Cursed

Cursed

Luisa and her family experienced a curse that came from a woman they all knew about. Even more strange is the fact that things would intensify when this woman was in Mexico, and the family would determine that with exact accuracy. How was this possible?

Today's scary story comes from Louisa. It takes place across southern California, an area that I'm very familiar with. The events described in this episode are real, so please listen at your own roads. The end of the episode will include part of the scary plus bonus material. My name is Edward, and here is Luisa's true scary story. My story is based in Riverside mostly, but I've had experiences since I was very young. My family was scattered at the time. My brother was living in Englewood with a friend of his, and my sister and I were living with my dia in Riverside. This is the first time that I was in a city that was really quiet at night. In the city in La you hear the sirens and you hear people at all hours traffic, and then Riverside it's quiet at night, so you hear the trains and like you can barely sleep at first because you're not used to just not hearing much even just like the crickets are like kind of creepy. Anyways, it was a nice house with front yard and an orange tree in the front and like an attached garage to the house, so as you walked up the walkway of the house. The garage is the first thing to the right, and then you have the porch and the front door, and as you walk in, the kitchen is to the left, and as you walk another step to the right is the hallway where all the rooms are. So there's a four bedroom house with two rooms near the front of the house, two near the back. And then if you don't go in that hall and you keep walking, it's the living room. If you want to talk about dark hallways even in the daytime, but you could close the door in the hallway and it was just like pitch black if you just closed all the doors from the bedrooms. And at the end of the hallway it was the bathroom, so you closed that door too. It was just my sister and I living there, and we would sleep in the living room and it was like my cousins, three boys, my aunt, and my uncle. My Tia was a very strict person. Everything was in order in the house. Every Saturday you woke up the music blasting. Everyone had their chores to do. We all grew up really close from when they used to live in Compton. My cousins and I, we'd all hang out and my sister. One day when we're all just hanging out, she tells us that she's seen a ghost, and we're like, a ghost, what do you mean a ghosts? She said that it was a lady and she was all in white with long hair, and she was in a nightgown of some kind. My cousins and I were just like, no, there's no way. We all proceeded to just make one of her and be like, oh, Casper's going to get you or something like that. And especially because they're all dudes, right, so they're quick on their feet to be like, oh, ha ha, you're crazy or you're just a scaredy cat. I'm fifteen at the time. Teenagers we can be cruel just to be funny, and so none of us believed her, and we just left it at that. When my sister was adamant that she saw a woman in this house, so we're like whatever, We all brushed it off. Any time goes by, I don't feel besides the creepy hallway, nothing of the house really gives me like bad vibes. One night, though, I'm sleeping in our rollout couch sofa bed and I'm dead asleep. My sister's sleeping right next to me. She's dead asleep. In my sleepiness, dreaming, I had this feeling that just came over me, like when you're out and about doing your thing and you just feel like someone staring at you and you turn and you're like, what the heck? I had that feeling like someone's watching me for whatever reason. From my sleep, I woke up to look up over the covers to the foot of the bed, and this woman is just standing there staring. She looked exactly like my sister had described her. She had a nightgown on that was white, and the sleeves were long, like down to her wrists, and it was those like old school ones with the little ruffles around the edge of the shoulders and down the front of the chest. And her hair was long and it looked a little white, like she was maybe older. But she didn't look mean. She just looked curious, like she was just looking at us. And even though she didn't look mean or anything, I just was I can't believe. In my mind. I was like, dang, she was right. And I threw the blankets over my head super fast, and I was like, you're not real, You're not there. You're not real, You're not there. You're not real, You're not there. And I looked back up and she was gone. Around that time, a few creepy things were happening, or just everything seemed really unsettled because everything was so unstable in my life. So like my mom was in Pomona and she was having her own experience is there as well. She was sleeping on my uncle's couch in Pomona, and she would feel presences there to the point like when I told her and we told her what we saw, she was like believed us right away. My mom, in general, she's very spiritual. She used to read tarot cards as well. I feel like she's very sensitive to a lot of things, just energies. My uncle didn't believe there was anything in their house, so when we told my mom about my aunt's house, she was like, yeah, I believe it. That Holly is creepy right, and youthink could be there. My mom's experiences though, the one time she did see someone in Pomona was still when she was staying there and she had came to pick us up from my aunt Holston Riverside for a family party that they were having in Pomona. They lived in a little kind of like duplex four plex apartment situation. Right. So Mom and I walk in because we're arriving. It's still early though, so people are still setting things up. There's not that many people there yet. We say, kai, how are you to the lady we see in the kitchen who's like washing dishes, just like a regular lady, and nothing seemed really different about her, just your average outfit for a party, or her hair wasn't a ponytail, and she says hi back to us, and we walk into the hallway to say hi to my aunt who's in there with her friend, and she introduces her to the lady that's there, and she's like, well, I met your friend in the kitchen. She was washing the dishes. I put whatever down on the table that I brought whatever, she said, And then she was like, what, lady, there's no other lady here. We're the only ones here so far, and you all just arrived. And she said, no, there was a lady. She just said hi to me. She looked at me like, didn't we just say hi to a lady in there? It's like, yeah, we did. And we went back looking for this lady and there was nobody there. Eventually it got to a point where, like my mom was finally able to move in with us at least at the house in Riverside with my aunt, and my aunt at this time is going through her own divorce as well. So I feel like the feeling of unhappiness and maybe like depression and anger things that people go through. All these emotions to process life changes that are so drastic, like marriage is ending after twenty plus years, put a lot of those vibes out. Because if misery loves company, like all that negativity, you can really attract some weird things into your life. But when my mom finally moved in, I think at that point, I was like seventeen, and I had already dropped out of high school because it had been so hard for my mom to do things. I was out of school and I was working. My mom and I would work long hours, really long hours, like five am call times, and we'd be home by eight pm and we'd do it all over again. So on this particular day, when my mom and I after a day's work, she's in the living room talking to my THEA. I decided that, like, I'm really tired, so I want to go to sleep. The bedroom that we had was the on the right that was near the front of the house that's connected to the garage. It was four of us sharing a room. I'm seventeen. I sleep on the floor at the foot of the bed, in front of the door that comes into the bedroom and in front of the door into the garage. At the time, I was going to high school in Riverside called Ramona that I had dropped out of previously, and I met this girl, Tabitha, and she told me that she knew someone who lived in the house that my cousin that we were living in, and she mentioned that the person that she had spoke to in that house mentioned the previous owners of that house had someone who had committed suicide in the house in my cousin's room, and I was just like, no way, that's maybe that's why there's such a creepy feeling in the house, like this heavy feeling. I'm sleeping, everything's fine, but at one point I remember I wanted to wake up. I'm a light sleeper as it is anyway, so when I turn over when I'm in bed, or if I need to go to the bathroom real quick overnight, like I get up quickly, my cat can drop something and I can hear it. So I wanted to wake up, and I was awake in my mind, but I could not move, And as much as I tried, I just felt like someone or something was sitting on my chest and literally pinning me down from every limb. If I tried to move an arm, a leg, it's almost like I was screaming at the top of my lungs and I could feel my chest just concaving because every breath I wanted to take, I wasn't able to expand any further. It's almost like when you're stuck in a small space, like those stories you read from a person in a cave that went into a space that was too small for them, and as they start getting wedged and further tighter tighter. That's how I felt on my chest. When I finally was able to move, it was almost like a twitch, like a jerk because I was trying so hard that like my body intentionally came forward, Like I woke up with this intense energy and I just remember getting up and feeling like I need to get out of this room. What was that I need to get out of the room, and I hustled down that hallway and just saw my mom and I started crying and I feel and you remember a certain feeling. I can feel it now almost. My mom just said like a prayer for me, and she hugged me real tight, and she was like, it's okay, Mi, huh, get the best soul. What's wrong with you? And I was like, I don't know, it's just I feel so scared. Like it was terrifying and it was humbling, because like you don't realize how hard it is to experience some things like that alone, you know. And it was so comforting to be able to turn to my mom and be like, dude, I'm scared and I don't know what that was and just her being like it's okay and saying a prayer over me. It was definitely comforting, and it was not one of the first time I've had those type of experiences. Like shortly after that, it seemed like everything was chill and calm, but it was hard to sleep in the back room because that garage, I don't know what it was like. I just felt like anybody at any moment could come in and walk in from there, and you would hear l knocks or creeks that most people would equate to, like me, use the house settling, or the change of weather, the wood expands or whatever. But it was not for us for that much longer, because we finally were able to get an apartment elsewhere, and that had its own experiences as well. We were still in Riverside, but like I mentioned, my dad had left, and my mom always thought that we were experiencing all these weird things because he was being worked on or something. And I feel like that's a very common thing in like our mex culture. You have you're like people who work in Santiria and people who work their white magic and their black magic, and it's all very unsettling sometimes when a person like my mom who knows exactly what that is because she's had her own experiences that the countless story she's told me about in Mexico, or when we lived in Texas and she was doing her tarot car readings and someone tried to steal her energy with these black candles. So when she said that and we were in Riverside, still struggling, she always said that it was like a seven year curse. Every time this lady went to Mexico, we'd always have some weird stuff happened. Luisa is referring to the woman that her father was now with and also the person who had put a curse on her family, which, as we will see, manifested in the strangest ways. Lisa will be right back with the rest of her story. Right before we had to split up and get to Riverside with my sister and my mom is in Pomona and my brother in Englewood, Like, we had an apartment in Highland Park, and at the time that was still a struggle because my mom's single mom. She hadn't been by herself before the marriage that she was with my dad for twenty years, and so she was very adamant that we were struggling because whoever he ended up with had some kind of ties to Bruheria. So we'll hop back to Riverside. We had another time where my dad's a new lady was in Mexico. During the time, we're moving around a lot. My mom is not a stable single mom, and that's okay. She's doing her best. So with everything going on, my mom still wanted to keep us connected with family in general, and like we would see her family a lot. But this event came up with my dad's side of family because my niece, who just happened to be a little older than me, was visiting from Texas, and so my sister decides not to go, but I decide to go because I wanted to see at the time, I just want to experience moments of joy and happiness when family is a good place to find that most times. So I hadn't seen or even met some of the side of that family that I was going to go see, but I knew Joanna, so I my niece. So we go and I meet a couple cousins, girl cousins, which to me was like really cool because all my cousins growing up were mostly boys and it's three of them, right, so now it's five, five of us hanging out together. We did the church thing, and that was Chill, one of my cousin, and the oldest one. Her boyfriend was hanging out with us most of the day too, and during those conversations he was like one of those teen pastures and he held like group meetings and stuff for the youth. He had just came back from some kind of program or lecture or something where they were dealing with youth that were having ties to demonic entities and they were too curious, so they were playing with Luigi, and so he's telling us all these things about people that have experienced possessions and just weird experiences and what we should do if we ever run into those situations. And he's telling us, so you need to rebuke that and put yourself in the hands of God. And he's like creeping us out in a way where he's giving us all these stories. Right, So like, okay, and we end up at my cousin's house and grown out of hills and they have a big, old house. I can't even go into describing it because I've only been there maybe once or twice. But we went upstairs to my cousin's room and she had a bathroom in her bedroom, and one of those stories that her boyfriend had told us was about people who get into the mirror and start chanting a demon's name over and over again until either they see something in the mirror or they feel something, or something happens. So one of my other cousins decides while we're all hanging out in the bedroom that she was going to go to the bathroom. None of us thought anything of it, nothing at all. She comes back and we're all talking. Somebody decides, like it's getting late. Who wants to tell scary stories? Of course, like I mentioned my Lady in White story because it recently happened right at this point, like it wasn't that far off in timelines, while all these things were going on around the same time. And they mentioned a few scary stories. And then my cousin, the one who had gone to the bathroom, she's like, you, guys, I feel weird. And we're like, why, what's wrong? Are you okay? Do you feel sick? Is it what we ate? And she's no, I just I don't feel right, and we're like, what's wrong? And she goes, I have to tell you all something, but you can't get mad. And me, I'm like, what the heck's going on? Because I just met these three cousins and my niece Joanna I've known and they're all very religious of religious families and they're still practice and everything. So I'm just like, well, what's going on? And she said when she went to the bathroom, she decided to repeat a name into the mirror, and she saw a face, like a transparent face that kind of went over her own face, and so she got scared and ran out, and we're like, what do you mean, why would you do that? And she said, I don't know, but I feel really sick. I don't feel good. And so my cousin calls her boyfriend and tells him what my other cousin did and that she's not feeling good, and he tells us to start praying for her. And he said, whatever you do while you're praying, close your eyes, and if you feel anything, don't look at whatever is there, because as soon as you might look at it, it can jump to you, and if you show any fear whatsoever, it's going to attach to you. So I'm like, what is going on. I haven't really been in a setting of church in a long time. I had just gone to a service and then I'm hearing all these stories and now this is happening. Now we're all praying, and I'm like, I don't know what's going on, but I just start praying because I don't know what else to do. We're all praying, and my niece, she starts acting funny okay, like really weird, and it starts pulling her hand away because we had all grabbed hands to pray, and we're like, Joanna, what's wrong with you? She wouldn't answer. She just started tossing her head kind of sigh decide like somebody was if somebody's like lazily being like no, no, And my cousin was trying to get her to pray and say in the name of Jesus Christ, and she'd just be like shit, and we're like at that point, I was scared because I had no idea. That's very uncharacteristic of most people in general world to not just be able to repeat a phrase, and for her, especially because she is a firm believer and has never wavered. My whole family on my dad's side, I feel like they're very devout. My cousin's boyfriend was still on the phone and he starts praying, and I kid you not. My cousin was just very almost like aggressive, to the point where she started trying to bash her head on the back wall that was behind her, like throwing her head back, and we have to stop her. It took about two hours of us praying, praying, and praying till she finally started coming back to herself. I don't know what happened that night exactly, but I learned not to ever mess around with anything of that nature now that I've already experienced that semi maybe possession. Being with my cousins. We're in Riverside, on the East side of Riverside, and we have this apartment. It's just a two bedroom upstairs. We're all feeling okay at this point, not too bad because we finally have our own space with all four of us. My sister and I are sharing a room, my mom has her own room. My brother sleeps in the living room. Now, my brother, he's a straight edged type of person. A lot of things don't scare him, even though when he was younger and he was scared of the dark and the chupacabra, your usual stories or whatever. But he's a big dude. He's six ' five over three hundred pounds. He solid mass of a dude, so a lot of things just didn't face him. Him and my father share the same name. When we lived in Riverside, in that apartment in Eastside, there was one time in particular that this lady was in Mexico. My brother was not feeling good for some reason, which is very strange for him to even say anything because even if he's like worried or scared about something or it's very few the people he'll ever confide in because he's just one of those kind of like somber manity dudes, very macho, good heart. I love him to death, but it's hard to read him sometimes because he won't really share all that much. This day, in particular, though he was scared. It was late at night, he was working, I was working, my mom, so like the typical night was for us to turn in, maybe somebody was on the computer and then eventually everybody like turned in and lights out. This night, he was really unsettled though, worried even He said he felt like something was gonna get him. And my mom was like, she's in Mexico. That's why you're feeling like this, Like something something weird is probably happening. And at first I was like, what's going on? Like why you try to rationalize it? I guess it makes sense though they have similar names. If she's working him to feel a certain way, maybe my brother might be feeling those same things. They have the exact same name. You never know. I don't know how that works. So that night, my brother's tripping and then he starts saying that at the front door, he's hearing knocks, and I'm like, I don't hear anyhing is you don't see it. Look at the bottom of the door, you don't see it. When he finally said that though we all saw a green glowing light at the bottom of the door, I don't know what that was. I got a few experiences up until then, but like, never like that, and that fear that he was feeling, I think took over all four of us because we now all of us were in the living room looking at the front door like it's locked whatever, it's not going to get in. I don't know. I had just had the experience not that long ago in Granada Hills. So I told them we need to start praying. And my mom wasn't sure how to even go about it, like she was like, I don't know if our regular prayers would work. And luckily I had just heard my cousin's boyfriend doing the prayer over my niece and was like, we rebuke everything. We rebuked this, and then I was just taking whatever I remembered and praying as hard as I could, which was different for me because that's not me. We all were holding hands in a circle and praying, and I was holding my sister's hand, and it felt like somebody was pulling her arm, and I could feel her pulling back, like trying to squeeze my hand and keep her hands steady. But it felt like something was pulling at us to break it, break our link up. We prayed for a good while, I think, probably until we finally all just settled in and huddled in on the floor and just fell asleep together. None of us slept in our rooms that night. None of us wanted to be apart. We just almost like a safety and numbers situation just took over. And I don't think we've ever felt that kind of intense collective fear as a unit like we did that night. After our calls, As those of you who have told your stories on the show may know, we talked for a bit and additional stories while brief also pop up every once in a while. These are typically cut from the final version of the episode for the sake of time, but based on your requests for wanting to know what Scary Plus is like, I will add part of the unedited content for you now here It is Scary Plus. Thank you so much for being a part of Scary Plus. I asked Lisa some questions about certain parts of the story to what she talks about here. It was creepy because she looks so real, like you would think because I had already seen the lady in White and Riverside, so I was thinking it was more for her. She was a little more like ethereal, a little more like what you expect someone who is in the spirit world would look like. With this whoever we saw at my in Pomona house. That was creepy because it wasn't shortly after from the lady in Riverside, and we were still all living apart, so we were just like, what is going on with all these experiences we're having. I did tell my cousins. I told him that my sister was not lying and my thea she is a very like my La Lada. She has a sailor's mouth kind of situation, Mexican lady. And she was just like, nah Allah, you know whatever, that's not no, that's not happening here. She was just like y'all will wake up anything to not clean or do what you need to do or go somewhere alone. When I was in high school, like fourteen, barely just turned started freshman year, I had met this new girl, Ava, and she wanted to play Luigi but on a piece of paper, the kind that you draw up yourself. And I had my flip phone and it was like, I'm app with my friend. I'm so dope. Yeah.
