Uninvited: Three Stories of Hauntings (Listener Submissions)

Uninvited: Three Stories of Hauntings (Listener Submissions)

What happens when something crosses the veil—into your home, into your dreams… into your life?

In tonight’s episode, I explore three chilling encounters from people who never asked for the paranormal… but couldn’t escape it. From a quiet suburban home with a cemetery just across the street, to a budget motel room that left two guests shaken and speechless, to a childhood apartment where knocks, laughter, and shadows became part of everyday life—each of these stories shares one terrifying thread: something found them... and it didn’t want to leave.

You'll hear about electronics behaving on their own, vivid dreams that bleed into reality, children sensing things adults can't see, and trippy moments that will freak you out.

It finds you.

00:00:00
Hey, welcome back to another episode of Paranormal Club.

00:00:03
In this podcast we talk about everything creepy from listener

00:00:07
submitted stories to mysteries and cryptids.

00:00:11
For this episode we have some listener submitted stories.

00:00:21
I am super excited about them because I've asked for scary

00:00:24
stories for some time and we finally have some actually, some

00:00:27
of these were submitted a while ago and they hadn't been shared.

00:00:31
And some of these actually have been submissions from a podcast

00:00:34
called True Scary Story. So before we get started with

00:00:38
any of these stories, I want to remind you some of these have

00:00:41
very dark themes, right? Like some are very morbid.

00:00:45
Some of these also have mentions of self harm.

00:00:47
So listener discretion is advised here.

00:00:51
It's not very graphic, but still, you know, just just to be

00:00:53
careful with that. And then also like I do have

00:00:58
some questions. I'm sorry, I shouldn't laugh

00:01:00
about this because it's not that funny.

00:01:03
It was not funny to anyone else. But I was asked in the Q and AI

00:01:06
was gonna mention the Q&A section that have the very end.

00:01:09
But there was a a suggestion to come up with a name for you

00:01:12
guys, like a, a name for the audience.

00:01:14
You know how like people have names for the audience.

00:01:18
And there was one suggestion that I felt it wasn't too much.

00:01:23
Future Ghosts is probably not going to work because it's very

00:01:26
morbid. I like it, but it's morbid.

00:01:30
Like it's too a little too much. I don't know what, it's not

00:01:35
funny. I'm going to cut this out.

00:01:36
OK, Anyway, but I have three stories for you guys.

00:01:40
And we're going to switch up some of the, the feel of the of

00:01:44
the podcast. So you're going to listen,

00:01:47
you're going to be a little more immersed in some of the stories

00:01:51
that I'm going to share with you tonight.

00:01:52
Also, if you're interested in some of the lives, some of like

00:01:56
live streams with scary stories, I do need some stories to share

00:02:00
in order to have a live stream going.

00:02:02
So if you know of anybody who has stories, please send them my

00:02:05
way or reach out to me via e-mail or DM me.

00:02:10
Without further ado, let's get started with today's stories.

00:02:16
This one was submitted by Phillip via e-mail and it's

00:02:21
about a house where you moved into.

00:02:24
Here we go. Hey Edwin, just wanted to say I

00:02:28
enjoy hearing your stories and some of them give me the chills.

00:02:32
I also wanted to share with you one of my own encounters that

00:02:35
you could possibly make into a story.

00:02:38
We moved into our new house in Lansing, KS in August of 2003

00:02:44
but somehow didn't notice the large cemetery, Mount Muncie

00:02:48
Cemetery across the street when we made the offer.

00:02:52
It wasn't until we moved in that we were like, oh there's a

00:02:56
cemetery. During our five year stay at

00:02:59
this house we experienced unexplained items, both my wife

00:03:02
and I, while sitting in our living room multiple times.

00:03:06
Our radio and disc changer would automatically come on.

00:03:11
Not just come on but come on at full volume.

00:03:14
Sometimes with music, other times it's just white noise.

00:03:19
There was another morning when me and my wife just awoke in and

00:03:22
noticed we could hear water running.

00:03:25
At this time we only had a one year old that couldn't get out

00:03:29
of her crib at the time. We both got out of bed and

00:03:32
followed the water running sound and found the shower in the

00:03:35
bathroom was on running hot water.

00:03:39
Two to three years later we had newborn twins.

00:03:42
We heat up their milk in the microwave several times or other

00:03:45
resources if time permitted at the radio when one of the kids

00:03:50
would cry, the microwave would beep like someone was pressing

00:03:55
the buttons and then it would turn on.

00:03:59
It's happened several times before.

00:04:01
We unplugged it thinking it could burn down the house.

00:04:05
The most odd thing was it only did this when the kids would

00:04:09
cry. There was one night after work

00:04:13
around 11 PMI decided to take down the trash.

00:04:17
Our driveway was approximately 75 to 100 feet long and as I

00:04:21
approached the bottom reminder, the cemetery was literally on

00:04:25
the other side of the road and the area was the children's

00:04:28
cemetery. I could hear multiple footsteps

00:04:31
in the leafy grass across the street.

00:04:35
That night I got about halfway down the driveway for running

00:04:39
back to the house and scared out of my mind.

00:04:43
We shortly moved after this due to all these encounters.

00:04:50
Wow OK I was just reading the the end note here.

00:04:54
It says please reword or add anything if needed.

00:04:59
I don't think anything is needed for this story.

00:05:02
This is super creepy. Plus, I actually learned

00:05:05
something when you sent this in Philip that there's children's

00:05:10
sections to cemeteries. Like it's, it's so new to me

00:05:14
because I mean, I don't know how all these other cemeteries are

00:05:17
structured, but I thought they were just mixed in.

00:05:20
And I mean, I, I know super, you know, ignorant here, but like I

00:05:23
just didn't, I didn't know that. And I can imagine that being

00:05:26
super creepy. But as far as being so creeped

00:05:30
out about your house that you move out, that must have been

00:05:33
serious. Like that must have been like

00:05:35
really, really bad. Also the whole electricity

00:05:37
thing, the whole electronics being altered by living near

00:05:41
cemeteries. This stuff actually I know

00:05:43
happens. I know has been, you know, has

00:05:47
been brought up several times even through other scary

00:05:49
stories. Obviously ghosts mess around

00:05:52
with magnetic fields and things like that, like magnetic field

00:05:55
detectors. They actually get moved around

00:05:57
because of this. You see when you go, when you

00:05:59
see those ghost hunting videos and they have around this light

00:06:02
that says this Electro, this EMF detector, electromagnetic field

00:06:06
detector, that thing basically reads if something has crossed

00:06:12
the path or has altered the magnetic field around it.

00:06:16
That's really creepy. Plus it must have been a good

00:06:20
deal. You know, you're living by a

00:06:22
cemetery now. I'm sure not a lot of people

00:06:24
want to live by that. Although with today's prices I

00:06:26
guess maybe we'll just take anything anyway.

00:06:30
Second story. This one comes in from Kelly.

00:06:35
September 2021. My boy, my boyfriend Ryan and I

00:06:40
took his niece Grace out for the weekend.

00:06:43
We stayed at the Rodeway Inn in Red Wing, MN.

00:06:46
It was a good in between point to the Mall of America that we

00:06:48
were going to spend the day at and Ryan's sister's house so we

00:06:51
can take Grace home the next day.

00:06:53
Ryan's cheap and always get some cheap sketchy hotels I don't

00:06:57
approve of, but this one wasn't too bad.

00:07:00
It was slightly outdated, just like everything else in the

00:07:03
town. It's an Old Town full of

00:07:05
history, so I didn't expect anything too fancy.

00:07:09
It got to our room, it was small and it was just A1 bed, so Grace

00:07:13
happily made a spot for herself on the floor.

00:07:16
That first night we stayed there and Ryan and I had some really

00:07:20
bizarre dreams that we typically would never have.

00:07:23
His dream was about him beating me to the brink of death.

00:07:27
He said it was really disgusting and horrible.

00:07:30
It wasn't something he would ever think about.

00:07:34
I had a dream that I was suicidal and was cutting myself.

00:07:38
The feelings I felt in that dream were absolute dread,

00:07:42
sadness, a feeling I've never felt before.

00:07:46
It was so gory and disgusting and I'm not that type of person

00:07:49
to think about that stuff ever. I don't like gore, movies or

00:07:54
anything like that. When I woke up, I felt strange

00:07:57
and just wanted to leave for the day and go do our thing.

00:08:01
Who went to the Mall of America took Grace back to Ryan's

00:08:05
Sisters and we were going to go back to the hotel and stay

00:08:08
another night. Before we went back to the

00:08:10
hotel, we went out to eat and we discussed how we might go home

00:08:13
that night, but we weren't too sure.

00:08:16
When we got back to the hotel, the room air felt different, but

00:08:21
I chalked it up to just being stuffy.

00:08:23
So I turned on the AC. I started picking stuff up and

00:08:26
just packing up a little so I didn't have to do it in the

00:08:29
morning. And that's when I got that

00:08:31
overwhelming feeling I got in my dream.

00:08:34
I told Ryan that I wanted to leave and he kept saying he was.

00:08:37
He had a really bad feeling. It doesn't know if we should

00:08:40
drive. That's when I just started

00:08:43
crying. I just felt like I had to leave

00:08:45
immediately. I grabbed all my stuff and took

00:08:47
off out the door with Ryan behind me.

00:08:51
We threw out things in the back of the car and drove out of

00:08:53
there, but that feeling never left.

00:08:57
We both didn't say a word to each other.

00:08:59
I didn't want to turn my head to see what was in the back, but I

00:09:02
could feel someone, something in the car with us.

00:09:07
We both could and didn't want to talk about it.

00:09:11
It took about 30 to 45 minutes for that feeling to go away.

00:09:14
We both felt it leave at the same time.

00:09:17
That's when we started talking about what happened, trying to

00:09:20
make sense of it. We both felt something in that

00:09:24
room that we could only describe as very angry, completely

00:09:28
dreadful, and didn't want us there.

00:09:31
We felt it follow us and we felt it leave.

00:09:34
At the same time, we both had really crazy dreams we would

00:09:38
never typically have otherwise. We asked Grace if she had any

00:09:42
weird dreams or had anything happened to her, and she said

00:09:45
no. Ryan and I believe something

00:09:48
happened to a woman, something disturbing, awful.

00:09:52
She didn't want us there, or maybe she didn't want Ryan

00:09:55
there. I did a ton of research on the

00:09:58
place, looking through reviews, seeing if there's news articles

00:10:01
about a crime that happened. I couldn't find anything.

00:10:05
It'll forever be a mystery to us, but we both know something

00:10:08
is there that is very depressed and very angry.

00:10:13
I just hope whatever it is, find some peace, man.

00:10:24
You see hotels and Airbnbs, places like that.

00:10:29
I know this is something that I actually believe in and it's how

00:10:33
places can hold certain energies, but I've stayed at

00:10:37
the, you know, in certain sketchy places.

00:10:40
They're not they're not cool like because I mean, obviously

00:10:44
like they're not cool, but I don't know who's been in here,

00:10:47
what they've done in here. And you know, let me know if

00:10:51
you've ever had experiences like that because I know it happens a

00:10:53
lot in hotels. I know that sometimes I have a

00:10:55
lot of trouble sleeping in new rooms.

00:10:59
I think it might be because of that.

00:11:00
I don't know. This next story is a little bit

00:11:03
longer. This one is this one was

00:11:06
submitted through actually True scary story.

00:11:09
So you might recognize it in case you listen to that podcast,

00:11:14
Angie. So Angie submitted this story

00:11:17
that I'm going to go through right now.

00:11:20
It's a little bit longer, but it's really creepy, so here we

00:11:23
go. They called it the Shelter.

00:11:27
It looked like a group of four gigantic houses made to resemble

00:11:33
apartments, but each was really just split into 4 units, 2

00:11:38
upstairs, 2 downstairs. Each one was surrounded by a

00:11:41
tall white picket fence. My mom and I moved into one of

00:11:45
the units in the back near a pond.

00:11:48
It was supposed to be a new start for us, but whatever had

00:11:51
followed me since I was a child, it wasn't finished.

00:11:55
That first week I was lying in my bed playing my PlayStation 2,

00:11:59
getting ready to fall asleep. And then I heard it. 3 distinct

00:12:03
knocks, right by my head on the wall.

00:12:07
The wall that faced the pond. There was no apartment at the

00:12:11
other side, no neighbor to be playing a prank.

00:12:14
I got up and looked out the window and nothing.

00:12:17
I've always kept the TV on at night.

00:12:19
Total darkness makes me anxious, maybe because of things I've

00:12:23
seen. That night, after I hid under

00:12:26
the covers, I realized something strange.

00:12:29
I could still hear the TV, but my room was pitch black.

00:12:35
I peeked out, the screen was off.

00:12:38
My heart was pounding. I pulled a blanket over my head

00:12:41
and whispered no, leave me alone.

00:12:44
Oh sorry, that was no leave me alone.

00:12:48
And the knocking stopped. A few minutes later, I peeked

00:12:51
again. The TV was back on like nothing

00:12:54
had happened. About an hour later, I just

00:12:57
started to drift off, but there was a bang against the wall so

00:13:01
loud it made my bed shake. The pictures on the wall

00:13:05
rattled, so I shot upright and turned the game back on.

00:13:09
I didn't sleep the rest of the night.

00:13:13
A few days later, I was getting ready for school.

00:13:15
My room, including the closet, was fully carpeted.

00:13:19
I stepped in to grab clothes when I suddenly felt burning on

00:13:22
my legs. I looked down.

00:13:25
My feet were covered in fire ants.

00:13:28
I screamed, slapped them off and called for my mom and we

00:13:31
searched everywhere but found no cracks, no holes.

00:13:36
It was a brand new building and the next day they were gone.

00:13:41
Not a single Ant left. Another day I had a bad

00:13:46
migraine. Heat usually helps, so I drew a

00:13:49
bath. As I lay in the water I heard

00:13:51
three knocks, this time on the side of the tub.

00:13:55
I don't know what got into me, but I knocked back and it

00:13:59
stopped. I closed my eyes and then I felt

00:14:03
it. Sharp claws, 4 of them, starting

00:14:07
at the middle of my scalp, spreading out, grabbing my hair,

00:14:12
slowly pulling it downward. I jumped out of the tub and

00:14:16
threw on whatever clothes I could and ran out.

00:14:19
I didn't go back until my mom came home six hours later.

00:14:23
Another night, I was half asleep with my controller in hand.

00:14:27
That heavy feeling crept in. And then I heard it.

00:14:31
A low, guttural laughter, deep and teemonic.

00:14:37
It swirled around my room, moving like it had wings.

00:14:41
It faded into whispers, drifting toward the closet, the same

00:14:45
closet where the ants had been. I looked up and in the corner a

00:14:52
black mass just standing there, watching.

00:14:56
I jumped out of bed and flipped on the light and was gone.

00:15:02
Things started to look up. My mom got a better job and

00:15:05
moved into a one story condo nearby.

00:15:08
My room was on the right, my mom's in the back, and the patio

00:15:12
opened to a small yard. One day, someone from church

00:15:17
came to pray over the place while he talked with my mom in

00:15:20
the living room. I felt it again, that icy

00:15:23
feeling of being watched. I turned toward the hallway near

00:15:27
my sister's room and saw a head poking out around the corner.

00:15:32
I froze. My sister touched my shoulder

00:15:35
and asked. Hey, what do you see?

00:15:38
I lied. I told her it was nothing.

00:15:42
We moved again. I was about 19 and got my own

00:15:44
plays with my ex fiance. He knew I was sensitive to this

00:15:48
kind of thing and one night I was lying in bed, awake but with

00:15:52
my eyes closed and that familiar sense of dread washed over me.

00:15:58
I opened my eyes and there he was, the same dark shadow man

00:16:04
from before, standing right in front of me.

00:16:08
I turned toward my ex. Another shadow figure loomed

00:16:11
over him. I panicked.

00:16:13
I tapped them, whispering. We need to pray.

00:16:17
He started praying and I tried to join, but I couldn't open my

00:16:20
mouth. I felt like something was

00:16:22
holding it shut. I could feel the pressure, like

00:16:26
another mouth clamped over mine. I was struggling, angry,

00:16:31
desperate to speak. Finally, I broke free and began

00:16:34
praying out loud, screaming the words until the air shifted and

00:16:38
the heaviness lifted. Everything looked normal again.

00:16:43
Later, I moved back in with my ex.

00:16:45
We had twin daughters by then. One night I was sitting on the

00:16:48
couch. The girls were playing in the

00:16:50
room. They ran to the kitchen to get

00:16:52
their sippy Cubs, and I glanced down at my phone.

00:16:56
That feeling hit me again. I looked up toward the bedroom.

00:17:00
Something child size peeked out from behind the door and then

00:17:05
slipped back inside. I thought maybe one of my

00:17:08
daughter's had circled around, but just then both came out of

00:17:13
the kitchen. I jumped up, ran to the room,

00:17:16
turn on the lights and nothing after that.

00:17:20
I got my own place with my current boyfriend one night

00:17:23
around 7 PMI was walking out of the bathroom.

00:17:26
To my right was a linen closet, to my left my bedroom door and

00:17:31
straight ahead my daughter's room.

00:17:35
As I stepped into the hallway my cat started growling.

00:17:38
Her fur puffed up. I thought she was looking at me,

00:17:42
but she wasn't. She was looking behind me.

00:17:47
I took another step and then I felt it.

00:17:52
Hot breath on the side of my face, close, close enough to

00:17:56
whisper in my ear. I froze.

00:18:00
My heart dropped. Even thinking about it now gives

00:18:03
me chills. I turned and said I rebuke you

00:18:07
in the name of Jesus. Then I smiled at my daughter's

00:18:10
and said it's bedtime. Sorry, that part is just.

00:18:19
I'm sorry, I'm imagining a little creepy.

00:18:22
It's bedtime. A few days later I was in the

00:18:26
bathroom getting one of my girls dressed after bath.

00:18:29
After a bath I felt uneasy again and out of the corner of my eye

00:18:33
I saw the doorknob jiggle. It moved like someone was trying

00:18:37
to get in. I figured it was my other

00:18:40
daughter or maybe my boyfriend. But then it turned.

00:18:44
I yanked the door open. No one was there.

00:18:49
There's no way anyone could have run off without me hearing

00:18:52
footsteps. My daughter looked up at the top

00:18:54
of the door and just stared. I asked her What do you see?

00:18:59
She didn't answer. She just stared until something

00:19:01
broke her focus and then she looked at me like nothing had

00:19:05
happened. Back when we lived in the

00:19:09
shelter, I had a dream in it. I woke up in my bed and all the

00:19:13
cabinets and doors in the apartment were open.

00:19:16
The front door too. Sitting in the doorway was a

00:19:20
boy, Criss crossed legs, pale grey skin, khaki pants, no

00:19:27
shoes, no shirt, black bowl cut hair and his eyes solid black.

00:19:37
He stared at me. I felt terrified for reasons I

00:19:41
didn't understand. Beside him a snake, black,

00:19:46
coiled, moving. He spoke and at first I didn't

00:19:51
hear. Then he said it again.

00:19:55
Wake up. And I did.

00:19:58
Weeks ago I was playing PlayStation in bed and that same

00:20:01
fear crept in, but sharper, like I was in danger.

00:20:06
Now the corner of my eye, I saw a face peek out of the door.

00:20:11
I saw a face peek out from the hallway.

00:20:14
It was him, the boy from my dream.

00:20:19
Same clothes, same skin, same pitch black eyes.

00:20:23
This time he smiled like he was enjoying this, like he wanted to

00:20:29
play. I prayed throughout the entire

00:20:32
apartment. But now it's not just me.

00:20:36
My daughters have started pointing to empty corners,

00:20:38
saying Mommy, look, ghost. They point upward, not down,

00:20:46
higher than any of them could reach.

00:20:48
I don't teach them about that stuff.

00:20:51
Maybe they saw a cartoon go somewhere.

00:20:53
I don't know. But the way they act, it's not

00:20:57
like pretend I don't know what this thing is.

00:21:01
I don't want to call it a demon. I don't want to give it that

00:21:04
kind of power, but whatever it is, it's still there and it

00:21:11
wants to play. It's always wanted to play.

00:21:20
OK, few stories give me chills like that.

00:21:22
But if you want to listen to the person actually share their own

00:21:25
story like this, this because this was submitted and actually

00:21:28
she ended up telling the story. It's Angie.

00:21:31
The story is called Peekaboo. I see you and it's on True scary

00:21:34
story, like the podcast, in case you're you're curious about it.

00:21:38
And you know, I've actually listened to this before.

00:21:41
It might be in might have a couple of edits from what I'm

00:21:43
reading now, you know, because it's not like verbatim, but I

00:21:49
thought like, what if it has something to do with just the

00:21:52
patterns? You know, you're playing

00:21:53
PlayStation during these times, you're staying up late.

00:21:56
Maybe something's kind of attracted to this to this thing.

00:21:59
I don't know. Oh, but that gave me chills.

00:22:01
Like especially little kids thinking about that kind of

00:22:03
thing. You know, my, my grandma had

00:22:08
this story. I don't visit often.

00:22:11
A lot of people ask me too where I'm from or like where my

00:22:13
family's from. I was born in the US, but my

00:22:15
family's Mexican and they're from Sonora, from like the north

00:22:18
part of of Mexico, of Mexico. Mexico.

00:22:21
I'll just say Mexico. Whoa.

00:22:24
And that was me. That's not a ghost.

00:22:28
There was a there's a story that you told me where she said that

00:22:32
she was in the house and they, they moved into this new house

00:22:35
and, you know, typical Mexican house is made out of brick and

00:22:40
it's usually pretty cold. But the place itself is, it's

00:22:43
generally hot, but inside the house is usually very cold

00:22:46
because of the, the material that's used.

00:22:48
But we were in there and she's like, yeah, you know what?

00:22:51
When they found out that I tell scary stories and stuff, she's

00:22:54
like, you know, I want to tell the story of El Nino Del Pastel,

00:22:59
the child with the cake. And basically it's, she was

00:23:05
coming out of the room. It's like, you know, it's the

00:23:09
living room. And then there's 22 rooms in the

00:23:11
bathroom that's also attached to the living room, I guess in

00:23:14
another door in the living room. And she's coming out of her

00:23:17
room. And, you know, she goes down the

00:23:19
little hallway, goes towards the living room, and she sees a

00:23:22
little boy standing in front of the doorway with a cake in its

00:23:28
hands. And she describes him like he's

00:23:32
wearing, you know, she remembers the clothes he was wearing, you

00:23:34
know, dark pants, white shirt. And he's holding what appears to

00:23:37
be a birthday cake. And he's just standing there.

00:23:42
And my grandma looks at him and says like, like, you know, mijo,

00:23:45
like guess it's a key or kinetics or whatever.

00:23:49
It's not unusual for little kids to go into other houses.

00:23:51
Like it's not, I mean, it's not, it's rare, but it's not like

00:23:55
unusual. Like it, it can happen right

00:23:57
when the little kid goes in chasing a dog or wanting to play

00:24:00
with somebody or just kind of sees the door open and goes in.

00:24:02
It's I know that, you know, it's just the thing that like, you

00:24:06
know, the thing that happens. And this was the second time

00:24:09
that the the, the boy with the birthday cake was seen.

00:24:12
So obviously all these series started coming up.

00:24:16
Like what if it's like this sad story of, you know, a boy dying

00:24:20
during his birthday or something, or he just wanted to

00:24:24
celebrate somebody to celebrate with.

00:24:27
It's it's sad, but you know, it reminds me a lot of like how

00:24:30
creepy ghost kids go like children ghost can be in

00:24:35
general. And I feel like if you have, you

00:24:37
know, the typical scary story of the typical scary movie goes

00:24:41
with if you have a ghost girl, there you go.

00:24:44
Like that's creepy enough. I don't know why it just it

00:24:47
creeps me out. But also I hadn't thought about,

00:24:48
you know, the like the boy with the birthday cake.

00:24:51
Just really creepy. But thanks a lot.

00:24:54
You have Angie, Kelly and Phillip for sharing your stories

00:24:57
for this one. If you have your own story,

00:24:59
please send them to me. Send your story to me.

00:25:02
It needs to be true. It needs to have happen to you

00:25:04
or someone that you know. e-mail me edwin@scarystory.com or you

00:25:08
can also DM me on Facebook, Instagram or TikTok.

00:25:12
My username is Edwin Co EDWINCOV all one word like Edwin, like my

00:25:19
my name, Edwincovarubias, which is COV though at the E at the

00:25:22
end. And also if you e-mail me, make

00:25:25
sure you put in the subject line paranormal club so that I know

00:25:27
it's for this podcast and not like, you know, true scary

00:25:30
story, even though you can you know, like I mentioned earlier,

00:25:33
and we can do a crossover. But let me see.

00:25:36
We have some of the some of you guys have actually commented on

00:25:40
YouTube and Spotify. But again, this is for video

00:25:44
because believe it or not, some people are just listening to

00:25:46
this. And if you are like on Apple

00:25:48
podcasts, there's video available also on YouTube in

00:25:51
case you want to catch that. And then there's also like the

00:25:55
audio only group, which is listening on Amazon Music,

00:25:59
Pandora and everywhere. Let me know what you're

00:26:00
listening on now. I'm actually very curious to

00:26:02
know since this podcast is barely, you know, growing.

00:26:06
So I did get some questions, you know, part as part of like the

00:26:10
Q&A that I asked on Instagram. These are surprisingly these are

00:26:14
very question like we have some behind the scenes kind of

00:26:17
stories and some like personal stories.

00:26:18
So some personal questions. So I'll answer these if you have

00:26:22
questions, you know where to reach out to.

00:26:24
I'll leave my contact information in the description

00:26:26
as well. So we're going to go into these

00:26:30
Q&A's. This one will submit.

00:26:31
Oh, they don't have names, but here we go.

00:26:33
Do you believe in any urban legends from your home to other

00:26:36
Gary? Gary asked.

00:26:37
This one. Do you believe in any urban

00:26:38
legends from your hometown? You know what, my hometown is in

00:26:46
Southern California and there is this story that actually my aunt

00:26:51
and her husband and her and some of the people that she knows and

00:26:56
like their family have experienced there, you know, and

00:27:01
hard to live there anymore. But there is this street called

00:27:06
Maple Dale. And supposedly there's been a

00:27:09
couple times even my own parents have experienced this, that

00:27:12
they've seen this woman walking down this that that street with

00:27:18
she's wearing like this long hood type of imagine like a

00:27:23
beanie, but it's like long and it goes down the back and she's

00:27:27
just seen pushing a cart. Now, the time, that first time

00:27:31
that I heard it was from my aunt telling me the story of her, you

00:27:33
know, her husband's family seen it, seeing this, this, this

00:27:39
woman walking down and they started calling her the witch,

00:27:43
you know, like the, the, the bruja.

00:27:46
And I believe it because one time this is, this is the true

00:27:51
story. I was driving down Mapledale and

00:27:55
it was late at night. I forgot what I was doing that

00:27:58
out that late 'cause I usually don't go out late, but I was

00:28:01
driving down that street and then I see this woman who's just

00:28:04
about to cross in front of the car.

00:28:07
Like, as in like, I'm jumping in front of you.

00:28:10
I want you to hit me basically. And it was so close, like I she

00:28:16
was, she jumped in front of the car.

00:28:17
I kind of swerved a little bit. It wasn't like a wow, that

00:28:21
wasn't going that fast. And I got to see her like on the

00:28:25
side window of the car immediately, right.

00:28:29
I hit the brakes. Like I said, I'm slowing down.

00:28:30
I hit the brakes and the red lights like illuminate this the

00:28:34
the part behind the car, right? I don't see anybody there.

00:28:39
Now this was one of those parts, like in between light poles.

00:28:42
I call them that. I don't know what because

00:28:43
there's a part there called Gertie's Park and there's a

00:28:47
section where it's very well lit.

00:28:48
But right after that, the next light poles is a little bit of a

00:28:51
distance. And right at that part is where

00:28:54
I'm like, I don't see anybody. I even switched to the reverse,

00:28:57
you know, so I could turn on the other lights, the white lights

00:28:59
to the back, but there was nobody there.

00:29:04
It was really creepy. Like I didn't, obviously I

00:29:06
didn't get out of the car. Like, even though I tell scary

00:29:09
stories and I listen to scary stories and stuff, I'm like

00:29:12
pretty cautious when it comes to this stuff.

00:29:14
So I don't, you know, I don't go out there looking for, for goals

00:29:18
necessarily. But then I started investigating

00:29:21
into some of the other things about like, has anybody else

00:29:24
seen her? And turns out there's a story

00:29:28
that was told. My mom actually shared this with

00:29:30
her Zumba friends, you know, like she goes and does, you

00:29:34
know, Zumba like the, you know, dance or whatever or like

00:29:38
exercise. And they told her that along

00:29:42
that street were Pioneer and Mapledale, I believe Cross or

00:29:49
might have been a street over there used to be or there was a

00:29:53
laundromat and this woman was crossing the street, got hit by

00:29:58
a car and died and she was pushing along a little car.

00:30:03
I haven't verified this. I haven't looked it up in

00:30:06
newspapers or anything like that or any reports.

00:30:08
I don't really know when it happened.

00:30:11
But they say that that's the woman that's appearing now.

00:30:14
It's kind of messed up that we're calling her a witch just

00:30:18
because it's creepy. But if you think about it's an

00:30:21
actual, it's a pretty sad story. Now.

00:30:23
The time where my mom and my dad saw her, it was way further,

00:30:28
like farther down Maple Dale towards like the six O 5 free

00:30:32
wave. In case anybody's from around

00:30:33
there, you probably know, 'cause around my area there's a lot of

00:30:37
like all the freeways meet six O 5, one O 5, the five and the 91.

00:30:45
They're all around there and more closer to the six O 5

00:30:49
freeway where my mom and my dad were, were coming down the

00:30:53
street and they see her. So my mom's like she's kind of

00:30:56
like me. Like she's, she gets very like

00:30:57
excited when you see like ghosts and stuff.

00:30:59
And she was like, Oh my God, like turn the car around.

00:31:02
Let's let's go see her because she feels like really safe in

00:31:05
the car, like as if The thing is not going to appear in the back

00:31:08
seat. Like she's 100% sure that's not

00:31:10
going to happen. And they, they, they see her,

00:31:14
they drive past her. They're like, you know what that

00:31:15
looks like a lot like the, the, the witch that goes along, you

00:31:19
know, the, the ghost. So they turn the car around and

00:31:23
they can't find her anymore. What the heck?

00:31:29
Yeah. So do I believe in an urban

00:31:31
legends? I've actually seen this.

00:31:33
So like also another time, another time I was crossing the

00:31:37
street. I was at my friend's Christie's

00:31:39
house and we were I was driving down back to my house and I

00:31:45
don't remember. This is the streets where there

00:31:50
is a 711. No, it's not the 711.

00:31:52
There's anyway, I was crossing the Main Street pioneer and this

00:31:56
woman in a hoodie standing in the middle of the street, like

00:32:01
after I crossed the light, like I was in a my light's green

00:32:04
start crossing. I'm passing and I'm on the

00:32:06
intersection and she's standing there right in the middle of the

00:32:11
street, like just looking down and I'm like, I don't want to

00:32:17
honk because it's like it's creepy.

00:32:20
Like what if she like lunges at the coffin?

00:32:22
I don't know what I was thinking.

00:32:25
I'm like, what if I don't know? I just didn't want to honk.

00:32:28
She's standing there as if, you know, you kind of think about

00:32:32
maybe someone on drugs, maybe, I don't know.

00:32:35
You think of all these scenarios and then she starts to turn her

00:32:40
head, like she's looking down at the floor, like at the ground.

00:32:43
And then she starts turning her head like this to look at me.

00:32:47
I was like, OK, I'm done. Like I just kind of swerved and

00:32:51
she kind of stepped back a little bit.

00:32:53
She and I just. I just took off.

00:32:55
I didn't even, this is a real person, a real, real person.

00:32:58
I'm pretty sure. I hope at least.

00:33:00
But it was really creepy because it was around that same thing.

00:33:02
And I'm like, oh, was that her? Who knows.

00:33:04
But yeah, I believe in, in stuff like that.

00:33:08
I, I wouldn't really call it an urban legend.

00:33:10
Plus, I think it's only my family and, and you know, my, my

00:33:12
aunt's husband's family. Yeah.

00:33:15
Like it's, it's, it's, it's really odd, you know, to, to

00:33:19
think of that kind of thing. But.

00:33:20
But yeah, I definitely believe that.

00:33:22
All right. Can listeners send in their own

00:33:25
True Scary stories and how? Yeah, actually, I just mentioned

00:33:28
it too. But it's the main, the main way

00:33:31
to do it is through our contact form on the website

00:33:34
paranormalclub.com. But some people ignore that

00:33:38
completely. Just e-mail me or DM me straight

00:33:40
up, which works for now because we don't have that many like

00:33:44
people. But I know that for True Scary

00:33:46
Story, we'd started getting a a lot, so it gets a little more

00:33:50
difficult to keep track of everything.

00:33:52
But yeah, you can also like, you know, tag me or DM me at Edwin

00:33:56
Cove on my social media. That's Facebook, Instagram and

00:34:00
Tiktok. And you can e-mail me at

00:34:02
edwin@scarystory.com. And then let me see another

00:34:07
question. How did you get started with

00:34:09
podcasting and Scary Stories? With this one, actually with

00:34:14
podcasting itself was from a previous podcast that I launched

00:34:19
back into 2015. It didn't work out.

00:34:22
It was a, it was a podcast about travel and business and trying

00:34:26
to make something work online, you know, working because I also

00:34:29
run an online store. I used to try to do social media

00:34:33
and marketing and SEO and try to do a bunch of things and I was

00:34:38
trying to document that, but nobody listened to the podcast

00:34:42
really. So I was like, all right, but

00:34:44
that's when I learned podcasting with Scary Stories.

00:34:47
I've always liked scary stories, but it was into 2018 when I

00:34:51
decided that I was just going to launch a show because I started

00:34:54
listening to all these other podcasters or I guess Youtubers

00:34:58
telling stories on YouTube. And I was like, I like this, but

00:35:02
I want to do it in like a podcast form.

00:35:04
That way I don't have to make a video out of it and look at me

00:35:06
now, Dang it. Anyway, I figured I'd just have

00:35:10
people send in their stories. So what I did, I was like, if I

00:35:13
write a few stories, people start sending me stories.

00:35:17
Well, I wrote stories and nobody sent me stories.

00:35:20
But then I started getting reviews of people asking for

00:35:23
more stories. So I kept writing really short

00:35:25
stories. I'm saying like 3 minute long

00:35:26
stories or five minute long stories.

00:35:28
And then those started getting downloads.

00:35:31
And like then Spotify reached out and then other platforms

00:35:36
started reaching out. And then I was like, oh, this is

00:35:39
real. Like people are actually

00:35:41
listening and what does Spotify want?

00:35:44
But yeah, they just wanted to like, get to know me to see what

00:35:46
I'm up to and kind of start promoting their platform as

00:35:48
well. And then it just started growing

00:35:51
more and more and more. And then it just took off.

00:35:53
And then I launched a second show and then a third show, then

00:35:55
a fourth show, then that show failed and then another show.

00:35:57
And now that we're here. So it's been a cool journey.

00:36:00
Anyway. I think that's, that's all the

00:36:01
questions that I have as far As for, you know, stuff that was

00:36:06
submitted. And if you have your own

00:36:08
questions, your own thoughts, your own ideas for this podcast

00:36:11
or somebody that you want me to interview for for here on

00:36:14
Paranormal Club, let me know. Also, I recently did an on

00:36:17
location episode while I'm travelling.

00:36:20
I did the episode on in Singapore and some of the, you

00:36:22
know, haunted location. I wasn't able to go into it into

00:36:26
the the bed and hospital, but I didn't get to learn a lot about

00:36:30
the history and the general area about it, which is I found out

00:36:33
was much more haunted than I thought at first.

00:36:36
So it's a very interesting podcast, but you know, we'll see

00:36:39
how that kind of style goes because like I said, there's

00:36:42
still so much more that we can start doing with this with this

00:36:45
podcast. So I want to thank Blanca for

00:36:48
your comments on on paranormal Club.

00:36:52
Also, somebody has commented on YouTube.

00:36:54
Let me see who they are so that we can shout out and give them a

00:36:57
shout out because it was it was really nice.

00:36:58
So I think all the feedback that we get, everybody just super,

00:37:02
super nice about it. And this one was and also let me

00:37:08
see Pat here from Pat Chuli drop over on our YouTube channel that

00:37:17
says this is great, Edwin. Looking forward to seeing how

00:37:20
this podcast develops. Thanks so much for that, by the

00:37:24
way. Like I know, you know, we're

00:37:25
still we're still developing, like I always say, but it's

00:37:28
taking shape pretty nicely. And we're starting to get into a

00:37:32
routine here. So we're also going to be doing

00:37:33
some live streams. We're going to do some more of

00:37:36
these listener submissions, not every single time, but we are

00:37:40
going to get some some more stories, hopefully.

00:37:42
And then we'll we'll read them and we're going to make it a

00:37:45
little more like, but it's going to blanket and like just, you

00:37:49
know, share scary stories like this, just like really building

00:37:52
out and it'd be really fun. But anyway, if you stuck around

00:37:56
this long, I appreciate you. You know, I appreciate your

00:37:59
support with all the other all the stuff that I've been working

00:38:02
on and all your comments and reviews, they've been great.

00:38:05
So thank you so much for that. And then we'll see you all next

00:38:10
time for another episode. So thank you very much for

00:38:12
listening. Keep it scary everyone.

00:38:15
See you soon.
