In the Shadows of Brujería

In the Shadows of Brujería

For this family, the story began with a curse.
In 1999, a woman in Charlotte, North Carolina, became so sick that her family feared she might die. During the ordeal, she saw her deceased father and believed he was calling her to follow him. And now, more than twenty years later, another terrifying episode started bringing strange visions, shadows, unexplained sounds, and an experience her daughter says changed everything she believed about the supernatural.

I just saw a dead body. It's right there in front of your car. When she said that, my whole body just went numb because I couldn't see anything. The first time it happened was in 1999. And years later, the same family believed that the curse had returned, bringing terrifying visions, illness, and a presence that seemed to affect everyone inside the home. My name is Edwin. And here, Sabrán' s True Scary Story. It all started back in March of 2021. My mom wasn't feeling that well. She was just feeling sick, a fever, stuff like that. But she would go to work normally and everything would seem well with her I remember that one day I walked in the house and it was like a really bad vibe. Something that I never felt before. That's when everything started. I was walking by the little hallway that was leading to my room. All I heard Was my mom just calling me? I go into the room. I'm like, mom, you okay? She's just telling me she's not feeling very well. But I told her, you want to go to the hospital? And she's like, yeah, take me to the hospital. And when I saw her, I saw that she was really pale. It was really something scary because I had never seen her like that before. So I was telling her, are you okay? She's like, yes, I'm fine. I'm like, no, you're not. I could tell from my mom, the way she was and know something was really wrong. I remember I, I put her in the car and I said, okay, mom, let's go. I started driving in a dark road and all I hear is. A scream from her. She literally screamed Abraham. Look, look. What? Mom, there's nothing there. There's nothing. She said that there was something in the road. I never saw anything, but my mom did. She told me that she saw a man. With scars on his face. I told her, what are you talking about? And it was hard for me to believe her because I was thinking it was the fever causing her to see things, but It got way worse when we were on our way to the hospital. She passed out in the car as I was driving. Obviously, I got scared. She was just mumbling. She passed out. I had to stop. And I woke her up, actually, and my mom was just telling me, I see somebody behind you. And after that, my mom passed out again. We went to the hospital and they checked her out and they just told her, you just have a mild fever, probably from, you know, a cold or something. I was like, okay, mom, you know, obviously everything is fine. Let's go home. It was around 2.30 in the morning when we were going back home. My mom seemed very, very shaky that day. It was like, a bad vibe that I was feeling from my own mom that like I didn't have never felt before, but I didn't really want to be close to her because of the way she was acting. So I took her home that night. She fell asleep and everything was good. She woke up the next day. I was like, how are you feeling? She said she was feeling good. My mom, she likes to smoke. So I remember she went out in the front yard, but I didn't know that she was out in the front yard. I was in my room and I remember hearing my mom actually call my name, saying, Abraham, come here. I screamed at her from my room, like, what happened? Are you okay? She didn't respond. She just said, Abraham, come here. I went to her room because I could hear her voice was coming from her room and she wasn't there. So I was like, Ma, where are you? Where are you? No respond. I go outside and I see her outside. And I was like, were you calling me? She was like, no. I was like, how long have you been out here? She's like, I've been out here for like 10 minutes. And I was like, Ma, but I swore I heard you call me from your room. Because when I got close to your bedroom, I heard you saying, Abraham, come here. She's like, No, hijo, it wasn't me. I remember as days went by, my mom started to get really sick to the point where after she came home from work, she would just lay on her bed, not wake up, not do anything. And that wasn't my mom. My mom would. Always get up and do her chores, whatever she had to do. She was happy-go-lucky, you know? But then everything started to get really weird one night where I left her alone in the house and I told her, Mom, I'll be right back. I'm going to go to the store. Do you need anything? She told me, no, I don't need anything. I left the house and I was driving to the store. I don't know why I had a really bad feeling like if something happened was right behind me in the backseat of the car. When I got this feeling, I just decided to go back to the house. But my mom was like in a deep sleep. I couldn't wake her up. As much as I called her, I was like, mom, are you okay? Ma, ma, and no response, no response until I started shaking her. And that's when she woke up. I'm like, are you okay? She's like, hijo, I had a really bad dream. I'm like, what happened? She told me that she had dreamed that while I was driving in the car, I had an accident. And that I had died. So I don't know if it was maybe, you know, a feeling like, God, maybe I should just go back to the house. But I guess that day, you know, my feeling, maybe something would have happened to me and the car, but my feeling probably saved me. I told my mom, you have not been feeling well. What's wrong with you? She didn't know. I didn't know either. That night, she goes to sleep and I go to my room. All I can hear while I was in my room was my mom just calling me. Abraham, come here. Instead of me going to my mom's room, I just texted her and I was like, Ma, are you okay? Are you calling me? She never responded to my message. That's when I got really worried about my mom. I called my grandma who lives in Mexico. And I was talking to her about everything that was going on with my mom. So she got really worried. And she told me, let me talk to your mom. They were on the phone for maybe 30 minutes. My mom went outside to smoke her cigarette. And I was in my room. And then out of nowhere, I hear somebody saying my name, like right behind my ear. That's when I really got worried. You know, freaked out. I was like, something's not right. So when my mom was done talking to my grandma, I told her, Ma, either something bad is happening in this house or something bad is happening to you because you have not been yourself for the last probably two weeks. She's like, I talked to your grandma. She thinks. that somebody basically embrujaron a ella. I'm like, no, I don't believe that. Who would do such a thing? And she was telling me, you don't know people the way I do. I'm like, yeah, mom, but I'm pretty sure you're just feeling sick. You know, the doctor said you had a fever. She's like. I'm just not feeling myself lately. And your grandma thinks that I might need a cleanse. I'm like, well, who's going to do that? You know, are you going to go all the way to Mexico to do it? No, I'm not going to go all the way to Mexico. I'm going to have somebody call me and just do a cleanse on me because I think somebody's done like a curse on me. I'm like, a curse? Who would do a curse on you? I mean, I don't think there's a person that, you know, doesn't like you. As time went on, my mom started getting worse and worse. She did not want to do anything. She did not want to get out of bed. She was just in a zombie state, just in her bed, not waking up, falling into deep sleeps that were really scary because it was hard to wake her up. Even in the mornings, trying to wake her up, it was really hard. I remember one day where we used to live, there was a garage and then there was another room going way down under the garage. And I remember that we used to use that room as storage. My mom went down there to put some stuff. And all I heard when she was down there, I was upstairs. I heard the loudest scream that I could ever hear from my mom. So I just ran all the way down and I'm like, what happened? And she just literally. Looked at me and she said, Abraham, I'm seeing things. I'm seeing people. I'm like, what are you talking about, mom? She's like, yes, hijo. I'm literally looking at people here in this room. I'm like, let's get out of here, mom, because I'm getting a really bad vibe too, especially from the house. And everything that's going on with you is not normal. And I'm kind of beginning to feel it too. Let's go. That's when I got in contact with my grandma again. And I told her, grandma, whatever's happening to my mom, it's really not normal. And I would really like for you to, you know, come. She decides to come after a couple of days. She gets on the plane and And that's when my grandma literally told my mom, somebody is doing brujería on you. I didn't really believe in that because to me, it just wasn't a thing. I've seen it in movies, but to me, it just wasn't a thing. A couple of days went by. My mom, I guess, started feeling better because my grandma was there. I remember it was a Friday night And it was just me and my. Mom in the house. My grandma was at my aunt's house. And I told my mom, hey, you want to go get some food? Yeah. OK. So my mom, once again, like I said, she likes to smoke cigarettes. She goes outside to the front yard. And where we live, we had like a little hall with about it was about three steps. And as I was in my room, I was putting my shoes on. And I was going that little hall. As soon as I was about to go down those steps, I felt somebody push me. I felt like a push in my middle back. And I literally fell down on my butt. My mom walks in the house because she heard the sound. I saw when I fell, she's like, Abraham, are you okay? Did you fall? But I didn't want to tell her what I felt because she was already going through a lot and I didn't want to make her worried or getting more scared than she was already. So I was like, no, I just tripped and my back hurts. I was really in a lot of pain in my lower back. And I told my mom, you know what, I'm going to go to the hospital now because I'm not really feeling good. So as my mom walks in and she goes into the room, into her room, she comes out. I think it was in five seconds that went by. She looks at me. She looked pale. I'm like, what happened? She's like, hijo, can we just go to your sister's house? I'm like, why? Can we just go to your sister's house? I'm like, ma, what's going on? I got to go to the hospital. Yes, just drop me off at your sister's house. And can you go to the hospital by yourself? I'm like, okay, mom, let's go. We both got in the car and she was still really pale. So I'm like, okay, let's go. Again, on our way to that little dark road, my mom starts screaming out of nowhere. I hit the brakes. I'm like, mom, what happened? I just saw a dead body. She's like, it's right there in front of your car. When she said that, my whole body just went numb because I couldn't see anything. I was like, Mama, there's something wrong with you. We need to get you help. I was feeling really freaked out about everything that was happening. I went and dropped her off at my sister's house. And I told my sister, listen, I fell down. and I'm going to go to the hospital just to get checked out because my lower back really hurts a lot. So I dropped her off and she, even my sister was like, what's wrong with my mom? She's like, I don't know. She's not telling me. Hopefully she'll tell you. As I went to the hospital, I was talking to the nurse. I fell down. I obviously never told her what happened. And she was telling me to lift my shirt up so she can check my back. She told me she saw like five fingerprints on my back. I looked at her and I was like, I'm sorry, five fingerprints? She's like, yeah. Were you laying down or something? Or did somebody have their hand on you? I'm like, no, no. That's when I really got freaked out. And that's when I was like, somebody pushed me when I was trying to walk down the stairs. Obviously, I got discharged. I went to my sister's house. I spent the night there. My mom was feeling a little bit better. So the next morning I was talking to my mom and I was like, listen, check my back and tell me if you see anything. And she saw the tip of the fingers on my middle back. Like if somebody would like have scratched me but left their fingerprints on my back. And I was like, please take a picture of it. She took a picture of it. And to this day, she has the picture and we have No clue what it was, but I was really, really freaked out. Not scared, just freaked out. So as I told my mom that day, okay, you ready to go home? Yes, let's go home. Over the next couple of days, my mom was talking to a lady from Guadalajara who does, I'm guessing like cleaning them out of brujerias and stuff like that. And she would tell my mom what to do every day Really nice lady. I got to just hear her voice and the way she was talking to mom. And she literally told my mom, yes, somebody did a brujería on you. And what they did is not good. And not only will it affect you, but it's going to affect the people around you. So whoever's close to you, just make sure they want to do the steps that you're doing to try to get better. You can do them. But I didn't really believe in all that. My mom was just doing her stuff, her limpiezas, like we would call it. Everything was normal for the next two, three days until I was laying on my bed. I don't know if you've ever seen Whenever you have clothes on a chair, it feels like you're seeing somebody. That's what I thought I was seeing. I was like, oh, it's just clothes, but I don't know what it was. I was sleeping, but I was dreaming. And I saw dead bodies too. And the weird thing is that I just did not see any dead body. I saw my mom, my dad, and one of my brothers too. I just wanted to wake up. And when I did wake up, my whole body was just like, no, this is not happening. I don't know what's going on. I woke up. I went into my mom's room. And as soon as I went into my mom's room, my mom was literally at the edge of her bed, sitting down in total darkness. And when I saw her, I was like, ma, she turned around, looked at me, With like a deep look that to this day, when I think about it, it's still scary. And I'm like, mom, what's wrong? I would walk towards her. It got to a point where. I wanted to get closer, but I had to stop because something was like pulling me away from my mom. And I told her, Ma, snap out of it. Ma, I was there for like probably a minute, and it felt like I was there for hours trying to get her to snap out of whatever was going on with her. And all of a sudden, she's like, what happened, mijo? I'm like, no, what's wrong? She's like, nothing's wrong. Why are you on the edge of the bed sitting down? Why aren't you laying down in the dark? You normally sleep with your little light on. She's like, no, mijo, I didn't feel like turning on my light. I'm like, but are you okay? She's like, yes. It got to the point there where I was like, no. Something is terribly wrong with my mom. The next day, I told my mom, please call the lady that is helping you with this. We need to talk to her. My mom calls her. As soon as she picked up the phone, she said. Naga, you are in a lot of danger. And you're not going to get better unless he cleans you up really well. What Eliel did to you, it's really, really bad. And like I told you before, it's not only going to affect you, but it's going to affect the people closest to you. And I know right now that you told me that your son lives right there with you. It's affecting him too. And I know. So I told her what was going on in my dreams. And she told me, it's beginning to affect you. We have to do a limpieza on your mom first. So we need to help her a lot. I'm like, how are we going to do that when you're in Mexico and my mom's over here? We're going to do. Something that your mom needs to do by herself. But I want you to call your grandma so she can be there with her. My grandma, she's a very strong person. She does not get scared easily. She's probably one of the strongest persons I know, bravest persons I know. So I called my grandma and I told her everything that was happening. And I remember that day, it was my aunt's birthday. And I called my grandma. I was like, hey, grandma, what are you doing? She was like, I'm here. We came to eat with your aunt, you know. It's her birthday, so we came to eat. Okay. Okay. I was like, grandma, listen, this happened. I talked to the lady who's helping out my mom and she would like for you to come to the house tonight. Okay, hijo, I'll be there. We're going to cut a cake for your tia and then I will be there. So that day, I remember just like a normal day. My mom was still, it got like to points where maybe three hours, my mom was really well. And then after a couple hours, she was just Like in total darkness, her mind was just blank. So the lady talked to my mom and said, listen, I won't be able to do it today, but can we do it tomorrow? And my mom got worried because she thought, well, what if, you know, something bad happens to me? No, nothing bad is going to happen to you. Just do this. She was giving her a lot of instructions to my mom where she had to take a shower with like red roses and stuff like that. But it got worse that night. The experience that I had that day was so bad that as I'm telling this, I get goosebumps all over, you know, like chills all over my body. And I remember that. Night, my mom actually told me, I'm feeling a little bit better. I'm like, perfect. So you're good. You talk to the lady that's helping you. She's like, yeah, I talked to her, pero I did my limpieza on me and I'm probably going to be okay. Well, I mean, I was happy to see her like that. I had to work the next day. My mom had to work the next day too. And that's the thing. At work, everything was kind of normal. But when she got home, that's where the problem began. So the next day, my mom went to work. I went to work. And we both worked at the same place. And I remember that day she got home around 4.30 in the afternoon. And I got home around 6. So I get home and my mom was already... laying down on her bed. That day, I wasn't feeling nothing weird. But as soon as I got to the door, I had left my key in the house and I was knocking and knocking and I was knocking on my mom's window. When I looked at my mom's window, I saw like a shadow going by. And I thought it was just my imagination. I thought it was just me being tired. But as I was knocking on my mom's window, I was like, Ma, I forgot my key. I was calling her. She did not answer the phone. And that's when I got worried. So I knocked so hard on the door that I felt I was about to break it. And that's when my mom looked out through the window. And then I'm like, Ma, can you open the door, please? She's like, okay. So I'm like, Ma, what's wrong? She's like, I don't know. But as soon as I got home from work, I was really, really tired. I'm like, have you talked to your friend who's helping you? She's like, no, not today. I'm like, okay. Didn't think much of it. My mom laid down and I told her, mom, I'm going to go to the store. I will be right back. My mom just looks at me and says, okay. But I felt really bad vibe in the room. Like something dark was in there and like something heavy. that I hadn't felt before. I went to the store. It was around 7.30. It started to get dark. I go to the store. I get my things. I get a call from my aunt. She's like, Abraham, where's your mom? I'm like, in the house. Where are you? I'm on my way home. I came to the store. And all of a sudden, she told me, Abraham, I need you to get down to your mom As soon as you can go to the house, open the. Door and I want you to check on your mom. I'm like, what's wrong? Just do it. I'm like, okay. So I sped to the house as fast as I can. She hung up the, well, before she hung up the phone, she told me we will be right there. And my aunt didn't live that far, maybe about, you know, 15, 20 minutes. And I'm like, yeah, what's wrong? Just go to the house and wake up your mom now. So I'm driving there. But when I got to the house, I didn't even want to open the front door. There was something stopping me from opening the front door. And I just couldn't open it. I don't know why I couldn't open it. And I get a call from my tia again. I'm like, tia, what's wrong? And she told me that my tia from Mexico called my grandma and told her, mom, go check on Maga. Because she's dying. So I'm like, yeah, what do you mean she's dying? She's falling into a deep sleep and there is no way we can let that happen because she's literally dying. You may not be able to tell, but she's dying. As soon as she said that, I opened the door. I went straight into her room and my mom was just laying down. Her eyes closed. And I'm like, ma, Get up, get up. And I was shaking her and shaking her. And there was no possible way that she would wake up. So then my grandma, my aunt and my cousin get there and they're like, how's your mom? And my grandma just runs straight to my mom, holding her hand, praying. And they call the lady that was helping her from Guadalajara. We put her on speaker and she was literally calling out my mom's name. Maga, don't go anywhere dark. Stay right there. Don't move. She started to say something to my mom. And it's really hard to remember what she was saying. My grandma was holding my mom's hand. My tia was holding my mom's hand. My cousin was there too with her phone. And for some reason, she was recording. I didn't even know she was recording. So they were reading. The lady was saying something to my mom. Whatever it was, my mom was not waking up. And that's when we really got scared. We really got freaked out. She was saying, Maga, don't go towards the darkness. Stay right there. Go towards the light. And then she started reading like oraciones, but it was hard to make out what she was saying. And all of a sudden, when she stopped, all we can hear was my mom making a noise like, like if something was leaving her body. The weird thing is that when my mom made that noise, I saw something. Actually leaving her body. It was literally like a shadow leaving her body. It didn't have no eyes. It was just literally like a see-through shadow, you know, kind of dark see-through shadow that just left. I didn't want to tell my mom because she was already freaked out. But I told my grandma, grandma, I saw something leave my mom's body. And my grandma told me she did too. After all that happened, my mom woke up and she was like, what happened? And then my grandma and my aunt started telling her everything that happened, everything that. She was going through. She was literally dying in her sleep because of the brujería that they had done to her. They actually told my mom who did it. My mom has that video of what my cousin took when. All that happened. And after that, nothing ever happened to my mom again. The ladies from Guadalajara literally saved her life. And that's when I started to believe that, okay, yeah, it's possible. And bad people do that type of stuff. To this day, my mom has been good. I have been good. And we still have that video as proof that it wasn't no joke. Like people say, oh, it was something out of a movie. No, it wasn't. It was real life. It was something that I actually lived with my mom. And it was bad. And me after that day, after everything that happened, no bad dreams or nothing. And I'm just really thankful for the lady that helped my mom because I don't know what would have happened. If she didn't help because she knew that my mom was dying. And she was the person that called my aunt from Mexico to tell my grandma that my mom was dying. How did she know? I have no idea. But to this day, you know, I tell my mom, have you talked to her? She said, I haven't talked to her in a while. And I just tell her, well, whenever you do, just tell her thank you for everything that she did. And she actually stopped doing that. She actually stopped, you know, helping people because she told my mom that it was affecting her too. But she did. Tell my mom that my mom's case was one of the worst ones that she had to deal with because as she was helping my mom out, it was also affecting her in really bad ways. I know there's people that don't believe, but when I talked to my mom, I told her. Mom, what were you feeling? What were you, what was the main thing that you were feeling? She actually did tell me that that day she was in a very deep, dark place, like literally darkness. It was like a light, but she was not going towards the light. There was something pulling her all the way to darkness. And when she talked to the lady that helped my mom, she told her, if we weren't there, if your son wasn't there, if nobody was at the house, you wouldn't be alive to tell it. And she told me that she was just blanked. She had no feeling one way or another. And when I talked to. My mom about it, she still, you know, she cries about it because it's just hard for her to believe how there's so many bad people out there in the world that just want to see you do bad, just not good, just want to see you suffer. And when that happened to my mom, that's when I kind of started to believe and I'm like, yeah, Rojeria is real. We know who did it, and we know exactly why they did it. And it was a coworker that did that to her. My mom, well, she's always been a hard worker. At the place where my mom worked, they noticed that they were giving my mom overtime. And they were not giving that person overtime because my mom was a fast worker doing whatever. She had to do. And that's where it started. Everything starts with jealousy. There's people out there, I've heard stories about people who don't want to see you do good. But they're like, no, no, I'm going to keep you down. And that's what literally happened to my mom. And this story that I just told you, it's not the first one that has happened to my mom, to my dad too. Back in 1999, I was, at that time, I was 11 years old. My dad got promoted as manager and my mom obviously got promoted too. My mom and dad being there for less than a year and a half, those people were asking themselves, why are they, why did they get promoted? Those people. They were really good friends with my mom and my dad, but as they say, you know, it's hard to trust people. I remember that day, my mom started to feel really, really bad. I was young. I didn't know what was wrong. My dad was talking to her, like, what's wrong?¿ Qué te pasa? I'm just not feeling well. I'm feeling very sick. I'm like, huh. My mom was really sick, really sick. That year, I remember my sister was born in April of 1999, and my grandma came to pick up my mom because my dad had told my grandma, listen, there's something wrong with your daughter, and I don't have no explanation as to what it is. Somebody, a friend of my dad told my dad, you know what? I think your wife is going. To Brujeria in somebody's Ashley did something to your wife. So my dad was like, brujería? She's like, yeah, no. I don't think that's possible. My dad didn't believe it either. So my grandma also, again, got on a plane, came and told my dad, listen, Jose, I'm taking Maga to Mexico because I want her to get better. She's not doing good over here. She got to Mexico and went with another person to see what was wrong with my mom, a person who does, you know, limpiezas and stuff like that. They told my mom somebody had done brujería on her. Not only on her, but on my dad too. The type of brujería they did was a strong one also. Not only because of what they did, but the way they did it. That day at work, they had told my mom in Mexico, listen, somebody did you eat anything from anybody? She's like, I don't remember because that day I got sick. I remember at work, they gave me caldo de res, which is like a soup, stew. As soon as my mom said that to the lady, they said, you know what? I'm going to do something to you and we're going to find. Out what it is. She did what she was doing to my mom, and she literally told my mom, who ate that? Me and my husband. What they did is that they had two special plates for you and for your husband. Did they eat the same thing? She was like, no, they ate something else. So in this soup, it's going to sound really nasty, but that woman had put her period blood On my mom's soup and on my dad's soup. It's some type of brujería that they do also. My dad did not finish the soup because I remember my dad telling my mom there was something kind of like weird taste so my dad did not finish it. My mom on the other hand did. And that affected my mom more than my dad. It got to the point where the lady told her, I'm going to help you. I'm going to make sure this goes away. Now, you got the option of, and my grandma was there too. You have the option of as soon as I'm done with you, we can reverse it. We can make it go to that person who's trying to hurt you. But my grandma being, you know, the type of person she is, she told the lady, no, we don't want that. We don't want them to suffer. So just clean my daughter. Please help her. And she did help her. The only bad thing about it is that it. Was a little late. From what they did to my mom with that leukemia, there was something in my mom's brain, like a little rain, rainworm, worm, I think is what they call it in Mexico, like a parasite, yes. So my mom, as she was getting cured from that leukemia, she still started to feel bad. That's when they took her to the hospital in Mexico. They literally told my mom and my grandma, you don't know where this came from. Because normally a parasite, when it does that, you know, it can, it takes, I think, a couple months or like to a year, you know, to have an effect. So the lady that was cleaning. My mom told her, yes, this is from the Bucaria. And now I've already cleaned you from the Bucaria, but now the doctor's, It's their time to help you out with whatever you have. They were able to take out that little parasite, but it got so complicated that my mom was literally dying on the table where they were having surgery on me. Well, they were having surgery, but she was in intensive care after they were done. So my grandma was there with her and just praying with her, praying with her. And my mom literally told my grandma that she was seeing my grandpa who had passed away when I was like, I think it was like maybe I was a month or two months old. And basically my grandpa in the dream was telling her, let's go. It's time to come. Come with me. My mom was waking up and losing consciousness and stuff. She was able to tell my grandma My dad is calling me to go with him. And my grandma was literally telling her, no, don't go towards him. Stay here with me. You know, he's already gone. Mija, do not go. My grandma at that time was crying. And I remember when my grandma actually told me that story. I have never seen her cry. That's when she cried. And all that was from the effects of the blue carriera that they had on my mom. What kills me the most is that my mom, she has a beautiful heart. And for people to do that to her, it hurts me more than you can imagine. And it hurts me to see her the way she was the second time it happened to her, which I kind of feel was the worst because she was literally dying in her sleep. And all because of jealousy from a person who shouldn't even have done that. Back in 2009, I was diagnosed with cancer. I remember going through that phase where they had to remove the tumor and stuff. They had to insert a catheter in my chest. And I remember the doctor was telling me, you know, you're going to be on chemotherapy and you're going to be medicated so we can try to get rid of that cancer. I'm like, okay, perfect. While I was going through chemo, I lost my hair. I was laying in my bed. You know, I had my TV on the side and stuff. And I remember going to sleep. All of a sudden I woke up and I clearly saw a shadow going from the edge of the bed, going down all the way to the side of my bed, literally standing beside me, looking at me. It was literally a black shadow just looking at me. I really got freaked out I told my mom about it. My mom was like, it was probably, you know, the lights from the car and maybe you saw something. I talked to, I even told the doctor about it. And he told me, well, it could be due to the medicine. And I actually started looking and I said, yeah, you'll be able to see things. But during my whole chemotherapy, I saw so many things that I think the only person that knows what I actually saw was my dad. Because my mom, I know she would have gotten really worried. When I was in the hospital receiving blood transfusions, I was literally in a room by myself. And I saw a nurse walking by with something behind her. Like a dark shadow. And I don't know if it was... To this day, I'm still trying to think if it was the medicine, the chemotherapy that was actually making me see things. But the type of things that I was seeing, I know it wasn't the medicine. I know it was something else. I don't know if it was just waiting to see if I wasn't going to make it and maybe take me with whoever that shadow was. One day, I was actually, my mom was taking me to my appointment to get my chemotherapy. And as I was going into the clinic, to receive my chemotherapy, I was talking to an older gentleman there. And I was like, hi, how are you? He's like, I'm doing good. How about yourself? Yeah, I'm okay. You know, just here to receive my chemo. And he looked at me with his eyes and he told me, you don't belong here and you're going to continue living. I had Never seen him before, but it was in a room full of people that were doing, you know, their chemotherapies and stuff. I actually asked the nurse. There was a gentleman sitting beside me earlier. I don't know if you saw him. She was like, no. I was like, he was a tall gentleman, no hair, skinny, with a watch on his hand. When I told her that, she kind of looked at me all freaked out And I'm like, did I say something wrong? I'm sorry if I offended that person. He was like, no. And I still to this day remember his name. His name was Harry. And she told me, Harry passed away a week ago. When she told me that, I looked at her and she saw that my body just went A-O-Y. But when that nurse told me that, She even asked me, are you feeling okay? Or do you need anything? I was like, no. I was quiet the whole day. And I just kept thinking about that person every single day. As I was going through my chemo, it got to a point where the chemo was basically helping me out. But at the same time, it was messing up my body, my kidneys, my liver, everything. So it got to a point where I was really weak. I didn't have anything like calcium, potassium, none of that in my body. The doctor told me that I didn't even have a lot of blood in my body. How did I survive? I don't know. But that time, I remember going in the ambulance to the hospital because I got really, really sick. And I told the people in the ambulance, I can't really breathe. They put oxygen on me. And I know in the ambulance, there was only two people in the ambulance, the two paramedics that were helping me. But I saw a third person at the end of the ambulance. And that person was just looking at me. Not a word, nothing. When we got to the hospital, I told them, it was three of you. They're like, no, no, no. It was just two of us. There was no three. The third person was driving. So I don't know what it was. I don't know if it was somebody that was waiting for me. Maybe I was going to die that day and waiting to take me or somebody that wanted to help me. I don't know. I never found out who it was. That's still in my mind. I just want to take a moment here to thank Abraham for sharing his experiences with us. Also, we got to speak with his mother, and we recorded everything for the Spanish version of this podcast called Terror y Historias Reales. And we actually haven't published that. We started in the story editing phase. But I just took my messages today and Abraham was asking if I had seen the video. The thing is, during the call with the mother, he shared this clip with me about, it was in one of those moments where, you know, these intense moments of like, I guess, spiritual vulnerability. It was very intense from the reaction that I got from the mother in the recording itself. So like she couldn't get through the clip. Now the clip was sent to me. I still haven't watched it. Now, the reason for that is that it feels to me like such a private moment. And I guess part of me is also a little afraid, right? But also, it feels like very private, like very, I don't know. Because obviously, when I asked, am I allowed to share this? Or like, would rather not just because of what it is. And also the warnings that I got from the mother, as in like the advice, I guess, which is like, hey, before you watch it, like you should pray. You should, you know, watch out for this and everything. Also, some of the advice in general that I received was about food and taking food from strangers. Also, other things about envy and the dangers of not knowingly, what's it called, unknowingly, generating this feeling in other people. Like if other people become envious of you, you don't know what their intentions can be. This is a very important thing, at least in my family, when we talk about, hey, like you got to watch out, like NVIDIA, you know, envy. It's a very serious thing. People, you don't know people's intentions, basically. That's within my family. But I also hear this a lot from other people, at least in Latin American culture, where you don't want to generate this thing because you never know other people's intentions. And they may have access to dark forces, witchcraft, all these other things like that. Now, some of us here listening are probably going to be like, oh, yeah, OK, that's all folklore. That's all fake. That's all, you know, doesn't exist. And That's okay if you believe that. But there are a lot of us here that don't believe that we know everything. So we can agree to disagree in that. That's okay. But anyway, I'm very interested in your thoughts, your ideas. What do you think this was? If you have any questions about it, feel free to ask. And I'll let you know. There's a lot of little insights here that we got in the recording that didn't make it to the actual final episode. I'm still trying to think how we're going to publish the raw recordings later. without all the extras that we do, which is long gaps of nothing, questions that you can't even hear properly, a lot of little things like that. But let me know your thoughts. If you have any ideas of how you'd like to hear these as well, please let me know.
