Jim and Jim

Jim and Jim

The Jim Twins were two brothers that were separated at birth but lived bizarrely similar lives. If they could communicate telepathically, then maybe we can too?

Welcome to Scary Mystery Surprise or we talk about creepy things that surprised us around the internet. That mad Wyn, I'm Michelle, all right, you have a really weird topic. Oh, I can't wait, I can't wait. I'm I am so excited to go in cold. I don't know what this is about. Yeah, and Michelle, you're not a twin or anything, right, Like, you don't have a no, and you're sure as far as I know, I don't have one. I did fantasize that maybe I ate my twin in the womb, but I didn't. I claims that I was never fantasize. I never was. I never What is it. It's called something like a crimera or something if you ate your twin in the womb. New words, Yeah, new words. I have heard of that though. Yeah, And then that happens, and then you have DNA of both the twin facts creepy twin facts with Michelle with a new podcast covering this fall. She doesn't have a twin, but she sure knows a lot about twins. There's as in My favorite show of the Office that talks about that, when Dwight says that he had a twin and now he said when he was in the womb, he like resorbed. Yeah, I don't know, that's the word his twin. And now he has the power of a full adult and a little baby. So accurate, it's so true. And also, twins are just inherently weird. I'll say it. I'll stand on my soapbox say, twins are weird. These are certainly weird because could there be an evil one always This story is about James and James, which they're known famously as the Jim Twins. Scientists started looking into more of this stuff. Apparently there's twin researchers, as in like people who research twins and jeans and think about redheaded twins. That's weird, I guess, yeah, yeah, that's of course they're going to have people like research them think about it, or when people make them dress the same way. And those two girls in the shining at the end of the hallway, oh don't remind me. Yeah here it is. So James and James, or the James for short, who were only three weeks old when they were put up for adoption back in nineteen forty in Ohio, so they didn't have names when they were adopted, but their new parents chose the names James. Both of them are named James. Are they identical twins? They are identical twins. Oh. Rough, that's a rough break. But the parents didn't know each other. They knew that the babies had a twin brother, but they didn't keep contact because of rules. You know how Wait did they separate the babies? Yes, oh, they separate. Oh gotcha, gotcha? So them popped out and then they separated them and they were adopted by two separate families. I'm imagining they didn't just say, okay, which one do you want? I'm sure the nuns lied. They bring out the one baby to the family and they're like, here you go. And then another nun brings out the other baby to the other family in another room and is here you go? And they're both like, we'll call him Jim. Yeah, and then they smile. Yeah. They walk out. They pass each other in the hallway, but no one looks at each other's babies because they're swaddle And then life continues. The scene fades out, and here we are. They had no contact with each other, right, The families didn't know each other about Blatherer's rules. Both parents knew that their baby Jim had a twin brother, but that was it. And what was weird about this is that the twins happened to live lives that were eerly similar, so almost as if they were written for a story. So even then this is super to me. It was hard of belief. So one of them became Jim Lewis and the other was Jim Springer. Different names. That's good. When they were growing up, they both had childhood dogs named to So it's a strange name today, but back then was this was probably cool. I think that's just a cute name for a dog. But also like that they both named it toy. That's so weird. Yeah, it's like for me, I remember I had a dog named Daisy or was it Dais? I knew of a dog named you knew a few dogs named Daisy, So it's just maybe toy was common, all right, maybe nothing. I mean, I had a cat named the kitty creative you came up with that? Yeah, it was my childhood cat. He wouldn't respond to anything else except kitty, So that's awesome, and it's pretty common to him, imagining like I never had any cats. But plus people always say here, kitty. Yeah, of course, that's why it was the only thing he responded to. Jim Lewis was the one that initiated this process to get in touch with the other and he went through an Ohio court house to get the phone number of the other one. So, I don't know where I heard about this, but supposedly, like you have to ask the core and then they some lawyer like requests I don't know, reaches out to the other party, then they get permission and then they both agree. There's a broker in between. So he went to the courthouse. And it was February nine, nineteen seventy nine, when the Gym twins were reunited and they were both thirty nine years old, and it was then when they started to find out more about each other. There's news articles about this. There's Ripley's the Believe it or not people, the group that has that museum with bizarre and hard to believe type of Oh, yeah, I know, Ripley, I know, Ripley. Yeah, they have Was it a museum or that's a museum in Hollywood. Yeah, linking back to my beloved Zach Begins. They've done an investigation there apparently it's the objects are very haunted in that haunted because they have like real trunk and heads and stuff. Oh jeez. Also, the Marilyn Monroe dress that Kim Kardashian just wore and apparently ruined is at that replace, believe it or not. So if you need to go check on that dress, you can go there. Oh I've never been in there, Danie, I should go. You should go. It's Hollywood Day. So as they started talking more and more, they found out that they were both really good at math right when they were kids in elementary school. They both like woodworking, which was you know, all right, all right, not a huge stretch, but that's cool. That's cool. Another hobby that they have in common. Yeah, I imagine back then, like you grew up in the fifties. Well, you're into math, I'm into math. You're in the woodworking. I'm into woodworking. And they were both terrible at spelling. So it's just all right, I'm here with you. I'm here with you, okay. And then it says again, these are general things that I think people. If people are listening like to this, they might just be like, yeah, I'm a terrible speller. Yeah, I like math okay video right, Yeah, I know. Yeah, I'm like sitting here being like, yeah, I literally have a bunch of misspelled letters like words on my notepad right here. But sure, cool, Okay, they're bonding. So this is where things Yeah, this is where things start to getting string. They both got married to women named Linda right. Then they divorced the Linda's and they remarried. They're both divorced. But get this, both married remarried to women named Betty. Right. They both had one son, and they named them the same name. I don't know if you can guess, but it was James and the middle name was Alan on both of them. Yeah, this is where it starts getting weird. Obviously one of them like misspelled the name or spelled them different, like Alan with two l's and the other one with one l and not a big deal. It might just be a typo, I don't know. And the strangeness continued with both finding out that they were both heavy smokers. In fact, they both liked the same brand Salem cigarettes. Specifically, both drove a Chevrolet car, and they had similar jobs in security, with one of them being a sheriff and the other being a security guard. They also found out that they both suffered from tension headaches. Yeah, but that feels genetic. That feels genetic tension headaches, Like yeah, from the Yeah, because you literally were in the same womb, so yeah, you would have tension. You both have tension headaches. But anyway, Yeah, and they here's one of the things that I found that. Obviously they have a whole list of things, right, so I imagine that they had conversations They're like, oh my god, you do that. I do that too. Do you bite your nails? I buy my nails too, you do this? And basically all these details, right, And as they kept going, they're like, where do you go for vacation or whatever? And they actually had the same vacation spot, like the same beach in Florida. It's oh weird. Yeah, and they were close as in they were both in Ohio, like maybe what forty miles apart, I don't know, some they were within the same general area from what I read. And people started released like the list goes on. So we're not gonna get into all these little details of things that they found out, but I think the major things to me that were, like what is the names of their whys like all this, Yeah, that's pretty fun, and this is where, Yeah, it's I helped the Lendas became friends after divorcing the Gyms. I hope the Lindas went and are like best friends out on the town. Just feeling sorry for bettyes out there who are now married to gyms. Yeah, I don't know why I'm imagining them that they look alike. I'm pretty sure they didn't me too. I'm sure they're not twins, but I'm also imagining them looking alike, and the Betty's looking alike as well, even though they're obviously not twins. Unless we've missed a big part of the story, I don't know why imagine them in the same blue dress and maybe polka dot, holding hands, jumping one hundred percent one hundred percent. So people started investigating all this stuff right like they started. Like I said, there's people that study twins and genes and genetics and all this stuff. So others lean more on acknowledging jeans as a guilty party here. So they're saying that genes can determine so much more than just physical attributes like personality, sexual orientation, IQ, stuff like that. Obviously, this event made headlines and scientists I study all this stuff started coming up with their observations. But they also came up with this interesting theory. And this is the thing that's dating back probably a long time. I'm just guessing here, but they try to come up with maybe twins have like telepathic connections with each other, okay, and to make choices that are like huh, okay, I'm gonna do this, and then to lean more towards well, yeah, the exact same thing. That would make me wonder if there's some more dominant one and one's like a projector and a receiver, because it's like one of them being like, oh, I'm gonna marry this lady named Betty, and then the other one being like Betty's Betty's I'm gonna find a Betty goes on the classified ads and looking for Betty. Yeah, looking for Betty. I just love the name. I just love the name. It's true, like somebody projects, somebody might follow. That's that's kind of a telepathic thing like people. Yeah, you get that in your head and you're like, I don't know between Sandra Lily and Betty, I'm gonna go for I don't know Betty. It's fine. I think Betty's the one. So this very scientific article talks about how people send from busby. How did you not now? It's actually it was probably like I don't know cause my popt in, I don't know. I just took a sip of water and almost choke to death. Anyway, but it was one of those I don't know, pop Sugar, I don't know if that's the website, but it sounds like probably, yeah, yeah it Sugar, you're from there. From there that it says that there's legit ways, as in how people send and received thoughts from each other without talking or writing them down or anything. Again, this is what telepathic communication is for anybody who doesn't know. It's just like you can just know what a person's thinking and that's it. Nobody said anything, nobody made hand gestures. I guess, just there you go. So here are five signs I can communicate telepath in me. Okay, so if you have any of these, Michelle, let me know. Okay, Okay, I'm listening. You can feel the other person's emotions. Okay, right, that's a sign, so you can feel it. Okay. You can find yourself anticipating the other person's words before they okay, before they eat their sandwiches. So we can't communicate telepathically. Your energy is merging with you. When you are physically close to each other, you can feel when the other person's about to contact you. Now, this is the thing that happens. I don't know if this is like not just with Oh, it happens to me all the time. Yeah, all the time, all the time. Yeah, I will find myself especially during like breakups. I'll just say that when during breakups and you feel like someone's gonna call you and they call you, Yeah, that kind of thing. There's like things like that, what if you establish a telepathic connection with this person, Well, I'm gonna do cord cutting ceremony and get rid of it because it's true, like sometimes like you don't think of like a family member. That's just huh No, I think you totally do. I think, yeah, there's totally something to that. Yeah, I don't know what it is. It's like maybe sending a little energy signal to them. Maybe it's telepathic. I don't know, telepathy. Yeah, there's something about that, because that happens all the time. It's like a little synchronicity that happens. Yeah, and I think that's what the scientists wanted to study. Is this different with it? Technically twins? If they grow up together, they're actually in the womb together, they grew up together, then they're like share a bond or something. One of the twins, I think it was the Jim. What was the first one, Louis? Is it Lewis? Yeah, Jim Lewis always said that he felt like part of him was missing or like he was missing something. Oh yeah, I like that. I think he definitely knew. Here's the thing, like with telepathy, if you're a round a person enough, I see it's different for them, but if because they had never been around each other, But if you're around each other enough, you can know when somebody's thinking something and not have to like say anything, you know what I mean. You just know when someone's in a bad mood, you know what they're trying to say. Think there's something about proximity and just being able to read a person, so it's not like you think of it like a thought gets transmitted. I think it could be that I a hundred sent do think that, But I also am like you can get that with anybody if you're living with them. But it is interesting that they were twins and they never knew each other and they did all these things without being in proximity to each other at all. Something interesting that I read about in a dog training book somewhere is that dogs can read your expressions, like with your eyebrows. Yeah, they're really good at body language because they're always watch. Yeah, although my dog right now is literally eating a bone, so he's not watch right now, he's So that's how they can tell. And I think that's so cool. You can see the shape of your eyebrows, or they see your facial expression, they hear your tone, and they just know even though they don't understand your word. Oh yeah, they know. They know. They know they're getting to go outside or something. You know. How like when those guilty Do you ever watch those guilty dog video or dog shaven? You know? But I'm going to because I love those. I love a new genre of dog video that I haven't heard of before. It's like they destroy a thing do they just look guilty like they can't make eye contact anyway. But yeah, so that's pretty much the Jim Twins little phenomenon there. So just to test our telepathic communication here, Michelle, right ooh okay, good, I'm glad. I'm glad we're gonna test it. So I'm just gonna think of something. This is like a super quick test, right, I'm gonna think of something an to clear my mind, so everybody here we go. If we need absolute signs for this, my mind is clear, all right. So I'm gonna think of a TV show, right, Okay, I'm thinking about it. This is it the office ding it because I didn't mention it today. There's something, Okay, I'm gonna think of a music, an artist, a singer, Okay, okay, I'm thinking okay, okay, okay, okay, Shakira. No, no, damn it. I don't know why I was like Shakira, but it just came to me. I let's try to think of something that I wouldn't think about. Normally I would think of Shakira, but this time, so I thought of Harry Styles. Everyone's always thinking about Shakira, and if they're not, I don't know what they're doing with their day. Also, they should always be thinking about Harry Styles as well. Yeah, So inconclusive, this experiment was inconclusive, so we don't. It was like fifty I was right once and then I was wrong once and we didn't prove anything. It could still possibly exist, ding it. Okay, we'll try to get some other day. Oh jez, But that's all I got for this article. It was actually for the findings, I guess the research of this. Like I said, I think twins, like you said, they're weird. Twins are weird. My family has a lot of twins, and it's strange because here's a creepy story. Actually, Oh, tell me my dad's brother. So my uncle, my uncle has a twin who died either when he was a baby or died in the womb, or only one came out. I don't remember. He was a twin. Your uncle was, Okay, he was a twin. Yeah, he was a twin and he was the only one. He was the one survived. And there were things that he would say when he was a kid that were really strange, Like he would talk. He would be talking in his room and my grandma or his mom would come by and be like, who are you talking to or whatever, and then she'll say, oh, it's just and would make up a name or say the other person or whatever. And one time, and this is the thing that every the whole family says, one time, somebody was trying to play a joke on him, like one of his cousins or someone came in and was like, Okay, I'm gonna scare him, like he's taking a shower or whatever, like I'm gonna come in and I'm gonna scare him, which is the kind of jokes that my dad's side of the family does, which my mom does not like that. They're all like this, yeah, not great, not a great joke, not like the most original. Has he gonna jump out like here in the shower, naked, lazy writing. So he goes in and as he's walking into the house, he starts hearing like a bunch of noise. He's what is that like in the rooms? He'aid what that there's other people here. He goes in and then he just hears like something just you just like something like I'm saying, like furniture falling like a loud bang. Right, She goes, what the heck? So he goes in thinking like wait, so who's in the shower. He starts hearing all these noises, not Poulter guy's full on. He doesn't cease that. He just hears, and he hears from the shower that my uncle says, hey, the word for a brother, which is I guess it is like informal word to say brother. He goes, hey, can I like stop it, stop it already, And then all the noise stopped. So then this cousin or whoever it was like just stormed out. He closed the door. He got more than he Yeah, he got more than he asked for. Yeah, And he says that stuff. There's things. One time, actually, he used to get into fights. He was really like one of those troublemaker kids. And one time he got in a like a fight he was with with some other kid from the neighborhood, but like a really mean one, as in a gang member type of thing. And one time they somebody was snuck into his house, into his room to try to stab him, and literally like this when I couldn't believe this stuff, but but my uncle like swears, yeah it happened. And at night he heard a voice tell him like, hey, wake up, brother, wake up, bro, wake up, wake up. He woke up and literally I saw the guy standing there with a knife and like the other guy freaked out. Yeah he's Oh my god, he's awake, got into another little brawl or whatever, and yeah, and these are stories that I'm just like, he's been tense whether why would you make him up? That's totally happening to your uncle. He does have a ghost brother that's hanging out with him, and he probably sees him and thinks it's normal and is totally fine with them because it's just normal because he's been doing it since range. But I just love that the cousin, like God, like this whole experience of just like, oh, I was just gonna do a prank and now did the ghost brother's mad at me? And I didn't expect any of this regrets. Yeah, just like I've learned my lesson. I'm never pranking anyone again. I'll learn to write my comedy better. It's always tough over me to believe this stuff when I'm like, huh, did it happen, Like you can tell a person's telling you something, Yeah, this happened, and you're like, jeez, he's got nothing to gain from telling that story whatsoever. So yeah, he's just yeah, and I think it might affect him, like the other way, like they might just think he's weird. Okay, now you believe in ghosts? Okay, yeah, so oh what a weirdo. Yeah, he doesn't benefit at all from telling that story, so I think there's nothing to do but believe him. Yeah, super super creepy. But any who, that's what I got for this week. On For next week, we got I don't know what kind of surprise. We just don't know. I guess it'll be a surprise. If you have an idea, send it, Send him to us.
