05:47
Sometimes our dreams bring us into that state where we're more
00:05:52
relaxed, more in that state of consciousness that can receive
00:05:56
all these messages, which is why we can receive messages in our
00:05:59
dreams. Now, why do dreams matter so
00:06:03
much? Now, this is a thing.
00:06:06
This is not supposed to be some kind of motivational thing where
00:06:09
you're supposed to, you know, dream and all your dreams come
00:06:12
true and all that, but more like, hey, are are your dreams
00:06:16
trying to save your life or your dreams trying to kill you or
00:06:18
your dreams trying to warn you about something or you're like,
00:06:21
these are just messages that are there.
00:06:23
They're not like there's no purpose.
00:06:25
There's just like a message there.
00:06:27
You know, this, this is how, how strange this gets because
00:06:32
they're not clear, like they're just little snippets there.
00:06:37
And here is some of the stuff that I found here, right?
00:06:42
Dreams reduce our censorship, right?
00:06:47
Right now, we might be familiar with some of the things that we
00:06:49
can say or cannot say. You know, there's, there's
00:06:53
people that are attracted to people and they never want to
00:06:57
mention it ever in their lives. There's people that have secrets
00:07:02
that they never want people to find out.
00:07:03
However, in your dreams, you can live all these as much as you
00:07:07
want. There's no limits.
00:07:11
If you want to fly right now at the window, you can in your
00:07:14
dreams, right? It, it can happen like there's
00:07:16
no stop signs in your dreams. So it can let your mind flow
00:07:22
into whatever you want. It's also important to know here
00:07:26
that dreams operates with senses and images and connection of
00:07:32
things like how our house might be attached to our family, like
00:07:36
little things like that. Also we can rationalize things
00:07:41
like with with emotional, emotional decisions I guess.
00:07:46
So we can just let that guide us.
00:07:48
There's no physical limits. There's nothing like that,
00:07:50
right? Dreams are pretty cool also
00:07:52
because there's a thing, a note here that I have, which is
00:07:55
language dominance, which means that we don't need to, we don't
00:07:58
have problems with communicating in our dreams.
00:08:00
We can just say what we feel. There's no like, what's that
00:08:03
word again? Nothing like that.
00:08:05
It just goes, We go straight into that.
00:08:08
So now that we have those rules established, we can start
00:08:11
talking about the Maimonides Dreams Telepathy Project.
00:08:17
The studies. Maimonides.
00:08:19
This is a interesting name, Maimonides.
00:08:22
I hope I'm pronouncing it right. Let me just Maimonides.
00:08:27
Yeah. Now, the Maimonides studies were
00:08:30
the series of tests that were established in the 19 in the
00:08:33
1960s and 1970s. Their purpose was to find out if
00:08:39
people can receive messages in their dreams.
00:08:41
And this had a pretty simple setup.
00:08:44
First off, you would have one person concentrating on this
00:08:48
image. Just like imagine a broccoli
00:08:53
dancing on a boat on a lake. Very visual, right?
00:09:01
You can picture that. Now look at how random that is,
00:09:04
right? That would probably be too
00:09:06
complicated for a person to catch because nobody can imagine
00:09:10
that. You're never going to actually
00:09:12
imagine a broccoli dancing on a something floating on a lake,
00:09:17
like it's not going to happen, right?
00:09:18
So it needs to be kind of simple but random.
00:09:20
So let's focus on a backpack, right?
00:09:25
And you're looking at the backpack.
00:09:26
This person's really, really intentionally looking at it.
00:09:29
And you have a receiver, which is another person that is
00:09:33
dreaming. It's actually sleeping in the
00:09:35
sleep lap. Once the person gets, you know,
00:09:38
wakes up, they go and they ask them, hey, what you dream about?
00:09:42
Could you imagine that waking up, what you dream about?
00:09:45
Hey, tell me, Tell me about your dream.
00:09:46
It's actually what happened with them.
00:09:48
And they would explain their dreams.
00:09:50
They would talk about their dreams.
00:09:51
And the transcript would be sent out to a series of judges.
00:09:56
And those people would say, hey, yeah, this person and this image
00:10:01
match, they did get sent that. And they did receive that.
00:10:06
And they had to be like blind tests.
00:10:09
But they never found out who was attached to who or what days
00:10:12
they were together. Like I said, you would have one
00:10:14
person, right? One person sleeping, one person
00:10:17
concentrating on an image. They would do the experiment
00:10:22
next day, try it again. I think that's how I imagine it
00:10:24
because it's, it's a very complex kind of thing for me to
00:10:27
to get. But they, when there was a
00:10:32
match, they would say, yeah, this is a match, but they didn't
00:10:34
know what they were connecting like as in if they were the the
00:10:38
right day. So that makes sense.
00:10:40
The point here is if there was a connection to it, they would
00:10:44
like this tried over and over and over again.
00:10:47
They would be able to correlate if this is true or not be with
00:10:51
actual numbers and statistics. Now, I took stats in in college
00:10:56
and in high school, and so that was pretty cool.
00:10:59
Now, I can tell you that when something's considered
00:11:02
statistically significant, that means that it's more, it means
00:11:08
like it's not, it wasn't up to chance, like it wasn't a
00:11:13
coincidence that it happened. There was something slightly
00:11:15
higher than coincidence that made it work.
00:11:18
And that's the kind of result that they ended up getting.
00:11:22
They actually found some samples that were beyond 100% with
00:11:27
accuracy. I mean, not with accuracy, but
00:11:29
like beyond this factor, this, this fact, this number that we,
00:11:36
that they use in statistics, which tells you that there was
00:11:39
something that is just kind of like kind of an anomaly,
00:11:43
something that is so like was getting it right the whole time.
00:11:47
So they started analyzing how come, like, how come there's
00:11:52
some anomalies here? What's up with that?
00:11:55
Later on, as we're finding out, they found out that this the
00:12:00
people that were creating this experiment actually got people
00:12:05
to participate in it that were already proven to be good at
00:12:09
telepathy to have that ability or at least developed it a
00:12:14
little bit better. So then they tried again, you
00:12:19
know, with people that they were trying to find out, find talent,
00:12:22
people who had this ability to it.
00:12:25
And even though there was still a little bit lower like the
00:12:28
chances of them matching the dreams to the this was actually
00:12:31
true that it was possible for a person imagining focusing on
00:12:35
this image to transfer that to another person that was
00:12:38
dreaming. They found out that even them
00:12:43
people that didn't have abilities to do that, the
00:12:45
results still show that there was still, it wasn't a
00:12:50
coincidence that it wasn't just chance.
00:12:53
Some of them were getting messages from the dreams.
00:12:57
A little confusing, I know. But basically it meant that,
00:13:00
yeah, we can kind of show you with numbers that not everybody
00:13:03
can transfer and communicate and receive images in their dreams.
00:13:08
But it's possible, like it's more possible now because it's
00:13:13
not just chance. This is so confusing to to say.
00:13:16
It's like you already know. So it's not like it's it's not
00:13:20
just possible, but it's probable now.
00:13:22
I could have just said that. Anyway, so we look at those
00:13:26
results and we can be like, OK, yeah, there was just that series
00:13:28
of experiments. Why didn't they keep it going?
00:13:31
Why don't we have those tests going on right now?
00:13:34
And it really all came down to money, right?
00:13:38
Because these were so intense, you know, people, because
00:13:43
cheating would obviously just completely ruin their
00:13:46
experiment. As in they need to be careful
00:13:48
with all that stuff. And it, it was like people were
00:13:53
monitoring other people sleeping.
00:13:56
And you know, what's what sucks here is that they would have to
00:13:59
keep waking them up during like to, to make sure that they, they
00:14:03
spill their, their dream, right? Because those people that
00:14:07
actually don't sleep that well are the ones that can remember
00:14:11
the dreams the most. I didn't know that.
00:14:13
Or maybe that that's not like a 400% fact, but they started
00:14:16
noting making those kind of observations.
00:14:19
Now in today's like day and age, they ended up having more
00:14:22
experiments with this kind of thing.
00:14:24
And the experiments were a little bit different actually.
00:14:26
They had people sometimes even across continents that were
00:14:31
focusing on a keyword. Like one of them would focus on
00:14:33
an image or a keyword and just really focus on it to try to
00:14:36
transfer it to them. I'm saying like far away person
00:14:39
in Australia, the other person in some others part of the
00:14:41
world. And they found a strange
00:14:45
connection. This is what makes this really
00:14:48
cool. Imagine the word sushi, right,
00:14:54
that the other person received as a Swiss cake roll.
00:14:59
I don't know what a Swiss cake roll is.
00:15:01
And this is one of those kind of Twinkie kind of things, but they
00:15:07
kind of look like the same. It's like a roll or a cylinder
00:15:12
kind of thing, right? The word strawberry, you know,
00:15:16
this one was weird, but the image that they ended up
00:15:19
receiving was this red distorted symbolic image of a red chat
00:15:24
box. I don't know what chat box is,
00:15:26
but I can imagine because strawberries, weird man.
00:15:30
Like the strawberries, Strawberries are really weirdly
00:15:33
shaped. Are they triangles, Combs
00:15:36
sometimes. You ever seen the strawberries?
00:15:37
I have like the double little butt.
00:15:40
Like what do you call little legs?
00:15:43
Stubs? I don't know what they're
00:15:44
called, but like, what the heck? I'm sorry.
00:15:48
Strawberries are really weird. I mean, they are, I mean they
00:15:51
they taste really good, but like, and they have a lot of
00:15:53
little dots like the seeds on the outside.
00:15:57
Have you thought about how weird strawberries are?
00:15:59
I don't think you, I don't think you have.
00:16:02
But that's really hard to communicate with somebody who's
00:16:04
just see this distorted thing. Another kind of thing was this
00:16:09
this one was interesting was about a playing card and they
00:16:13
had they're focusing on this card, but it wasn't like a
00:16:15
regular prank playing card. It was like a they've tried to
00:16:18
like trick the person. This is a novelty card and it
00:16:21
had little clouds on it. Now, I don't know how you draw
00:16:24
clouds, but I kind of draw them like little, I don't know,
00:16:30
imagine. Oh, there's actually how they
00:16:32
did it. The other person was really
00:16:34
frustrated and they were like, I just see this car, but I can't
00:16:38
tell what it is. I just see a bunch of little
00:16:39
threes on it. Now I'm like, that's how I kind
00:16:42
of draw my clouds like threes all around.
00:16:47
So they were like, oh, that's actually what happened.
00:16:50
There's little clouds that kind of look like threes.
00:16:52
So strange. So what this, what this showed
00:16:57
us was that dreams and images that get transferred in this way
00:17:04
aren't like the clear images or words as we know them.
00:17:09
This is what we want to get into the strange concept of these
00:17:14
feelings and senses that we get from words and images.
00:17:20
When I was a little kid, I used to think that certain words had
00:17:25
like a a certain sense to them. Let me know if this this this is
00:17:31
like on the edge of like our minds here, right?
00:17:35
So I need you to to stay with me.
00:17:37
I used to think that when a person like, for example,
00:17:40
chopped a, a, a lettuce and you heard that crunch, my mind, I
00:17:48
don't know why, but it, it connected it to like mayonnaise
00:17:51
and that creamy jar kind of you, you scoop something up, had that
00:17:55
same feeling. And I can't describe how or why
00:18:00
that's what it was. And one time, this is when I was
00:18:02
already in college, I remember mentioning this to a friend and
00:18:07
I was like, her name was Stephanie.
00:18:08
I think that was a long time ago.
00:18:11
I was like, you know, that sense that you get what you're like
00:18:15
you're eating a chicken wing and there's like the smooth nerve
00:18:17
part on the edge. I'm like that sense.
00:18:21
I can kind of remember it, but I don't know where it comes from.
00:18:24
And everybody was looking at me like, what?
00:18:26
But Stephanie was like, I know exactly what you mean.
00:18:29
Like, there are certain things that just feel a certain way,
00:18:32
almost taste a certain way, but that doesn't make any sense.
00:18:39
There's a bunch of examples like this.
00:18:40
And I don't want you to be nervous or shy about sharing
00:18:43
these things. This is really weird.
00:18:45
I also used to think that the name Jose meant a box.
00:18:49
Like, I just imagine this reddish box with holes on the
00:18:54
side. It was really weird.
00:18:57
And I remember talking to my sister about this, too, when we
00:18:59
were growing up. I was like, don't, doesn't that
00:19:01
remind you of this? And she would be like, yeah, a
00:19:04
little bit. Then we kind of lost it.
00:19:06
Like we kind of just lost the the sense that I'm talking about
00:19:09
here. And I know that might have just
00:19:11
sounded like a bunch of gibberish too, like a bunch of
00:19:13
made-up stuff. But I swear like this is what
00:19:16
what? It's like this, this is what
00:19:18
when I was reading this, I connected those two things
00:19:20
immediately because it's a form that transfers not quite the
00:19:25
image, but sometimes if it's if the image is connected to a
00:19:28
sense, a certain sensation that's going to transfer.
00:19:32
It's really strange. Now here is the thing about
00:19:36
telepathy, right, by the way. But the heck is telepathy is
00:19:39
being able to send messages with your mind.
00:19:41
Supposedly, I like to think of things like Pokémon and Sabrina,
00:19:47
one of the gym leaders. Whole other topic, right?
00:19:51
But telepathy supposedly does not work like a radio.
00:19:56
Say no, it's not a walkie-talkie.
00:19:57
Is that something that you're like group?
00:19:59
Hey, so and so, yeah, or this and that?
00:20:04
You can't. It's not a text message that you
00:20:07
sent through your mind. It's not like that what it is.
00:20:12
It's more like what they call here emotional resonance,
00:20:16
pattern matching or shared symbolic space.
00:20:21
So that can mean anything from like a sensation you feel
00:20:26
whether that's, I don't know if, if it, if you're, I'm trying to
00:20:30
communicate with you a happy place, you might imagine it as
00:20:35
your happy place. But for me it was like then that
00:20:38
message kind of went through and it went to you in that and you
00:20:41
translated it. It's really weird.
00:20:45
And it's more like an idea that you feel instead of like
00:20:49
something that you see or you read or somebody tells you a
00:20:51
message. It's not like that, right?
00:20:53
So how this works is they say that it has its own language
00:21:02
that is not something that you learn, but like you can kind of
00:21:04
identify like we're getting here.
00:21:09
I'm not getting frustrated. I'm just trying to find ways to,
00:21:14
to explain it without confusing myself even more.
00:21:19
Because when something is in a certain language and you can
00:21:24
kind of idea the way that I can sense it, the way that I can
00:21:28
understand that is with feeling, right?
00:21:31
Or with certain things that everybody in the whole world can
00:21:34
experience. Like you eat a lemon, you make
00:21:36
that face like this, right? You go into a dark place and you
00:21:44
see this creepy figure. You feel the same chill.
00:21:48
That's a language everybody can understand that, right?
00:21:51
It's not so much like the OK 'cause this means something
00:21:54
else, like the OK sign means something else in another other
00:21:57
places. But maybe it's more like when
00:22:01
you can't breathe, then you need to say like can't, like people
00:22:05
can understand that something burns or something's, but like
00:22:08
you touch something hot, everybody reacts the same way
00:22:10
like right, or like this or like that kind of thing with your
00:22:15
food to, to cool down. It's that kind of that kind of
00:22:18
language. And that's kind of like what
00:22:19
dreams, what telepathy is. Suppose you can communicate in
00:22:23
that way. I kind of mentioned the idea of
00:22:27
something that the whole world can understand, and that's where
00:22:29
we get into the whole young and collective unconscious.
00:22:32
Not collective consciousness, but the collective unconscious.
00:22:36
And this word young is pronounced.
00:22:39
It's read as John. Really, it should be like Young.
00:22:44
Young proposed that there was a deeper layer than just a
00:22:48
personal experience saying that do we have this shared psychic
00:22:53
foundation across humanity? That means everybody that lives
00:22:57
before that lived before us left this thing or all the
00:23:01
experiences are all with us at all times?
00:23:04
Sounds bizarre, but then again, how can we know certain things
00:23:10
like I don't know what like the whole that what I just told you,
00:23:14
like the lemon. I don't know love, hate, anger.
00:23:19
How do we how do we know that that's part of something that
00:23:21
are we born with that? What's something that you're
00:23:24
born with that? Do you just know that you're
00:23:29
supposed to? Do you ever wonder that?
00:23:31
Like how dogs all seem to like chicken or or beef.
00:23:39
Maybe I'm getting old too, too far here, but this was the thing
00:23:45
where it says like minds are meeting in the same deep layer.
00:23:49
And I found that very interesting because if I go into
00:23:52
this, I know I can go way, way, way down the rabbit hole, think
00:23:55
about all this as much as I can. And I'm pretty pretty much
00:23:58
guaranteed that I'm not going to find answers to this because all
00:24:03
these are just theories, right? Some of these being kind of
00:24:06
proved, but they're still just theories.
00:24:09
Like there's no definitive this is what we do and there's no
00:24:14
actual purpose to it except that we know that we can communicate
00:24:17
like that. Now, the idea here is that
00:24:21
there's this primordial image that early human consciousness
00:24:26
was pre verbal, embodied and based on images.
00:24:30
But that meant that that dreams bring us back to that same
00:24:35
primordial, primordial image that.
00:24:39
Yeah, the whole there is no language here, there's no books,
00:24:44
there's nothing. We just have this very primal
00:24:49
way of communicating. And suppose that's how it's done
00:24:52
only through dreams. And the communication there
00:24:55
happens right away with symbols and with emotions.
00:25:00
So telepathy may be an ancient form of communication, like a
00:25:04
very, very ancient form of how we communicate.
00:25:07
And it's still accessible under the right conditions, which
00:25:10
means while you're sleeping or while you're in that perfect
00:25:13
state to receive, which might still, we might still have to
00:25:17
figure out now, when is this more most likely to happen?
00:25:25
I, when I, when I think of this, I think of scary stories and
00:25:29
some of the experiences that I get to hear about a lot, which
00:25:32
is people in the middle of the night waking up to see this
00:25:36
terrifying figure above them. It's way more common than you
00:25:40
think it is. And it can happen to people who
00:25:44
said that this could never happen to them.
00:25:46
And what child? I'm just saying to, to be
00:25:49
careful here, right? But it's not just dreams.
00:25:52
There's also other things that can trigger it, which is things
00:25:55
like intense emotion, people, you know, that are undergoing
00:25:59
grief, undergoing grief, trauma, crisis, stress, like the
00:26:05
pandemic that happened. They're actually a bunch of
00:26:07
studies that came out about people having the same dreams,
00:26:11
feeling trapped, feeling anxious, feeling like you're out
00:26:15
of control, like, as in other things are controlling you,
00:26:18
which makes sense, right? Because that's kind of how we
00:26:20
were all in the pandemic. Very interesting to know and
00:26:23
interested to know and how or what you did during the
00:26:26
pandemic. What were you doing?
00:26:27
I remember it clearly. I was at home.
00:26:30
I was actually working. Yeah.
00:26:33
Going to an Amazon warehouse. I will, yeah.
00:26:37
That was terrible. So everybody was at home.
00:26:40
So it was a lot of work. Also.
00:26:43
It can also be type. It can also happen with deep
00:26:47
emotional bonds, as in with close relationships, people who
00:26:51
are, you know, attached to you like as in maybe how you're
00:26:53
attached to your pet. Maybe you both can communicate
00:26:55
in the same way. You don't realize it.
00:26:58
Therapeutic rap report. The analytic relationship is
00:27:03
designed for this kind of attunement, so it just kind of
00:27:09
naturally happens. Now, why does this matter?
00:27:12
Right? Why are we even, why are we even
00:27:14
interested in telepathy? It doesn't make any sense.
00:27:17
Like, OK, yeah, we can communicate.
00:27:19
OK, cool. It's like, it's like, why are we
00:27:22
wondering why we breathe? Like, why why do we do this?
00:27:25
Why? Why?
00:27:27
Well, sometimes when you're trying to analyze a patient's
00:27:33
like a patient, sometimes they say that these dreams keep
00:27:36
recurring and you're trying to use them like, do these symbols
00:27:40
mean anything? Another thing is that dreams
00:27:44
might be able to, to tell somebody something or tell your,
00:27:47
do you something, something that's bothering you, something
00:27:50
that's happening because there is no conscious, like there's no
00:27:56
breaks, there's no stop signs. You know, there's nothing
00:28:00
telling your mind. Hey, don't go there.
00:28:04
Like it just goes, right. So whatever might be happening
00:28:08
with you, your minds or, or your dreams or just trying to bring
00:28:12
it back out, right? And, and you can see it through
00:28:14
symbols and stuff like that. So another thing is that the,
00:28:20
you know, things that get transmitted through those things
00:28:22
are not facts or anything like that.
00:28:24
Like they're, they're no, there's no words like that.
00:28:27
It's not the same thing. They're just emotional states
00:28:31
that are happening. Also, sometimes it feels like
00:28:35
our unconscious minds sometimes seem to pick up things that we
00:28:39
don't realize, like we we or that we don't want to notice,
00:28:45
right? Sometimes we might think of this
00:28:47
as like the gut feeling, but like sometimes our unconscious
00:28:50
mind notices something. Our conscious mind kind of
00:28:54
ignores it, but we still know that something's there.
00:29:00
Are there any things that happened in your in your life
00:29:02
that you feel like you know or you knew already she just can't
00:29:09
put your finger on to like how do you happen to know that it
00:29:12
might be your unconscious mind picking something up?
00:29:16
There's a thought. So as we're trying to get to
00:29:19
like an explanation for telepathy and these things, some
00:29:25
of these things might actually have a biological explanation to
00:29:28
it. You know, we've kind of
00:29:31
developed this thing. It can be here.
00:29:33
I wrote it, I wrote it down. Possibly rooted in autonomic
00:29:38
nervous system, gut brain, which is the idea that your gut senses
00:29:44
things and can tell you things is the gut feeling attachment
00:29:48
circuitry. We have senses, sensors of some
00:29:52
sort that we that can detect all these things, which might be
00:29:56
ancient neural systems responding to emotional states,
00:30:00
things that we don't quite understand, but they kept us
00:30:02
alive for a long time, so we still have them.
00:30:06
This says here, the higher brain translates this into images,
00:30:09
dreams and symbols, and it makes telepathy biological, makes it
00:30:13
evolutionary and not supernatural.
00:30:17
That's the biological aspect of it, to reframe a lot of this
00:30:22
stuff, right? Telepathy might not be
00:30:26
supernatural, it might be scientific, and it might be very
00:30:32
possible that you and I both have this ability to come up
00:30:37
with something, send it, transmit it somehow.
00:30:43
We might also be completely able to receive signals from
00:30:46
everywhere through dreams. It's really interesting to think
00:30:51
about when what like for example, when I think of parent
00:30:54
the paranormal being able to see ghost and stuff like that.
00:30:58
I sometimes think that everybody has this ability to to see
00:31:03
ghosts and entities out there, but some of us have it more
00:31:06
finely tuned or more conscious of it.
00:31:10
There might be a ghost next to me right now.
00:31:12
I can't see it. Somebody else might be here and
00:31:15
be like, there's something there, you know, something might
00:31:18
be poking their head through that little sill behind me and I
00:31:21
wouldn't know it. Also people that have seen or
00:31:27
experienced things and they just ignore it.
00:31:32
They're just, I mean, there's people like that.
00:31:35
You you hear them saying, Oh yeah, that happened.
00:31:37
But like the heck, sometimes it's, it's so bizarre some of
00:31:40
the things that we see that our minds just don't understand that
00:31:43
it's possible. And they just, your mind just
00:31:45
doesn't see it, you know, like the the myth or the idea or the
00:31:50
legend. I don't know if it's true or
00:31:51
not. But they say that when sailors
00:31:53
were coming, the natives in America, they didn't see the
00:31:57
ships because they had never seen huge ships coming from the
00:32:01
ocean. So that they just looked and all
00:32:03
they saw was the sea. Their mind just couldn't grasp
00:32:08
that. I don't know how true that is.
00:32:10
I think I would notice a big old ship coming my way, but I don't
00:32:14
know. So what do you think about it
00:32:19
like this? Is this a natural thing?
00:32:21
Is some natural ability that we all have or you thinking this
00:32:26
still too much? We're just looking into
00:32:27
something that yeah, it might be true, but it might not.
00:32:31
And we have we might have this ability.
00:32:33
It might be possible, but what's the point of even looking into
00:32:36
it? Is that your thought?
00:32:38
I don't know. I feel here that, you know, we
00:32:40
stay curious about this stuff. It it's cool, right?
00:32:45
Because it's just, it's what keeps us alive, what else we're
00:32:47
going to do, right? You have to find something to do
00:32:51
besides work all the time. It's a very courageous thing
00:32:56
that I think all these scientists are doing, spending
00:32:58
their money trying to find something.
00:33:00
If there is an ability for us to communicate telepathically all
00:33:07
right let's go over some of the comments from our last episode,
00:33:10
which a hunter called me in terror after hearing this in the
00:33:13
woods. Let me see Alandra says Alandra
00:33:17
Lagorda Alandra says hey, I'm first you're so awesome sounds.
00:33:21
I love listening to all your videos while working.
00:33:23
You're great at what you do Thank you.
00:33:26
I think I replied to you here yes you get a reply yes, I did.
00:33:30
I didn't reply. You get a a reply typically with
00:33:33
for the first comments that come in and then some of the early
00:33:37
ones were the ones that I get to read on here from a previous
00:33:40
episodes. But Shane says that is the same
00:33:42
smell as skinwalkers and wendigos.
00:33:46
We're talking about creatures in the woods, right?
00:33:49
This hunter called me like we had this call for true scary
00:33:52
story. And he said that he was out
00:33:55
there in the middle of night. He started getting this pounding
00:33:57
headache, heard something freaked out.
00:34:00
I had to leave. That's scary.
00:34:07
It sounds a little more I overly simplified it, right?
00:34:11
But still they say that there's sometimes a strange animal smell
00:34:17
that goes along with it or the woods out of why do people go
00:34:21
out there? I mean, I guess I've always kind
00:34:24
of liked the idea of it, but I've never really done it.
00:34:26
I've never really been, you know, a person that feels
00:34:30
comfortable out in the woods. Sometimes it's not just the
00:34:33
animals, but like other crazy people out there, right?
00:34:38
Cosmos says. I love your show and your
00:34:39
storytelling keeps me going at work and at the gym.
00:34:42
By the way, I'm a fellow squatcher.
00:34:43
I believe. Cool.
00:34:45
See, because we were mentioning here, do you believe in Bigfoot?
00:34:48
Do you believe in Sasquatch? Is that a possible the is there
00:34:52
a potential, a little snippet of possibility that there's
00:34:55
creatures out there in the woods and we don't know?
00:34:59
Do you believe? Remember that poster?
00:35:01
It says I want to believe that was from with The X-Files.
00:35:06
Morosni Musek says isn't Bigfoot also an animal?
00:35:10
Good thing it wasn't caught yet or it would end up in a zoo or
00:35:14
worst case scenario dissected. I agree with you here.
00:35:19
This is this one makes me think twice about like all these
00:35:21
people that go out there try to find Bigfoot.
00:35:24
Now what are you going to find it?
00:35:25
Wave at it? What are you going to catch it?
00:35:27
You're going to analyze it, take it to a lab that sucks.
00:35:31
Just let them let them be. Come on.
00:35:35
D16A6 Samurai says. Can you can you look into the
00:35:40
Shaffer Bridge in Central California?
00:35:42
It's supposedly haunted and it's a historic bridge that it's in
00:35:45
the boonies like like see the stars clear.
00:35:48
I'm going to write that down. I'm going to note this one.
00:35:53
Thanks so much for that. I like these kind of little, you
00:35:56
know, what do you call them? Tips go into certain stories.
00:36:02
And the last part, like where you can see the stars clear.
00:36:05
Can you see the stars clearly when you're from where you're
00:36:07
from? Because actually here I can, but
00:36:12
not in not near my house, not in Southern California, Nona says.
00:36:18
Love to hear stories about my home state.
00:36:20
Cool. Pacific Northwest area, I'm
00:36:24
assuming Russian shedded, says Edwin.
00:36:27
Anything is possible. Honestly, nothing surprises me
00:36:29
anymore. Who says?
00:36:31
We know everything about living beings among us, either in the
00:36:33
woods that we haven't fully searched or underwater or in
00:36:37
space. So yes, Bigfoot, Sasquatch, or
00:36:40
whatever we call such as being or entity might be real and
00:36:44
might just be hiding from us humans keeping themselves to the
00:36:48
territory away from us. Can't argue with that, right?
00:36:52
You can't have a skeptic here being like no doesn't happen but
00:36:55
it is possible. This is what I'm saying, it's
00:36:57
possible. Thanks so much for that,
00:36:59
appreciate the comment. Hi Petunia says is is your piss
00:37:03
clear? Better be had me dying.
00:37:06
I feel like I've heard your voice before during an audio
00:37:08
book by Stephen King but I could be wrong.
00:37:10
I adore you and your podcast. I've been listening for a while
00:37:13
to Scary Stories and Paranormal Club.
00:37:15
Your storytelling makes it feel like a conversation.
00:37:18
I have some stories of my own I might share, but I'm happy to
00:37:21
I'm happy to be here as part of the club.
00:37:23
My vote was still on Los Spookies as when we're coming up
00:37:26
with the name for our group here in the podcast.
00:37:30
Thank you so much, Petunia, for the for the comment.
00:37:33
And those are the comments that we got over on Spotify.
00:37:36
All right, some of the recent comments here on Apple Podcasts,
00:37:39
the reviews say well researched, presented in a conversational
00:37:42
manner, great for those who are not interested in entertainment,
00:37:45
but in an intelligent look at the paranormal.
00:37:48
Well done. This is actually what this kind
00:37:50
of episode was, right? It's supposed to.
00:37:52
I was kind of leaning into that like, hey, let's sound smart.
00:37:55
Let's come up with something that's interesting and kind of
00:37:57
scientific. Cool.
00:37:59
Appreciate that. That comment comes from D Free
00:38:02
City 55 that review this one. I love your podcast.
00:38:06
I found your true scary stories on Pandora when I first started
00:38:09
listening to you and listen to you every day throughout 8 hours
00:38:11
at work and got caught up with everything and now I can't get
00:38:14
enough keep it up. I look forward to new episodes
00:38:16
every week. That one comes from Kiowa 1031.
00:38:20
Thank you so much. Seems like these things make my
00:38:22
day like I love reviews, I love comments.
00:38:26
Usually I'm here just talking to this thing, this microphone
00:38:28
right in front of me and a little table in the corner of
00:38:31
the room and just sharing with you something that I found and
00:38:36
something that I happen to research and be like, there's so
00:38:39
much stuff that goes into it that I'm like, ah, thank you.
00:38:42
Thank you for noticing this or thank you for listening.
00:38:44
Like when I say thank you for listening, I know it sounds like
00:38:46
just noise, but seriously, thank you for listening because it, it
00:38:50
was, it's a whole thing like people that that can see me like
00:38:53
looking into stuff, researching, writing, writing, everything.
00:38:57
I'm like, this is super cool. I really hope somebody out there
00:38:59
finds it interesting. This is super cool that you guys
00:39:02
enjoy this. Thank you so much for this.
00:39:04
This other comment, this one's from from the review, Sorry, it
00:39:07
comes from Dante the Dino. I says I love this.
00:39:10
I started listening to this a week ago and it's the podcast I
00:39:13
go to every night to fall asleep.
00:39:15
It's super good and it creeps me out, which I really like.
00:39:18
Anyway, I love this podcast so much and a :) this is super cool
00:39:23
man. This is super cool.
00:39:25
I appreciate this so much, so much, so much.
00:39:28
But this is how this pocket is developing very slowly, but it's
00:39:33
growing. We're getting a slowly.
00:39:35
Our Spooky's crew was getting a little bit bigger as we move
00:39:38
along. So if you're here, you're
00:39:40
listening now you're part of the very, very first group, our
00:39:44
first generation of the Paranormal Club Spooky's crew.
00:39:49
Is that what we call it, this little spooky?
00:39:52
This is our is our official name, like our official Spooky's
00:39:55
for short spoof or even shorter if you just wanna not talk.
00:40:02
Anyway, that's all I got for you.
00:40:03
Thank you so much for listening. I'll be back next.
00:40:06
Actually, we're switching our posting schedule to Saturdays so
00:40:10
that we post on the weekend and you get the whole week to check
00:40:12
it out until the next weekend when we have a new episode
00:40:15
coming out. Let me know what you think of
00:40:16
that. Also for our lives, our live
00:40:19
streams. This is the thing, if you're all
00:40:21
the way here at the end of the episode, the very, very, very,
00:40:23
very end of it. I'm going to tell you about our
00:40:26
social media stuff that's happening now.
00:40:28
We're actually going to be posting all of our stuff for for
00:40:32
TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, all that stuff on our paranormal
00:40:35
club socials like and you can find us with paranormal club pod
00:40:41
all one word, a paranormal club POD pod like podcast and you can
00:40:47
find all the content there. Some of behind the scenes things
00:40:49
that we're working on, some things that are just more spooky
00:40:51
stories from all of our other shows.
00:40:55
But yeah, this is this. We're going to find out some of
00:40:57
the other stuff. Some of the comments that we
00:40:58
didn't get to here might show up there.
00:41:01
Some DMS might get read there. We're also going to try to get
00:41:05
story submitted with voice notes so we can just publish them
00:41:07
directly. One thing that I want to do,
00:41:09
though, is get to 1000 subscribers on our followers on
00:41:15
Instagram. I think Tiktok is what requires
00:41:17
it, but on YouTube, our YouTube channel, Paranormal Club Pod
00:41:23
doesn't have 1000. So I can't, I can't live stream
00:41:27
and I really want to be able to do live streams there so we can
00:41:30
meet up, You know, we can actually have live interaction
00:41:33
there. So I'm really trying to get to
00:41:36
1000. We haven't done an official like
00:41:38
launch of the thing yet, but I would appreciate it if you go
00:41:41
and you just give us a follow, even if there's no content there
00:41:43
already. Paranormal Club Pod is the
00:41:46
username. So now you know, you're going to
00:41:49
see a little bonus episode kind of pop up when we officially
00:41:52
launch it and hopefully we get some some people viewing our
00:41:55
stuff there. It's not just some of the same
00:41:57
stuff here, even though it is some reminders and some topics
00:41:59
from the same stuff, but also new things, you know, new
00:42:02
stories, new ideas, campfire style stories, little things
00:42:06
that we can do like that. So just in case you're
00:42:08
interested, if you have something that you want to like,
00:42:10
a story that you want to share, paranormalclub.com, use a
00:42:13
contact form there. You can also e-mail me.
00:42:16
I'll have a brand new e-mail with the paranormalclub.com
00:42:18
website, soitsedwin@paranormalclub.com.
00:42:24
Pretty simple and I'll get it. I'll, I'll get put Adam on the
00:42:28
list. We already got a couple stories
00:42:29
for our next listener submitted stories episode.
00:42:31
And then we'll get, we'll keep it going from there.
00:42:35
Anyway, that's all I got for you today.
00:42:37
Thank you very much for listening or watching.
00:42:39
Keep it scary everyone. See you soon.
